Difference between Elite Pro and Elite Pro L

Hi I will soon buy the Elite Pro but I have newly seen that there is two models of this card availble the "old" one and the new L6. The pricedifference is about euro less for the L6 (at my local netdealer) but no specifications availble yet for this card.
I have looked at soundblaster.com but only find the elite pro not L6.
Anyone here who knows ?

How could anybody know? There is no available info about a?"L6" card, official or unofficial. Is it in stock where you saw it advertised? have you tried to contact the store to ask for the differences?

what are the major differences between the air and the pro?

In a nutshell, the Air is a lightened, more compact system than the 13" Pro counterpart. The Air loses some hardware features to accommodate the physical downsizing.
    No FireWire port
    No built-in optical drive
A lesser performing CPU to retain battery charge life, and adequate cooling.
    No Ethernet port
    No Kensington lock slot
The Air does have a superior native resolution at 1440 x 900, and a standard SSD that does make up alot of the speed differential, and then some. Of course, the 13" Pro can be optionally configured with an SSD.
You buy the Air if the physical size an weight savings are demonstrably more important than the features lost.

  • What are the differences between Mac Air and Mac Pro?

What are really the main differences between the Macbook Air and the MacBook Pro?
I am thinking of getting a laptop by mac. I like the prices of the Air but the Pro seems better performance.
However my needs are internet, email, word processing and some photos, pictures etc.
would i still be able to do many good applications on the Air vs the Pro?
    suggestions please?
    thanks

The base model current 2013 Air will perform faster and better in general than the base model 13" non-Retina Macbook Pro.
    Ive got both of them.
    On the Air:
    Faster wifi (by far) 802ac
Faster boot and read/ write due to SSD
Much longer battery life due to Haswell upgrade made in June
Crisper sharper screen, better to stare at for long periods
MUCH FEWER parts to go bad,.....also only one moving part, the Fan
No HD to crash from mechanical failure
Packing the AIr around is a dream since is nearly the weight of an Ipad.
Dont get fooled like most do in seeing the super-skinny AIr as less than a full power machine, ....thats always someones first huge mistake when they see one.

  • What is the difference between Premiere CS6 and Premiere Pro CC

Is there a difference between the two programs?
I am debating if to buy the Premiere CS6 or to subscribe to the Premiere CC in the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Your answer is clear but does not address my situation. I have only a Creative Cloud (monthly) subscription (no purchased version of CS6). When I first acquired Adobe Master Collection CS6 in the spring, Creative Cloud installed it and has provided periodic updates to it. Now I have downloaded and installed Premiere Pro CC, resulting in two versions of PP, both installed and maintained by Creative Cloud. While many of the installed CS6 programs have cousins labeled CC, not all of the installed apps have a CC version. I'm not understanding why Adobe does not simply come out and say to uninstall the CS6 versions (or do it automatically when a CC version is installed), or otherwise clarify where all of this is going.
I emphasize again that I never bought a version of CS6 that was installed directly onto my computer. All CS6 programs were originally installed via Creative Cloud. Confusing and definitely not the Four Seasons level of product/service that I expect from Adobe.

I am wondering what the major difference between the Geforce 650M and the Iris Pro.
I know the Geforce is a dedicated graphics card and the Iris Pro is intergrated, but in terms of performance what is the

Search Google for any benchmarks. This is not the place.

  • Performance difference between After effects and Premiere Pro

    Hi,
I'm sure this question has come up before and i've found lots of threads talking about After effects performance so I apologise if this is a repeat, i'm very new to Premiere/AE moving from FCP.
Why is it that performance in Premiere Pro is excellent with real time video playback even when applying effects where if I import that same clip into After Effects I get 15fps on a 720p 50fps clip. Am I missing something, a preference maybe or should I expect this kind of performance without completing a RAM preview first.
As a note, I'm testing this on a 2012 Macbook Air as I'm planning on doing simple cuts and adjustments on the road.

