Difference between NI-ImaqDX Vs 1394 Legacy

In the project that I'm making with RT for desktop and firewire cameras, I'm using NI-ImaqDX, shall I continue with this or shall I use the 1394 legacy?
What are the diference between them?
Thanks in advance
Paulo Carmo

Hello,
You've better use the NI-IMAQdx functions, whitch are the most recent ones, IMAQ 1394 is now considered as a legacy, still here for those who developped there entire application with these VIs.
But normaly you can use both of them with a preference for NI-IMAQdx.
Here is a link to a doc that explains (maybe in a better way) what i'm trying to say.
Hope this helped,

  • Difference between Firewire Cable IEEE 1394-Firewire IEEE 1394a-IEEE 1394b

I want to buy a 6 ft firewire cable 800 9-pin/9-pin to connect my Macbook Pro to an extrernal HD (G-Technology mini 500 GB)
I'm not sure what all the different IEEE #'s mean- IEEE 1394, IEEE 1394a, IEEE 1394b
Various reviews state not to buy cable that is all plastic at end since it breaks off. Some cables do not make good connection and fall out while others malfunction quickly.
    I have MacBook Pro(13 inch), Snow Leopard installed, OS X 10.6.2, 2.53. GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Any suggestions which brand firewire I should buy with which IEEE?
    Thanks

On the back of your G-drive you're likely to see the label firewire 800, I believe that is what that drive uses. So does your MBP.
What you need is a firewire 1394b cable 9-pin to 9-pin, if you're worried about the brand you might try Cables-to-go, they sell good cable.
    http://www.cablestogo.com/productlist.asp?catid=612
1394a is for the 400Mbps standard and the 1394b is for the 800Mbps standard.
The firewire that is on your MBP is 1394b and it's backward compatible to 1394a devices. If you ever need to connect a device that is for 1394a (400Mbps) then you'll need a cable that is 9-pin on one end and 6 or 4-pin on the other, which ever of the two the device uses.

What is the difference between LTE mode, CDMA mode, LTE/legacy 3GGPP mode, and Global mode in Preferred Network?

        Great question alczervik!
    LTE- is our 4G network.
All CDMA/LTE Legacy are going to be related to our 1X, 3G/ EVDO network.
Global is GSM. Meaning you can use Internationally.
    I hope this helps.

  • Difference between IN LEGACY TEXT MODE & TEXT MODE ENCODING NON-UNICODE

    Hi,
We're upgrading to ECC5 and the 'open dataset' command needs amending if the program is flagged for Unicode (which usually occurrs in user/fm exits). Therefore is ECC5 this command is no longer valid:
"open dataset DSN in text mode"
We currently interface with systems that may not have unicode enabled. Yet we have not enabled unicode in our own system just yet.
So we think these two commands are the most approriate for replacing the 'old' open dataset command:
"open dataset DSN for input in TEXT MODE encoding NON-UNICODE"
"open dataset DSN in LEGACY TEXT MODE for input"
However we're not really sure what the difference between these two commands is?
Has anyone worked with these commands?
Could you offer some help as to their differences and when each should be used?
    Many thanks!

