  • Difference between Technical and Business transaction archiving?

    Hi Guys,
Can any one explain the difference between Technical and business transaction archiving with practical example?
When we will go for Technical archiving and when we will go for business transaction archiving?
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

    Hello Vinod,
To me, Archiving Objects can be separated into 3 categories; Technical, Master Data and Transactional.  Technical Archiving would include archive objects such as IDOC's, BC_SBAL (application logs), BDCLOGPROD (batch input logs), etc.  Master Data Archive Objects would include MM_MATNR (material master), FI_ACCPAYB (vendor master data), FI_ACCRECV (customer master data), etc.  And, Transactional Archive Objects would include FI_DOCUMNT (financial documents), SD_VBAK (sales orders), MM_EKKO (purchase orders), etc.
Techincal Archive Objects usually are easier to implement and require less resources.  Master Data and Transactional Archive Objects usually take longer to implement as they will require business testing and sign-off.
This is a high-level explanation and I hope it helps answer your questions.

  • Difference between wc27 and md01 transactions?

    Hi Experts,
Could you please tell me what is the difference between wc27 and md01 transactions?
    Best Regards,
    Parag Save.

MD01 is the transaction for running the MRP in the foreground (online).  WC27 is for running the MRP in the background (batch), but you can also do via MDBT.  In MDBT when you create or edit total planning variant you are running the same program as WC27.  Typically you use just MDBT if you want to create MRP batch jobs.

    Dear Nidhi Srivastva
MMBE(Stock over view ) : By using this transaction code we can get the information pertinent to the particular material stock levels in the respective plant and storage locations.
With the help of the detailed display we will know wether the material is in transit mode ,restricted ,unrestricted and so on........

  • Difference between ob08 and oc41 Transaction code in Exchange rate

    Hi,
Can any one help me out what is the difference between OB08 and Oc41 in transaction code in Exchange rates...
    Thanks in Advance
    Sivanand

    hi Siva,
When foreign currencies are valuated, all the open items that were posted in a foreign currency are valuated. The valuation is based on the individual open items in a foreign currency, that is, each open item in a foreign currency is valuated individually.
The exchange rate table is OB08
    AND
OC41 is another transaction to the exchange rate table.
When you try to change you cannt change the rates sometimes.... but u can see the rates displayed.......

  • Difference between SWEC and SWED transactions

    Hi all,
SWEC is used to link the Change Doc. Object with Business Object event.
SWED is used to link Change Doc. Object with Primary Table.
    My qus. is ->
    (1) Change Doc. object which is used in SWEC is linked to table(s) in SCDO tcode. Then what is the need to configure again in tcode SWED ?
    (2) While linking Changed Doc. obj. with workflow through Business Object, do we need to configure in both (SWEC and SWED) or only in SWEC ?
    Thanks,
    Deb

    Hi DM,
If you are aware of change documents, then you must be aware of change document tables i.e; CDHDR & CDPOS.
There table capture all changes made to a document like PO, SO, PR etc.
Similary, in SWED, you define which changes should be captured/recorded for your documents with respect to workflow.
For example, if you have created an entry in SWED table for PO & you have checked all the checkboxes, i.e; CREATE, CHANGE & DELETE, then whenever a PO is created/changed & Deleted, it will be logged.
You make use of this log to trigger your workflow using events.
This event-->CDO relation is done through SWEC.
Here you define which event should be triggered upon which action.
For example if you want to trigger your Z-event upon PO deletion, then you can configure it here.
Hope i was able to explain you.

  • Difference between ME58 and ME59

    HI,
What is the difference between ME58 and ME59 transactions?

    HI,
ME58 allows the user to pick assigned requisitions and manually convert them into POs. First you enter the criteria to select the purchase requisitions. These are then grouped by vendor (and contract). User manually selects a vendor to process. Select the order type, purchasing group etc., copy the requisition lines into the PO and save.
ME59 selects requisitions and lists the ones it was able to convert into POs.
There is a big difference on the level of control between the two transactions and businesses using ME59 should put a manual review step in if they are converting requisitions generated from MRP.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..
    Cheers,
    Chandra Sekhar.

