  • Exchange 2007/2010/2013 UM coexistence

We currently have an Exchange 2007/2010 environment in production along with Lync 2010 (UM provided).
I have installed a number of Exchange 2013 server and will be migrating ( over a LONG time ) to the new system.
In the meantime, I need to have all services co-existent across all three Exchange versions.
It looks like I have everything workign now except UM for Lync 2010.
I tried adding the Exchange 2013 server into the existing 2007/2010 dial plan and am having issues.
    Here is what i did.
    EAC
    - Installed certificate on all Exchange 2013 servers
    - Enabled Unified Messaging on all the servers
    - Select server
    - Set TLS
    - Associated 2007/2010 Dial Plan
    - Set UM service on certificate on all servers
    - Restarted UM service
    - Did the above for all MB and CAS servers
    - Wait about an hour
Lync fails to send calls to voice mail, giving me events 45024 and 44022 on the Lync FE stating that Lync could not connect to the Exch MB servers and the attempt to connect to UM failed.
    Any suggestions?
Do I need to rerun the following ?
    - Exchucutl.ps1
    - Ocsumutil.exe
    Thanks!
    Tom

When I go into the Exchange EAC Unified messaing / UM IP Gateway screen I see the Um IP Gateways configured in the legacy Exchange systems and had hoped that these existing gateway definitions would suffice.
Does exchucutil.ps1 need to run from a 2013 Exch server to initialize these gateways in Exch 2013?
On my fist attempt, VM was failing for my 2007/2010 users. I had not even started to test with a 2013 user. I successfully backed out by dis-associating the dial plan in the Exchange EAC console from all the Exch 2013 servers.
If I run exchucutil.ps1, try again, and it fails, what is my backout plan? Do I need to rerun exchucutil.ps1 on a legacy Exchange system? or will merely dis-associateing the diual plan in Exchange 2013 again suffice.
    Thanks Tom
After typing this, I realize that this is probably more of an Exchange question so I posted the question there. I apologize now for any cross posting misbehavour.

  • 2010 server role requirements calculator

I'm sure there are other threads on this my terminology must be off on searching for them.
I have a 2010 exchange environmnet, VMWare, max ____ 2TB.  I don't know if I need to say max disk, volume, lun or single storage device.  But if the role calc is going to help me I need to input this limit.  I have 2 mbx servers, no DAGs.
The calc returns lun sizes of 6+ TB but I can't have luns that large.
How/where do I input the right number so the calc will help me with storage configuration?

    Hi,
Found a useful blog for your reference:
Exchange 2010 Server Role Requirements Calculator
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/11/09/3408737.aspx
Collected some information from the blog above:
    1. The term LUN utilized in the calculator refers only the representation of the disk that is exposed to the host operating system. It does not define the disk configuration.
    2. The LUN Design highlights the LUN architecture chosen for this server solution. The architecture is derived from the backup type, backup frequency, and high availability architecture that were chosen.
    3. Most operations management programs have capacity thresholds that alert when a LUN is more than 80% utilized. This value allows you to ensure that each LUN has a certain percentage of disk space available so that the LUN is not designed and
    implemented at maximum capacity.
    Hope it is helpful

  • Differences between SharePoint 2007 and 2013 security options?

    Hi,
We just did a test upgrade from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2013 by copying over the content database. One thing we are noticing is that users who had permissions to upload to a document library no longer have that option in 2013. Is there a difference
between the 2007 and 2013 "contribute" permission?
What can I do to fix this issue?
    thanks,
    Sherazad

their is no difference between 2007 & 2013 for Contribute premission.

  • What is the difference between jsp :include and server side include

what is the difference between jsp :include and server side include(request dispatcher include method)????
i understand that both request dispatcher include method and jsp:include take dynamic data,so when would one use request dispatcher include and when jsp:include.
Is the usage interchangeable?i believe jsp include is used only for jsp/html but include directive can be used to include servlets ,jsp and html....correct me if i m wrong and
do suggest if u hav ny other diff in this context...

The difference really is: in what format do you want your inclusions? If your environment has many Java developers and only a few designers that focus mainly on, say, Flash, that might push you more towards the server-side include() directive. Or, if you have a large set of pages that receive dynamic content that is displayed in a consistent fashion (such as a workflow header area on a page).
If, on the other hand, you have more web designers, there may be a greater desire to deal in markup rather than Java code. Java developers themselves might prefer to view markup (JSP) that more resembles the eventual output than something occuring in Java code.
Finally, there are considerations of tiering. While it is totally possible to (and I have previously) implement 'view classes' that render markup or generate layout templates, JSP's offer, IMO, a subtle, psychological advantage. By forcing a developer to work in a different format, markup versus Java source, the separation on view from controller and model becomes a bit easier. It is still possible to make mistakes, but if a developer at some point notices, "Wait, I'm in a JSP, should I be importing a java.sql class?", then the choice to use JSP includes has paid off in spades.

