Difference between SAP HR & SAP CRM Extraction

Hi,
Can some one please explain me what is the difference or changes that we need to do while extracting the data from SAP CRM, SAP HR and SAP FICO (I know to extract the data from SAP FICO, by using Geniric extractor)
Thanks in advance,
CHANDRA

Hi,
Extraction procedure is the same,But when we want to Extract the data from CRM we have standard Extractors for the Attributes,Texts,Hierarchies and Transactional data.Apart from these we want any other data to be Extracted in BI we need to design the Generic Extractors.
Same in the case of SAP HR and SAP FICO also.

Pavan.

  • What is the difference between R/3 & SAP CRM

    Hi,
Please explain the difference between R/3 & SAP CRM

    Hi Abhishek,
R/3 and CRM are two completely different systems. R/3 is the leading system. CRM is like a child system of R/3. R/3 interacts with many other systems.(like SRM ,SCM, CRM etc).
Not all functionalties of R/3 will be available in CRM.
CRM has functionlaities whch are more customer oriented where we can capture all customer related data where R/3 is a system where backend processing happens EG: Billing.
For Eg: you create a sales order in CRM and then send it to R/3 for billing purposes.
The communication between R/3 and CRM is done by a technology called Middleware. You can refer to the below link for this.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/c3/95fc381478ab6fe10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
You can refer to 'help.sap.com' and under 'SAP Business Suite' you will find 'SAP Customer Relationship Management' which gives you comprehensive view about CRM.
CRM has various releases like 4.0,5.0,6.0,7.0(7.0 being the latest). You will find all the details about CRM under the above path.
Also if your search in the web you will find lots of articles on CRM and R/3.
    Thanks,
    Abishek

  • What is the difference between ERP2004 and SAP 47 Enterprise?

Currently we have SAP 47 Enterprise with WAS 6.2. I understand ERP2004 is NW and 6.4 sp9. Can any one please let me know the major difference between ERP2004 and SAP 4.7 Enterprise ( more from abap / workflow view)?
    Thanks
    Swamy

From Abap point of view some of the major add-on in erp2004,netwever :
    1) Development of webdynpro studio for java development for portal and iviews.
    2) Major abap development uses <b>Abap object oriented</b> methodology, rathet hten old conventional Abap,i.e MVC model (Model,View,Controller) where in it uses concept of classes, interfaces, etc.
    3) Advanced BSP tech using MVC model to develop web based modules
    4) It is closesly integrated with web-based CRM and BW/APO

  • Difference Between Book on sap press and Advice on which book I should take ?

    Hello,
Could someone explain me the difference between those two Sap Press.
SAP CRM Web Client Customizing and Development
    http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-CRM-Web-Client-Customizing-and-Development.html
SAP Web Client: A Comprehensive Guide for Developers
    http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Web-Client%3A-A-Comprehensive-Guide-for-Developers.html
I thought that web client were only in SAP CRM ?
I have only done ECC and CRM.
did the SAP Web Client include the SAP CRM web Client ?
As I wiork on SAP CRM, I suppose that the "SAP CRM Web Client Customizing and Development" would be the better choice.
    Best Regards.
    Abdou BOURAKBA

"SAP CRM Web Client Customizing and Development" is an older release is more focused on the functional/technical customizing of the Web Client and "SAP Web Client: A Comprehensive Guide for Developers" if purely focused on development. I purchased both and I think are very complementary.
I thought that web client were only in SAP CRM ?
From ECC ehp4 (I belive) WebClient was shipped as part of the Netweaver solution.
did the SAP Web Client include the SAP CRM web Client ?
Are the same, when SAP decided to include Web Client as part of the Netweaver solution, they changed the name because the Web Client is no longer CRM specific.
    Cheers!

  • What is the difference between mySAP2004 and SAP ERP 2004?

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me what is the difference between mySAP2004 and SAP ERP 2004?
If someone has the document, then please mail me at [email protected]
    With Regards
    tiffny

    Hi Tiffny,
actually I don't see a difference as "mySAP2004" is not an official name for anything
There is "mySAP ERP 2004" which is the marketing name for a bunch of functionality provided by several different bits of software components.

  • Difference between Business Analyst SAP SD and SAP SD consultant

    Hi friends
I need openion about what is difference between Business Analyst SAP SD and SAP SD consultant.
    Raj

Both the roles are more likely the same, In consulting companies like IBM, Deloitte , TCS and others SAP functional anlayst is a more popular term but if you work directly with a SAP client - SAP Business Analyst is what they refer to a functional anlayst. Most of the responsibilities are same but they are some roles which require more of ANALYST person who can gather requirements, GAP Analysis, IS - TO BE and etc and less of configuration or customization in SAP therefore they sometimes call it SAP Business Analyst but in both cases the configuration knowledge and experience about specific modules is required.
    Thanks

I'm on setup of a EWA but when i´m on the configuration (dates, transfers ewa to sap, archiving of EWA etc) i see 2 check boxes
that i don't know what is the difference
    The path is the following
Tcode = DSWP --> Select the solution --> (the left column) Operations Setup --> Solution Monitoring --> EarlyWatch Alert  --> Setup EarlyWatch Alert
Could you tell me what is the difference between "Send to SAP" and "Send EWA alerts to SAP" boxes?
Thanks and have a nice day

    Hello Cherios,
The "Send to SAP" check box is used when you want to sent a Production or Test (Quality) systems EWA data to SAP for analysis.
Currently the "Send EWA Alerts to SAP" is not used at this time, and actually cannot be selected, and saved.
There should now be no doubt about the two check box fields .
    Hope this information is helpful.

