Difference between payment terms fields in vendor master

What is the difference between 'payment terms' in Payment transaction accounting view and 'Terms of payment' in purchasing data view in vendor master ?
Please share your view.

Generally both the payment terms should be defined same
from the payment term of payment transaction screen will copy to invoice and the payment term from purchasing will copy to PO.

    There are two payment term fields in Vendor master , one is in Payment transactions Accounting and the other one is in Purchasing  Data.

    I hope both are same, payment terms in Payment transactions Accounting is maintained at company code level and the one in purchasing is maintained at Purchase orgaisation level.

    GO to FB03 and Select the document number and Go to the Menu
    ENVOIRNMENT--> Document Changes here you can see who has changed the document and also the date....

    Hi,
    In OME2 or OBB8 , In the Payment Terms Detailed Screen, activate the relevant Account Type "Customer" or "Vendor" as per the this activation, it will appear in the MM and SD Master Data as well as Transactions.
    Means if Vendor is activate then that payment term will appear only ion vendor master and PO. And if Customer is activated then it will appear in Customer Master and Sales order.
    Note: - This should work, if you have configured this option and still it is not working then you might be doing something wrong. Do it as suggested above, it should work.

  • Invoice Reference Number "V" + Blank Payment Terms field

    Hi Experts
    Need your validation on one point. I have credit memos with invoice reference number field filled with "V" but payment terms in document is blank.
    Payment terms in Vendor Master Data is XXXX (Net due 30 days). But when I run the Payment Program within 30 days for this vendor, the credit memo is picked up and adjusted.
    Is my understanding correct that it is because of the following reasons -
    By putting V in invoice reference number, the system will overlook the payment terms mentioned in Vendor Master Data and follows whatever is mentioned in the document.
    And because the payment term field is empty in the document, it is taking baseline date as payment due date and thus picks the document in F110 program.

    please check my comments:
    By putting V in invoice reference number, the system will overlook the payment terms mentioned in Vendor Master Data and follows whatever is mentioned in the document.
    In all cases the document entry overlook the master data entry. The vendor works as default values during document entry.
    And because the payment term field is empty in the document, it is taking baseline date as payment due date and thus picks the document in F110 program.
    Don't change the document defaul entry if you want the vendor assignment. If it's blank you have to assign same Payment terms from you vendor otherwise you will have only the baseline date.

    I would like to change the Search Help for Payment Terms Field, in Customer Master (KNVV-ZTERM). and in Sales Document. I believe it is the same.
    Default is From Table T052 / T052U
    ZTERM  and TEXT1  Fields
    I would like to have
    From Table TVZBT
    ZTERM and VTEXT
    PayT    Own Explanation Field.

      The search help for the payment terms is not coming from the DDIC search help..
      It is coded in the process on value-request event...
      The function module FI_F4_ZTERM is called for this..you have to change this function module in case if you want the values from a different table..
      OR do implicit enhancement in the subroutine FORM HELP_ZTERM in the include MF02DFH0 to call your search help instead of the function module FI_F4_ZTERM ..And do the same for the sales order also..

  • Relation between Payment term and Billing Plan

    Hi All,
    I have gone through series of thread on Milestone billing and the Billing plan concept is understood but still I have a confusion regarding the relation between Payment Term that we maintain in OBB8 and the Billing plan that we maintain. practically both seems same.
    For ex. Milestone Linked plan where 30% payment to be received on the completion of X work and 70% on the completion of Z work. what should be the payment term for this kind of milestone billing?
    Please suggest.

    Hi,
    First there is one major difference between payment terms and billing plan.
    Payment terms will come into effect once billing is done, based on the conditions of payment terms system decides whether a certain line item is  not due or overdue.
    Billing plan on the other hand decides when to bill the first installment and when to bill second installment and final payment etc.
    For example:
    for a order with billing plan has total value of INR 1000
    date                         Mile stone             percentage        Amount
    21.10.2011             Advance               10%                       100
    31.10.2011             installation              30 %                     300
    15.11.2011             Handing over         40  %                    400 
    30.11.2011             Final invoice           20%                      200
    System will create 4 invoices according to billing plan.
    Once the bill is created according to payment terms FBL5n will show the status as not due/ overdue

  • Validate Terms of Payment in MIRO against vendor master

    Dear All,
    I have a requirement to Validate Terms of payment in MIRO with Vendor master data. I am using INVOICE_UPDATE  BADI to check if Terms of payment in MIRO is same as Vendor master table LFB1, However I also need to check days which is not in LFB1,
    How do I validate MIRO -> ZTERM and Days with Vendor master is there any function module ? I checked T052 table but ZTERM is not the only primary key and suggestions please ?

