Difference between regular Dreamweaver and Academic version

I want to purchase Dreamweaver v 8 to help build our site,
what will I be missing if I get the academic version?

Nothing. Aside from the fact you would need to provide some
proof that you
are in fact a student, and will not use the software for
commercial
purposes. Other than that, it is the same as the big boys
toys, with a
slightly modified splash screen, and About info.

  • Difference between Regular Reversal and out-of-sequence reversal

    Can anyone help me understand the difference between Regular Reversal and out-of-sequence reversal? How does the system behave differently i these two reversals?
    Thanks
    Charlene

    Sorry for the long reply, as here's some information that I have on Voids and Out-of-Sequence reversals.
    On occasion, SAP payroll results can be created in error. In these cases, the payment never goes to the employee and the payroll result should never have been created. These cases are considered “reverse payments” in the off cycle workbench.
    There are two forms of “reverse payments”: voids and out of sequence reversals. Notes 160515, 159701 and 337626 should be reviewed carefully.
    An out of sequence reversal occurs when third party remittance has been run for the payroll result, or when the payroll result is not the most recent result in the cluster directory for the employee. Wage type /568 (total reversal amount) is created in the reversed result for posting purposes. Wage type /571 replaces any /559 wage types in the reversed result and the BT cluster is cleared.
    Wage type /568 is created for posting purposes and it will not appear in any retros over the reversed result.
    An out of sequence reversal should not occur when the employee receives the money unless the actual check is returned or the direct deposit is reversed by the bank.  Because of the tax when paid principle, even if an employee writes a check back to the company for the overpaid amount, this should be processed by retro master data changes and the employee check should be used to relieve any claims in the most recent period.  The claims processing guide gives details on how to relieve claims. Out of sequence reversals depend on third party remittance but not on posting to FI.
    /568 - Total reversal amount - If you cancel a payroll result that A. Has had payments made to third parties or B. is other than the last one.  This is considered an out of sequence reversal.  If these two conditions do not apply, a true void occurs.     Wage type /568 is the total reversal amount.  Should be the sum of /569, /570 and /571.
    /571 - Reversal of /559 - Wage type /571 is the reversal of /559 (bank transfer).  /571 will record the amount from wage types /559.  The /559 wage types will be deleted from the cluster that was reversed.  Wage type /571 will have the same sign as wage      type /559.
    In payroll reporting, the reversal amounts are evaluated in the next payroll period. The same is true for posting to FI.
    The out of sequence reversal should have been accompanied by a master data change that forced a retro via infotype 0003.
    This retro will fix FI postings in the posting process that accompanies the retro run.For this reason, out of sequence reversals do not need an entry in table T52OCG for processing by the off cycle batch process.
    Regardless of if a ‘reverse payment’ is a void or an out of sequence reversal, there should be an associated master data change to perform this process properly. There had to be a reason that the payment should not have been made and this reason needs to be reflected in the employee’s master data. Both voids and out of sequence reversals can occur before or after the master data change, but the safest method is to perform the master data change first to ensure it occurs before the next payroll is processed.
    In payroll reporting, voids are bypassed in the period for which they were originally paid. This means that if a payroll report is run for a specific period containing a void, the voided result will not be picked up. In FI, voids are bypassed in the period in which they were voided. This is possible because the off cycle batch process already reconciled any incorrect posting that occurred before the payroll result was voided.
    A voided payroll result occurs when no money was given to the employee and no money was remitted through third party remittance.  A void is simply a check or direct deposit that was created in error.  The payroll control record was already exited and the check or direct deposit was already processed, therefore the payroll result can not be recalculated in the original period.
    A void can only occur if the payroll result is the most recent result for the employee.
    If the payroll result is not the most recent result, an out of sequence reversal occurs by default. It is irrelevant whether the transfer to FI has occurred or not with relation to voids.  Some OSS notes state that posting to FI does matter and these notes are in error.

  • Difference between logic $499 and academic $149

    I am currently a UC student and was wondering what is the difference between logic studio $499 and the academic version $149?
    I am planning to get Logic as my main workstation but trying to figure out do i buy the academic version using the advantage of being a student or to buy the $499 one.
    is there a difference?
    Thank You
    [email protected]

    And at 149$, it's a lower price tag than the typical upgrade price for a major Logic revision. So, if you just began your academic years, chances are that you'll still be eligible for the student discount when LP10/LS3 arrives and it will cost you 149$ instead of 199$ to get the new version(if there's no change in Apple pricing at that time). So, buy the academic one, you'll save.

