Difference between MC46 date and actual consumption date
Hi,
I found there is always the date difference between the MC46 date for the last consumption and actual last posting date for consumption.
What could be the reason for that?
Or what is the date apprearing in MC46 if you click on triple line option.
Thanks in advance

Planned Delivery Date and Actual Delivery date.
Hi,
Is there a report in SAP which shows the delivery date of a PO line item and actual GR posting date from PO history in one report?
I need to display the planned delivery date and actual delivery date in one report, preferably in columns next to each other.
Thanks in advance.Hi
To my knowledge there is no such report. You will have to develop this report through ABAP help. You need to pick the planned delivery date from the PO and GR posting date from material document. Both this fields (EEIND & BUDAT) can be viewed in the PO history.
However, challenge will be when you have multiple delivery dates and receipt posting dates are for part quantities.

How to display planned movement date and actual movement date together?
Hi, Professionals,
My purpose is to list delayed outbound deliveries.
Anyone could tell me how to display planned movement date and actual movement date?
Appreciate your help.Thanks Shiva.
I tried another way to do it. It works only for a short period of time.
By using VL06O, I list all outbound deliveries by limiting both planned goods movement dates and actual goods movements dates to the same week I would like to inspect. Say both from 7th/11 to 14th/11.
then I list outbound delivery list with planned goods movement date to 7th/11 but left out actual goods movements dates this time.
In excel, I compare those two lists and filter out those unique ones because those unique documents means delayed deliveries which cannot delivery according to planned date.
However, the "delayed" list generated by this method has some noises. Not all of documents are really delayed although most of them do.
I'm also looking for a way to list sales documents number of these delayed delivery documents so i can retrieve order details from it such as order value.
Help still needed. -
I need just to know the difference between plan SKF and Actual SKF in business example and when I use one of them.
thanksHi Salaam,
Statistical Key Figure (SKF) is a base to allocate the cost between cost centers. Usually, common cost centers cost should allocate to respective department cost centers on monthly basis.
Some of SKFs are: Calculating floor rent on SFT, Telephone charges on No. of units, and employees head count is with "Each" in SAP.
Apart from Ajay's reply, you can consider the Canteen exp in an organization. Assume Admin, Fin and Mfg departments are getting food services from Canteen. Here, total monthly cost of Canteen exp should be allocated to respective departments. Here, we use SKF as total head count of each department and distribute the cost.
Planned SKF is what you planned on the beginning of a period. (Assume head count was planned as 30 in the month beginning)
Actual SKF is what exactly you consumed over the period. (Actual employees provided canteen services during the month is 25)

Difference between Consolidation, Harmonization and Central master data man
Hi ..Expertise
Consolidation is use to identify duplicate records and merge them into one record.
Harmonization is the process of pushing the new cleansed data back out to your partner systems.
Central master data management means you create records within MDM and then you distribute (Syndicate) this centrally created data to your Remote Systems.
My Question is her after Consolidation both Harmonization and Central master data management is doing the same thing i.e. sending the clean data to the other system. What is the difference between these two? Please explain me with an example or scenario..Hi Yugandhar,
There are three basic scenarios that we follow in MDM:
Data Consolidation
Data Harmonization
Central Master Data Management
Consolidation :
Conolidation (matching , normalization, cleansing) and storage of master data imported from client system. Entails capabilities to identify identical and similar objects spread across the local systems , build consolidated master data.
Key Capabilities:
1. Cleansing and de-duplication
2. Data normalization including categorization and taxonomy management
3. New interactive consolidation capabilities
Data Harmonization :
In case of Harmonization we generally aim at reaching high quality master data within heterogeneous system landscapes. Here the main focus is on ensuring high quality of master data within the connected systems and then distributing the Master data
Key Capabilities:
1. Automated synchronization of globally relevant master data information
2. New Interactive distribution capabilities
Central Master Data Management :
In case of CMDM, it is not always the scenario that the Client wants to go for the above two scenario`s, but CMDM is always required as it helps us to maintain the Business data effectively and efficiently.
After MDM is put into the business scenario all the operations related to the Master records are done in MDM only. For Eg: Creating a record, Deleting a record, Distributing a record etc.
Now it is the work of CMDM to centrally maintain the data and check that no duplicate enteries can be created.
And all the various systems that are attached to MDM gets the updates from CMDM with the help of Syndication Process or Distribution Process.
Key Capabilities:
1. Central creation and maintenance of data
2. Ongoing master data quality
Hope this would be helpful !!!!!!!!!

