Difference between transaction currency and document currency.

Hi All,
Would like to know the difference between transaction currency and document currency. If we want to draw both the figures from the GL account, which table can i use?
Thanks,
Mercy

Hey,
Having transaction currency and document curreny in one document would be strange.
Document currency is something you would see in a FI document, whereas transaction currency is part of a CO document.
In finance documents you would talk about document currenty and local currency for instance.
In CO documents, the currency field you can find are transaction currency, object currency en controlling area currency.
In most cases the document currency in FI would be considered the transaction currency in CO.  The local currency in FI would be the object currency in CO.
Hope this helps,
Koen

  • Receivables: Diferrence between "transaction number" and "document number"

    Hi!
What is the difference between "transaction number" and "document number" as shown in the transactions window?
    Where are they used?
    thanks!

Transaction number is the Invoice number. It can be a manually entered number in case of manual invoices. Even in case of imported invoices, it can be a manually assigned number if the trx_number field is populated in the ra_interface_lines_all table. If you Invoice batch source setup indicates automatic transaction numbering, the transaction (invoice) number will be automatically generated sequentially. The starting number is mentioned in the Trx batch source.
The document number is a number which is generated by Document sequencing. To have the document number generated, you have to do few Doc sequencing setups like setting the 'Sequencial Numbering' profile options, creating document sequences and assigning the sequence to the Categories. The trx types are created as categories.
The Transaction number can be the same as the document number if you enable the option 'Copy Document number to Transaction number' in the Invoice batch source.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,

  • Difference between transaction CMOD and SMOD in detail

What is the difference difference between transaction CMOD and SMOD in detail
    in R3 system.

    Hi Vinod,
Transaction CMOD n SMOD are 2 parts of the enhancement.  Using SMOD you can search for enhancement and there component. Components includes Function Exit, Function Codes, Program,Calling Screen...so basically all exits.
Using SMOD, if you know the enhancement you can check the available User Exits. For eg. you can find out user exits and corresponding zincludes.
If you know the Exit Name for Eg. Function module exit name you can search the correponding Enhacement name here..which is important for activating exits.
CMOD allows you to create Project for your enhacement. In order to activate every exit code you need to create a project for same and activate it...Eventhough if you write a code and do not create a project for same your exit code will not reflect.
It is mandatory to create and project for exit and activate it.
Hope this will give you good idea about CMOD and SMOD.

  • Difference between Transaction database and relational database

Whats the Difference between Transaction database and relational database ??

'Transaction' refers to the usage of a database.  'Relational' refers to the way in which a given database stores data.
A 'transaction database' (or operational database) could be relational, hierarchical, et al.  A transaction database supports business process flows and is typically an online, real-time system.  The way in which that data is stored is typically
based on the application(s).  Companies often have multiple 'transaction databases'.
An 'operational data store' (ODS) is an integrated view or compilation of transaction data.
The you get into data warehouse databases, where the transaction data is optimized for querying, reporting, and analysis activities.

  • Difference between transactions RZ10 and RZ11

Can you please tell me the difference between transactions RZ10 and RZ11

    Hello Eechaneri,
RZ10 is for profile as well as profile parameter  maintainance while RZ11 is for profile parameter display/change.
In RZ11 however you can change only those profile parameters which are dynamic i.e dont need a restart for change. For the ones where restart is needed the value needs to be added/changed in RZ10.

  • Difference between Data-centric and Document-centric use

    Hi,
Can someone suggest what exactly is the difference between Data-centric and Document-centric use and examples if any.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chaitanya

Maybe it helps if you look at it this way...
Document centric: document centric use of xml data is data that you always use in its complete form. If you want to use the data, then you always will retrieve it as one entity or you save it as one entity. You are not interested in the xml data / information inside this "package" / document, you are only interested in its total form. Lets say, you have an invoice which can be printed on one sheet of paper. This paper that contains you data, will always be treated in a document driven way, that is, in its total representation: information containted on a sheet of paper (document).
Data centric. data centric use of xml, is usage of data were the main interest point is focused on only pieces of the total set of xml data within a document. So instead of being interested in the whole invoice, you only are interested in information like "amount of money to be payed" or "invoicenumber".
Handling of XML data comes with (hidden) costs. Knowing how your data will be used, has to be used, is one of the first steps in designing you environment (and will have an big impact if you choose poorly). For instance, if you know that your data will always be handled (and must be stored) in a document driven way, then it will make sense to store it based on CLOB based XMLType storage. This will garantee best performance retrieval for your xml document. If you now that your xml data has to be stored so that it can be handled in a data centric way, then Object Relational XMLType storage. If conditions are setup properly data retrieval, inserts and updates will be more cost efficient then when based on CLOB XMLType storage.
There are more differences and "cost markers" when or when not to use CLOB, OR or for instance Binary XML. The first two chapters of the XMLDB Developers Guide for Oracle 11g will give you a good head start making some of those decisions. Be also aware that you probably will have to make compromises. The current state of XML, for example, doesn't have the final solution yet for a uniform storage method.

