Administrator tool consists of 3 layers
Physcial layer:-It is typically first layer built in the repository.Contains objects representing the physical data sources to which the BI server submits queries.It may conatin multiple data sources.The common way is to import metadat from different databases.You can define joins after import if they are not defined.
Business model and mapping layer:-It is defined as business or logical models of data and specifies the mapping between the physical and business layers.This is where the physical schemas are simplified to form the basis for the end user.We can say data is seperated into facts and dimension tables
Presentation layer:-simplifies and organizes the business model to make it easy for users to understand and query

Good question. Digging through the tabook http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf it looks like a warranty difference. AR models have a GMP (Global Models Plus) warranty. I think...
I haven't been able to dig up exactly what that means so far, but hopefully some else will join in and explain.

Difference between data logic operation and business operation

hiii, DI core, main component of DI API, performs all <b>data logic operaton</b> where as OBServer.dll perform <b>bussiness logic operation</b> at database level...

Hi Nirdesh,
The DI API offers a number of objects/methods that allow you to access the information stored in the database (tables) by using objects.
The DI API is represented by the SboBobCOM.dll, in your code you only add a reference to this COM dll. This dll offerst the objects/methods you can access.
The SbobobCOM.dll is using the OBServer.dll, this dll contains all the business logic rules (like for example: you cannot delete a BusinessPartern if it has already some documents created) that will control all actions you are trying to do with the DI API methods/objects.
You have a schema representing both dlls in the DI API help file -> Introduction -> DI API components section.

1. Firsty, logical model and physical model are the terms ,which we generally use in the context of database modelling excercise.
2. Coming to essbase, I am not sure ,what exactly you are trying to co relate . but as you termed 'partitions'. There is one of the types in partitioning called 'Transparent Partition'. Where, you have one cube ( which has data in it) and you can have one mroe cube ( which actually has no data in it). But it can be connected to the former cube with the help of transparent partition. This way, you have 2 cubes , but only one cube has data in it.

Importing logical and physical model from Sybase power designer/Erwin

We have several models created in Sybase Power designer, logical and as a well as physical. Is there a way to directly import models into Oracle designer?

Hi Syed,
ERwin has a facility to export to Designer 2000. Of course you're probably not using Designer 6.0 or earlier so it's of little use.
I have been looking at a couple of tools for importing from ERwin: Reischmann Informatiks TOOLBUS Interface for Oracle Designer and ALLFusion ERwin; and Meta Integration Technologys Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB). Neither product is free (nor inexpensive) but if you've got a number of models to convert then the tools seem cheap by comparison. Also, none of the products that I've looked at recreate the actual diagrams (not that I expected them to).
I am leaning towards TOOLBUS as it provides more complete migration of Logical and Physical models (especially the linkages between the models) using Oracle Designers API rather than a DAT file as provided by MIMB.

If I export only logical model ( file --> export --> To design Data Modeler) . Oracle Data Modeler open all relational and physical model, if I have 100 relational model open all, and this is very resource.

The dummy client partner profiles should have been generated by the automatic generation process completed previously. Nevertheless, these should be checked to ensure that all profiles exist.
Generation of Partner Profiles
The following messages should be added to the 4xx-ORDR model for ALExxxCyyy to DUMxxxCyyy on the reference client:

The partner profiles should first be generated using the standard auto-generation procedure on the reference client (for SYNCH messages to be created).

When you send a meeting invite in ical, does the recipient receive a different icon in their inbox to differentiate from an email?

For service stock you can't tell the difference between a new iPad and a refurbished one. Both will come in a plain brown box with the same pattern in model numbers. If you mean between a refurbished one and one new at retail, then other than the obvious difference in packaging, I've read that the model number on refurbished units starts with the letter "F", though I've not confirmed that.

We can look at differences in more than one way:
1. Technology wise
MDM5.5 is developed in C++ & runs on a C++ engine as compared to MDM 3.0 which runs under WAS
However MDM 5.5 is integrated with NW largely, though it can & is planned to be improved further
2. Product Catalog Management
MDM 5.5 has rich PCM capabilities which did not exist in MDM 3.0
3. Other additional capabilities in 5.5
Multilingual support
Syndication of data to XI or file system
Lean, R/3 Idoc based model for supplier, customer, material, employee
4. Ease of installation and usage is a also an advantage of 5.5
