Difference between intercompany sales and STO (inter)?

HI Experts
Can any one tell me what is the difference between  between intercompany sales and STO(inter)?
LNaidu

hi..
Intercompany sales trans.
the customer orders stock from the sales org (3001)..that belongs to comp code 3000...the Sales org 3001 then creates the sales order and indicates the delivering plant as a plant that belongs to different company code i.e. 1000..
The sales org 3001 then invoices the customer for material purchased..the system automatically creates the inter-compnay billing doc at the same time as the customer's billing doc is created,,,This inter-compnay invoic ius sent from the delivering plant to selling sales org..
Two billing doc..1. standard customer billing doc that is sent from the sales org to the customer.
2. inter-compnay doc that is sent from delivering plant ot sales org..
Inter compnay STO..
comp code 3000 has plant 3000 creates purchase order to purchse stock from plant 1000 based in comp code 1000..
the stock is delivered to plant 3000. comp code 1000 then creates an inter compnay invoice and bills compnay code 3000 for the stock...
hope it works..
Thanks

  • Difference between Olant sale and Depot sale

What is the basic difference between plant sale and depot sale? is there any difference with respect to their confighration part?

    Hi !
With regards to your query, as per the business requirements of a company a company can have depots and plants for retail sales , and sales directly to customers from manufacturing plants.
For this there can be different codes for depots locations and plants and different storage locations respectively.
Also pricing may vary both for raw materials and FG, since manufacturing might be carried out under a contract agreement, scheduling agreement etc and retail sales may be at standard market rates.
Thus the pricing procedures would vary.
The norms for customer account groups and credit exposure would also vary.
    Plz reward points if helpful.

  • Difference between Mobile sales and Mobile Service

    Hi All
Can anybody help and explain me what are the major defferences between Mobile Sales and Mobile Service,What are the configuration settings required in Mobile Service,Because we have to start support project for Mobile Service.
    Regards
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna,
The difference is Mobile Service is used by field technicians who provide a service to customers. Eg: an engineer who goes out to customer site to fix machinery. They can fill out the deatils on the Mobile Service application. Time spent, parts used etc..
Sales is used by sales reps, who are selling a product.
The configuration is the same for both. In fact its possible to have bothe sales and service installed on the same machine.

  • Difference between Intercompany sales, thirdparty sales

where th eexact difference comes in configuration in third party sales, intercompany sales .explain with examples
    regards,
    cpdatt

    Hi,
Go through the explanation given below with test cases.
    Business case: -
Customer orders goods to company code/Sales organization A (Eg.4211/4211).Sales org 4211 will accept and punch the order in the system with sold to party as end customer code in the system. Company code/sales org B (Eg.4436) will deliver the goods to end customer and raise an intercom any billing on 4211 with reference to delivery. This can happen only after 4211 raises invoice to his end customer to whom the material has been delivered by 4436.
    SPRO Customization required:-
    1. Assign plant of delivering company code (Eg.SI81) to sales org/distribution channel combination of ordering company code (Eg.4211/RT)
    2. Maintain intercom any billing type as IV for sales document type OR
    3. Assign Organizational Units By Plant (Eg.SI81/4211/RT/11)
4.Define Internal Customer Number By Sales Organization (Eg.4436 will create customer master for 4211 company code and that number will be maintained in this relationship:-4211/231)
    5. Automatic posting to vendor account (Optional)
    6. Maintain pricing procedure determination for 4211/RT/A/1/RVAA01-For customer sales and billing
Maintain pricing procedure determination for 4436/RT/A/1/ICAA01-For intercompony billing
    Master data to be maintained:-
    1. Create end customer master in company code/sales org 4211/RT/11
    2. Create customer master for 4211 company code/sales org in 4436/RT/11
    3. Maintain PR00 as price for end customer-Active in RVAA01
    4. Maintain PI01 as price which has to be paid to 4436-Statistical in RVAA01
    5. Maintain IV01 as inter-company Price-Active in ICAA01
    Process:-
    1. Create OR with sold to party as end customer.
    2. Plant to be selected is delivering plant belonging to different company code. With this selection system will treat this order as intercomany sales.
    3. Pricing procedure is RVAA01
    4. With reference to this order delivery will be created from the delivering plant and post the goods issue for this delivery.
    5. Ordering sales org will create billing document F2 with reference to delivery for end customer.
    6. Delivering sales org will create intercompany billing IV with reference to delivery document.
I hope this helps you.Reward points if solution is useful.

