Problem with sales order and Service order
Dear Guru's
We have a real problem with sales orders and service orders and how we treat these. For a project that uses a WBS, it's not a problem to manipulate SAP to give us a list of shortages (orders with no or limited supply) for each order, but for some reason our after sales orders and our service orders do not work this way.
Thanks and Regards,

Difference between sales document and sales document Header
Hi everyone,

VBBW is sales document requirement
VBELN is a sales document
VBAK sales document header
then what the difference ales document and sales document Header
kindly assist me to guide the differences
thankshi
SAP has differenciated various sales scenarios into various salses documents. basing on the scenario & circumstances you will be having a sales document to use.
sales document header:which carries the properties of a sales document lie CMR MMR CMIR & Pricing conditions etc...
this will be applicable to entire sales document
by sales document we mean the total data carried by a particular document - header; item & schedule line data. each carries its own information to complete the sales document with out errors.
VBBE-VBELN= VBAK-VBELN stands for schedles in the sales order document & document header.
hope this clears your issue

Plant Maintenance order and service order
Hi ,
Please let me know When we come Plant Main order and Service order.
Thankshi:
Customer Service is linked to Plant Maintenance module of SAP. Technically speaking SM/CS isn't a module. Primarily it uses parts of the PM and SD modules.
The PM module is used mainly for eqiopment, functional location, order, notifications, maintenance plans, etc (same as PM).
The SD module is used for billing, contracts, sales orders, etc.
The main interface between the PM and SD module is called Resource Related Billing (DP80, DP90, etc).
The Customer Service have a lot of process one of them is:
Create the notification IW51 -> create de Service Order -> create Quotation DP80 -> Modification Service Order IW32 Accept the Quotation once accept the system create automatic the sales order to copy of quotation -> and billing the sales order VF01.
Other process is:
Create the Notification IW51 -> create de Sales order -> and billing the sales order VF01.
Other Process is:
Create the notification IW51 -> create de Service Order -> create the sales order DP90 -> and billing the sales order VF01.
Other Process is:
Create a contract type WV VA41 -> create de Service Order -> create the sales order DP90 -> and billing the sales order or contract VF01.
Or
Create a sales order RA or RAS VA02 -> create de Service Order -> create the sales order DP90 -> and billing the sales order or contract VF01

Difference between Sales Contract and Sales Agreement
Hi,
I am confuse with contract and agreement. Please let me know what is exact difference between Sales Contract and Sales Agreement, when the sales contract will be used and in which real time situation, the sale agreement will come into picture.
Please do needful.
Thanks and Regards,
VenkatHi Venkat,
See documentation http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/46/377a08b2ea4bee8eb9f47e5c067064/frameset.htm for details on difference between contract and sales agreement - basically sales agreement dont have a quantity or value whereas contracts do. Agreements are mainly for pricing terms. These pricing terms can then be brought into the sales/service transaction.
There are standard transaction types for these WK1 WV in ERP and CRM.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,

Difference between Sales employee and Employee responsible
Hi,
Can somebody explain the difference between sales employee and employee responsible
Thanks in advance
Reddyhello, friend.
both sales employee and employee responsible have employee numbers and fall under partner type "PE".
an Employee Responsible is a more general term and could refer to someone who is supposed to maintain documents, who may be dedicated to service a customer or a set of customers, a credit employee or a quasi-manager. he can even be a sales employee.
a sales employee or sales personnel is more specific. usually this refers to the salesman who has a defined set of customer accounts. the sales employee is also specifically tracked in Sales Info System (e.g. t-code MCTI). this position carries the SAP standard code/partner function of "VE" (in German).
hope this helped you.

Difference between Change request and Service request
HI All,
Can any body tell me the actual difference between Change request and Service Request. Does it have any difference ? Or they are same. Are you referring to the project Specific Terms ??? If yes, then following are the differences.
Change Request - Suppose user is using a Sales Report which displays Revenue by Customer. Now the user wants to see the same by Product as well which is not available in the current report. So the user raises a Change request and the development team works on it to include the same and make it avaialable for the user.
Service Request - These kind of requests are more likely raised when the user needs access to some system (raise service request to Security team), wants to move a transport to the Production box (raise Service request to Basis Team)..etc. -
Difference between std procurement and service procurement & advantages?
Dear Gurus,
what are the differences between standard procurement and service procurement &
advantages of External services management?
Thanks...hi,
In std procurement we procure materials while in the service procurement we procure services...sap has given these two differently may be bacause while procuring the services you never know in advance that how much exact amount is req. just because you don't know for eg wether there is any req. of changing the parts, or general maintenence or anything else...
so due to this you use the value limits....
Advantage: As the services procured are not FIXED as in the std procurement, we do have flexibility for adding up the new services as per the req...
and as we provide the value limits, in the real time scenerio it doesnot cause any FI problem later...