  • Difference between Transaction Figures and Line Items

    Hi,
I gone through FI like FI-GL,FI-AR,FI-AP..there i find...
Line Items & Transaction figures as main...like
    in FI we have
    Line Items - 0FI_GL_4,0FI_AR_4,0FI_AP_4 etc...
    Transaction Figures - 0FI_GL_6,0FI_AR_6,0FI_AP_6 etc...
    Now Can some please explain...
    what exactly Line Items are?
    What exactly Transaction Figures are?
How data flows from end to end in FI? i.e where exactly GL,AR,AP comes into picture..how they are internally related?
Some one please explain me in detail (with expamles if possible) and quick reply is much appreciated...
    Regards
    Ramsunder

    Hi
    What exactly  line items :
Line items are document items that were posted to a specific account. In contrast to a document item a line item only contains the information from the document that is relevant from the account view.
You can display the following line items:
Open items, Cleared items, Noted items, Parked items ,Items with special G/L transactions (in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable),Items with customer or vendor items (in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable)
You can display the line items for the following account types:  Customer accounts,Vendor accounts,G/L accounts.
    What exactly Transaction Figures are?
Transaction figures are the sums of line items on the debit or credit side. The balance is the difference between the debit and the credit transaction figure.
    If you take General ledger
AP records all accounting transactions for dealings with suppliers(Vendors). Much of its data is obtained from procurement (Materials Management).
AR records all accounting transactions for dealings with customers. Much of its data is obtained from Sales and Distribution.
Asset Accounting records all accounting transactions relating to the management of assets.
Travel Management manages and calculates travel costs and supports travel planning and travel expenses.
Bank ledger supports the posting of cash flows.

  • How to differ tax currency and document currency in contract

    Hi Guru's,
I would like to know how to differ tax currency with document currency in SAP contract.
    Thanks and Regards
    Vikram.M

    Hello Vikram,
The document currency will be that of local currency.   the tax currency should be of the customers country currency.
Perhaps you have to define different condition tables by passing on the fields to header or Item Level and depending on the customer Master currency detrmine Tax in different currecny. KNVV-WAERS.
This needs a bit of ABAP effort, and minor enhancement to take consideration of exhange rates.

  • TDS Amount in Local currency and document currency

    Dear All,
When we deduct TDS amount on Vendor Transactions in foreign currency, the TDS amount is dispalyed only in document curreny(Foreign currency) in T.Code "FBL1N".
Now We want to see the TDS amount in local currency in T.Code "FBL1N". layout when we post TDS transactions in foreign currency(USD). B,caz there is no such fields "Withholding tax amount in local currency" in the change layout.
So, Plz advise me whether it is possible or not ? If Yes, explain me.
If you have any query, plz do let me know.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Kumar.D

    Hi Prasad,
In Logistics Invoice Verification, when you enter an invoice in foreign
currency, the system automatically translates the foreign currency
amounts to local currency. The system calculates the exchange rate using
    the following rule:
1.If the buyer entered a fixed exchange rate in the purchase order, the
system uses this rate to translate the amounts to local currency.
2.If an exchange rate was entered in Invoice Verification, the system
uses this rate to translate the amounts to local currency.
3.If an exchange rate was entered neither in the purchase order nor in
Invoice Verification, the system uses the exchange rate pre-defined in
Customizing for Financial Accounting valid for the posting date.
    Exchange Rate Differences
If a purchase order is entered in foreign currency, the amounts are
translated from foreign currency into local currency at goods receipt.
If you enter the invoice for the purchase order in the foreign currency,
this can lead to currency translation differences between the goods
    receipt and the invoice receipt.
How these differences are posted depends on how your system is
configured in Customizing for Invoice Verification
    Exchange Rate Rounding Differences
When an invoice is posted in a foreign currency, the amounts are translated into local currency.Since the system rounds off the amounts in each posting line, this can lead to rounding differences due to the currency translation.
These differences are posted to an expense or income account.
Addition in transaction OB22 for the second local currency, it should be defined 'Translation taking transaction currency as a basis' is defined.
Pls. also  refer to note:335608  Trnsln of 2nd and 3rd lcl crcy fm 1st lcl/trns crcy.

I wanted to know the difference between what typical implementations of Transaction.rollback() and Transaction.setRollbackOnly().
I have used setRollbackOnly()? in distributed transaction scenarios. How is it different from rollback()?

I would really recommend posting this question in a forum where somebody might understand what you are talking about. This is the XML forum.

  • What  is  the  difference  between   Transactions   IQ01  and  MIGO ?????

What  is  the   difference  between  the  Transaction  Codes  IQ01  and  MIGO  ???????
Moderator note - thread locked, no research and etiquette
Edited by: William Eastman on Jan 4, 2011 6:57 AM

    Dear Lu,
In my understanding MB11 and MIGO can be used for a transfer posting or goods issue or goods reciept against any order or
for reversal of good's movements.Means it can be used for 101,102,261,262,311,312 etc.
But in MB1B,only transfer postings can be performed like transfer posting from one plant to another or one storage location to
another like 301,311,or 302,312,or to convert from one material to another using 309 movement,or to transfer the quality stock
to unrestricted stock using 321 movement can be performed.

  • What is the difference between transaction BP and FPP1  ?

    Hello ,
about the management of business partner, is existing the transaction BP, and the transaction FPP1 (or FPP2 or FPP3).
Do you know what is the difference ?
    Tks and regards.
    bye.

    Hi Roberto,
in fact, there is not much difference. BP starts with the cockpit-like view with tree search for business partners on the left side of the screen. Maintenance is on the right side of screen for selected business partner.
Also FPPx transactions start display in special partner role (MKK), in BP you have most general view but can switch to other partner roles. This may switch on and off special tabs.
Both transactions make use of the same code.
