Difference between the updates

sir,
What is the difference between 4.6,4.7 and 6.0.
Kindly explain me
thak u

Hi,
What exactly are you looking for? There are lots of differences between the three releases, technically, functionally and at the level of each module!
ECC 6.0 is based on Netweaver and is also ESoA enabled. Also one major difference for functional consultants is that all IS (Industry Solution) variants have been integrated into one system.
ERP 4.7 is called Enterprise Edition and is not fully ESoA enabled.
ERP 4.6x is the older version, and is now out of service.
If you want to know more differences, search for the link 'Release Notes' in http:

  • Difference between those "Update DVD & Install DVD"

I have 2 Leopard DVD, 1 came with a new Macbook with Tiger install and the "Mac OS X Update DVD" and 1 bought at the store "Mac OS X Install DVD"
I've just reinstalled my MBP with the "Update DVD" (by mistake) and I select a full installation with a format.
Everything seem to run perfectly !
What is the difference between the "Update DVD" and the "Install DVD" ?
    I think both are identical...
    Thx

The OS installed is identical. The update DVD may not install on all systems, given it's not intended to be sold at retail. But once you have the OS installed, it's the same OS.

  • What is the difference between the 10.6.8 update vs. the combo update?

What is the darn difference between the 10.6.8 update vs. the combo update? I read both of them I don't see a difference except that 1 is much larger than
the other, I never understand the reason for this confusing action. Found on the support downloads page, can someone please explain this annoying
reason I was forced to come here to ask this question???

    Antone,
The 10.6.8 update is a "delta" update that only applies the changes since 10.6.7 so it's much smaller.
The Combo update is all the cumulative updates since 10.6.0 rolled into one so it's much larger.
The Combo update will apply to any release of 10.6.

  • What are the differences between the Caching and the Software Update Services

New to working with OS X Server and am confused about the differences between the Caching Service and the Software Update Service...it seems to me that they overlap in that i) the Caching Service updates OS X software, iOS software and any apps purchased from the app store while ii) the Software Update service updates OS X software.
If the above is correct they why would one run both Services?  I would think that one would run the Caching Service and call it a day!
And while on the subject, what about caching and pushing third party apps like MS Office?

    Linc Davis wrote:
The simple answer is that you almost certainly don't need the Software Update service. Just use the Caching service. Neither one works with content that doesn't come from Apple.
Appreciate the response but could you please explain the difference between the two as that is the one item that remains unanswered.

  • Whats the difference between the combo update vs. standard update?

I'm curious to know which update to use. So what is the difference between the two?
    Thank you

The standard (called a 'delta' update) can be applied to one version back, e.g. the 10.5.7 delta update works only if you are running 10.5.6. The combo update will update from any previous version of the main OS release, e.g. the 10.5.7 combo update works if you are running 10.5.0 through 10.5.6 (but not, for example, 10.4.11).
The combo update can also be reapplied as a troubleshooting step (i.e. if you are having problems with 10.5.7, you can download and run the 10.5.7 combo updater).
If you use Software Update, it will apply the appropriate update (the delta if you are running the immediately previous version, the combo if you are >1 version back).

  • What is the difference between the two update statements

    Hi Everyone
Along with the emp table in scott kindly insert the to ins statement into emp.
    Insert into EMP
(EMPNO, ENAME, JOB, MGR, HIREDATE, SAL, COMM, DEPTNO)
    Values
    (8000, 'JAMES', 'CLERK', 7698, sysdate,
    1000, 10, 30);
    Insert into EMP
(EMPNO, ENAME, JOB, MGR, HIREDATE, SAL, COMM, DEPTNO)
    Values
    (8001, 'JAMES', 'CLERK', 7698, sysdate,
    1000, 10, 30);
Consider the below two update statements.
    1) update emp a
    set ename=(select loc
    from dept b
    where a.deptno=b.deptno)
    where exists(select loc
    from dept b
    where a.deptno=b.deptno)
    2) update emp a
    set ename=(select loc
    from dept b
    where a.deptno=b.deptno)
What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd update statement? what is the use of exists clause in the first update statement ? Can u suggest in what case will the two update statements provide different results.
    Thanks in advance

