Ive doen pretty much what you said burt now my program isnt working at all. The window comes up but instead of doing something when you click the button it just throws shit loads of exceptions. Heres my abridged code

What difference between Jtextfield of Swing and Textfield of awt.

when we press enter key in a textfield for TextField an action is
occur than what method is called and tell me JtextField does not

As we know that an AWT component has a peer, but dose a lightweight component(e.g: a swing component) has also a peer? And could somebody tell me that who and how creates the CLICKED_EVENT when I click a JButton(a swing component), and where the CLICKED_EVENT to go util it was processed by a method like btn_ok_clicked(Event e)? And if I click a Button(an AWT component), what's the difference?

The main difference is that AWT are native components, and Swing components are entirely in java written. That's besides the look and feel. There are a lot of other differences between AWT and Swing, and there are better described in the documentation.

What is difference between C# Gzip and Java swing GZIPOutputStream?

I have a Java swing tool where i can compress file inputs and we have C# tool.
I am using GZIPOutputStream to compress the stream .
I found the difference between C# and Java Gzip compression while a compressing a file (temp.gif ) -
After Compression of temp.gif file in C# - compressed file size increased
while in java i found a 2% percentage of compression of data.
Could you please tell me , can i achieve same output in Java as compared to C# using GZIPOutputStream ?

Difference between AWT,Swing and swt

I am giving a seminar about swing in which I need to point out differences between AWT,Swing and SWT(Software Widget Tool).
I have two questions:
1)I read that-A heavyweight component is one that is associated with its own native screen resource (commonly known as a peer). A lightweight component is one that "borrows" the screen resource of an ancestor-which makes it lighter.Can anybody explain What native screen resource is and how it is borrowed?
2)I read that SWT uses native widgets and how can it be better than swing?If it is in what way?

Use Swing for new projects. AWT is the rendering layer underneath Swing in many cases, and AWT provides utility things like Graphics. SWT is an alternative to Swing which used more native rendering, but actually with Java 6, Swing is using a lot of native rendering.
Fire up NetBeans and use Matisse. Build an application. Run it under Windows, and then under Linux, and then realize how great it is.

Differences between some Swing functions

I haven't touched Java in a very long time and just getting back into now for something - so please excuse me if the questions seems simple. But I was wondering if there are any real functional differences between some functions that work on the TextComponent level and some that work on the subClass like TextArea. I'm following some code right now where it says
textArea1.setText("something")
I'm just wondering if there is a design pattern reason why somebody would do that instead of say just doing
textArea1.insert("something", location)
well other than the difference in being able to place the actual text in the second function. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something here.

will have the same effect. However if you do the above and then do:
a) textArea1.setText("something else");
Then the text area area will contain "something else"
b) textArea2.insert("something else", 0");
Then the text Area will contain "something elsesomething"
well other than the difference in being able to place the actual text in the second function.This doesn't mean you can randomly place the text. For example if your text area is empty you can't do:
textArea.insert("something", 20);

Is there a difference between iMovie '11 and iMovie HD?

Just getting started with trying to learn how to edit a video. Also, is '11 short for 2011? In other words, if I referred to "iMovie 2011" would I be talking about something that actually exists? I guess HD means High Definition. What do you call something that is NOT HD? Low def? Regular Def? The introduction to "iMovie HD"manual refers to "Magic iMovie" Does the word Magic have special meaning, the way it does in reference to a mouse (mighty or magic being different)? The   manual keeps referring to "the latest" but the copyright date at the back is 2005. This makes me wonder if there is a more recent version of this manual. Is there a place on the apple website to check on what the latest version is? What is the Product I am asking abouit? I don't think it is iMac, iPhone, iS 5 or None. But those are the only choices I see below here. Why is there not a choice of "iMovie"? Or iLife?