  • Difference between US eliminations and "normal" intercompany eliminations?

    Hi,
Can a kind soul please explain the differences between intercompany eliminations and US eliminations please?
    Thanks

    Hi Varda ,
RDA is Real Time Data Acquisition . In this We can retrieve Live data . While using Normal DTP We can t pull live data
For example :- Today We have Create a 50 orders . This 50 order information pulled after completion of  sales order creation . we can t see live . But RDA process pulled the data at the point of sales order creation it self ,It support only Stranded DSO .It will use Some industries like FMCG.Retail, banking sector they want to know current data information from BI Side then RDA.

  • Difference between business area and sales area

    Hi
I am swetha i have one doubt
    1) what is the buisiness area and what purpose we use the business area
    2)  what is sales area and what purpose we use the sales area
3)what is the main Difference between business area and sales area.
    Regards
    Swetha

    Hii..
Business Areas in SAP are used to differentiate transactions originating from different points/lines/locations in business. Let me give some examples to elucidiate:-
A company (say, ABC) is a huge company and has a variety of businesses under it. Let us say that it typically operates in 3 different domains like machinery manufacturing, trading and assembling of machine parts.
There are 2 options here now -
    1. Either create different company codes for the 3 business operations (which would be the easiest and require no creativity)
    or
2.) Create each of these business lines into business areas (the better option).
The advantages of using the second option is:
    1. You can use these business areas if other company codes require the same areas
    2. The configuration is simpler as in case of company code, you would require to go through the entire configuration of creating Chart of Accounts, Fiscal Year variants, posting periods variants and so on. In the business area option, you just need to attach it to the company code and the rest of the details in Business area is attached by default from the company code you are using it in.
    3. Using the options in controlling (EC-PCA, Enterprise Controlling, Profit Centre Accounting), you can even draw up Balance Sheets and PL statements for your business areas and hence this is used for management accounting in some companies (like HP, Dell, etc) when it wants to know the operating profits for different business areas/lines.
The above was an example when the company wanted to separate entries according to the lines it operates in... the other case could be when it wants to find out profitability during its operations in cities and differentiates these cities into Business
    Areas...
Business Areas are not much relevant in FI but are much more relevant in CO.
    Hope this clears.

  • Difference between SAP MI and CRM Mobile Sales

    hi experts,
we need to understand difference between SAP MI and CRM mobiles sales solutions. what are SAP's  recommendations: where to use MI and where to use Mobile sales.
can some of you explain the pros and cons of each solution or let me know the place where i get such info.
    thanks in advance.
    RH

SAP MI apps are aimed at PDAs while CRM Mobile Sales is aimed (and can only work with) at laptops.
PDA solutions are mostly used by sales agents while the laptop solution is more suitable to account managers. The laptop has much more information available that includes:
    - Marketing planning and execution capabilities
    - Account Planning
    - BW Reporting
Mobile Sales for PDAs has more basic functionalities like order & activity management and business partner data maintenance (which are also included in the laptop version).