Second one updates all records in emp. If there is no record in dept then ename will be updated to null.
The first one only updates records in emp where a record in dept exists. It does not matter whether loc is non-null in dept or not. In an EXISTS query it doesn't matter if you do SELECT *, SELECT LOC, SELECT 1, SELECT NULL - Oracle just checks for existence.
So most often an update like the first one is meant to improve performance by only updating those emp records that are needed. Usually that is a good idea.
For this very specific case where all employees do belong to a department, all records in emp will be updated anyway, so for this specific case it actually makes worse performance because it does work to make an unnecessary check.
Normally the EXISTS query is good for performance, but always figure out if they are needed first ;-)

  • What's the difference between firmware update 1.5 and 1.5.1?

i got the 1.5 update, but the newest one (1.5.1) does not show up in the SU which i am not concerned with... but what is the difference between the two versions of the update?

You're welcome. I have two other posts on the subject that should help.
They simply fixed the updater in 1.5.1 to include an update path for the ROM shipped with the models described above, of which my computer is one. Mine got the later update, so you and I essentially have the same ROM. I got fewer fixes since my ROM was slightly newer than yours to begin with.

  • Difference between the synchrous update and asynchrous update

    Hi all,
Can anybody explain the me the difference between the synchrous update and asynchrous update with some example.
    Thanks in advance
    Ramya

    Hi,
Message: A Asynchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction does not wait for any updates it produces to be completed. It simply passes the updates to the SAP update service. Asynchronous processing therefore usually results in faster execution of your data transfer program.
Asynchronous processing is NOT recommended for processing any larger amount of data. This is because the called transaction receives no completion message from the update module in asynchronous updating. The calling data transfer program, in turn, cannot determine whether a called transaction ended with a successful update of the database or not.
If you use asynchronous updating, then you will need to use the update management facility (Transaction SM12) to check whether updates have been terminated abnormally during session processing. Error analysis and recovery is less convenient than with synchronous updating.
S Synchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction waits for any updates that it produces to be completed. Execution is slower than with asynchronous updating because called transactions wait for updating to be completed. However, the called transaction is able to return any update error message that occurs to your program. It is much easier for you to analyze and recover from errors.
L Local updating. If you update data locally, the update of the database will not be processed in a separate process, but in the process of the calling program. (See the ABAP keyword documentation on SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL for more information.)

  • Execution time difference between SELECT & UPDATE statement in JDBC Sender.

    Hi Experts,
In my scenario, I have used the JDBC Sender Adapter with the SELECT and UPDATE statement.
Now the problem is in between the execution of Select and update statement, few more entries are coming in the same DB Table.
So result of this is updation take place for those entries which are not even picked up by the select statement.
Can we avoid this execution time difference between the SELECT & UPDATE statemet on JDBC Sender side???
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi
Use serializable option in additional parameters, now all new entries would also be updated.

CREATE_TEXT is used to create a new Text. It uses the SAVE_TEXT inside it.
SAVE_TEXT is used to update the existing text.

  • DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FULL AND BULK-LOGGED RECOVERY MODEL

DIFFERENCE  BETWEEN THE  FULL AND BULK-LOGGED  RECOVERY MODEL

In bulk logged recovery mode certain bulk operations are minimally logged. In FULL recovery mode these are fully logged. These bulk operations are as mentioned below
    1. SELECT INTO
    2. BULK IMport operations including BULK INSERT and BCP
    3. INSERT INTO SELECT command using the OPENROWSET(BULK) function
    4. Partial updates to columns having large value data type
    5. Using WRITE clause in UPDATE statements
    6. Index operations e.g CREATE INDEX, ALTER INDEX REBUILD , DROP INDEX
In Bulk Logged Recovery Mode when you execute these operations SQL Server only logs the fact that these operation occured and information about space allocation. The actual change in the data is maintained in the BCM (Bulk
    Changed Map)
Since the actual changes are not recorded in the log file, the log file size in the reletively less in size but this tradeoff comes with the price of increased backup time. This is so because during the log backup its not just the log being backup, but also
the extents that are marked by the Bulk Changed Map as changed.

