  • Difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft

    Hi Experts ,
Can anyone tell me the difference between SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 and SAP NetWeaver Gateway productivity accelerator for Microsoft ?
    Best Regards,
    SK

SAP  Netweaver Gateway 2.0 is a product for Exposing ERP data as OData for external consumption which is independent of any Microsoft product. Using this you can model OData services and Expose them for light weight consumption. You can use this in use cases where  you just want to consume the OData in some client or so, and you do not want any kind of accelerators to help you in development or in your integration.
GWPAM is an interoperability framework from SAP that leverages SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Microsoft technologies enabling customers and partners to easily and quickly compose solutions that consume and extend SAP throughout Microsoft technologies for on premise and on demand deployment. With GWPAM you get components like
GWPAM Visual Studio Add-On,GWPAM Template,GWPAM Project,GWPAM Outlook Add-In which are very much Microsoft specific.

  • Difference between SAP Netweaver PI and SAP Netweaver Mobile and SAP DOE

    HI,
I am learning Sybase Unwired Platform  and SAP PI 7.1.  I was going through SUP and SAP configuration documentation. I am really confused at one point. Does this SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 and SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1 are same?. What is these DOE connector? is these DOE and SAP Netweaver Mobile 7.1are same? .
I have gone through various documents. but still i am very much confused. I am very much new to this platforms.
Can any one please help me in above topics.

Yes latest version is Netweaver mobile 7.1. and in one of the documentation of Netweaver 7.3 it is said that,
to download the non-ABAP software that is relevant for SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.3.
http://service.sap.com/swdc -->  Downloads --> Support Packages and Patches --> Support Packages and Patched u2014 Entry by Application Group --> SAP NetWeaver and complementary products --> SAP NETWEAVER MOBILE --> SAP NETWEAVER MOBILE 7.3 --> Entry by Component --> Mobile Client --> NW MOBILE CLIENT SETUP 7.3 .
Actually my problem is, I am unable to get DOE Setup.exe file. I am able to download only .SAR file. If i configure SUP with SAP Netweaver mobile 7.1. i need to install DOE seperatly.
In one of the forum, it is said that
if we want to use CRM mobile, we need the following landscape to deploy it (for example):
1.) ECC Backend (your CRM Backend, off course you need this)
2.) Netweaver Mobile 7.3 (This is the DOE part, including ESDMA)
    3.) Sybase SUP
Well, you need to connect SUP and NWM7.1 together. To do this you need to install a DOE-Connector in Sybase. The NWM7.3 contains the counter part to DOE-C which is the ESDMA stuff. This is now included in NWM7.3. If you run still NWM7.1 you need to install that piece of connector as a separate add on.
This is where i got confused and was searching for NWM7.3.
    Thanks

  • Difference between SAP R/3 , ECC and MySAP

    Hi,
I would like to know the difference between SAP R/3 ,ECC and MySAP. Please let me know the difference , the links earlier found were not getting into my brains.
To my understanding the SAP R/3 4.5b,4.6c - earlier versions contains the basic modules like Logistics(MM,SD) and PP (core functional modules), on technical point the little function modules were obsolete in these version.
4.7 (included the Web application server, for web based and integrating with XI,Enterprise core ,Enterprise Extensions ) + core functional modules +.HR + FI/CO+ SCM (MM,WM,PP) + PLM
ECC (Enterprise Core Component) - ?
    MySAP - ?
Correct me and also your answer will help me understand better.
    Regards
    Shawn

ECC 6.0 means it is an latest version of SAP ERP package (ERP Central components). it will support for netweaver and BW.
Chk this links for more details.
    ECC 6.0 clarification

  • Difference between SAP 7.0 and 7.1

    Hi,
We are working on NW2004 and NW2004s.
Recently SAP announced support for SAP 7.1
I wanted to know whats the major difference between SAP 7.0 and 7.1.
I did not get a good link which tells the difference.
Any link here would be very helpful.
    Best regards
    Manoj

Well the link above is only targeting NetWeaver CE 7.1 and that's no full coverage for the NW2004/2004s features. What I mean is that CE is not a successor of NW but kind of a side-product mostly intended for developing and running composite applications. You cannot upgrade from NW2004/2004s to CE since CE will not offer you the full NW2004/2004s functionality.
Besides CE there is only 7.1 version of PI/XI released. I beleive the full NetWeaver 7.1 will be released at some point of time but it's not the case yet.
    So:
If you're seeking for an upgrade of your NW2004/2004s NetWeaver systems you should wait for the next release of the full NetWeaver that will eventually be based on 7.1 (except for PI systems which already have a new 7.1 release).
If you want to have systems to develop on using the new cool features you can install some additional CE 7.1 server(s)

  • Functional Differences between SAP 4.6 version and SAP 6.0 version

What are the functional and display differences between SAP 4.6 and SAP 6.0 versions?