One is for the base version of the Mac OS, the other is for the Server version. You can only install the one that matches your system.

  • Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.

Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.
Does CRM 2007 use the WebUI?.
    Jason

My fault for not putting my question forward correctly.
I have worked with CRM 7 a few times now, but my experience has jumped me from CRM 5 straight to CRM 7, having never touched CRM 2007.
I now have an opening to work on CRM 2007 so I was intrigued to know what it physically looked like. I assume it does not use the WebUI interface?.

  • Difference between two dates into server behaviors

    Good morning all,
I'm trying to create a recordset using server behaviors and as I'm not an expert using php I'm completely lost...
The problem is the following : I want to find into a table all the records where the difference between today date and their creation date (stored in that table of course) is greater than, let's say 30days. How can I indicate that into the variables field ?
Many thanks in advance for your help !

    Many thanks !
I was ignoring the DATE_SUB function and it does work in such a simple way… (with a closing parenthesis at the end)
    Thanks again !

  • Exchange 2007 edge server with ironport

I currently have a frontend exch 2003 and backend exch 2003 server with ironport. my mx record is the ironport which then forwards into the backend server. The frontend server was only used for owa and using outlook with https connection to exchange.
With 2007 it has more functionality and the front end server is now called an edge server. Should I have mx go there then to ironport or vice versa? I'm thinking ironport to edge server to hub transport server. Is that correct? will it work?
anyone have exchange 2007 edge server with ironport? what are you doing?

well that wouldve been nice to know a little earlier. anyway I have ironport successfully sending mail to the edge server who sends it on to the hub transport server. right now the client access server is on the same as the hub but can be easily moved later. this is for very few people so its not like I need to off load anything as its a powerful dual core server. anyway now with the edge server I can test how effective it is versus the ironport. I'll let everyone know when you can ditch the ironport for msft's edge server. (Don't hold your breath).

  • What is the difference between MCU & Cisco TelePresence Server?

    Hello Pros,,
I would like an answer for this question "What is the difference between MCU & Cisco TelePresence Server?" to help us find a solution that best fits our requirements .
also I would appreciate it if you refer to a document that directly discusses the difference in a straight-forward manner.
Thanks for taking the time trying to help ,,

Nothing much has changed on the MCU side, it still has the same feature set really.  Only things that are notable that have changed is the addition of ClearPath and encryption for SIP calls are the two biggest features in the latest release, don't expect any large features for the MCU as Cisco works to leverage everyone to migrate to the TelePresence Server as most of the MCU product line can be migrated to a TelePresence Server and that is where the most active development is.
Recent MCU changes can be seen in the MCU 4.5 Release Notes.
Recent TelePresence Server changes can be seen in the TPS 4.0 Release Notes and TPS 4.1 Release Notes.
In the most recent TPS 4.1 release, which came out last month, no MCU features were added because they were focusing most if not all the development on scheduling with TMS and Conductor, and to improve the existing TPS features already in place.

  • Difference between client proxy and server proxy

could u explain me the differences between client proxy and server proxy,
    regards,
    AVR

    Hi AV,
simple search in sdn may answer your question,
There are two type of Proxy's in ABAP and JAVA(Clinet and Server),
Clinet ABAP proxy used to send message from ANY SAP System to Integration server,in this case XI adapter not required .
Server ABAP proxy used to send messages from Intergration server to any SAP System,in this case XI Adapter required.
How to implement ABAP proxy comunication refer below link

The sama way Client JAVA proxy used to send message to Integration sever from any Web Application ,
Server JAVA proxy used to send messages to any destination system ,in both cases XI adapter required.

  • Difference between sysout log and server log???

    Hi All,
from the long time am trying to find out the difference between sysout log and server log, can anyone please share me the info regarding that?
    Thanks.

    Server Logs
The server log records information about events such as the startup and shutdown of servers, the deployment of new applications, or the failure of one or more subsystems. The messages include information about the time and date of the event as well as the ID of the user who initiated the event.
    Standard output logs
In addition to writing messages to a log file, each server instance prints a subset of its messages to standard out. Usually, standard out is the shell (command prompt) in which you are running the server instance.WebLogic Server administrators and developers configure logging output and filter log messages to troubleshoot errors or to receive notification for specific events.