    http://www.sap-img.com/materials/mm-faq.htm
    Steps in configuring STO:
If you are referring to Inter company STO, pls follow the below steps.
    1) Create delivering plant as vendor in receiving plant’s company code & sales area – XK01
    2) From the vendor number created in step 1, create Vendor info record for the material that needs to be stock transferred.
    3) Ensure material is extended to both plants
    4) Delivering plant must be assigned to the receiving sales organization
    5) In the Vendor info record, go to MK03 and change the “add purchasing data” to delivering plant.
    6) Create receiving plant as customer in delivering plant’s company code & sales area.
    7) Ensure Purchase organization for the receiving plant is maintained
    8) Go to IMG- Materials Management-Purchasing-Purchase Order-Set up stock transport order ( transaction code:OMGN) and complete all the settings.
    Note:
Maintain receiving plant / customer number from step 6/ delivering sales area
Delivering plant/ customer number from step 6/ receiving sales area
Maintain NLCC replenishment for cross company stock transfer with delivery type NB
    9) ME25- Create Purchase Order from receiving plant
    10) VL10B - Create delivery order from delivering plant’s shipping point with reference to the purchase order number raised in step 9.
    Save.
    11) Go to VL02n & pick /post goods issue for the delivery order number created in step 10
    12) Do VF01 & bill to customer
In step 8 You have the option of UB type in place of NB
In step 10 you can also use VL04.
In step 12 you select F8 type (pro-forma invoice).

  • What is difference between u2018credit exposureu2019 and u2018credit limitu2019?

    Hi
    What is difference between u2018credit exposureu2019 and u2018credit limitu2019?
What transaction I can used for to see these tow information?
    best regard
    francoise

Credit exposure is total AR and open sales values.  Credit limit is used for block sales documents if the total exposure will exceed the credit limit. For Example:
      Credit Limit : 600
       Open AR ( Customer Balance) : 100
Customer Open Orders (Order Quantity have been confirmed, but no delivery document is created) : 100
Open Delivery (Delivery has been created, but no billing ) : 100
Open Billing (Billing is created, but has not release to Financial Accounting): 100
So far, the credit exposure is  400. If a new sales order is coming with value of 260, the sales order will be blocked, but the credit exposure is still 400.
Then if someone release the new sales order , then the credit exposure is 660.
Hope this is useful for you.

  • Difference between Transaction Figures and Line Items

    Hi,
I gone through FI like FI-GL,FI-AR,FI-AP..there i find...
Line Items & Transaction figures as main...like
    in FI we have
    Line Items - 0FI_GL_4,0FI_AR_4,0FI_AP_4 etc...
    Transaction Figures - 0FI_GL_6,0FI_AR_6,0FI_AP_6 etc...
    Now Can some please explain...
    what exactly Line Items are?
    What exactly Transaction Figures are?
How data flows from end to end in FI? i.e where exactly GL,AR,AP comes into picture..how they are internally related?
Some one please explain me in detail (with expamles if possible) and quick reply is much appreciated...
    Regards
    Ramsunder

    Hi
    What exactly  line items :
Line items are document items that were posted to a specific account. In contrast to a document item a line item only contains the information from the document that is relevant from the account view.
You can display the following line items:
Open items, Cleared items, Noted items, Parked items ,Items with special G/L transactions (in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable),Items with customer or vendor items (in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable)
You can display the line items for the following account types:  Customer accounts,Vendor accounts,G/L accounts.
    What exactly Transaction Figures are?
Transaction figures are the sums of line items on the debit or credit side. The balance is the difference between the debit and the credit transaction figure.
    If you take General ledger
AP records all accounting transactions for dealings with suppliers(Vendors). Much of its data is obtained from procurement (Materials Management).
AR records all accounting transactions for dealings with customers. Much of its data is obtained from Sales and Distribution.
Asset Accounting records all accounting transactions relating to the management of assets.
Travel Management manages and calculates travel costs and supports travel planning and travel expenses.
Bank ledger supports the posting of cash flows.