  • Difference between CO88 and KO88?

    Hi All,
    1. Any difference between CO88 and KO88 transactions(Please explain clearly)?
    2. Found one <b>REVERSE</b> menu item in the menu bar in both transactions. What is the purpose?
    3. Any <b>Functon module or BAPI</b> to acheive same result?( Above SAP transactions are performing for Reverse and Settlement).
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rocky

KO88 allows you to settle production orders one at a time.  You specify the order number
CO88 is a collective process and will settle all order in a plant (or all plants) that have had WIP and Variance calculations pocessed.
We use CO88 in the background as an overnight process and then use KO88 if orders needed correction and settlement individually (no point in running the entire plant to get 1 order)
KO88 and CO88 should both be tested when new processes are created.

  • What is the difference between action and workflow? How do I decide that I need an action in a transaction and not a workflow and vice versa?

    Dear Experts,
I have few doubts and request your expert inputs to clarify my doubts.
What is the difference between action and workflow? How do I decide that I need an action in a transaction and not a workflow and vice versa?
Your earliest response is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    SMTP

    Hi SMTP,
First of all, as I mentioned action is nothing but an executable work item which is designed in the workflow itself. In other words, Workflow is like your OOPS class. At run time, workflow instances are created just like objects of classes. Now, the steps designed in the workflow are called TASKS and the instances of tasks are called WORKITEMS. Now, the work items where any user action is required are called executable work items. ANd the work items where no user action is required (for example, sending an email in background) are called non-executable work items.
Whether to go with development of workflow or not depends upon your business scenario. If your requirement is only to send an email and you find any BAdi or exit where in you can write your logic then there is no need of creating a workflow. If there is a defined business process with defined users and time lines, then you can go with the development of workflows.

  • What is Difference between SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONITOR?

what is Difference between SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONITOR?
Can any explain to this question.please?

    Hello,
    Both are same.
SXMB_MONI is area menu which will contain all multiple transactions pertaining to monitoring.
SXMB_MONI contains some functions viz monitoring for Bridging, Archived Msgs, Job overview, persistence layer analysis.
SXI_monitor directly leads to the message monitoring for the IS, which is part of the SXMB_MONI.
SXI_MONITOR directly executes the monitoring report.

  • Difference between BAPI and RFC?

    Difference between BAPI and RFC?
also where to use BAPI and where to use RFC?

    Hi,
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( )  With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
GetDetail()  With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method.  BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
Delete( ) and Undelete( )  The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
Cancel ( )  Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( )  The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

  • ABST2 - Differences between Assets and G/L accts

    Hi Experts
We are working on ECC 6.0 and INR is our local currency.
At the end of FY 2007 by mistake direct postings were made to Dep Fund Account which is a Recon a/c and FY 2007 was closed
And because of which FI-GL and FI-AA doesnt match by INR 37353.71 (amt posted in above doc) as shown in ABST2
I've referred SAP notes 104567 & 69225 and found the note 69225 relevant to follow as the difference has not resulted in the current or open years.
So we have passed direct entry which is exactly the reversal of entry posted above using ABF1 (INR -37353.71)
After posting the 2nd document, in ABST2 another line has appeared of INR -37353.71. Although the sum for my recon GL is now zero.
The output of ABST2 is as below now -
Sc  Acct no.   BusA  Year  SG  1st local difference  LCurr  Doc.no.    Period
    AS  31100                2009               37,353.71-        INR     W004
    AS  31100                2009               37,353.71         INR     W004       999
When I come out of ABST2 , addition to 1st, error no 2 is also coming which I thought would disappear.
1.Differences between assets and G/L accts in the balance carried forward
         Message no. MQ555
2.Differences between assets and G/L accounts at the key date
         Message no. MQ557
Is still something else needs to be done?
Or can I move ahead as the summation of the difference is now zero?
    Please suggest.
    Kapil

We referred to SAP and they suggeted that the tagging of W004 in both the lines means that now there is no error even system prompts it as error.
So we continued with the transactions and after closing the FY 2009, today when we run ABST2, we dont get any error messages as there is no difference left between Assets & GL.