  • The difference between regular ram and "apple ram" from 3rd parties

    So I made a previous post on the Macrumors forums regarding whether the RAM issues in the Unibody MacBook have been resolved or not: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=692653
    It seems that most people who bought OCZ ram have had no issues what so ever. I am located in Canada so a store like CanadaComputers is great for me because I can go pick it up instead of having it delivered and pay shipping costs (as opposed to Newegg.ca). On their website, they have two modules with similar specs expect one is found in the Apple ram section and the other is in the regular ram.
    Apple Ram (OCZ)
    http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...80&cid=RAM.188
    Regular Ram (OCZ)
    http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...id=RAM.187.778
    When comparing the specs, the only difference I can see is that the CL on the Apple ram is 7-7-7-20. The CL on the regular ram is CL 8-8-8-27.
    The price difference between the two is $57! OCZ's website confirms that one is made specifically for Apple Notebooks and the other is just regular.
    Can anyone explain what CL is and whether it is something that needs to be taken into consideration. Thanks.

    That only needs to be taken into consideration if you're using applications which are very demanding about performance, which aren't intended for usage by home users. Click here for more information.

  • Major differences between GTS 7 and 10 version

    I am new to GTS. I am ECC consultant and my company is sending me for GTS training.. Currently we are in GTS 7 and SAP has stopped supporting the  7 version and hence planning to go for  upgrade to 10 version
    I wanted to check what are the major changes from 7 - 10 . We do not want our normal business to be broken once we do upgrade and hence trying to figure out the differences between 7 and 10 version.
    Latest release notes only  mentions difference from 9 10 10 but could not find the differences between 7 -10.
    If any of you faced the same issue can you please point out the major differences.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Vijay,
    As you can see, Vikas has provided all the details here, so there's not much more to be said .
    In the areas you mention, I think it's unlikely that anything will be broken by your intended upgrade.  Instead, you may find additional features that could be interesting to start using in the future - the exception being Embargo checking where (unfortunately) nothing has changed as far as I know.
    SPL now offers more options for checking names & addresses, and there's more flexibility and functionality in Legal Control, including re-export value calculations where trade in controlled products is undertaken with USA vendors.
    Regards,
    Dave

  • Is there a difference between the "teacher" and "normal" versions of CC?

    Hi,
    Are there any differences in the feature set (ie - less filters, not as feature rich, etc, etc) of Adobe Creative Cloud education version (in this case, I'm a teacher), and the "normal", more expensive version of Adobe Creative Cloud (ie - what a normal individual would pay who doesn't qualify for the discounted education versions).
    Many thanks for the insight!

    Thanks Luis.
    The only difference is the subscriptiion price for students and teachers.
    The Creative Cloud FAQ here http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html covers a lot of common questions.

  • What are the differences between the Mac and Windows version of CS5

    Hello. I am considering to buy the Educational version of Adobe CS5 Production Premium (mainly using Illustrator but once in a while photoshop and Premiere). How is the Mac version compared with the Windows version? Is it better or the same? As far as I know, the Helvetia font is available for free on the Mac version. However, there must be lots of other differences. Thanks

    I know of no differences with Illustrator. The only difference I am aware of is that Acrobat for Windows includes LiveCycle Designer. I am told it is a versatile and useful tool for form design and it integrates well with larger databases. I have only used the form design tools and I can testify that they suck balls.

  • Difference between Soundtrack Pro and the version that came with FCE 3.5

    Would like to know what the important differences are between Soundtrack Pro 2 and v1.5 that shipped with Final Cut Express 1.5.