  • Feature set difference between FI-AR and FI-CA

    Hi,
While I am trying to do a comparison analysis between FI-AR/AP and FI-CA for Insurance Industry, I can deduce various facts like FI-CA been developed for transaction extensive industries like telecom/insurance which might often need automated processing (FI-AR appears to have more of manual processes for handling aspects of incoming payments) along with required performance. FI-AR/AP are more of standard Accounts receivable/payable module not necessarily catering to exact needs of industries mentioned above. Another major difference is the more flexible master data model FI-CA has to offer compared to FI-AR/AP.
However, I am not able to deduce clearly if there are corresponding features available in FI-AR/AP for specific features available in FI-CA for handling incoming & outgoing payments. e.g.:
    1) Is bank reconciliation supported in FI-AR/AP? Do we have mechanisms to upload electronic bank statement for the same?
    2) Does FI-AR provides varying features like different lot processing in FI-CA for bulk processing, Cash desk (i know this is not supported in FI-AR). The process of clearing appears to be very manual intensive.
    3) Similarly what is the support for payments (especially automated for bulk processing) in FI-AP?
    4) Assume other insurance industry specific features like brokers collection, collection agency collections, co-insurance specific features etc. are not supported in FI-AR/AP and no corresponding features would exist for obvious reasons.
Please suggest any other major differences between FI-CA and FI-AR/AP from an Insurance/Reinsurance industry perspective you may know of.
Thanks in advance for your time.
    Regards,
    Ankit

    Ravindra,
    1) Check the configuration.
Data from SD is posted to accounts (FI/PCA) via condition type -> accout key -> access sequence -> account.
Data from SD is posted to SIS via the mapping of condition type to key figures.
    2) Check if values are posted to sales accounts directly from FI. These will not reflect in SIS.

  • Difference between Scheduling lines and Delivery schedule

    Hi SD Experts
can u say me the clear difference between Scheduling lines and Delivery schedule.
where we will maintain deliver schedule. whether delivery schedule is automatically created along scheduling agreements..
    with regards
    James

    Hi James,
Schedule Lines: Has basically information realted to delivery scheduling in Sales Order level.
Delivery Scheduling: Is a process using which system will determine what are the different activities which need to be performed and time taken for each activitiy only after which the material can be delivered to the customer.
Delievry scheduling will be started only from the material availability date i.e., system will first determine the material avail date and then do scheduling. By default Standard SAP system does Backward Scheduling in case material availability falls beyond the required delivery date system will do forward schedluing
Delivery Scheduling consists of the following Basic activities:
We give deatils while creating order:
    Order Creation Date
    Required Delivery Date
Order date - Material availability date - Transportation Planning Date - Loading date - Goods Issue Date - Required Delivery Date
Time Between GI Date and required Delivery Date is called Transit Time
Time Between LoadingDate and GI Date is called Loading time
Time Between Material Availability Date and Loading Date consists of 2 components - Pick / PackTime and Transportation Planning Time
System has to calculate all this before it determines the confirmed delivery date.
Give your mail Id I have some Presentation I will send you across.
    REWARD POINTS IF IT HELPS

  • Important differences between oracle 10g and 11g

Hi friends, can anyone tell me (pointwise) what are the major (and minor) differences between Oracle 10g and 11g.
Please point me to some documents if possible.
    Thanks in advance

The name of the link says it all: "top_features."
In short it is Oracle's list of what they have for marketing and sales reasons designated "top features."
It is not intended to be, and is not, a complete list of features. Often the features Oracle does not
talk about are the most important.
Let me give you some examples. I have never seen Oracle announce DBMS_XPLAN as a new feature
yet you should not run an explain plan without it. Neither have I ever seen Oracle announce the new
NO_DATA_NEEDED predefined exception. I have listed literally hundreds of new features you will not
find in Oracle's new features docs.
I did a presentation at OpenWorld this year as part of the unconference titled "New Features in
Database 11gR2 that Oracle will not announce." It was easy to prepare a one hour presentation with
little fear of being proved incorrect. As I turned out only one of the features I presented was mentioned
    by Oracle.
You can find the presentation slides here:
