Difference between Macbook Pro "13 and "15

I was just wondering what other differnces are found in the Macbook Pro "13 and "15 Non retina other than the Screen size. Thanks

Graphics capability.
Besides the size, the 15" model has two GPUs, the one built into the regular Intel CPU and an extra one with way more oomph. Plus it has separate and dedicated VRAM just for the graphics, so the GPU and CPU don't do a battle royale for access to a shared memory. This really improves performance. You can also custom-order the widescreen display (essentially, half-a-Retina without the cost) and even the anti-glare option, essential for use outdoors. Plus many more configurable customization options.
13" models just have the piddly integrated GPU and shared memory. Very graphics demanding apps fall flat on their face in this platform.
Also, the 13" models have a single fan, vs. the two on the 15". So when used intensively, will run hotter by default. And the battery will last less since it is smaller: battery capacity is directly proportional to the volume.
But some people still prefer the smaller size and somewhat lighter weight.

This, Whats's the difference between MacBook Pro 13 and 13.3 ?

Firstly, you are not in MacBook Pro forum, so you need to get your bearings.
    2nd check the specs page

Then Bing/Google for reviews, Ars is always good but dozens have done one.
2011 brings Intel Sandy Bridge processor boards, Thunderbolt, SATA3 (6G) along with options for SSD and much more RAM (can save buying RAM and doing the upgrade yourself)

What is the difference between MacBook pro 2011 and 2012

understanding that at the time of the question, there has not been any Macbook Pro 2012, now it is later and there is.
    The difference is:
-CPU being used (2011 models: Sandy Bridge, 2012 models: Ivy Bridge)
    -Graphics (2011: intel 3000 + on 15"/17" ATI, 2012: intel 4000 + on 5"/17" nvidia Geforce 650M)
    -USB (2011: USB2.0 only, 2012: USB3.0)
    -Bluetooth (2011. 2.1 + EDR, 2012: 4.0)
Ivy Bridge CPUs are smaller and are a little bit more energy-efficient.
Other than that, currently the devices are not much different in respect to performance (Apple's graphics driver performance is known to increase during upgrades, though, so the performance gap may widen up)

  • What are the differences between MacBook Pro 2008 and MacBook Pro 2012?

AirPlay Mirror in OS X Mountain Lion, allows the user to connect a MacBook Pro to a TV using Apple TV, but only if the MacBook Pro is early 2011 or newer. My MacBook Pro is 2008, 2.5 GHz Core 2 Duo with 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. What am I missing that would allow me to use AirPlay Mirror, and is it possible for me to upgrade my MBP to early 2011 specs?

About four years of hardware change. You csnnot upgrade your hardware. You can simply buy a new computer or find an alternative:
    About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.
    Several Apple Articles Regarding AirPlay
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd gen)- How to use AirPlay Mirroring

About AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion
iTunes 10- About playing music with AirPlay

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs  that do not support Airplay and mirroring.
Another solution is the Air Parrot.

No difference other than one is for the Russian market. Specs on both are the same, standard Apple Store issue versions.
Of course the screen choice of anti-glare, glossy, high res or low res is not included.
The default is likely the cheap glossy and low res.

The "late 2008" macbook pro refers to the new 15 inch MBP currently out, and the early 2009 refers to it's big brother, the 17 inch which is due to come out in the near future.

  • Difference between logic pro 7 and 8

I'm just wondering if there's a difference between the Logic Studio ($500), and Logic Pro 8..or does Logic Pro 8 simply come within the Logic Studio package? Is there a big difference between Logic Pro 7 and 8? Also, is it worth the $200 upgrade?

    Hi,
Logic Studio: Logic Pro 8, Soundtrack Pro and MainStage.
So yes, Logic Pro 8 is part of the 'Logic Studio' package, which also contains the two other apps.

Take a look at the Logic Pro 8/Logic Studio forum. There are mixed opinions on whether it is worth upgrading yet or not.
    Good Luck!

  • Difference between Logic Pro 9 and Logic Studio?

I have garage band and I notice that the instruments available are extremely limited, so I am looking to upgrade solely for the idea of getting more instruments and more features. Does the app store Logic Pro 9 have the extensive amount of official instruments to download for free? Or are there additional costs if you are looking to purchase the instruments for the app store logic 9?
I know that the studio version has mainstage, compressor and other programs etc, but what I am looking to find out is if there is a difference between what instruments, resources and materials found in the $210 Logic 9 and the Logic Studio version that you can't download for free from inside Logic 9?
    Thanks

    Hi

The instruments themselves are embedded within the Logic application, with the exception of the sample libraries for the EXS24 and Ultrabeat. All of the content, including the various Jampacks and sample libraries are available to download

    No.... free

The "Studio" DVD's include the now defunct Soundtrack Pro, which had around 20G of loops, beds and sound FX. Some of that material is now available for Final Cut X.
A few utility programs are also missing (Waveburner etc).

  • Keeping mail accounts synchronized between MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad

I want to keep my email accounts synchronized between three devices (MacBook Pro, iPhone, and new iPad).
I use several Email accounts (personal use, business use, one for Internet purchases and newsletters, etc.)
My Email accounts include: MobileMe, Gmail, and two that are hosted by my telecommunications provider and these are POP3-based Email accounts.
I use Apple Mail as my primary Email program, and Gmail for the personal accounts. In Apple Mail, I make use of Folders to sort incoming messages.
I need recommendations on how best (and simplest) to keep everything synchronized between and among the three devices mentioned above. In addition, I can be more productive if I have the ability to use Folders/Labels for Email filing regardless of which device I am using.
I’m considering using Gmail as my primary Email program. It synchronizes easily with all three devices, and Gmail’s Folders/Labels do appear on the iPhone and the iPad. If I choose this route, I will need to find an effective way to back up Gmail, especially for my business-related messages.
I’d welcome any advice/recommendations from any of you. Thanks.

in pop there is a setting to leave the mail on the server ... I would have one main device that i used for managing .. ie. deleting email, and use the others for just reading. obviously the macbook would be the managing device ... but i have to say a laptop is not a great email manager because of the limited storage. alternatively you can start to use imap where all the email stays and is managed on the server, then your mobile-device-only lifestyle will work better and you do not have to worry about backups if your ISP takes care of that.
what i do at home is to have an iMac with a huge disk and store my stuff in the home directory, and then I can use other devices, that don't necessarily have to be apple, to read mail in the inbox. I just manage and archive on the iMac, or whatever would be the biggest machine. That way I also use time machine to keep backups in case I might lose something too.
your philosophy seems to be to stay mobile and light. i archive all my email forever ... at least anything I think is important or personal. just a different workflow i guess. in future i will move my mail folders to a readynas box with 12TB storage because of the size of multimedia is going to be getting bigger and bigger. Goggle's email already allows 20MB emails.