Difference between infinity checker and actual spe...
Hi,
A few months back my street became infinity enabled and the speedtester on the infinity page said i can/could get 53.3/15.7 so i signed up. I understand that i would not probably not receive the full amount the infinity checker quoted but i was slightly dissapointed when my line finally stabilized and i was receiving 43/7, however my previous broadband was only 3.8/0.7 i decided to not chase it.
Now after a month of it being stable at 43/7 it suddenly dropped to 36/7 and after 5 days at this speed i checked it and found the ip profiles of the line set at 36.64/20. I decided to contact BT via online chat and after a 2hr encounter with India there was no fault found on the line and i was told there was nothing they can do. So i guess my question is would you be happy recieving 36/7 when the initial speedcheck (which does not say estimate as far as i can see) was 53/15?On installation it was a lot lower than the estimate which could indicate a faulty install, or just a bad estimate.
As the speed has now dropped, this could also be the same or different fault.
Keep your eye on it, if it drops to half the installation speed then that to me would indicate a fault.
Is there any noise on the phone?

Actual Start Date vs Actual End Date - Activity
In an Activity, I would like to seperately enter the Actual Start Date and Actual End Date.
- If I try this using (partial) confirmation, I receive a pop-up with an error that the two dates must be entered together or no dates can be entered.
The activity in my project can take over a year to complete and the requirement is to confirm start (at start) and to confirm end (at end).
Does anyone know of a solution for this issue?
Thanks in advance!Hi Patrick,
I think you need to research a bit more on confirmations in PS. Actual dates in partial confirmations are practically interpreted as provisional actual start dates and actual finish dates. The actual start for the activity remains the same however the actual finish date is overwritten once the final confirmation is entered.
For example, take an activity with start date 05.09.2011 and finish date as 14.09.2011. Now when you provide confirmations on a daily basis, you can use the following strategy:
Day 1, 05.09.2011: actual start 05.09.2011, actual finish 05.09.2011, % complete 10%
Day 1, 06.09.2011: actual start 05.09.2011, actual finish 06.09.2011, % complete 20%
Day 1, 07.09.2011: actual start 05.09.2011, actual finish 07.09.2011, % complete 25%
Only when you provide the final confirmation the actual finish date is confirmed. The various confirmation line items may be viewed via CN48N.

What is the difference between delivery date and actual goods issue date?
Hi ,
Can you please tell me the difference between Delivery date and Actual goods issue date ?
Delivery data can be be greater than goods issue date?
Thanks,
AjayHi Ajay,
Delivery date means its the original date on which the delivery should be done.Actual goods Issue date is the date on which goods to be delivered according to the purchase order. There can be delay in the delivery so we maintain 2 objects.
Yes delivery date can be greater than Goods Issue date.
Hope this clears