    I would say it depends on what (if anything) you need to do when viewing the PDF files in one of those 3 applications.
    Acrobat Pro: Provides useful tools in examining the document as well as making some basic corrections. These tools include Output Preview (color warnings, ink viewing, object inspector) and Preflight.
    Preview: Has some limitations when viewing documents. Most notably, overprinting cannot be simulated but there may be others. Some transparency blending modes are displayed quite as expected either.
    Reader: Lighter weight than Acrobat Pro, but I am not aware of any viewing limitations as compared with Acrobat Pro (and it does support simulating overprinting in viewing)

  • Differences between the Mac and PC versions of Premiere Pro CS5

    Hello. I am considering to buy the Educational version of Adobe CS5 Production Premium (mainly using Illustrator but once in a while photoshop and Premiere). For Premiere CS5, how is the Mac version compared with the Windows version? Is it better or the same? Thanks

    > I'd add that it looks as if some of the Mac documentation is just...missing?
    That may very well be the case. I was only in charge of the Premiere Pro documentation for a few weeks (part of June and part of July), and that wasn't enough time to get it into the "I will stake my reputation on it being complete and correct" state that I took years to get the After Effects documentation into.
    If you see a gap or error, please leave a comment on the relevant page(s) of the document so that the people who are now in charge will see them. These comments are the most direct line of communication that you have with the documentation team.
    Now that I'm in Technical Support, I'll do what I can to advocate for more comprehensive documentation in Help and such.

  • Inventory Management differences between 3.5 and 7 versions doubt

    Hi
    We plan to upgrade BW system from version 3.5 to version 7 next year.
    And we plan to initiate Inventory Management in BW (Cube 0IC_C03).
    It is good idea to start Inventory Management before upgrade?
    OR the better idea is wait befor upgrade?
    THX for your opinion.
    Adam

    look at the current content if that meets the requirement then why to wait till upgrade. During upgarde it is your call whether to move objects to BW7 (content) and data flow. Even if you want to move to BW7 data flow, you could easily migrate.
    Why should you wait for those many months if currents objects meet your reporting needs.
    Also, I am not sure whether SAP has made any changes to Inventory content so that you could get anything better with new content post upgrade.

  • Difference between regular expressions and spry character masking?

    Hi,
    This is my first time writing my own regular expressions.  Often times though, they seem to work in various testing widgets, but then they do not perform as expected in Spry.  I have no idea how to even begin to debug this.
    For example, this string:
    ^\#?[A-Fa-f0-9]{3}([A-Fa-f0-9]{3})?$
    Does a perfect job enforcing hex colors in a regexp testing widget.  But it doesn't work in spry.  It won't let me type a darn thing in.
    Can somebody throw me a bone here?

    Hi!
    Thank you for the response.  I read that article prior to posting and it seems to relate more to Spry's custom pattern function rather than regular expressions.  Here's the code I have:
    <script type="text/javascript">
         <!--
              var text_1 =
              new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField(
                   "text_1",
                   "none",
                   {regExpFilter:/^#[A-Fa-f0-9]{6,};$/,
                   useCharacterMasking:true,
                   validateOn:["change"]})
         //-->
    </script>
    Expected behavior:  I should be able to type in a valid hex color and have Spry perform validation.
    Actual behavior:  I can't type anything in, at all.  I immediately get the invalid Spry feedback (in my case a little red .png image and an error message).
    Simpler expressions like this work fine in Spry:
                        <script type="text/javascript">
         <!--
              var text_1 =
                   new Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField(
                   "text_1",
                   "none",
                   {regExpFilter:/[a-z]/,
                   useCharacterMasking:true,
                   validateOn:["change"]})
         //-->
    </script>
    I think if I can figure out what the special rules are for one somewhat robust regular expression in Spry, then I will be off and running.
    Can anyone help?
    Scott

  • What is the difference between regular FaceTime and the Mac App Store FaceTime?

    The one in the App Store costs €0,89. How is this one differend?

    Yup.
    The difference is about a bit.
    It's a bit that, when set, allows a database to be in a permanent state of recovery, allowing repeated applications of redo. When a particular recovery operation has finished applying its quota of redo, the database sits there waiting for the next dollop.
    A normal controlfile doesn't have that bit set, and when you do 'recover database' to it, it gets to the end of the redo stream and says 'Media Recovery Complete'. No further redo can then be applied to that database, meaning you can't keep a normal database in a permanent state of being recovered.

  • Difference between regular update and update with execute immediate

    Hi everyone, I have seen some code where developers have executed insert and update statement using execute immediate.
    for example :
    execute immediate ('Update employees set employee_salary = :x');
    I can update record using the following statement where x is a number (salary)
    update employee
    set employee_salary = x;
    It works fine as well
    Whats the difference? and what way is recommended
