Difference between Person ID & Employee ID

Hi Gurus.
in Global Employment Model, we use person id, can some elaborate what is person id as i am confused between a person id and employee id?
I wonder why can we use employee id for Global Employment Model?
Please explain with examples?

Hello,
I am in the middle of a global management implementation, and this is what I know about Person ID. Its just another way of tying the different assignments of the employee together. It is a required field in the required infotyoe: 709. When setting up the switch CCURE PIDGN, you can actually specify what the Person ID should be.
It can either be the same as the PERNR of the very first assignment or the Central PERNR which is created for every PERNR automatically or the Infotype 2, PERID field (which is SSN in US).
When you create an expatriation action, the employee will get a new PERNR, but the person ID helps tie together all the assigments of the person.
P.S: IT 709 is mandatory for all PERNRs in the database who are eligible for global employment. Report: HR_CE_GENERATE_PERSONID_EXT can help you generate this infotype once the above mentioned switch is activated.

We have seeded field "Employement Status" there you can signifies that whether vacancy could be contractor and employee vacancy.
If Employement Status type is "Contractor" you can selective applicant as Contract Employee in Core HRMS.
Once you hire applicant as Contract employee you can provide contract start date and end date in Contract Window of Core HRMS.

Item Category determines the processing of any Item/material that we enter in a sales order and in this way it also effects the procesing of any sales doc in which it is used.
Item Category Group is one of the component which along with the Sales Doc Type, The Item Usage and Higher Level Item Category decide about the Item Category in a sales doc.
Item category determination enables, the system proposes the corresponding item category for sales document type through item category group. t-code: VOV4
Fields in the item category determination:
Sales document type, item category group, item usage, and higher-level item category
Default item category, manual item category

Item category is for a particu;lar sales order item and it has integration with sales document type and material master.
In material master ,you must have seen the item category grp in basic data and sales area data.
That means your item category is assigned to the combination of sales document type and item category grp in the configuration.
Whenever you will create an order for a particular type and you will put your material then your item category will be determined automatically.
Configuration is done by spro---sd -sales-sales document item----assign item category

I'm not familiar with these concepts of personalized URLs and vanity URLs, but after a little bit of research it appears to pose the same issues as Search Engine Optimization as it relates to informative URLs.
Search on this forum for Search Engine Optimization or SEO and you'll find some ideas that should be equally applicable to personalized/vanity URLs.

I'm in need of urgent help. I'm trying to implement the BAPI: BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1.
In the documentation, they talk about 3 types of customer:
Non-consumers
Consumer customers
Company customers
What do these mean? And what's the difference between each of these?
I'm new to the concepts of customer master, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe you missed the first line of the documentation which states :
Only for Online Store !!
In other words, you should first avoid to use that function module.
The name of it is attracting, but you still should not use it.
It is not intended to be used out of its original process context. One fo the main effect you will face is limitations and data inconsistencies.
For the maintenance of customers, there is NO BAPI and NO direct function module.
There are some functions modules like the one above where the name is looking nice. But these should not be used.

Starting with ECC 2005 (6.00) and above: a synchronisation tool has been introduced. See class CMD_EI_API and VMD_EI_API
Now some few words about comsumers, customers.
The difference between a company customer and a non-consumer, I can't state. For me, this is the same.
Now the consumer. This is a very specific master data.
A consumer is mainly a person.
As a result, the best definition would be :
'A consumer is a customer that has one and only one contact person which is himself'
The construction of the address is pretty different. All the address data is at contact person level.
The KNA1 table does not own any address fields. All is at KNVK level.
For the BAS (Business address services) tables, this is the same. ADRC is mostly empty. Only ADRP, ADCP... contains meaningfull data.

The personas will be moved from the Getpersonas site to the Add-ons site as themes if I understand correctly.<br />
If that has been completed then the Getpersonas site is no longer needed and can be closed down or will link to the Add-ons site for a short while.

Data selection period means
For example if u given any period,
here we are checking whether data is valid in this period.
Personal selection period means
we are checking whether person is valid in a given period.
Example is:
For example if the employee resigned in a company on 15th of month.
He can get the salary only at the end of month it means his data is avilable upto end of month.
But when you consider his status from 16th to end of month
the person is not available.
So when u given date(16th to end of month) in data selection period is showing that person data is avilable.
But when mention that date in person selection period it is showing no person is avilable.

Differences between Oracle Personal Edition and Enterprise Edition

What are the differences between the databases of Oracle Personal Edition and the Oracle Enterprise Edition..?

I have just looked at the metalink document and see that Oracle are still blatantly lying about the availability of analytical functions.
We chose standard edition on the basis of this document and were very annoyed to find we could not use analytical functions.
The document is about 8i. Of course we are all on 9i these days aren't we ?

What's the security difference between WPA and WPA2 Personal?

In order to get my G4 iMac (OS 10.4.11) onto my new AEBS(b/g/n) wi-fi network, I had to drop the network security down from WPA2 Personal to WPA/WPA2 Personal.
What are the potential security risks in this mode? I know that WEP is no longer secure, so I'm concerned about WPA also being vulnerable.
If there's a good online explanation of these security differences (not necessarily Apple-only), you just give me that link.

Differences Between "Wings" Personality Cards?

So, I know that there are generally three types of Personality Cards for the Beige G3s. However, while trolling eBay for the fabled Bordeaux card, I noticed something really odd; there seem to be two different types of the Wings card: 820-0923-A, and 820-0971-A. Both seem to have the same features (Audio I/O, S-Video I/O and RCA A/V I/O). Is there any special difference between them? Is one better than the other?

Enterprise Edition: If you select this type, Oracle Universal Installer installs a preconfigured seed database, networking services, licensable Oracle Options, database environment tools, the Oracle Enterprise Manager framework of management tools, including Console, Management Server, and Intelligent Agent, Oracle utilities, and online documentation. It also installs those products most commonly used in data warehousing and transaction processing environments.
Standard Edition: If you select this type, Oracle Universal Installer installs a preconfigured seed database, networking services, Oracle Enterprise Manager framework of management tools, including Console, Management Server, and Intelligent Agent, and Oracle utilities.
Personal Edition: If you select this type, Oracle Universal Installer installs the same software as the Enterprise Edition installation type, but supports only a single user development and deployment environment that requires full compatibility with Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition.