The difference between FIELD-SYMBOL and normal DATA TYPE
Dear experts,
Please see the example below, both are output the same result.
DATA: EXTERNAL_RECORD(4000),
POSITION TYPE I,
LENGTH TYPE N,
ENTRY TYPE STRING.
EXTERNAL_RECORD = '0005Smith0007Edwards0005Young'.
DO.
LENGTH = EXTERNAL_RECORD+POSITION(4).
IF LENGTH = 0.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
ADD 4 TO POSITION.
MOVE EXTERNAL_RECORD+POSITION(LENGTH) TO ENTRY.
WRITE ENTRY.
ADD LENGTH TO POSITION.
IF POSITION >= 4000.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
ENDDO.
--OR It can be written as--
DATA: EXTERNAL_RECORD(4000),
POSITION TYPE I,
LENGTH TYPE N.
FIELD-SYMBOLS <ENTRY>.
EXTERNAL_RECORD = '0005Smith0007Edwards0005Young'.
DO.
LENGTH = EXTERNAL_RECORD+POSITION(4).
IF LENGTH = 0.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
ADD 4 TO POSITION.
ASSIGN EXTERNAL_RECORD+POSITION(LENGTH) TO <ENTRY>.
WRITE <ENTRY>.
ADD LENGTH TO POSITION.
IF POSITION >= 4000.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
ENDDO.
Is there any special circumstances we need to use FIELD-SYMBOL?
Why is FIELD-SYMBOL is introduce in the first place?
Kindly advice with example.
Thanks in advance for those who can help me on this.HI,
You can use field symbols to make the program more dynamic. In this example the name of a table control is substituted by a field symbol. Thus you cal call the form with any internal table, using the name of the table control as a parameter.
Example
form insert_row
using p_tc_name.
field-symbols <tc> type cxtab_control. "Table control
assign (p_tc_name) to <tc>.
insert 100 lines in table control
<tc>-lines = 100.
Field symbols allow you to:
** Assign an alias to a data object(for example, a shortened
name for data objects structured through several hierarchies
- <fs>-f instead of rec1-rec2-rec3-f)
** Set the offset and length for a string variably at runtime
** Set a pointer to a data object that you determine at runtime (dynamic ASSIGN)
** Adopt or change the type of a field dynamically at runtime
** Access components of a structure
** (from Release 4.5A) Point to lines of an internal table
(process internal tables without a separate work area)
Field symbols in ABAP are similar to pointers in other programming
languages. However, pointers (as used in PASCAL or C) differ from ABAP
field symbols in their reference syntax.
The statement ASSIGN f to <fs> assigns the field f to field
symbol <fs>. The field symbol <fs> then "points" to the
contents of field f at runtime. This means that all changes to the
contents of f are visible in <fs> and vice versa. You declare
the field symbol <fs> using the statement FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs>.
Reference syntax
Programming languages such as PASCAL and C use a dereferencing symbol
to indicate the difference between a reference and the object to which
it refers; so PASCAL would use p^ for a pointer instead of p, C would
use *p instead of p. ABAP does not have any such dereferencing symbol.
** In PASCAL or C, if you assign a pointer p1 to a pointer p2,
you force p1 to point to the object to which p2 refers (reference semantics).
** In ABAP, if you assign a field symbol <fs1> to a field
symbol <fs2>, <fs1> takes the value of the data object to
which <fs2> refers (value semantics).
** Field symbols in ABAP are always dereferenced, that is,
they always access the referenced data object. If you want to
change the reference yourself in ABAP, you can use the ASSIGN statement
to assign field symbol <fs1> to field symbol <fs2>.
Using field symbols
You declare field symbols using the FIELD-SYMBOLS statement.
They may be declared either with or without a specific type.
At runtime you assign a field to the field symbol using the ASSIGN
statement. All of the operations on the field symbol act on the field
assigned to it.
When you assign a field to an untyped field symbol, the field symbol
adopts the type of the field. If, on the other hand, you want to assign
a field to a typed field symbol, the type of the field and that of the
field symbol must be compatible.
A field symbol can point to any data object and from Release 4.5A,
they can also point to lines of internal tables.
The brackets (<>) are part of the syntax.
Use the expression <fs> IS ASSIGNED to find out whether the field
symbol <fs> is assigned to a field.
The statement UNASSIGN <fs> sets the field symbol <fs> so
that it points to nothing. The logical expression <fs>
IS ASSIGNED is then false. The corresponding negative expression
is IF NOT <fs> IS ASSIGNED.
An unassigned field symbol <fs> behaves as a constant with
type C(1) and initial value SPACE.
MOVE <fs>
TO dest Transfers the initial value SPACE to the variable dest
MOVE 'A' to <fs>
Not possible, since <fs> is a constant
(runtime error).
To lift a type restriction, use the CASTING addition in the
ASSIGN statement. The data object is then interpreted as though
it had the data type of the field symbol. You can also do this
with untyped field symbols using the CASTING TYPE <type> addition.
The danger with pointers is that they may point to invalid areas.
This danger is not so acute in ABAP, because the language does not
use address arithmetic (for example, in other languages, pointer p
might point to address 1024. After the statement p = p + 10, it would
point to the address 1034). However, the danger does still exist, and
memory protection violations lead to runtime errors.
A pointer in ABAP may not point beyond a segment boundary. ABAP does
not have one large address space, but rather a set of segments.
Each of the following has its own segment:
* All global data
* All local data
* Each table work area (TABLES)
* Each COMMON PART
You should only let field symbols move within an elementary field or
structure where ABAP allows you to assign both within the global data
and beyond a field boundary.

Differences between Oracle BAM and Oracle BI and Question BAM Data Objects
Hi,
I have two questions.
1. Can someone tell me differences between Oracle BAM and Oracle BI?
My understanding about Oracle BAM is, we use BAM to build Dashboards or Reports.
We can also build DashBoards or reports using Oracle BI.
I am not able to understand why Oracle has two tools for same purpose?
Which tool is more powerful and user friendly(Oracle BI or Oracle BAM)?
2. Every time we plan to develop Dashboard or report in BAM, we need to create BAM ADC Data Object to store Data (i.e first step is to get data from external database or application and second step is to store data in BAM ADC data object).
My understanding is we have an extra step(i.e creating Data Object) in Oracle BAM to develop a report or DashBoard
I am wrong pl correct me?

Difference between "Database Variant To Data" and "Variant To Data"
Can anyone tell me the differnce between the 2 VI's "Database Variant To Data" and "Variant To Data"?
I am using the database connectivity toolset and making a query.
I have tried using both, but the give me the same result.
Attachments:
Variant to Data.JPG 45 KBYou won't see a difference between these two functions with just a string or other simple data types. Where you'll see a difference is with clusters and more complex data types that come from the database. The variants returned by databases can be slightly different than the standard variant. That is where the Database Variant To Data is needed. Otherwise, if you are just reading string information, either function will work fine.