  • Is there a difference between the Intel Core 2 Duo & the Intel Core Duo?

I am looking to buy a new laptop, and I wanted to know if there is a big or major difference between the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, compared to the Intel Core Duo.
I currently have a powerbook G4 and it has a 1.67 GHz PowerPC G2 Processor, which I have noticed isn't that great, I can't download the new snow leopard software update, nor watch movies from Netflex and other stuff like that. Its pretty annoying, so that is why I was asking about the difference between the other two processors, I want to know if it doesn't matter or which one is the best before I buy.
I'm pretty computer dumb when it comes to this stuff that's why I'm asking.
    Thanks in Advance.
    - Heather Tel

Core 2 Duo processors are newer and more powerful (and thus faster) than Core Duos. Apple's current notebook computers all use Core 2 Duos, so if you buy new, that's what you'll get. The earliest MacBooks and MacBook Pros had Core Duos in them, but the last of those models was discontinued late in 2006.

  • 10.4.6 updaters for IiMac. What's the difference between the choices?

It seems there are 3 choices for this update:
    1) Going through the "software update" pulldown menu on my desktop which is about 100mb
    2) On the "apple downloads" page there is one that is 163mb that seems appropriate and
    3) a "combo" version that is 191mb that also seems appropriate
I simply used the one from the pulldown menu on my desktop, but what is the difference between the 3 and are there advantages/disadvantages to any specific method or version so for the next time there is an update i pick the more "appropriate" version?
    Thanks

just choose "software update" from your "system preferences" to do the job. It checks your system and chooses teh updates that might be needed. It's probably because you own an "intel mac' the update in software update is only 100 mb. You don't need the combo therefore (combo for 'intel macs' and 'old macs').

  • There's any difference between the 2 ways

i need to update specific infotype record.
    there's 2 ways:
    1) update the specific record the disadventage is that
the update doesn't pass sap date check from the screen.
in addition, i can't use batch input because while i
lock the employee i need to update other record.
    2) from dynamic event in modify record.
in this way it's pass sap date check ? ?
for finally, is there any difference between the 2 ways ?

    Hi,
If you use the BAPIs 'BAPI_EMPLOYEE_ENQUEUE' & 'BAPI_EMPLOYEE_DEQUEUE'
before and after each function call to 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION', you should be able to update mutiples infotype records for the same employee in a single Program.
2). Are you referring to Dynamic Actions?

  • What is the difference between the T.codes MC.B and MC44 ?

    Hi Guys
What is the difference between the T.codes MC.B and MC44 ?
    and
What is the meaning of "Key figure" ?
    cheers
    MaruthiRam

    Dear,
MC.B - Mat.Anal.Selection; Turnover - Executing material tunrover basing the different selection parameters available.
MC44 - Analysis of Inventory Turnover - The key figure "inventory turnover" specifies how often average stock has been consumed. Inventory turnover is calculated as the ratio of cumulative usage to average stock level.
An inventory turnover analysis allows you to identify whether there are any "slow-moving items". It provides a basis for evaluating, for example, how effectively fixed capital has been used.
Key figure: The key figures that you can evaluate in the standard analyses for stock placement/removal and material placement/removal, provide information from the point of view of a storage area, and distinguish between internal and external warehouse movements. Both of these standard analyses are based on data that is updated to the information structure S090 when the events goods movement (external quantities), or stock removals/placements and transfer orders occur. The only difference between these analyses is the predefined standard drilldown path.

    Syed Hussain.
