Difference Between the Render Preview Options

Hi,
I am quite new to using Lightroom and I would love someone to explain to me in laymans terms what the difference is between the render preview options when importing images in Lightroom 3.2.  It seems very hard to find any info on it elsewhere.
Any help would to choose between 'Minimal', 'Embedded & Sidecar', 'Standard' and '1:1' to improve my workflow would be much appreciated.
If it makes a difference...  I work with relatively large batches of around 1,000 - 1,500 raw images that I create edits of and convert to jpeg.  I am using a 27" iMac i5 with 8gb of ram.

See the information I provided in the FAQ at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358026?tstart=0

  • What is the difference between the 4 options available while we activate a Legal Regulation

    Hi All
Please help me to understand the difference between the below 4 options available while we activate a Legal Regulation
    1.Check Dispatch (Exclusively)
    2.Check Export (Exclusively)
    3.Check Dispatch/Export (Excluding Domestic)
    4.Check Dispatch/Export (Including Domestic)
    Thanks
    Akhil..

    Hi Akhil,
Actually, there are three different business scenario's when we talk in terms of trade. These are as follows:-
1.Domestic Trade:- This is internal to a country and needs to adhere to only country's internal rules/regulations.
2.Dispatch:- It is cross border trade but withing an Economic Zone of the concerned country. Economic zone is an area or group of countries to promote trade between themselves for example EU. Dispatch is further subjected to cross border trade rules/regulations but also enjoys benefits of certain agreements.
3.Export:- When we talk in terms of cross border trade with a third country with whom we didn't have any trade relation/ agreements, that is known as an Export. Export is further subjected to more scutinisning by authorities when it is processed as compared to other's.
Hence, to conclude Domestic trade is internal trade(within the country) while Dispatch/Export is the cross border trade subjected to more rules and regulation and keeping these in mind ,business can take a desicion to use a legal regulation for any of your above mentioned 4 options.
    Hope I answered your question.
    Regards,
    Aman

  • What is the difference between the recorded voice ...

In Here Maps there are two option to download a voice to direct you.
What is the difference between the 'recorded voice' option and the 'announced street names' option?
The latter is much smaller in file size.
    s
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It gives the benefit of announcing the name of the street?
Instead of 'after 200 meters turn right' it becomes 'after 200 meters turn right onto <street name>'
It is a benefit on roads with multiple lanes and in town with many small roads crossing.

  • Compare the differences between the "Insert" option for fluid grid layouts in DW CC6 2014 and DW6 CC

Their are differences in the "Insert" menu for DW CC6 2014 and DW CC6.  Where can I find training to explain the differences between the "Insert" menu particularly regarding insertion of fluid grid layouts?

I would concentrate on learning the version of Dreamweaver that you want to use and not on learning the differences.
Incidentally, the versions are CS6 and CC.
As a personal note, I would suggest trying Bootstrap instead of the Fluid Grid Layouts.

  • Java-options, What is the difference between the parameters xms and ms

    Hi,
I have a problem with deploy bpel process , I get an error "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen Space" several sources of information tells me that I have to change some parameters in the file "<ORACLE_HOME> / opmn / conf / opmn.xml" but I doubt some of the parameters, what is the difference between Xms and ms?
And what is the value of the parameter MaxPermSize, which I must also change.
    Thanks
    Gustavo

Did you ever find out what the difference between the two parameters were!? I have the same questions. Default for opmn.xml = "-server -XX:MaxPermSize=128M -ms512M -mx1024M ...." In attempting to maximize performance and accessible memory, Oracle docs identify adding/modifying "-server -Xmn1228m -XX:+AggressiveHeap -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=128M -ms2048M -mx2048M...." But I question if Xms and ms are really the same parameter or not?
    Thanks in advance...

  • My student has been using Lightroom 4 with Photoshop CS5 on her Mac for well over a year. Because of the difference between the Camera raw version available to her in Photoshop CS5 and the raw process in Lightroom 4, she has been exporting her raw images

    Any ideas?

My student has been using Lightroom 4 with Photoshop CS5 on her Mac for well over a year. Because of the difference between the Camera raw version available to her in Photoshop CS5 and the raw process in Lightroom 4, she has been exporting her raw images from Lightroom and choosing the "Render using Lightroom option when it popped up in the dialogue box. She has been doing this for over a year and a half without any problem. Today when she hit Command E no dialogue box appeared and the image just opened in Photoshop. I'm concerned that all of her Lightroom edits are not being rendered to Photoshop. Anyone have an idea as to how we can get the "Render using Lightroom" dialogue back?

  • What are differences between the target tablespace and the source tablespac

The IMPDP command create so manay errors. But the EXAMPLE tablespace is transported to the target database successfully. It seems that the transported tablespace is no difference with the source tablespace.
    Why create so many errors?
    How to avoid these errors?
What are differences between the target tablespace and the source tablespace?

Short of trying to then reverse-engineer the objects that are in the dump file (I believe Data Pump export files contain some XML representations of DDL in addition to various binary bits, making it potentially possible to try to scan the dump file for the object definitions), I would tend to assume that the export didn't include those type definitions.
Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

  • PM Order settlements - Difference between the amounts settled

    Hi All,
This is regarding the PM Order settlements.
Every month end finance team run KO8G and settle the PM Order costs for that period (month). In the process the Orders are settled using a variant, which captures all the orders that has changed/created during the focused period.
But in the report S_ALR_87013015 - List: Actual Debit/Credit there are balances for previous settlements and thereu2019s a difference between the amount settled and the debit/credit amounts.
When drilling gown we found that this is due to following reasons,
    1.     Some orders are not settled fully.
    2.     Equipments issued against a Order are returned after the settlement process
Ex: one Order has settled in Oct 2008 initially and fully in Jan 2009. However one material has been returned to stores in February 2009. Therefore a difference (cost of the material) between total actual cost (Dr Amount) and settled amount has been arisen.
The Orders of nature 1 will be captured and settled in the subsequent run of KO8G.
But my question is how can we address the orders of nature 2? Changing the settlement variant is one option.
Also appreciate if someone can explain the SAP-best practice of PM-Order settlements.
    Thanks,
    Thushantha.

    Hi Thushantha,
After returning the material to store check the actual cost of maintenance order. Once you fully settle the order means it becomes zero.
When you will return material to warehouse against maintenance order once again carry out settlement of maintenanc order then check for your nature 2.

  • What are the major differences between the air and the pro

what are the major differences between the air and the pro?

In a nutshell, the Air is a lightened, more compact system than the 13" Pro counterpart. The Air loses some hardware features to accommodate the physical downsizing.
    No FireWire port
    No built-in optical drive
A lesser performing CPU to retain battery charge life, and adequate cooling.
    No Ethernet port
    No Kensington lock slot
The Air does have a superior native resolution at 1440 x 900, and a standard SSD that does make up alot of the speed differential, and then some. Of course, the 13" Pro can be optionally configured with an SSD.
You buy the Air if the physical size an weight savings are demonstrably more important than the features lost.

  • Differences Between The Asus P67 EVO And Pro?

Anyone know of the differences between the Asus P67 EVO and the Pro?
I want to buy an Asus P67 Pro Motherboard today, but there are only 2 left at Fry's and they are both open-box returns and the other Fry's has only 6 left and ALL are open-box returns.  So I'm thinking there may be an issue with the Pro's?
Is the EVO just as good?
On the Asus site specs, it seems the only differences are:
(and I'm not sure what any of the following means)
-On the Pro, the PCIe x16-3 slot shares bandwidth with the ESATA12
-On the EVO, the PCIe x16-3 slot shares bandwidth with the ESATA3G and the PESATA3G
    -The EVO has dual LAN's
-The EVO has a CMOS Switch
-The Pro has the "System Panel" Q-Connector
Adobe seems to be heading towards allowing 2 video cards.
Would the EVO limit me if this happens?
I notice there's only one EVO on the PPBM5 site in the upper realms (Novak).
There seems to be more Pro's.
I don't plan on doing huge overclocking, maybe minor.
    Components to be used:
    -i7 2600K
    -Corsair Vengeance 16GB
    -Corsair AX 850 Watt Gold
    -EVGA GTX 460 1GB Superclocked
    -OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120GB
    -Seagate Barracuda 3GB Storage
-Seagate Barracuda 1GB for Exports, Page File, Previews, Media Cache
-Seagate Barracuda 3GB Storage in  Acomdata Samba External Enclosure for Backup

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Guys.

Don't get the 13".  It only has an integrated video card.  Both the 15" and 17" models have an integrated as well as a dedicated video card.

  • CE 7.1 Trial - Differences between the versions

    Hi there,
I would like to check out the new BPM Feature within the NetWeaver    CE, but I'm a little confused about all the different versions available. There is a CE 7.1 Trial SP 3, CE 7.1 Trial SP 5 and a CE 7.1 Trial EHP 1...
Whats the current Version and what are the differences between the Version?
Does anyone know if ther will be a 64 Bit Version available soon?
    EDIT:
Another question just occurred to me.... The installation guide says the system requirement is Windows XP SP2 (or higher). Does anyone have experience using the Trial with Windows 2008 (32bit)?
    thx in advance

    Yes of course :
    CE 7.1.1 samples in SDN
SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment Samples Center
There is also some samples in the ES Workplace.

There is a server version of CE, this version should work on WS 2008 64 bits.

  • What's the difference between the ATA hard drive and SSD in MBP?

I'm looking to buy a new MacBook Pro and am unsure of the real differences between the ATA hard drives available and the SSDs.  How would each affect my new computer? I realize many people suggest not buying these extra things through Apple for economical reasons, but lets just say I did, which would be the better option?

You don't have to give up anything for memory, that is handled by the ram...the amount of storage available in SSD is less than with a Hard Drive in large part because of the cost.  You gain speed but have to be content for now with less storage space.
Of course, you could buy an external hard drive to use for bulk storage and backups, always strongly recommended.  Some good drives are available from the Mac specialists at OWC, http://www.macsales.com
Those will not be as fast as the SSD but are great for letting Time Machine backup your internal storage and for use as a place to store bulk things like music or photos or videos, etc.

Fusion Drive combines 128GB of super fast flash storage with a traditional hard drive. It automatically and dynamically moves frequently used files to flash for quicker access. With Fusion Drive in your iMac, booting is up to 1.7 times faster, and copying files and importing photos are up to 3.5 times faster.* Over time, as the system learns how you work, Fusion Drive makes your Mac experience even better. All while letting you store your digital life on a traditional, roomy hard drive.
    About Flash Storage
For maximum performance, you can configure your iMac with 768GB of flash storage instead of a traditional hard drive. Flash storage delivers up to four times the performance of a traditional drive — speed you’ll notice when you start up your iMac, launch an app, or browse your photo library.
In addition the prue flash option is $900 more the then 3TB fusion drive.

As i can see on the Installation & Configuration Guide on page 10 i can Select the Installation Type as Desktop / or Server.
As i suppose the Desktop is the Installation for my Desktop Environment. (e.g. for my Workstation. An local Installation)

    Hello,
you need the SAP ITK for both.
Your Server (SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise) needs to connect to the SAP Backend like BW and your Clients where you develop content (Universe Designer, Crystal Reports, etc.) needs to connect to the SAP Backend like BW.
Thats why you have these two options.
    Regards
    -Seb.