    Hi Robert,
Here is an excerpt from sap documentation.
    ... TEXT MODE ENCODING {DEFAULT|UTF-8|NON-UNICODE}
    Effect:
The addition IN TEXT MODE opens the file as a text file. The addition ENCODING defines how the characters are represented in the text file. When writing in a text file, the content of a data object is converted to the representation entered after ENCODING, and transferred to the file. If the data type is character-type and flat, trailing blanks are cut off. In the data type string, trailing blanks are not cut off. The end-of-line marking of the relevant platform is applied to the transferred data by default. When reading from a text file, the content of the file is read until the next end-of-line marking, converted from the format specified after ENCODING into the current character format, and transferred to a data object.
The end-of-line marking depends on the operating system of the application server. In the MS Windows operating systems, the markings "CRLF" and " LF" are possible, while under Unix, only "LF" is used. If, when using Windows, an existing file is opened without the TYPE addition (see os_addition), the first end-of-line marking is found and used for the whole file. If a new file is created without the TYPE addition, the content of the profile parameter abap/NTfmode is used. If the profile parameter is not set, "CRLF" is used. If a file with the TYPE addition is opened and a valid value is contained in attr, this value is used.
In Unicode programs, only the content of character-type data objects can be transferred to text files and read from text files. The addition ENCODING must be specified in Unicode programs, and can only be omitted in non-Unicode programs.
The additions after ENCODING determine in which character representation the content of the file is handled.
    DEFAULT
In a Unicode system, the designation DEFAULT corresponds to the designation UTF-8, and the designation NON-UNICODE in a non-Unicode system.
    UTF-8
The characters in the file are handled according to the Unicode character representation UTF-8.
    NON-UNICODE
In a non-Unicode system, the data is read or written without being converted. In a Unicode system, the characters in the file are handled according to the non-Unicode-codepage that would be assigned to the current text environment according to the database table TCP0C, at the time of reading or writing in a non-Unicode system.
If the addition ENCODING is not specified in non-Unicode programs, the addition NON-UNICODE is used implicitly.
... LEGACY TEXT MODE [{BIG|LITTLE} ENDIAN] [CODE PAGE cp]
    Effect:
Opening a Legacyfile. The addition IN LEGACY TEXT MODE opens the file as a legacy text file. As with legacy binary files, the byte order and the codepage with which the content of the file should be handled can also be specified. The syntax and meaning of {BIG|LITTLE} ENDIAN and CODE PAGE cp are the same as for legacy binary files.
In contrast to legacy binary files, the trailing blanks in a legacy file are cut off when writing character-type flat data objects in a legacy text file. As for a text file, an end-of-line marking is also applied to the transferred data. In contrast to text files opened with the addition INTEXT MODE, Unicode programs do not check whether the data objects used for reading or writing are character-type. Furthermore, the LENGTH additions of the statements READ DATASET and TRANSFER are used for counting in bytes in legacy text files and in the units of a character represented in the memory for text files.
    Note:
As with legacy binary files, text files that have been written in a non-Unicode system can be accessed in Unicode systems as legacy text files, and the content is converted accordingly.
    Example
A file test.dat is created as a text file, filled with data, changed, and exported. As every TRANSFER statement applies end-of-line marking to written content, after the change, the content of the file has two lines. The first line contains "12ABCD". The second line contains "890". The character "7" has been overwritten by the end-of-line marking of the first line.
DATA: file   TYPE string VALUE `test.dat`,
          result TYPE string.
OPEN DATASET file FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    TRANSFER `1234567890` TO file.
    CLOSE DATASET file.
OPEN DATASET file FOR UPDATE IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT
                                 AT POSITION 2.
    TRANSFER `ABCD` TO file.
    CLOSE DATASET file.
OPEN DATASET file FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    WHILE sy-subrc = 0.
      READ DATASET file INTO result.
      WRITE / result.
    ENDWHILE.
    CLOSE DATASET file.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • What is the difference between LH and LX modules?

I would like to know the difference between LX and LH SFP modules. Long Haul ( LH ) denotes longer distances while Long Wavelength ( LX ) denotes less energy which is obviously shorter distance. Why does Cisco use both LX and LH for certain SFP modules?
Do they denote the capability of the module to work both for MM ( which will be Long wavelength ) and SM ( Long Haul ) fiber? Do correct me if i am wrong.
What does it infer if a modules says like "Cisco 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP" ?

What does it infer if a modules says like "Cisco 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP
Generally a module is either made for single mode (More distance) / multimode (short distance). But this module can be used for both Single mode and Multimode.
If used with SM fiber it can go upto 10Km
It used with MM it can go upto 550meters (depend on what kind os MM fiber you have) You need a mode conditioning patch chord too with legacy MM i think OM1 and 2.
Long Haul ( LH ) denotes longer distances while Long Wavelength ( LX ) denotes less energy which is obviously shorter distance. Why does Cisco use both LX and LH for certain SFP modules
Read this link and dont worry about LX/LH (You will ge tthe distance mentiond above depending on the type of fibe ryou are using)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabit_Ethernet
Before it was standardized 1000BASE-LX10 was essentially already in widespread use by many vendors as a proprietary extension called either 1000BASE-LX/LH or 1000BASE-LH

  • On OXS 10.8.2, difference between Quicktime and Quicktime 7 Pro ?

