Difference between outbound delivery against vendor and GI to vendor

Hi all
I was going through one scnerio,in which the good were being return to the vendor by creating outbound delivery using VL10b,with reference to PO.
what is the difference when we issue the goods by using MIRO instead of creating outbound delivery.
As in both of the cases stock is getting less and it is being send to vendor .
Thanks

Difference between Return Delivery to Vendor - Against Material Document & Return Delivery to Vendor - Against Returns PO
    Thanks in adv

    Hi,
Return delivery to Vendor against material document is done when you want to send the entire qty back to vendor and when your vendor invoice is not paid.
You create Returns order, when you want to return some qty for which you can not trace any material document.
For eg: During some festival season, you have purchased more stock. After that some stock is left with you which you would like to return to the vendor.
Or you have found them damaged at a later point of time.

  • Difference between return delivery and cancellation

What is the difference between return delivery and cancellation in  MIGO transaction.
Can any one explain how to use them and where to use them.
    thanks

    HI there
I will make it simple with figures,,
    Return Delivery
    PO- 100 nos
GR-100 nos in to QI stock,,,
After the Inspection- 95 nos Accepted, 5 nos Rework
    1. Return Delivery - Expecting the Subsequent Delivery- post the 5 nos into 122 (Return to Vendor), he will do the rework and provide the component back after the inspection if the qulaity is ok receive into 101
2.Return Delivery- Not expecting the delivery back- post the 5 nos into 122 (Return to Vendor) and close the PO, if the payment already create the Credit memo for the 5 nos,,,
    Cancellation
    Ex:
    1. GR for the 100 nos into 103 instead of 101, so cancel the document through 104
At the time of cancel the document, Always use the origin material document, so that
    1. All the data will be copied automatically
    2. Reversal Movement type will be defaulted
    3. Material Cost will be picked on the last material document,, if not it will pick the price from PO/Order.
    Hope it helps you

  • Difference between inbound delivery and Goods Receipt

Can any one explain difference between inbound delivery and goods Receipt??

    Hi dear,
Inbound delivery is one confirmation used to indicate the expected goods receipts in advance, so that the related process partners like warehouse personnel , planning personnel can utilise this data for initiation of actions and planning. Also , we can make this confirmation relevant to Planning in the customisation, to enhance the performance.
In general , we need confirmations only as a kind of assurance/information , in absence of the goods.
But if the goods are received physically , obviously we do not need any confirmations , we would perform the goods receipt .
When working with Inbound delivery , the goods receipt is done with respect to specific inbound delivery( though not compulsary to do so) , so that the integration done in the system works to the advantage of the users.

  • Link between outbound delivery and matriel documents of good receip

    HI,
in which table we can find the link between outbound delivery and matriel documents of good receipt.
    thanks

    Hi!,
If you have posted a goods receipt for an outbound delivery, you should find in the header table MKPF for the material document the field MKPF-XBLNR completed with the outbound delivery number.
Then, if the document flow for the delivery has been updated correctly, in the table VBFA for the delivery (VBFA-VBELV), you should find the material document under VBFA-VBELN.
    I hope this helps you!
    Best regards,

  • Difference between a delivery coded as LIFO and a regular Delivery

    Hi All,
Can you please enlighten me the difference between a delivery coded as LIFO and a regular delivery.
It may stand for Last in First out but not sure what that actually means when a delivery is being created.
And where can I see this Delivery Code (Techincal field name ).
    Thanks,
    Sanjeet

    Hello
LIFO stands for last in first out  and regular delivery is delivery creation without any such constraints
this would be a requirement that sratergy that stocks are picked on LIFO basis and this would be a functional requriment
there is nothing such as field for LIFO etc.
you would have to customise your avilability check in order to ensure that LFIO is followed when system allocated the stocks during avilability check
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • Difference between sales order schedule line and item level data

    Hi All,
Could you please let me know what is the difference between sales order schedule line and item level data?
    Thanks,
    Ramya

    Hi Ramya,
Sales order schedule line contains del date, order qty, rounded qty, confirmed qty, delivery qty, schedule line category, purchase requisition etc.,  ie It contains the full details of sales order data with respect to the scheduled line of delivery.  The total quantity of a sales order item can be subdivided into schedule lines that contain the various subsets with the corresponding delivering dates.
Sales order Item level data contains details of the item in the sales order like material code, net price, net value, UoM, PO details, reason for rejection if any, material group, billing date, plant etc., ie this
contains the full details of item irrespective of scheduled line.

