Difference between Routing & Rate Routing

Hi All,
can anyone tell me difference between Routing & Rate Routing? can we use routing for REM? if no, then what will be the effect?
Thanks,
Rinky

Hi Rinky ,
Routing and rate routing are task list in broad manner .
standard task list: Describes the worksteps necessary to produce a material or perform an activity without reference to an order.( that means they are created without reference to order )
Essential objects of a task list are header, operations, material component allocations, production resources/tools and inspection characteristics.
Together with specific dates and quantities, task list data forms an important part of the order.
The following task list types exist in the R/3 System:
routing
reference operation set
rate routing
reference rate routing
inspection plan
maintenance task list
standard network
master recipe
Routing is created with ca01 and rate routing by ca21 .
Routing is used in discrete manufacuting and rate routing in repetitive .
Rate routing generally has only one operation  and prod line instead of work centers and operations in routings .
Both routings can be used for scheduling , cosing and capacity planning .
Hope this was helpful answer !

Any speed difference between Apple Wifi Router(air express) and Tp link(or others) wifi router?
I'm using a tp link router and sometimes it takes a long time delay for my 2 mac computers to connect each other. I don't know this is because of the router compability or the computers.

    Anyone knows?

  • OAB - difference between standard rate and variable rate

What is the difference between standard rates and variable rates

These Variable rates will take into effect only when you check the "uses variable rate" check box in standard rate right?
Yes, variable rates are evaluated only if this flag is selected.
You mentioned Standard Rate is the rate you attach to a benefit. Where do we attach?
You donot attach the rate to a benefit in a separate form. You select the compensation object you want to attach the rate to within the standard rates form.

  • Difference between Rebate rate and accrual rate

    Dear Experts,
Can you explain the difference between Rebate rate and accrual rate in rebate processing ?
If possible, give any example so that it would be easier to understand.
    Thnx in advance
    regards,
    Sagar

    Hi Sagar,
I also agree that rebate is an amount which is derived from either sales order or billing doc.
No it's not; only billing documents update rebate agreements.
... two terms i.e. Rebate rate and Accrual Rate maintained in condition records for rebate agreement.
Accrual Rate = The rate used to accrue the value (provision) before settlement takes place.
Rebate rate = The rate used to generate the real credit amount to the customer when settlement takes place.
Usually both rates are set the same but, because if scales are used in the rebate rate, then it is usual to manually set the accrual rate at the expected rebate rate based on the planned sales volume.
If I am not wrong, the condition technique it it the accrual rate which determined not the rebate rate.
Not correct; the condition technique is used to determine both rates in the rebate condition.
Also i tried to create scales for rebate, this can be done with rebate rate and not with accrual rate. Then what is its use.
Scales are used when the amount is paid on a variable rate depending on the total customer consumption. The idea is that the more the customer is purchasing, the more rebate he will receive, also on its previous purchases.
Accrual rate is fixed (no scale).
    Hope it helps.

  • Difference between Timing in Routing

    Dear all,
I want to know exactly how can I define Supvsr Time ,Tech Time,Machin Time ,Schedl Time, idle time & machine time in Routing
Also i want know the difference between them .  Sum of all these times means the actual Mfg time ?
    Plz explain with possible example
    Ishwar

    Hi Iswar,
these 6 values are the standard value parameters that have been customized according to your organization's business requirement and are not standard parameters.
These 6 parameters are used to capture the activities on the workcenter. one or more of these parameters will be used in the formula for capacity requirements(capacity tab in workcenter), for scheduling requirement(Scheduling tab) and for costing.
the total of all may not be the actual mfg time. the supervisor time and the technician time seem to be used for costing the order depending on the time spent by the supervisor and the technician for the order.
total machine time usually consists of setup timeproduction timeteardown time.
you can refer to the BPP documents for the details of your project.

  • Difference between Firewall and Router

I can do VPN remote access configuration by using cisco firewall also I can do it using the cisco router by using the SDM program so what is the benefits from using the firewall or all of them are the same?
I mean it's recommended to use the firewill? if yes, why ?

    Answer-
    1) WE can make Security-Level on Firewall,but router can't
    2) We can make firewall in multiple context(Virtual Firewall) but router can't
    3) We can create SSL VPN on Firewall, but router can't
    4) Whenever a packet inspected by Firewall and another packet comes with same contents then firewall didn't check that packet,
but router checks all packets.(show connections)
    5) Firewall works as L2 and L3 both, but router only on L3.
    6) Firewall inspects packets on L3 to L7 but router works on L3.
    7) Firewall have Failover,router can't
    8) Whenever we take trace, then firewall cannot comes on picture, but router always shows as a Hop Count.

  • RV042 - What's a practical difference between gateway and router mode

That´s my scenario, I have a RV042 as gateway  on subnet 192.168.254.0,subnet 192.168.0.0 on the same LAN and  3 vpn tunnels connected GATEWAY TO GATEWAY on subnet 192.168.1.0,192.168.2.0 and 192.168.4.0. I setup 192.168.0.0 as Multiple Subnet on RV042 so now i can ping 192.168.0.0 from RV042 but i can´t do this from clients. What i want to know is What will happen if i change RV042 mode from gateway to router and What do i do to make clients (workstations) on subnet 192.168.254.0 reach clients in subnet 192.168.0.0 .
    Thx
    Everyone

    Gateway mode = RV042 does NAPT (network address & port translation);
Router mode = RV042 does not do NAPT

  • What's the difference between routing and rate routing

As we all know that routing normally used in discrete manufacture, and  rate routing used in REM, one of my client, the just use routing for REM instead of rate routing, are there any gurus can tell me some detail information about them?
    Thanks!
    Eric

    Hi,

    Hi,
The difference between the c2621 and the c2621XM is that the XM has extra memory (ie XM designation) and xm models are a bit faster, usually 5K pps.Support for voice compare to old 2600's is rich and can be used for voice network.