There are several changes have been done... and of course it is beyond the scope to discuss in this forum area.. but the guideline can be provided here, where you can find out relevant information - Please check the following links:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-70?rid=/webcontent/uuid/401a43d0-be49-2a10-a192-f03503a00825 [original link is broken]
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/SAPERP6.0
Some part of earlier SAP functionality now included into separate solutions as part of NetWeaver (for e.g. HR has incorporated into HCM). Also there are several new functionality (you may say "Module" as per earlier concept) as come into picture as part of some Industry Solutions (IS). You need to install them as Add-On.
In SMP.. go to Solution details --> Release Information .. check the information provided here.
Sorry as I can't able to give you all Older functional module details as you wanted ... it's really tough to expedite in this short scope (as per my opinion).

    ENDIF.

    Hi Paluri
Here is the difference between SAP locks and Database locks, i will try to find the solution to your code.
    Regards
    Ashish
Database Locks: The database system automatically sets database locks when it receives change statements (INSERT, UPDATE, MODIFY, DELETE) from a program. Database locks are physical locks on the database entries affected by these statements. You can only set a lock for an existing database entry, since the lock mechanism uses a lock flag in the entry. These flags are automatically deleted in each database commit. This means that database locks can never be set for longer than a single database LUW; in other words, a single dialog step in an R/3 application program.
Physical locks in the database system are therefore insufficient for the requirements of an R/3 transaction. Locks in the R/3 System must remain set for the duration of a whole SAP LUW, that is, over several dialog steps. They must also be capable of being handled by different work processes and even different application servers. Consequently, each lock must apply on all servers in that R/3 System.
    SAP Locks:
To complement the SAP LUW concept, in which bundled database changes are made in a single database LUW, the R/3 System also contains a lock mechanism, fully independent of database locks, that allows you to set a lock that spans several dialog steps. These locks are known as SAP locks.
The SAP lock concept is based on lock objects. Lock objects allow you to set an SAP lock for an entire application object. An application object consists of one or more entries in a database table, or entries from more than one database table that are linked using foreign key relationships.
Before you can set an SAP lock in an ABAP program, you must first create a lock object in the ABAP Dictionary.

  • What is difference between SAP R3 And SAP IS Mills Product

    HI Friends
What is difference between SAP R3 And SAP IS Mills Product
What are the futures are availables in IS MIlls
    Regards

    Hi,
SAP R/3 is the central enterprise version. It is not specifically designed for any inducstry sectors and it can cater many of the industry types.
Is is developed for specific industries an for SMB's (small and medium business). It will have components specifically for the industry.
The SAP Mill Products component adds sector-specific functionality to an ERP system to satisfy the complex requirements of mill industries (e.g. metal, wood, paper, textiles, construction materials, and cable sectors).
These industry segments differ from others primarily in that the materials used have a large number of characteristics and variants. The materials in the segments listed above are also predominantly area-based (e.g. paper, textiles, plastic film) or length-based (e.g. cables, piping). Account must be taken of these material characteristics throughout the entire supply chain.
To cater for the particularities of these industry segments, SAP Mill Products features processes and functions that cover the entire supply-chain cycle – from product design and configuration, through planning, order processing, capacity planning and production, to final delivery. Additional functions are available in costing and inventory management. SAP Mill Products are also integrated into Quality Management, Financial Accounting, and Controlling.

  • Difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow

    Hello guys,
Is there any difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow?
Are there others workflows types in SAP?
In all SAP Workflow Courses (BIT600, BIT601, BIT603, BIT610) only was talked about SAP Business Workflow, and nothing about CRM Workflow.
    Thanks a lot!
    Kleber

    Hello Kleber,
There is not much of the differance between CRM workflows and SAP Business  workflows..
Workflows are esentially part of Basis (BC) components and hence its the same across all SAP products as all these products have components of Basis(BC) in them...
To Conclude, SAP Busines workflows and CRM workflows are the same things... However when you work on CRM, the BOR objects would be belonging to CRM and not to ECC... However conceptwise , there in no change at all.. If you learn BIT100......, you can also work on CRM workflows..

Purchase price difference between SAP R/3 and BWI report
What is purchase price variance ?, my user is telling that  in SAP R/3, purchase price variance 100 and in  BWI  report it is 200 .
Any other terminologies are there for purchase price variance ?
And any idea wherefrom BWI will take this purchase price variance ?

Purchase price variance is he difference in price between the amount paid to the supplier and the planned or standard cost of that item
Request you to check your data first in your Cube/ODS, better would be to check in the data container where the data is first loaded.
Also check if this field is getting directly loaded as 1-to-1 mapping.
