Difference between Test workbench and HP Quality center

Hello,
What is the difference between SAP test Workbench and the HP Quality center? what is the advantage and disadvantage of each tool?
Thanks in advance
Hassan

the error is in Solution Manager. I am defining the communication parameters in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN / <selected project> / edit / Connection to HP Quality Center. I choose the corresponding project in Quality Center, but when I validate the screen, I get the error I mentioned before, even though the communication user exists in HPQC and is assigned to that specific project.
Thanks for your reply.

  • Integration between Soluiotn Manager and HP Quality Center

    Hi Folks,
I am currently configuring the integration between Solution Manager and HP Quality Center, and during the set up of communication user, I get the following error:
User hpqc_comm is not authorized to access projects
    Message no. QC_INTEGRATION016
    Diagnosis
You want to access projects in the Quality Center with the communication user hpqc_comm. This causes an error because the user either does not exist in the Quality Center or is not assigned to any project.
    Procedure
Check whether the user hpqc_comm is in the Quality Center, and whether it is assigned to at least one project. Ask the Quality Center administrator to create the user and assign it to projects, if necessary.
You can use another user for the communication
Well, I have created that user in HPQC and assigned it to projects.
    Thanks for your help

  • What's the Difference Between Better Performance and Better Quality

I am making a DVD of a wedding from a tape and I usually create an image and then transfer it to my PC to burn because my Mac Mini doesn't have a DVD burner. It is telling me that my project has exceded 4.2 GB which I figured would happen but would dread if it did. Well i was wondering what type of quality loss would happen if I used Best Quality? Or is there a way to make a Disc image that I dont know of? Any suggestions would be helpful.

If you don't have a DL SuperDrive, I don't think you can create a disk image over two hours.
Well i was wondering what type of quality loss would happen if I used Best Quality?
Best Quality is just that, best quality encoding. I use it for every project.

  • Difference between signal strenght and quality?

    Hi all,
    As per Cisco documentation
Low RF signal strength does not mean poor communication.
Low signal quality does mean poor communications.
If someone can explain me difference  between signal strength and signal quality?
As per my home AP  i can see that signal strengh is measured in numbers like 50 %  or 100%.
But what is signal quality and how me measure it ?
    thanks
    mahesh

    Great question ....
First, lets look at the concept of signal quality and strength ... Suppose for a minute you are front row at a rock concert right next to the speakers. The sounds is so loud you cant hear anything but screaming. This is an exmaple of a loud signal but poor quality.
As for measuring the signal and noise or should we say quality of signal. Vendors sometimes give you a % or dB scale when grading the signal. You really cant make headers or tails from the % scale becuase each vendor has different % measurements. But check your ap, becuase you may have the option to change it to dB.
Lets look at dBm. Right now my client is showing:
    Signal -59 dBm
    Noise -98 dBm
The dB scale is simple. The lower the dB the LOUDER the signal. You will see -59 of signal is good, in fact I am about 50 feet from the AP. If you are right under the ap you will get like a -30ish. Noise, we dont want to be loud, so we want to see noise at -100. The lower the noise dB the louder the noise is.
So back to out example above. Next to the speaker, you are showing say -30dBm but your noise may be like -70dBm...
    Does this make sense?
You normally like to see your signal no higher than -67 for voice or -76 for data. And your noise should be higher than -90.

  • Difference between Testing Message in Integarion Engine and Adapter Engine

    Hi Experts,
in project, we always test message in runtime workbench>component monitoring>integration engine-->Test Messge
however, i also find that in  runtime workbench>component monitoring>adapter engine also exists a Test Message tab.
we don't have access to test messages in this tab, so can anyone tell that what is the difference between testing message in integration engine and adapter engine?
    thanks in advance.

The usual flow of messages in scenarios which use adapters at both sender and receiver end is as follows
Sender system -> Adapter Engine -> Integration Engine -> Adapter Engine -> Receiver system
When you use the testing option in IE, then you are basically posting the message directly to the Integration Engine.
When you use the testing option in AE, then you are trying to post the message to the adapter engine, which will then forward the message to the Integration Engine. IN this testing, you are also testing the sender adapter also.

  • Quality difference between S-video and RCA

Can someone tell me what's the difference (in quality) between S-video out and RCA out?
I'm using RCA out because with s-video, the image shows up in black and white on my TV.
It would help to know I'm not loosing too much quality this way...
    Regards everyone.

    pauliewog is speechless
But what Robi says is true!
The various forms of (analogue) signal transfer are, in descending order of quality:
RGB - The Red, Green and Blue signals are generated by the PC (say), and connected by separate wires to ultimately control the Red, Green and Blue electron guns of the display monitor/TV set. The standard 15-pin "VGA" connector is RGB (plus H and V synchronising pulses).
YUV - Also called Component, and YCrCb, as found on DVD players. The Y is the luminance, or Black-and-White component, while the Cr and Cb are the Differences between the Y and the Red and Blue signals respectively. Usually, the Y signal has higher bandwidth than the Cr and Cb signals (twice as many Y samples as Cr and Cb samples on the DVD). Still needs wires, but the Sync is added to the Y signal.
Y/C - aka S-Video. The Y is as above, but the Cr and Cb signals are used to modulate a subcarrier (3.579545MHz for NTSC, 4.43361875MHz for PAL), with one of the signals effectively at 90 degrees to the other - the C signal. The bandwidths of the colour difference signals need to be bandwidth limited to about 1/3 of the subcarrier frequency (about 1.7MHz for PAL from memory), compared to the Y bandwidth of 5MHz for broadcast television. In PAL, the phase of one of the signals is inverted every other line (PAL = Phase Alternating Line, aka Peace At Last). Transmission errors which result in green faces and purple trees in NTSC (National Television Standards Commitee, aka Never Twice the Same Colour) tend to desaturate the colours instead.
CVBS, aka Composite Video (also RCA, named after the company that developed the type of connector used, which is typically yellow for video). The Y and C (and sync) signals are combined one one wire. The TV has a harder job of separating them back to RGB  :(
RF (Radio Frequency). The CVBS signal is modulated onto an RF carrier, which could be anywhere between about 45MHz and about 1000MHz (not counting satellite distribution), so that it looks the same as a broadcast TV station to a TV set, and connects via a single cable to the antenna socket of a TV set. So first the TV has to demodulate the signal back to CVBS, before separating the Y and C, then separating the C into Cr and Cb and putting into a matrix with the Y to get RGB back. Nevertheless, this is a useful technique for distributing a signal to a lot of TV sets over a reasonably large area. It is also the only method that works with old TVs without A/V inputs - which is why game consoles used to come with an RF Modulator (aka RF Converter) as standard.
The above methods are also in descending order of signal bandwidth, which restricts the available resolution, or the finest horizontal detail (especially colour detail). Generally, 800x600 is about as good a resolution as you can expect to get on a TV display without resorting to special enhancing techniques.
The above is probably a lot more detail than you need, but is still a fairly superficial explanation. But study it up, the test is next Monday at 9am  :D

  • Difference between customizing request and workbench request?

    Hi ,
What is the difference between customizing request and workbench request?
    please reply.........

    HI,
    <b>Workbench Requests</b>
When you change a Repository object of the ABAP Workbench, a query window appears in which you need to specify a Workbench request. You can only save the changes if you have assigned the object to a change request.
Workbench requests and the tasks assigned to them are normally used to record changes to Repository objects and Customizing for all clients. However, you can also include client-specific Customizing.
Whether the changes to Repository objects are transported depends on whether a transport route is defined from the current SAP System for the package of these objects. From the system settings, the system automatically determines whether the change requests are transportable and to which target system they should be transported.
    <b>Customizing requests</b>
Customizing requests record client-specific Customizing settings made in a single client (the source client of the request).
Automatic recording of configuration activities in the Customizing work for a client can be activated or deactivated for each client with Client Control. If automatic recording is active, a query window appears when you change Customizing settings, asking you to specify a Customizing request.
Whether Customizing requests are transported or not, does not depend on the objects entered, as is the case with Workbench change requests. The Customizing requests in an SAP System (or in a client if you use Extended Transport Control) are either all transportable or all local, depending on the system setting. The system uses the standard transport layer to determine automatically whether the change requests are transportable and to which target system they should be transported. However, you can change this manually.
    pl reward if it helps.
    Thanks

  • Difference between Business area and profit center accounting

    Hi Frnds,
Can any body explain about difference between business area and profit center accounting .

    Hi
Business area will have many profit centers. For example Vehicle is a business area in a company. Vehicle can be cars and Bikes etc. Here Vehicle is business area and Cars and Bike are profit centers. In broad Vehicle is a profit center. But as it has sub areas those are profit centers. So profit centers cannot be replaced with business area and vice versa. We can replace business area by Profit centre, only condition is that it should be in same controlling area. The business area is more like a business unit of a company. You can have multiple profit centers within a business area.
Main distinguish factor is that distribution and assessment in possible in profit center but not in business area.
One more distinction is that Business area need not be attached to any organisation structure. But profit centres can be created only under the controlling area. Business area can be across controlling area.
Business area concept is used for making stragic decisions by the management whereas the primary purpose of profit centre accounting is responsibility accounting.

  • Difference between  business area and profit center

    hi all
could you please tell me about difference between business area and
    profitcenter.
    thanks,
    regards,
    chennuri.

    HI
    Read below
Profit Center - The profit center view shows the various
internal areas of responsibilities. Objects such as cost
centers, materials, etc can be used for profit center
analysis. Profit center can be used to determine the
revenues, costs, and profitability for specfic areas of
    responsibility.
Business Area - Business area forms an important part of
external reporting. Analysis of various segments, product
divisions, regions etc is possible using business areas.
    Business Area: This is optional
This can be used cross compane codes
    This is for Internal Purpose
It is not Legal Entity like Co Code
The transation entered in Business are, Debit total will
    not tally with credit total
Since it is used for segment wise or area wise or line wise
this is used for internal report purpose only .
Balance Shhet and P & L stataments can be drawn on segment
    wise
Profit Centre: Generally in terms of SAP or Finance the
meaning of Profit centre is to know the profitabilty.
In same manner , The managers  wants to know the ROI from
their investments, obviously we nned to use the tool.
This ROI may be geographically or area wise or division
wise. P.C provided us profitablity of the particular area
for internal purpose ( Only for Internal )
Business Area is an optional entry.Whenever company wants
financial statements businessarea wise we can maintain
BAs.And also we can maintain BA as Segment Wise,Product
    Wise,Geographical Location wise.
Profit center is used to know the profits of companies.PC
is also used for to know the profits as aProduct
    wise,Segment wise,geographical location wise.If anything
wrong inthis answer plz correct me..
    Hope this helps
    Good Luck

  • What's the difference between old workbench 2.x configuration and new IFCR configurations?

I'm an Endeca old-fashioned guy. We moved from workbench 2.1 directly to ToolsAndFrameworks 11, my question is, what's difference between old workbench 2.x and new IFCR conf?
Looks emgr_update update_mgr_settings isn't doing the same thing ifcr importXML does.
I manually added a thesaurus entry, and ran emgr_update to load it to workbench, but it didn't show up in our new workbench. And when I ran emgr_update get_all_settings, I can see the thesaurus entry I created in the output. So... What's difference between these 2?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

emgr_update no longer sets or gets the thesaurus from workbench. In 11 all workbench configurations are saved in IFCR configuration directly.
Hence the thesaurus entry should be added directly in version 11 Workbench as opposed to xml file in older versions.
And if you want to migrate the changes across environments then import_site script in control directory can be used.

  • Difference between Golden Client and Master Client

    Dear,
What is the Difference between Golden Client and Master Client?
    Thanx & Regards,
    Mohammad Nabi,
    [email protected]

Golden Client is similar or is the the same as Development Client, which should not be used for testing.
    Master Client ???
    Note on SAP Landscape:
Landscape is like a server system or like a layout of the servers or some may even call it the architecture of the server’s viz. SAP is divided into three different landscape DEV, QAS and PROD.
    -  DEV would have multiple clients for ex: 190- Sandbox, 100- Golden, 180- Unit Test.
    -  QAS may again have multiple clients for ex: 300- Integration Test, 700 to 710 Training.
    -  PROD may have something like a 200 Production.
These names and numbers are the implementer's discreet on how they want it or they have been using in their previous implementations or how is the client's business scenario.
Now whatever you do in the Sandbox doesn't affect the other servers or clients. Whenever you think you are satisfied with your configuration and you think you can use it moving forward, you RE-DO it in the golden client (remember, this is a very neat and clean client and you cannot use it for rough usage). As you re-do everything that you had thought was important and usable, you get a transport request pop up upon saving every time. You save it under a transport request and give your description to it. Thus the configuration is transported to the Unit Test client (180 in this example).
You don't run any transaction or even use the SAP Easy Access screen on the 100 (golden) client. This is a configuration only client. Now upon a successful transport by the Basis guy, you have all the configuration in the Testing client, just as it is in the Golden client. The configuration remains in sync between these two clients.
But in the Testing client you can not even access SPRO  (Display IMG) screen. It's a transaction only client where you perform the unit test. Upon a satisfactory unit test, you move the good configuration to the next SERVER (DEV). The incorrect or unsatisfactory configuration is corrected in Golden (may again as well be practised in the sandbox prior to Golden) and accordingly transported back to 180 (Unit Test) until the unit test affected by that particular config is satisfactory.
The Golden client remains the 'database' (if you wanna call it that) or you may rather call it the 'ultimate' reference client for all the good, complete and final configuration that is being used in the implementation.
    In summary:
Landscape : is the arrangement for the servers
IDES : is purely for education purpose and is NOT INCLUDED in the landscape.
    DEVELOPMENT ---> QUALITY -
    > PRODUCTION
DEVELOPMENT : is where the the consultants do the customization as per the company's requirement.
QUALITY : is where the core team members and other members test the customization.
PRODUCTION : is where the live data of the company is recorded.
A request will flow from Dev->Qual->Prod and not backwards.
    1. Sandbox server: In the initial stages of any implementation project, You are given a sandbox server where you do all the configuration/customization as per the companies business process.
    2. Development Server: - Once the BBP gets signed off, the configuration is done is development server and saved in workbench requests, to be transported to Production server.
    3. Production Server: This is the last/ most refined client where the user will work after project GO LIVE. Any changes/ new development is done is development client and the request is transported to production.
These three are landscape of any Company. They organized their office in these three way. Developer develops the program in Development server and then transport it to test server. In testing server tester check/test the program and then transport it to Production Server. Later it will deploy to client from production server.
Presentaion Server- Where SAP GUI has.
Application Server - Where SAP Installed.
Database Server - Where Database installed.

    Rajesh Banka