  • Difference between Excise duty on Setoff and Excise duty on Inventory

    Hi,
What is the difference between Excise duty for Setoff and Excise duty for Inventory?
    regards,
    sathya

    hi Sathya
Excise duty on set off means the values goes to a particular G/L and take the credit of it whie selling the material. Excise duty on inventory means your value will get loaded to your inventory. In case of duties on set off, you define your own account keys against condition type in tax procedure and G/L is assigned to this Acc key on OBYC/OB40. and in case of duty on inventory, standard acc key NVV is assigned and no G/L assignment is carried out in OBYC/OB40.
    Reward if helpful.

  • Difference between business process, sales process and order process

what is the difference between business process, sales process and order process?

    Dear Gopala,
business process is a general definition of the process which you have:
for example, you get an order, you have no goods, but you can produce them, you start an assambly processing, the production order will be created, then the goods will be prepatred, then the delivery will be created, the goods issue booked then your customer gets thwe goods and send the delivery confirmation, you create an invoice etc.etc.
sales process is a part of  a business process.
Sales process shows how you sell the goods, there are different sales document  categories to do this: sales orders, contracts, scheduling agreements etc.
order process is only one of possibilities of the sales process.
Order process is used if you get really a one-time (or at lease not on a regular basis many times) the simple orders where your customer says what goods he would like to receive and when. Then you create a sales order (in dialog transaction VA01) and can create a delivery. There are different types of sales orders in the standard. The customizing of sales order types is available under the transaction VOV8.
I hope, this info help you a little bit further to understand SD design.
    Kind regards,

  • Difference between WIP (work in progress) and Semi finished goods

what is the difference between WIP (work in progress) and Semi finished goods
and how to handle their valuation seperately in SAP.
pls help with some specific important inform on both   WIP   and semi f

    Hello Sanjeev,
The difference between SFG and WIP is that ,
1 ) Valuation Class  For SFG starts 7***   but WIP material stock starts with 3***
2 )  Stock / inventory of  SFG can be seen at point of time but WIP is an Order item
3 ) We can find the stock of SFG at any point of time say it is having specific storage location But WIP is calculated from
Order for which items are drawn .
4 ) Example You have to manufacture Product AAA which contains SFG1 , 2 , 3  which is made up of some component items
once SFG 's made the inventory is updated during GR but the components lying in the shop floor required to complete the order
so we want to know at any point of time how many these materials are lying and the same was issued against Order
reservation to finish the balance Order Quantity is called WIP.  You have confirmed only say 80 Pcs of FERT out of 100 Pcs
remaining 20 Pcs needs to be confirmed and is being manufactured in the shop floor and the same is lying as WIP .
      Material Consumption to Production Order:
    In FI:
ROH consumption Account       Dr (PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT)
To ROH Inventory Account       Cr (BALANCE SHEET)
Same in the case with HALB
In CO: Cost of Material is
In CO: Cost of Material is debited to Production Order
       For WIP :
      Calculation of WIP In FI:
          WIP Account                           Dr. (BALANCE SHEET)
To Change in WIP Account      Cr (PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT)
    If the Order is completed:
    In FI:
Change in WIP Account           Dr (PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT)
    To WIP Account
Pl come back if you have any doubt,

  • What is the difference between sales order with picking and without picking

    hi friends,
i would like to know what is the difference between sales order with picking and without picking.
    thanks
    skrishnan

    Hello,
Picking refers to preparing the right quantity and quality of goods for shipping on schedule as required by the customer.
Once picking is configured, SAP Sd automatically generates picking lists and picking labels which can be tagged to the relevant goods. SAP can be configured to ensure that picked quantity is confirmed before goods are issued. This can be done using transaction code VSTK. In T-code VSTK, picking confirmations can be set, which ensure that goods picked for delivery are in accordance with picking slips.
Picking thus helps in monitoring each item using the picking status. Picking is normally done in SAP SD by a shipping clerk.

    Hi,

    Thanks and regards
    Gitesh

    Hi,
ME20 has 2 options one to directly transfer, that is without delivery.  And, anotehr is with delivery.
Option 1 will create a material document in ME20 transaction.
With option 2 it will create a delivery note.   you have issue the material in vl02n if delivery note is created and then material documetn will get generated.
    regards
