Difference between service order/notification to the maintenace order/notif
Hello friends,
please explain the Difference between service order/notification to the maintenace order/notif and also to the Sales order.
i have a idea on the above topics. iwnt to have a detailed explanation of the above topics.
I know that service order/notification usually for external services.and maintenance O/notification for internal services .
for every post with descent information, points willl be rewarded
Dear raj kumar,
1. Service order and Notification: These are used for Customer Services, i.e., these are used for processing the customer complaints regarding the equipments technical problems installed at customer locations.
In this scenario, we sell equipments to customer and also offers the services for that equipments on chargeable basis or free of cost as per sales terms and conditions.
2. Maintenance order and Notification: These are used for Plants, i.e., for processing the complaints of the equipments which are installed within the plant.
In this scenario, we buy the equipments from the vendors and carry out the maintenance ourselves.
Hope this will be helpful
Regards,
Praveen.

What is the difference between Service Station and Tempro?
Searched for information on this but haven't been able to find it:
What is the difference between Service Station and Tempro?
I have just run the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant and it has installed Service Station but Tempro is already installed and seems to do the same thing.
Regards
BushyHi
Both tools are from Toshiba an notifies you about the new driver updates available on the Toshiba driver page.
As far as I know Tempro is little bit older than the Service Station.
Furthermore the Service Station seems to provide a little bit more options and features as Tempro tool.
However, i recommend using only one Utility my favorite is Service Station -
What is the difference between Service and Component
What is the difference between Service and Component?
Generally, the implementation of a service will be comprised of many components, each of which will be comprised of many objects.
Services should correspond to cohesive collections of use cases (eg an online bank), components are at a finer granularity (eg a table of numbers).

Difference between Service Organization & Plant
I ma new to SAP
What is the difference between Service Orgnization & Plant.
Please do the needful..Corporate Structure
Definition
The material master has a hierarchical structure resembling the organizational structure of a company. Some material data is valid at all organizational levels, while other data is valid only at certain levels. The organizational units are as follows:
Client
Company Code
Plant
Storage Location
Purchasing Organization
Sales Organization
Warehouse Number
Storage Type
Structure
The client is the top level of the organizational level. Several company codes can be assigned to one client. In turn, several plants can be assigned to a company code, and several storage locations assigned to a plant.
Plants must always be consecutively numbered for all company codes. Consequently, plants assigned to different company codes cannot have the same number. However, the numbers of storage locations can be repeated, as long as they are assigned to different plants.
Service providers are members of internal or external service organizations and are represented using:
Service and sales organizations
Service centers, service workshops
Service technicians
External service providers (vendors, contractors)
You manage all data that is required for processing business scenarios with vendors in a vendor master record.
Service recipients are also members of internal or external organizations. Internal service recipients are internal company organizational units (for example, cost centers). External service recipients are represented using:
Customers
Customer employees
Customer data is managed in a customer master record. Not only the data concerning the ordering party belongs here, but also data about the goods recipient and the invoice recipient. You can represent complex customer structures as customer hierarchies.
By integrating Customer Service in the Accounting component, the organizational units of Financial Accounting and Controlling are linked directly to the service processes. Service organizations are represented in the finance and controlling area using:
Company codes
Controlling areas
Business areas
The Logistics areas Materials Management and Stockkeeping enable you to perform resource management using organizational units such as plants and storage locations. Spare parts and external services are procured via the purchasing organizations and purchasing groups.
You can group the service technicians responsible for performing the services using work centers. Planner groups at a planning plant are responsible for scheduling the services to be performed by these work centers.
The units of the sales organization must be represented for the purchase of spare parts and services. You can represent this organization using:
Sales organization
Distribution channels
Sales areas
Shipping and loading points -
Difference between Service BOM and Manufacturing BOM
One fundamental question
What is the difference between Service BOM and Manufacturing BOM. Also what is the difference between Manufacturing BOM and Engineering BOM.
Why should a business create these 3 kinds of BOM's for their operations. cant 1 kind of BOM suffice ?This is a business definition that your business people should be able to tell you.
Both are BoMs - it's just a question of which parts are defined under each category.
Usually, "Service" BOMs are created by service org personnel as and when required, eg at new item introduction or new option introduction.
"Manufacturing" BoMs are created by Engineering personnel and are the ones used when creating an order for a machine.
Hope that it helps.
Cheers,