    Am I missing something,
Yes. The difference between an edit suite and a compositing program. Seriously, simply accept things as they are and don't try to apply principles from one program to the other when they are based on completely different workflow paradigms which in turn affect the underlying tech stuff.

  • What is the difference between iPad 3 and macbook pro

I was going to buy an ipad 3 o macbook pro but Im not sure if I should send extra and get a macbook pro or get and ipad 3 which does just about everything I want to do

Unfortunately, most of the apps you listed are more like toys on iOS compared to the dekstop counterparts.
But they may be perfectly adequate for the original posters intended use (as they are for the thousands of people who use them daily). And iPhoto on iOS has a few features the desktop version doesn't yet.
One cannot really consider the iPad as a serious (doing more than just creating some quick holiday videos / edit photos) programming / video or image editor tool.
Professional musicians have created whole albums on the iPad. http://www.t3.com/features/gorillaz-ipad-album-how-it-was-made
Music videos have been created on the iPad: http://www.tuaw.com/2011/03/17/music-video-shot-with-only-an-ipad-2/
How seriously it can be used depends on what you are using it for, and your intended end result. Obviously it's not going to create the same type of work that can be created using $5000 worth of desktop computer and pro software, but then it cost 1/10th of that.
As we don't know panuccio11's intended usage (serious, fun, pro, amateur) we can't really say if it will suit his needs. But it's not correct to say it can't be used to create content, as the above examples and available apps prove.

  • The difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers

Does anyone know what is the difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers? I can not find anywhere on Google. Also in the tutorials I have seen, suggesting DVD Studio Pro markers, but it did not mention the chapter markers.
    Thanks,

"Adding Chapter and Compression Markers to Your Sequence
Once you have your edited sequence or program finished, you can add markers to the sequence for use on DVD. Markers are reference points you can place within clips or sequences that identify specific frames. There are two kinds of markers you can add that directly relate to authoring a DVD—chapter markers and compression markers.
    • Chapter markers allow DVD authoring applications to create a navigable chapter list for your exported QuickTime movie. Chapter markers force MPEG keyframes (known as I-frames) at their location, since the DVD specification requires an I-frame at each chapter point.
    • Compression markers identify areas of abrupt change and include two types: those that are automatically inserted by Final Cut Pro at all edit points, and those you manually place in the clip or sequence. Like chapter markers, compression markers force I-frames at their location, although in this case it is for better quality encoding, and they are not used to create a chapter list.
Note: When you export a QuickTime movie, you have an option to export various kinds of markers, including compression, chapter, or DVD Studio Pro markers. *When you choose to export DVD Studio Pro markers, Final Cut Pro actually exports chapter markers and all compression markers.* This includes compression markers you set manually, as well as ones created automatically by Final Cut Pro at edit and transition points."
From the Final Cut Pro User Manual.

Note that iStatPro has not been updated in quite awhile and may not be reading the guts of a totally new system correctly. IIRC, the Late 2011 MBPs were beginning to tax iStatPro already, as they had newer sensors the older code was completely unaware of.
For strictly measuring temps on the guts of these newer Macs, maybe use Marcel Bresink's free Temperature Monitor? Last updated in March 2012. In my Late 2011 15" MBP, it picks up all 18 sensors...

  • Is there a difference between Logic Pro and Logic Pro X?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there a difference between Logic Pro and Logic Pro X?
    Already thx!

    Hi
    Short answer: No
    Longer answer:
Logic Pro X is the latest release version of the DAw known as "Logic Pro". Previous versions were: Logic Pro 9, Logic Pro 8 etc.
There was also a "Logic Express" (no longer available) which, though similar to Logic Pro, was missing a few features of Logic Pro in it's later versions)

    Hi Curnsie,
Realize this thread is "answered" already, but, actually, there is a good bit of difference between the 9650 and the 9800. Have a look here:
