Difference between the new nano vs touch

What's the difference between the 5th gen touch and 7th gen nano?
Do both have capability for the icloud?
Does only the touch one have wireless to update and get internet?

No, The 7G iPod Nano is just an ordinary iPod with a  touch screen, FM radios and Bluetooth for connecting to headphones or speakers
It does not have wifi and ther ae not apps. You can sync music, podcasts, videos and photos

whats the difference between the 4th gen iPod touch and the new one apart from it being white?

Yeah it sadly appears to be only color, I guess Apple and thier infinate wisdom decided iPod touches dont need to be as fast as the new iPhone. If it had a5 it could do Siri:(

  • How can I tell the differences between the new MacBook Pro with retina display and the old MacBook Pro with retina display by looking

I'm just wondering the differences between the new MacBook Pro with retina display which was just released in October 2013 and the old MacBook Pro with retina display.

Thank you for the reply! As you said they looked exactly the same, so I'm not able to tell the differences just by looking, right? I'm thinking to buy a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina display, but I'm not buying the MacBook in Apple Store, I'm buying it in other shops, how can know whether they are not selling me the old model of MacBook Pro with retina display?

How to know if your mac is using the latest Haswell architecture processor or not? and how to know the difference between the new imac and the 2012/13 imac?

Sorry to reopen an old post, but I've just purchased a 2nd hand late-2013 iMac (or so thats what the seller said).
I'm always sceptical though, and just wanted to know if there is a way to check if my iMac is indeed the late-2013 model that included Haswell?
I've attached screenshots of the About This Mac section hoping it may help shed some light.
Thank you in advance for your help!
PS - I can't compare to the iMac specs link you posted above because its now showing the late-2014 models.

What is the difference between the new 13" MacBook Pros and the previous version of the 13" MacBook Pro?  I purchased an "old" one from Best Buy the day before the announcement of the new models.

    See the specs:
Compare Notebooks - Apple Store (U.S.)
Compare with your model. If you are within 14 days of purchase you can exchange for the new model for the difference in price, if any. Be sure to have all the original packaging and your receipt.

Note that iStatPro has not been updated in quite awhile and may not be reading the guts of a totally new system correctly. IIRC, the Late 2011 MBPs were beginning to tax iStatPro already, as they had newer sensors the older code was completely unaware of.
For strictly measuring temps on the guts of these newer Macs, maybe use Marcel Bresink's free Temperature Monitor? Last updated in March 2012. In my Late 2011 15" MBP, it picks up all 18 sensors...

Or go whole hog for his Hardware Monitor, for oodles more info from the Mac. Follow the Products link from above.

  • Difference between the new and old airport express

Have an airport express bought in the summer of 2004. It extends my home network and have never had any trouble with it. (Still using system x3.9 ). Everything is stable. Calm. If I were to buy a new airport express today, do I understand right that it would not work with my current system? What's the difference between the newer airport express and the one I have?

I don't think there's much of a difference between the old Express and the new one. The only difference for sure, will probably be the Airport software, which is at its current version (I forget which). I too, bought my Airport Express when it first came out and I'm running software 6.1.1 on it, I think the newest is at 6.4 now or something like that.
Only reason why it wouldn't work with your system is most like due to the updated software. The tech specs doesn't really say 10.4 or higher is required, but it looks like it's suggested to use the features such as USB printing, etc. http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/specs.html

  • What is the difference between the new version of lion and the one manufactured last year.

I just bought a new iMac. I found out it is the version of lion from mid last year and not the latest version. What is the difference?Should I return it and buy the latest version?

Not really. Lion is Lion, last year, this year, it is still Lion.
Yes, but it's a different version. Very cleverly said Barney
    Pete
No it is not. The newest update just adds some things to it, no new features and only fixes bugs. It is still Lion OS X 10.7.x. It is not 10.6 or 10.8.
It is just a "Point" release and not a New Operating system. All Macbook Pros that could run Lion from last year can run the newest Lion Point release from this year.
Oh and by the way Barney was talking about Mountain Lion, 10.8. Which is a NEW OS X operating system and has nothing to do with Lion 10.7.x. And it is not out yet.
lol. Don't bust a blood vein. The comment was made in jest, but if you want to be serious, then OK 10.7 and 10.7.1 were different than 10.7.2 and 10.7.3. Why? Well one little thing called 'iCloud' for a start.

Sorry, there was absolutely no mention of the upcoming 10.8 that I could see in Barney's comment.
Cheer Up. Life can't be that bad.

  • Difference between the New U430 Touch and the old U430

Bestbuy.com lists a new U430 Touch with 8 GB of RAM but a smaller SSD cache of 8 GB (instead of 16 GB) for $699. The old U430 can be had for $639.
Do you think it's better to buy the old U430 and just upgrade the RAM to 8 GB myself (at a cost of about $80)? Or will the difference in the cache size be negligible in terms of performance (namely boot up time)?
Also, does anyone know if the screen is the same?  The old U430 screen seems slightly washed out to me.  Thank you.

I also read that AMD knew they released the 965 C2 140W cpu with a memory stability problem
I'd like to know what you've been reading, because it certainly wasn't AMD techdocs.
What stability problem? You mean the fact that using 4 sticks of RAM means you have to slow the memory clock down? This has been a common 'issue' way back since the first AMD64 CPUs with built in memory controller.
Yes its true that ALL Phenom II CPUs natively only supported two sticks of RAM at 1333mhz. And its also true that AMD released a new Phenom II 965 CPU, with an improved memory controller, that allowed 4 sticks at 1333mhz. But this doesn't 'fix' any memory stability 'problem'. And its still better to run just two sticks in dual-channel mode. Read the sticky topic in the AMD64 areas.
If you've been reading otherwise, then I'd advise you no longer read that source, as they don't seem to know what they're talking about.

  • What is the difference between the new and old ipad mini case?

I was wondering what the difference is between the old ipad mini case and the new one which came out with the ipad mini with retina display?

I just bought an iPad Mini case for my iPad Mini with Retina Display, and it DOES NOT FIT...  This particular case has a hard plastic cradle for the iPad to fit into and it does not wrap around the edges enough to hold it in...  I am shocked at how snug these cases will fit, even though there is only a 0.01" difference in thickness...  So again, I repeat, an iPad Mini with Retina Display WILL NOT FIT into the first gen iPad Mini case!

  • Does the new nano multi touch play audiobooks

...still no joy, walk it into the nearest Apple Store and ask staff there for assistance...they'll be happy to make sure you enjoy your new nano.

  • What exactly is the difference between the new photos app for mac and iPhoto? i'm very confused...

Ever since i've bought my macbook pro i used iPhoto to organize my photos. Now apple added this new photos app and i don't really understand what is it meant for? can someone please explain me the difference? I'm very confused about the purposes of both apps....

Now apple added this new photos app and i don't really understand what is it meant for? can someone please explain me the difference? I'm very confused about the purposes of both apps....
Photos is a completely new designed photo application, designed for Yosemite and the MacOS X versions to come. Many differences are under the hood. It uses the new system libraries and frameworks for more efficient image processing on the new powerful macs, like the mac pro, it is extensible by app extensions, if other developers will add functionality, and most important, it brings integration with iCloud Photo Library. With Photos you can store your photo library in iCloud and sync it across all devices.
Some features are still missing however, and you can continue to use iPhoto, if you like. Or create a small Photos library for testing and explore Photos, while keeping your main libraries in iPhoto.