Difference Between Service Account and User Account
What is the Difference Between Service Account and User Account
Hello Mohit,
Basically there are two types of approches which you should understand.
In many environments, administrators prefer to simply create a domain user account and assign appropriate privileges to it. Then this user account is used in order to start a specific service on a computer.
In that case there is really no difference between a user account and the so called service accounts. Since this service account is simply a domain user, all the task related to managing the domain users apply to it. For example you
should keep the password up to date manually. Some environment move step forward and assign
Deny Logon Locally of this type of service account in order to enhance the security.
The second concept is Managed Service Accounts. There are plenty of differences between a Managed Service Account and a User Account.
The Display Icon is different from a view perspective.
The type of object is different.
Managed service accounts password management is automatic.
You can not create Managed Service Accounts using GUI. They are only created using Powershell.
You can refer to link below for more inormation:

But Patch level where can we see ?? what is the Tcode for that ?? or just we got
to go through below links ??
http://<host>:<j2ee_http_port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo
also
http://<host>:<j2ee_http_port>/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo for core system info (J2EE or JVM patch level, etc.)
thanks
kumarHello,
A service pack (in short SP) is a collection of updates, fixes and/or enhancements to a software program delivered in the form of a single installable package. Service packs are usually numbered, and thus shortly referred to as SP1, SP2, etc. It is notable that they may bring, besides bug fixes, entirely new features
A patch (sometimes called a "fix") is a quick-repair job for a piece of programming. During a software product's beta test distribution or try-out period and later after the product is formally released, problems (called bug) will almost invariably be found. A patch is the immediate solution that is provided to users; it can sometimes be downloaded from the software maker's Web site. The patch is not necessarily the best solution for the problem and the product developers often find a better solution to provide when they package the product for its next release. -
Difference between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting
Hi,
Can you please help me identifying the main differences between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting? Advantages and disadvantages?
Thanks a lotHi LCD777,
Forecasting at DP & CRM are altogether at different entities. CRM involves webbased data transfer mechanism tool whereas DP is database/livecache driven tool.
In CRM, you dont get optimised solution of forecasting out of it whereas in DP you can get as much as
optimised solution & flexibility as per your requirements.
DP is majorly a forecasting tool where in huge statistical method functionalities are embedded in
whereas CRM is majorly a transactional tool wherein it involves gathering of forecast data and executing it.
Typically, CRM will be integrated with DP containing GATP environment & ECC so that DP will plan for forecast data, ECC system drives sales order data & GATP calls for availability check and finally
the forecast execution& transactions will be controlled by CRM

GangaHi Arjun,
For every Billing Documnet created(VBRK/VBRP-VBELN) there will be an accounting document created in BSID/BSAD tables.
OPEN ITEMS means the Billed/Invoice Amounts that are pending from Customers, i.e which we have to receive from Customers.
CLOSED ITEMS means the AMOUNTS received from that customer.
OPEN ITEMS : fetch data from BSID table Only
CLOSED ITEMS : fetch data from BSAD only.
ALL POSTINGS : fetch data from both BSID and BSAD.
Hope this will help.

Difference between Service Pack 5 for CR-XI (R2) and BOE-XI (R2)
Difference between "Service Pack 5" for CR-XI (R2) and BOE-XI (R2)
========
There are two different "Service Pack 5" files available for download...
CRYSTAL REPORTS XI (R2) = crxir2win_sp5.exe
BUSINESS OBJECTS ENTERPRISE XI (R2) = boxir2win_sp5.exe
If we have workstations that have both CRYSTAL REPORTS XI and the BUSINESS OBJECTS ENTERPRISE "Client Tools" installed locally on them do I need to run both versions of the "Service Pack 5" - or will running just one (1) of them update all the installed desktop tools...?
Thanks in advance!I think the CR patch has client issues only.
The enterrpsie one is sufficient in most cases. Is that CR XIR1 or CR XIR2 client you have installed? Make sure it's CR XIR2 or you could run into issues

Difference between service entry sheet and goods receipt?
Hi all,
What is difference between service entry sheet and goods receipt?
Thanks!Hi,
**Service Entry Sheet:: It** is only for Indirect material (or ) services
In the service p.o you have to Give the G/L account in the P.O
It is one form of Goods Receipts for all the service related P.O what you are raising.
For Example:
1 Service charges for cleaning A/c- Rs 100/Hr.
P.O can be raised for 200 hr. when the service is completed say for 2 hrs. You can raise service entry sheet for 2 hrs and the vendor gets payment of Rs 200.
Goods Receipts: For Direct material procurement only .
G/L account is determined based on OBYC setting.