I just bought Quicktime 7 Pro however having a hardtime activating and getting it to work. Before buying it, I noticed the default install of OSX 10.8.2 had a Quicktime player. However, to get Quciktime 7 Pro, I read somewhere that I needed to install Quicktime 7, then plug in the registration code.
So after purchasing, I downloaded Quicktime 7. I could see the Quicktime Pro items in its menu ( with "HD" prefixes). I then went into the registration window and plugged in my name and code  - exactly as shown on the store receipt - nothing happens. The Registration popup window shows a Quicktime Pro logo, but all the menu items for Quicktime Pro has disappeared. The menu items looks exatly like the old quicktime 7! with no new items.
    Did I miss something?
What is the difference between the Quicktime Player installed by default with OSX 10.8.2 and Quicktime 7?

The menu items looks exatly like the old quicktime 7! with no new items.
No new menu options are added by keying QT 7 for "Pro" use. However, some options that were previously unaccessible (grayed out) will now be accessible. For instance, can you now open the "Properties" window (under the "Windows" menu) when a file is loaded in the QT 7 player app? If so, then the app is correctly keyed for "Pro" use.
    Did I miss something?
Hard to say without actually seeing your system. Did you follow the instructions listed under the "Additional Information" heading on this web page?
What is the difference between the Quicktime Player installed by default with OSX 10.8.2 and Quicktime 7?
QT X is Apple's attemt to modernize QT by completely rewriting it to make better use of newer and more efficient video tecnologies—unfortunately, at the cost of compatibility with "legacy" video technologies and editing features developed over a two decade period of QT evolution. As such, QT X is still in its infancy and, on the one hand, still lacks many of the features and capabilities now taken for granted in QT 7 Pro (like layer compositing of content at the track level), and, on the other, adding new features (like the playback of "transport stream" files or native support for MPEG-2 GOP and AC3 content) which are not possible in QT 7.

  • What are the major differences between BODS and Talend ?

    Hi Friends,
We had a client meeting 2 days back regarding BODS project, But our client is showing more interest on Talend. We have explained/demo him on BODS.  Could any one please tell me, What are the major differences between BODS and Talend ? What are the features of BODS which are not there in TELEND ?
    Thanks,
    Bheem.

    Hi,
If you talk difference than Talend is an open source. SAP DS as huge advantage when it comes to loading data into SAP and it is more flexible with lots of inbuilt features and easy to load data into SAP using DS directly and extracting data from various legacy systems.

  • Difference between ECC 6.0 and earlier versions

    Hi,
one of the difference between ECC 6.0 and earlier versions is that instead 'WS_UPLOAD'  and 'WS_DOWNLOAD' in ECC we should use 'GUI_UPLOAD' and 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'  respectively.
(of course SPDD and SPRO tcodes is known by everone i suppose)
Similarly can u all put down some differences here, atleast one entry by each, I think we can make a good docu. I have searched the net for the differences but could not get much, so by each of us contributing one each, it would become good docu..for all of us.
    Thanx in advance

  • Difference Between BAPI And RFC in ABAP

    Hi,
i want to know difference between BAPI and RFC in SAP,
can we call SAP GUI screen from NON SAP System Using BAPI.
    Reg,
    Hariharan

    Hi Ravishankar,
The difference is not importat while you understand the concept.
I think, RFC is the protocol for calling functions from external systems in R/3.
I understand like BAPI a series of complet functions that SAP offers you for use and model a business use.
But if I need program a function that can be called for external system i would call it RFC_NAME, because is a unique function that makes a single task.
In other words, the difference i think is about work idea more than another thing.
    RFC
A remote function call is a call to a function module running in a system different from the caller's. The remote function can also be called from within the same system (as a remote call).
RFC consists of two interfaces : A calling interface for ABAP Programs and a calling interface for Non-SAP programs.
The RFC Interface takes care of :-

    BAPI
BAPIs are standardized programming interfaces (methods) enabling external applications to access business processes and data in the R/3 System.
BAPIs provide stable and standardized methods to achieve seamless integration between the R/3 System and external applications, legacy systems and add-ons.
BAPIs are defined in the BOR(Business object repository) as methods of SAP business object types that carry out specific business functions.
BAPIs are implemented as RFC-enabled function modules and are created in the Function Builder of the ABAP Workbench.
The most critical difference btwn BAPI and FM is that BAPI can be wrapped in Business objects whereas RFC cant.
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
GetDetail() With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method. BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
Cancel ( ) Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( ) The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