  • Whats the functional difference between user IDs SAP* and DDIC?

Whats the functional difference between SAP* and DDIC? Can any one tell me please. I am new here. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Farooq,
There are three user IDs in various SAP clients.
    1. SAP* (Client 000 and 001)
SAP* denotes the default super user and has all administrative powers.
    2. DDIC (Client 000 and 001)
DDIC user is responsible for the maintenance of the ABAP/4 Dictionary and the software logistics.
    3. EarlyWatch (Client 066)
The EarlyWatch user has access only to monitoring and performance data.
Please check this link for more information on data dictionary objects.

  • Hi can some tell me what is the difference between sapr3 and sap business 1

is there any difference between sap business one and sap r3 if i learn sd module

    Hi Siva,
The SD module from R/3 is completely unrelated to the business processes and technologies used in SAP Business One (SBO). R/3 and SBO are completely different products and direct comparisons are difficult. I don't think learning one will help in any degree in learning the other. With R/3 you tend to specialise in one area (eg SD) as the complexity and scale of implementations requires this specialisation. With SBO, a single consultant would be expected to know the whole product. SBO is a much simpler product designed for small to medium sized companies so the processes are much more generic.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • Difference between R/3 and CRM systems

    Hi,
I want to know difference between R/3 and other systems like CRM, SCM. Shall we need XI to integrate them..
I think that CRM,SCM are the modules of R/3 is correct..
What kind of applications they are...
    Thanks,
    RamuV

    Hi Ramu,
As you said they are R3 Applications only.
can be connected with the help of XI.
CRM uses BDOCs but XI can only deal with IDOCs. So when you will be working with BDOCs of CRM, then in CRM you will have to create custom IDOCs for the corresponding BDOCs and then you can have File-IDOC and IDOC-file scenarios working via XI to communicate between your CRM server.

  • Key Configuration differences between SAP and ORACLE Financials

    Hello,
After spending good 7 years in SAP related projects recently I started working in ORACLE Applications. I used to be an ORACLE programmer years back. To my surprise the same <b><u>ORACLE Forms</u></b> are still very much the heart of the ORACLE UI.
Then I thought what will be the key differences between ORACLE and SAP in terms of configuration elements. While I know a bunch of configuraion items in SAP , I am not sure about the same in ORACLE world. I am not even sure some of the configuration items that are available in SAP exists in ORACLE.
Does anyone know both sides of the coin ? The terminology and design ?
    SAP has
Client,Company code, Business area, Functional Area, GL, Posting Key, Document Type.
I am trying to get the details of the equivalents of these in ORACLE.
    Does anyone know it ?
    For e.g , when you post to <b>AP</b> or <b>AR</b> in <b>SAP</b> , <b>GL</b> is updated  automatically. In <b>ORACLE</b> you post to a <b>AP Book</b> or <b>AR Book</b> then Run a batch to move them to <b><u>GL Book</u></b>.
ORACLE uses SQLLoader to load data . You can write a PL SQL and update the tables directly, which is not the case in SAP. For dataloads and conversions, SAP uses BDC's ( though XI can be used but its slow). For ORACLE its the good old SQL and PlSQL combo.
What are the equivalents of the configuration elements in ORACLE world ?
Also what are the major differences between these two in terms of designing a financial system.
    Does any one know ?

    Genie,
I agree that a case is made on how well these two ERPs solve the day to day tasks before a company chooses one of these two. But my question is aimed at finance to begin with. You are going to need a general ledger for any company or government regardless of ERP. And how well you can drive the ledger to map your business is the key here.
The way ledger is built is around a business area ,company or country and is very tighly designed in SAP. I would like to know if there is any equivalent of the configuration items in ORACLE. I am more interested in terminology of ORACLE.
    For example ,
    <u><b><u><b>SAP ====> ORACLE</b></u>
    <u><b>GL ==> Book In ORACLE</b></u>
    <b><u>Document Number ===> Invoice Number</u></b>
<b><u>Posting Period in SAP ==> Posting period In ORACLE</b></u></u></b>
Most of the terms are finance terms , so they are common ( eg. an account number is an account number in ORACLE and SAP ) between two systems. I am interested in any specific thing that is available in ORACLE but not in SAP and  vice verse.
thanks for the link you have provided.
    Its very useful.

  • Difference between SAP-PS, SAP_RPM, Cprojects, SAP-ppm

    Hi
can anyone please tell me the difference between
    1. SAP-PS
    2. SAP Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP- RPM)
3, SAP Project Portfolio Management  SAP-PPM)
    4. cProjects
    Thanks..

    Hi Julio
    1. SAP-PS --> Project Systems SAP ERP based Project Management tool. It is tightly integrated with SAP Core modules like MM,SD,FICO.
it is SAP GUI based just like other core modules. it is used in project oriented scenarios like EC&O, real estate, complex MTO scenarios.
    2. SAP Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP- RPM) --> SAP Enterprise Portal based Resource and portfolio management tool, it is used to manage portfolio of multiple projects, proposals, initiatives. Its UI is SAP Enterprise portal and it is integrated with SAP cProjects/ SAP PS.
3, SAP Project Portfolio Management SAP-PPM)
Same as 2, but SAP is now using term PPM for next relelases of xRPM, SAP is coming up with SAP PPM 5.0 ,
current version in market is SAP RPM 4.5
    4. cProjects - It is web based Project Management tool. It is used for simpler projects like IT Projects, R&D projects etc, which does not require very tight integration with SAP ERP core modules. cProjects is integrated to some extent with SAP PS & FI-CO
Hope i have done my best extent to give answer.
    Thanks