Difference between Frame order and service order
Hello guys,
Can anybody tell me the difference between the Frame order and work order in system point of view?
Which are the steps for doing theHi Sam,
Framework order: -
Purchasing document used to procure materials or external services. Instead of stipulating a specific delivery date, this type of purchase order has an extended validity period.
Framework orders are defined via the document type FO. They are used in accelerated procurement processes in connection with maintenance/ servicing plans or invoicing plans, and for blanket purchase orders (purchase orders with limits).
A framework order covers multiple procurement transactions over a longer period in cases where the administrative costs of processing discrete POs would be disproportionately high.
Services Order: -
Used as a means of documenting service and customer service activities
in Logistics - General (LO),, Order comes to
Describes a task which is to be carried out within a company.
The order specifies:
- which task is to be carried out
- when the task is to be carried out
- what is needed to carry out the task
- how the order costs are to be settled

Diff. between Sales order and Service order
Hi Gurus,
Can anybody tell me what is the diff. between sales and service order? What are the customization settings will be different for the sales and service order?
Thanks in advanceHi Devi,
Both are two different scenarios. But both are transactions having different purpose.
Sales order comes to the picture when ever any product or service are going to sale. Service order comes to the picture either after sales order processing, when ever any damage happened to the product or replacement required or in order to return the product. or Service sales scenario.
For Configuration settings please refer the Best Practices Configuration guides.
If any clarification please revert...

Price difference between the requisition and the order
Hi All,
There is new functionality in ERP6 that checks the difference in price price between the requisition and the order. The configuration is under Purchase Requisition -> Tolerance Limits -> Define Tolerance Keys. This is very useful functionality when the requistion item is approved at an estimated price, but a purchasing group needs to change the $ value it will block the Purchase Order.
I have this configuration menu available in SPRO in one of my systems (IDES), however on a newly installed ERP6 system we are missing this menu path in SPRO.
Does anyone know why this menu path in SPRO is missing on some systems...Thanks Henry,
I've done some digging and the tables that store these config settings are part of US Federal Governement addons.
Looks like all the (non government) sites that need it aren't able to have it. Great shame really as this would be very useful to communicate with the requestor whena price difference occurs. -
DMS Object Link at Maintenence Order and Service order level
Hi SAP Gurus,
We had a requirement for maintaining DMS Object at Service order and maintenence order level, as Standard DMS does not provide any Standard Object link at Order level, we went for development and following the Standard procedure i could bring the Order Tab in CV01N Object Links, and also i could search the relavent maintenence order and maintain documents relevant to it,
But the biggest problem now is i could not create DIR from the Maintenence or service order screen IW31, and the document i have placed at the order is not visible in the order screen at all,
i know it is some sort of enhancement in the Order screen to allow DMS Documents to appear in the Order screen to provide this funtionality.
let me pls know what exactly has to be done, as there is no config at the order level to get the DMS Screen, as DMS is not a standard object at the order level.
one approch as suggested is modifiying the Order screen or using Screen Exit Enhancement for Order but not sure which one to use or how to move ahead,
Thanks n Regards
Priya SDear Christoph Hopf
Many Thanks for your answer,
i went through the said SAP Note, but it only speaks about the notifications level, where SAP itself has provided the standard DMS Object links, and iam in latest ECC-6 version where this note is taken care of i think,
iam looking for creating DMS Document (DIR) from the maintenence Order IW31 transaction screen, and have developed new Object link for Maintenence order,
but the main problem is, iam not able to create DIR from the IW31 Screen directly as Maintennce order is not a standard SAP Object,
please let me know how to get the list of documents that i have attached to a maintenence order to appear in the IW32 maintenence order screen, and also we need to create the documents (DIR) directly from IW31 / 32 screens.
Thanks and Regards,
PriyaS