  • Difference between G/L Balance and Inventory Audit Report

    Hi All,
while checking the G/L ledger for Inventory account and the Inventory Audit report, there is a difference between the amounts posted. The closing balance till 31/03/09 is fine but afterwards the balance is not matchin at all. I hav tried to check between various posting dates but still there are differences. Any suggestions why there are differences and how should i check them??
    Thanks in advance,
    Joseph

The GL account and the Inventory audit report will not tie for a couple of reasons:
    - You have posted directly (JE) to your Inventory account.  These amount since they are NOT tied to a Item in a transaction will not appear in the Inventory audit report.  The Inventory account(s) should be treated like a control account (enthough they
cannot be set as one in SAP B1) and should not be posted to directly outside of the Item Inventory Transaction (GRPO, AP Inv, AR INV, DN, AR CM, AP CM, etc...) I have alos seen these posting when GL determinations are setup incorretly or when users use the inventory account in Stock Posting (staock taking) transactions
    - you have legacy issues resulting in audit report entries relating back to pre SP01 2005 days.
To get these details analyzed by SAP for free along with the recomended corrections please contact your partner for a free Inventory Verification analysis   Your partner can take a copy of your DB backup and create a support message under SBO-MM-IVC and SAP support will analyse these differenes and show you the recommended changes.
    hope this helps

  • Difference between BAPI and BADI

    Hi,
Can anyone explain the difference between BAPI and BADI?

    Hi Naveen,
BAPI - It is nothing, but a FM which is used to load the data into SAP system. The data may be from the Legacy system.
BADI - They are the enhancement which can be applied to the standard SAP program as per the business requirement. BADI are the newer version of user exits which uses ABAP OOPs concept.
Revert back if you have further query.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Differences between LSMW and BDC

    Hi All
Please can you give me the few points about the differences between LSMW and BDC?
    Awaiting for your Responce
    Praveen

Hai Check with the following document
    GOOD
THERE IS THREE TYPE OF METHOD IN BDC
    BDC SESSION
    CALL TRANSACTION
    CALL DIALOG
What is BDC or batch input
The Batch Input is a SAP technic that allows automating the input in transactions. It lies on a BDC (Batch Data Commands) scenario.
    BDC functions:
    · BDC_OPEN_GROUP : Opens a session group
    · BDC_CLOSE_GROUP : Closes a session
    · BDC_INSERT : Insert a BDC scenario in the session
    · The ABAP statement "CALL TRANSACTION" is also called to run directly a transaction from its BDC table.
It runs the program RSBDCSUB in order to launch automatically the session. The session management is done through the transaction code SM35.
The object itself is maintanable through the transaction SE24.
    BDC methods:
    Method
    Description
    Parameters
    OPEN_SESSION
    Opens a session
SUBRC (Return Code – 0 OK)
    SESSIONNAME (Session to be created)
    CLOSE_SESSION
    Closes a session
    None
    RESET_BDCDATA
    Resets the BDC Internal Table...
    None. Normally, for internal purpose…
    BDC_DYNPRO
    Handles a new screen
    PROGNAME (Name of the program)
    DYNPRONR (Screen Number)
    BDC_FIELD
Puts a value on the screen
    FIELDNAME (Name of the field)
    FIELDVALUE (Value to be passed)
    CONSTRUCTOR
    Constructor - Initializes NO_DATA
NODATA (No data character). The constructor is called automatically when the object is created.
    RUN_SESSION
    Launches a session with RSBDCBTC
    None
    CALL_TRANSACTION
Calls a transaction with the current BDC Data
    MODE (Display Mode)
    UPDATE (Update Mode)
    TCODE (Transaction to be called)
    BDC_INSERT
Inserts the BDC scenario in the session
    TCODE (Transaction to be called)
    BDC techniques used in programs:
    1) Building a BDC table and calling a transaction,
    2) Building a session and a set of BDC scenarios and keeping the session available in SM35,
    3) Building a session and lauching the transaction right after closing the session.
    BDC using Call Transaction
BDC using Call transaction involves calling an SAP transaction in back ground from within the ABAP
program. The process involves building an Internal BDC table containing the screen information needed to
execute the required transaction and then passing this to the Call transaction command (See code example).
The full procedure for creating a BDC program is as follows:
What is the difference between batch input and call transaction in BDC?
    Session method.
    1) synchronous processing.
    2) can tranfer large amount of data.
    3) processing is slower.
    4) error log is created
    5) data is not updated until session is processed.
    Call transaction.
    1) asynchronous processing
    2) can transfer small amount of data
    3) processing is faster.
    4) errors need to be handled explicitly
    5) data is updated automatically
    BATINPUT/DIRECT INPUT
A: Batch-inputs can not be used to fill the "delivery due list" screen because it is not a dynpro. This is a standard SAP report. A SAP report (check with "System -> Status") may be called using SUBMIT sentence with the appropriate options . It is preferred to call a report than create a Batch-input program.