    Hi,
    See the the SAP documentation of Daylimit.
    For terms of payment which depend on whether or not the baseline date is
    after or before the 15th of the month, you can define a two-part payment
    term under the same terms of payment key. The terms of payment key is
    expanded by the day limit entered here. Thus there are two entries in
    which different terms can be specified.
    In your case,
    if rbkp-bldat is between 1st and 5th of the month, extract
    data related to t052-ztagg = '05'.
    If rbkp-bldat is between 6th and 20th of the month, extract
    data related to t052-ztagg = '20'.
    if rbkp-bldat is between 21st and end of month, extract
    data related to t052-ztagg = '31'

    You could use the sample codes available while installing the SDK setup.
    like in this path C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One SDK\Samples\COM UI\VB.NET
    Add this code under SBO_Application_ItemEvent which will disable the field.

    The payment terms is picked up from vendor master or it may pick from inforecord if maintained,
    There are 2 types of payment terms one mainitained in purching view and the other maintianed in company code view.
    Payment terms if not made mandatory in vendor master then you have to make this mandatory in screen selection for tcode ME21N

  • Payment Term field to be set as Non Editable in Sales Order

    I have a requirement, in which the user wants to make the Payment Term field in Sales Order as Non Editable in case the Payment terms is copied from Customer Master to Sales order.
    In case no value is copied, it should be editable.
    Is there any setting to make this happen.
    Can anyone help on this?

  • Disable Payment Term field in the Marketig Document

    Hi everyone,
    I would like to ask if I can make a particular field in the marketing document be active but disabled without having to modify it using SDK? I would like to make the Payment Terms field in the Accounting tab of the AP Invoice to be disabled from the user so that he cannot change the default value during encoding of invoice. If it is not possible what workaround can you suggest.

    We bought Customice & Designer. Customice enables you to change the hole forms, create new tabs eg. in BM Master form or to hide fields. The designer is a very nice form editor, much easier than XL Reporter and more powerful than pld.

  • Head Office field in Vendor Master

    Hi,
       We have entered a Head Office Vendor in the Vendor master ( Branch).
    Now at the time of PO creation system has correctly fetched the Branc Vendor address.
    When we are trying to post the Vendor Invoice we are getting error "Different invoicing party 400065 planned in purchase order xxx
    Message no. M8286.
    As the Head office Vendor is fetched at the time of Invoice we are facing this error.
    How to resolve this? The Invoice is to be posted to the Head Office Vendor only.

       Is maintaining the partner function ,mandatory for using the Head Office field in Vendor master?
    What I can observe is, during MIRO system is able to fetch the Head Office Vendor even if the PO is for the Branch Vendor.
    The error which I mentiond appears due to this only as there is a conflict between two Vendors.

    To this requirement as Lakhsmi says, to make the Payment term in display mode, without user exit you can do with Tansaction variant SHD0. It actually make a view sort of control.
    Steps:
    Run T CODE: SHD0
    Transaction         VA01
    Variant                ZVA01_VARIANT
    create a sales order.
    during the process system, records all the details of object involved in the sales order creation.
    and it records with the screen number as variant name.
    After execution go to details, Go to
    Name of screen variant:  ZVA01_VARIANT_4440
    and in Payment terms VBKD-ZTERM, select Output only (means it will only display the data from master) and others option also will be there like * Invisible, Required.*
    Select the appropriate one.
    Along with this activity,in the authorization - profile the Variant should be assign to the USERS having T CODE : VA01. This can be done by the Basis team.
    We did similar to control the manual entry of Payment terms.