A Project is a movie you are making. You can use the clips from one or more events in a project. You can also use photos from iPhoto or Aperture or the Finder, and you can use Music from iTunes. When you "finish" a project, you use the SHARE menu to execute all your edits and create a file that can be played where you want it, in the size you want it. Even after you Share a project, you can go back and edit it some more if you like, but then you would need to Share it again.
   Or is it a "project" while you create it and then it becomes a "movie:" after you finish it?
A movie is the result of your Sharing the project as I mentioned above.
This is something the Apple manual writers assume everyone already knows but I do not. What is a Cache and how it is different from a Library?
You shouldn't really need to understand caches and libraries to use iMovie. The Library is a section of your hard drive that you don't generally need to go to. It holds a bunch of files that are used by the system.
A cache is a temporary place to hold something that you might need right away. For example, Let's say you are editing the first five seconds of a clip. It takes time to go out and get the clip off the disk drive and bring it into memory so you can edit it. A cache might be used, say, to save some time by going ahead and bringing in the whole clip (not just the first 5 seconds) and maybe the next clip too. Another example. You want a glass of milk. So do you go to the store and buy a glass of milk? No. You buy a gallon of milk and put it in the refrigerator. You drink your glass of milk. When you want another glass, you go to the cache (the refrigerator) not the store. The iMovie App handles all this behind the scenes so you don't have to worry about it.
Clip seems on the surface obvious (a short section of continous video/audio that is a building block for a movie) but as I think about it, I wonder.....It is BOTH audio and video? or EITHER? If a movie contained only one clip wouold it be called a clip or a movie?
The best way to understand clips is that it is a unit of video from the time you press record on your camera until the time you press stop. Ususally a clip is from 5 seconds to 20 seconds, but if you are recording a convert, a single clip might be two hours.   A clip is imported into an Event. A clip, or a portion of a clip, can be used in a project. It becomes a movie when you share the project. Could you take one clip and make a project from it with no editing? Sure.
Usually a camcorder will record both audio and video. You can, however, use only the audio or only the video in a project if you want.
If the audio and the video were from different sources would it still be a clip?
No, it would be two clips. You can edit them together. If you want to sync multiple video angles (from different cameras) and different sound sources (like really good microphones, separate from the camera) then Final Cut Pro X is your best bet. But for simple needs, you can combine audio clips and video clips in iMovie.
   What are scenes? What are sections?
A scene is usually a unit within your movie. It is up to you to define that. For example, if I was makeing a movie about my daughter's marathon, I might put a scene together about the pre-race preparations, a scene about the starting line, a scene about the midpoint, and a scen at the finish line. Each scene could have many clips. A scene is really where you use your creativity. I am not sure how you are using the word Section.
What are effects?
An effect could be changing the color balance, adding a sound effect, adding slow motion or fast motion, adding an old-timey or black and white look, adding a freeze frame, there are a lot. You dont have to use them at all. It depends on the story you are trying to tell.

A DVD is a round disk that you put in a DVD player. You can create a DVD if you have DVD authoring software and a DVD burner. Five years ago, all Macs had DVD burners. Now, MacBook Airs, some iMacs, and some Mac Books no longer have built-in burners, but you can always add a DVD burner through a USB port. More and more people are shooting HD video - and DVDs are only standard definition. And more and more people are sharing the video through YouTube and Facebook, which support HD. So Apple has been deemphasizing DVD lately. They have not updated iDVD since 2006. Still, if you make movies for friends and family who are not comfortable with the internet, DVDs are still quite useful.
What is video exactly and how is video different from a movie? Does video include audio by definition? Or are there different terms to refer to video with and without audio?

Find the difference between JSP and JSF
1. A developer has more control with JSP, but (should) get easier development with JSF
2. Event handling is done differently in JSP (HTTP) and JSF (Java)
3. The UI is designed differently (or should be at least) with JSP (markup) and JSF (components).
4. The end product should also be defined differently - JSP page versus a JSF application.
Is this the only thing that is need to make a decision for either or? Probably not. There are other pieces that need to be taken in account when deciding which technology to use - tools support, enough components, type of application etc.... At this point there are not enough JSF components (although there are some interesting projects underway - Ajaxfaces, Myfaces, ADF Faces, and WebChart 3d) and enterprise tools support is still limited to a few tools vendor. Looking at our ADF Faces components they are currently available as early access (not production) and demands for these components are stacking up, literally, outside my office doorstep. Although I would love to make them production - now! - it is not a viable solution since we are still checking features and fixing critical bugs.
All this combined - not enough enterprise level components in production, lacking tools support etc... - leave customers in a vacuum where the decision is either to continue with JSP, since it is mature and has a wide developer base, or move forward with JSF not sure if the support, or the developers will be there. This is particularly sensitive to customers that need to get started now and be production by summer.
If you are in this vacuum here are some key points promoting JSF:
1. Fundamental unit is the Component
2. Built in event and state management
3. Component sets can be provided by any vendor
4. Closer to ASP.Net or Swing development
5. Choice of UI technology
6. Scale up (rich clients)
7. Scale down (mobile devices)
8. Built into J2EE containers in J2EE 5.0 (tentative)