The LSM Workbench is an SAP R/3 based tool that supports the one-time or periodic transfer of data from non-SAP systems ("legacy systems") to SAP systems.
The LSM Workbench helps you to organize your data migration project and guides you through the process by using a clear sequence of steps.
The most common conversion rules are predefined. Reusable conversion rules assure consistent data conversion for different data objects.
    LSMW vs DX Workbench
The LSM Workbench covers the following steps:
Read the legacy data from one or several files (e.g. spreadsheet tables, sequential files).
Convert the data from source format to target format.
Import the data using standard interfaces (Batch Input, Direct Input, BAPI, IDoc).
Experiences made in successful implementation projects have shown that using the LSM Workbench significantly contributes to accelerating data migration.
SAP provides this tool along with documentation to customers and partners free of charge.
Users of the LSM Workbench receive the usual support via SAP Net - R/3 Frontend (component BC-SRV-DX-LSM).
    Releases:
Version 1.7.2 of the LSM Workbench ("LSMW 1.7.2") available
    Attention : LSMW 1.7.2 requires an SAP R/3 system with SAP R/3 4.0 or SAP R/3 4.5.
Version 1.8.0 of the LSM Workbench (1.21mb) ("LSMW 1.8.0") available
Attention : LSMW 1.8.0 requires an SAP R/3 system with SAP R/3 4.6.
Version 3.0 of the LSM Workbench (1.89mb) ("LSMW 3.0") available for Web Application Server 6.10
Attention : LSMW 3.0 requires a SAP WAS 6.10. Functionality of version 1.7.2 and 3.0 are identical !
Version 4.0 of the LSM Workbench ("LSMW 4.0") integrated in Web Application Server 6.20
Attention : LSMW 4.0 is an integrated part of SAP WAS 6.20.

  • Differences between mcp and mcp t sound

this is all sound sound info direct from a man at nvidia who knows
PLEASE NOTE ONLY MCP2-T BOARD MSI DO AT THE MOMMENT IS THE K7N2G-ILSR
The MCP has no hardware support for audio of any kind, period. Windows and the CPU do all the audio work on that part and there is absolutely no DSP, NVIDIA or otherwise, in that chip to help out. Try to do EAX, any kind of reverb or chorus, or a music preset on those boards and you'll see the CPU usage climb. Ditto if you add more voices to the mix: CPU usage goes up.
The MCP-T has a full hardware audio DSP, hardware acceleration for 2D and 3D streams, and Dolby Digital encode support. EQs, HRTFs, and all environmental settings are exposed and modifiable by the user. None of this is available on the soft solutions due to the heavy hit on the CPU if they were enabled.
Short of that, you can try to use the ASIO or OpenAL drivers. You'll find that neither will work on the MCP because there is no supporting hardware for them. In short, there is no way to coax an MCP to be an APU capable part, the support simply isn't in the chip
    Here's the chip differences:
    MCP has the following:
    - ATA-133 x 2 ports
    - USB 1.0/1.1/2.0 x 6 ports
    - NVIDIA MAC 10/100 x 1 port
    - Legacy I/O bus (PS2, Printer, Serial)
    - AC 97 host based audio (no DSP)
MCP-T includes the above and adds the following:
    - 3Com MAC 10/100 x 1 port
    - 1394A Firewire MAC x 3 ports
    - NVIDIA APU with Dolby Digtal Encoder

thats not to say mcp is bad as this proves
The MCP2 is definately hardware sound. As far as the APU goes the only difference between MCP2 and MCP2-T is the T version has Soundstorm(Dolby Digital). Basically Mcp2-T =5.1 digital output capabilities Mcp2 no digital output, analogue output only. The other differences are the T version Has Dual Lan support and a firewire controller which the plain MCP2 does not. Here are my cpu utilization test results from Audio winbench proving that The MCP2 APU is a hardware APU.