  • Differences between SR520 and ASA5505?

Q: What is the feature parity and differences between SR520 Security Router and ASA5505?
A: [Addis Hallmark]: The SR520 is a secure router that is made for SBCS deployments. It's interfaces, dynamic routing capabilities, CCA support, etc make it a great fit for many customers. The SR520 is much more commonly compared against 87x platforms. The ASA5505 is a security appliance (and a very good one).
[Luke Lambert]: Basically in order of capabilities (IMHO):
UC500 - If you want a basic entry level firewall
SR520 - If your a small office but want some advanced firewall functions e.g. SSL VPN, DMZ, IPS
ASA - High performance required, large amount of remote users, advanced features/ monitoring required.
Reasons for ISR (SR520):- Basic FW
    - One device does it all e.g. Need to terminate ADSL w/ Security in one box.
    Reasons for ASA
    - More advanced firewall
    - Ease of configuration of advanced features
    - Better scaling with VPN (more users)
    - Better SSL (Clientless) VPN

    Good info.

  • Differences between rate routing and reference rate routings?

    Hello PP members:
I would like to differences between rate routing and reference rate routings
    Thanks for your time,
    Thanks Again,
    Suren R

    Hi Mr.Suren,
As explained by other friends Routing is used in Discrete manufacturing and Rate routing is used for REM-Repetitive manufacturing.
In addional to these types SAP has given 2 more types
1.Reference operation set -Used in Discrete manufacturing.
2.Reference rate routing - Used in REM.
If similar rate routing is been used for producing many materials, then instead of entering(these steps) in rate routing of each  material you create a refrence rate routing and you enter the work centres used and the other details. After saving you get a group counter number showing reference rate routing is saved with group XXXXXXXXX.
When you are creating rate routing for a material say A ,after giving the name and plant details in the top you will be able to see an icon "copy from" and you can select the radio button for reference rate routing and give the group counter number. or else without giving it here you have got an option to select the reference rate routing after entering into the operation screen also.
In that particular page in operation overview screen, there will be an icon copy, there you can click that icon and you can give the reference rate routing group counter number and very easily you can create rate routing for N number of material.
Likewise you can use reference operation set while creating routing for a material in Discrete manufacturing. This basically reduces the time in creating routing or rate routing for materials in Discrete & REM respectively
    CA01,CA02,CA03-Create,Change,display (routing)  respectively.
    CA11,CA12,CA13-Create,Change,Display reference operation set Respectively.
    CA21,CA22,CA23-Create,Change,Display rate routing respectively.
    CA31,CA32,CA33-create,change,display reference rate routing resp.
I hope this will help you.
    If useful reward your points.
    Thanks & regards
    Karthik.

  • Difference between routing and rate routing

    frndz,
Pls tell me the difference routing and rate routing.
    regards,
    Srini

    Dear ,
    [Rate Routing:]
1.A routing for whose operations the production quantity and a fixed duration has been defined. Thus the production rate is also defined.
2.Rate routings are used when you plan on a quantity basis, for example in repetitive manufacturing.
3.A rate routing has the same structure as a routing. You can assign a rate routing to a material to be produced. It can have prallel sequences.
    [Routing]
1.Routings are used directly in production orders for a material.
2.A routing can be used without restrictions. Some functions from other task list types such as rate routings and inspection plans are also available in routings.
3.As well as a standard sequence a routing can also have parallel and alternative sequences. You can assign a routing to a material to be produced.

  • Difference between sh ip bgp & sh ip route? BGP tables and main routing table.

Difference between sh ip bgp & sh ip route?
    sh ip bgp :::: loc-rib ?
    sh ip bgp nei x.x.x.x advertised-routes : adj-rib-in.
    sh ip bgp nei x.x.x.x recieved-routes : adj-rib-out.
    sh ip bgp nei x.x.x.x routes : loc-rib ?
sh ip route = rib ? if yes does it mean its loc-rib ?
so in a given router with bgp running, will there be 5 tables (sh ip bgp; adj-rib-in; loc-rib;adj-rib-out; sh ip route) ? if yes where are they saved ?

    sh ip bgp
shows the BGP table (where are stored info coming from BGP update)
sh ip bgp nei x.x.x.x advertised-routes
shows networks that your router will advertise to a specific neighbor
sh ip bgp nei x.x.x.x recieved-routes
shows advertisement received from a specific neighbor;  networks (NLRI) filtered with route-map distribute-list,... are included  (Inbound soft reconfiguration must be enabled)
sh ip bgp nei x.x.x.x routes
shows only routes sent by a specific neighbor and not filtered or discarded (i.s accepted)
    sh ip route
show routing table; it contains the best route for each network (best is first of all the lowest administrative distance, then the lowest metric)
    Bye,
    enrico.
    PS please rate if useful
