Difference between transfer?

hi,
what is the difference between subinventory and backflush transfer? with some examples will be good.
regards
sudharshan

Sub Inventory transfer is the transfer of material between the 2 sub inventories in the same organization.
Where as Backflush transfer releated to Work in Process i.e. when there is a move transaction in WIP from one stage to other ( Eg: from TO QUEUE to TO MOVE) the ONHAND related to the material will get consumed depends on how the supply type ( Operation pull, PUSH..) is set up in the routings.
Thanks,
Raghav

    Hi Gurus,
Structurally what is the difference between transfer structure and extraction structure?
I have observed that both these structures have the same fields.
Then why do we need two structures in source system?
    Please clarify ...

  • Is difference between update routine, start routine and transfer routine

    Hi All,
What is difference between transfer routine and update routine.

    Hi Venkat,
Routine is a set of ABAP code which is used to select a record or transform the field value at the time of loading the data.
    Types of routines:
    Tranfer Routines in Transfer Rules:
    Start Routines in Transfer Rules:
    Update Routines in Update Rules:
    Start Routines in Update Rules:
    Transfer/Update routine:
It's the set of ABAP code used in Transfer/Update rules. Transfer/Update routine is used to change the value of a particular field/object at the time of loading data.
Ex: Populate the amount/discount field by using Price and Quantity based on the given conditions.
    Start Routine:
Start routine can be used in both Transfer Rules and Update Rules. Start routine is used to determine whether to load a particular record or not.
Ex: From the data related to the year 2005, we can select only the records which belong to a particular month or fiscal period.
Ultimately Transfer/Update routines are to update the value of a particular field. Start routines are used to select entire record.

  • What's The Difference Between Syncing, Transfer and Impo

I see these options within MediaSource 5. What's the difference between them?
Also: how is the My Music folder (where I keep my mp3's on my computer's hard dri've) different from the PC Music Library?

Import and Transfer mean the same thing. They just add the tracks that you have selected to your MP3 player. Sync is more intelligient in that it automatically decides for you whether to transfer or import tracks to your MP3 player. So, if the tracks already exist in the MP3 player, it won't be transferred or imported.

    Shortly:
Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard. An append structure is a structure that is assigned to exactly one table or structure. There can be more than one append structure for a table or structure.

Includes are used to group fields, an include structure can be assigned to many tables. If you add a fields to an include structure, all tables/structures, which contain that include structure, will be updated too.

  • What is the difference between Inter-org Transfer & ISO

Can anybody please share the difference between Inter-org Transfer & ISO?
e.g. Legal bounding, accounting entries, traceability, charging to demanding entity/organization...
Also please help me to understand when shall we use which option, and where we can not use which option...
e.g. Inter-org transfer can't be used when material in required in some different LE (Legal entity).

Internal Sales Order (ISO) is the same as the PO and SO creation process which occurs within the Company. It is a process used to request and transfer material from one inventory to another with the Same or Different Operating Unit. This is usually initiated in Oracle Purchasing which creates a Requisition and upon running the Create Internal Sales Order Concurrent program, the order is loaded into the Order Import Tables. The Order Import program is run in the Order Management of the Operating Unit in which the Orders needs to be Created. The Order is then booked and shipped and received in the destination organization. The invoicing activity depends on the company rules.
Inter Org Transfers are the material transfers within two Organizations that are under the same Operating Unit. There is no creation of the sales orders or anything but a regular material transfer from one org to another. The item needs to be defined in both the Organizations. This is usually done to maintain the inventory balances and there is no actual shipping process that is defined for this.

  • Difference between Stock transfer and transfer posting

I am little confused about the difference between stock transfer and transfer posting. Please clarify
<<Locked - reason: failed to search before posting question>>
Edited by: Csaba Szommer on Feb 9, 2011 9:10 AM

    Hello,
Transfer posting may involve or not involve the physical goods transfer.  In the system you might do transfer posting from quality to unrestricted, or from one store location to another.
In transfer posting you remove and or replace materials from storage in one storage location and place them in another storage location.
That transction code you use for transfer posting MB1B with following movement types may be used
    301, 303,305,311,411,309.
301 is Stock Transfer Between Plants in One Step
303 & 305 : Stock Transfer Between Plants in Two Steps
In stock transfer, it always involves physical movement of goods, like transfer between plants under same company code or different company codes.
Following types are possible with STO's
    Stock Transport Order Without Delivery
Stock Transport Order with Delivery via Shipping
Stock Transport Order with Delivery and Billing Document/Invoice

  • Difference between Stock Transfer Horizon and Planning Time Fence

    Hi Experts,
Could you plz help to explain the difference between stock transfer horizon and planinng time fence?
Appreciated your professional input to address my confusion.

    Hi Gavin,
The stock transfer horizon is used in SNP planning, it is the time period within which SNP does not create any stock transfer requisitions.
The planning time fence is used by PPDS planning. It is the time period within which the PPDS planning does not create any orders. The orders lying within this period are considered to be firmed by the PPDS planning.
Functionally, the stock transfer horizon/ production horizon in SNP are analogous to the planning time fence in PPDS, which provide the system ability to keep the plan firm/unchanged within this period.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    Umesh

  • Difference between copy to Manufacturing and Transfer to Manufacturing

    Hi ,
What is the difference between copy to Manufacturing and Transfer to Manufacturing in Engineering Change Orders ?
    Thanks
    Kiran

    Hi,
Transfer to manufacturing will transfer the same item to item from eng to PROD.
Where as copy can be used to change the item from A (in Engg) to B (in Prod). So copy is more like copying the attributes/values of the engg item into a different item in PROD.
    Thanks

  • Difference between backup, sync and transfer?

I've read the iPad book and a few Apple tech notes on this but am still not 100% clear on the differences. It seems we can sync, backup and transfer our iPad data to our computers.
Frankly, I don't understand why there isn't just one process that "backs up" your iPad to your computer so there is a mirror copy of data in case you need to restore your iPad, existing or new one if lost.
Can some one summarize the difference between the 3 and a strategy to have ALL your iPad info on your computer? I use MobileMe BTW so my contacts and calendar are always synced using Push.
    Thanks. Steven

A backup only backs up up certain items. Other items are synced from your library and other places. See the following for what is in a backup:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079
The transfer only transfers/copies iTunes purchases to a computer. It is useful when you buy items directly from the itunes store from your iPad. It is also very useful when your computer crashed and you do not have a backup. Thus, you can transfer music (which you can't redownload for free unlike app where your can).
Unless you cancel it, a backup is made every time you sync. Doing a backup alone is useful if you computer crashed and you do not have a backup. That way you can, along with doing other things like transferring purchases, get your iPad back to syncing with a "new" computer.

  • What is the difference between"export audio and "bounce"?

What is the difference between the "export audio" and "bounce" functions?
Do plug ins get saved with the created BWF(broadcast wave files)in the "export" function?
Or is the "bounce" method the required function to enable plugins embedded in BWF files?
Also I noticed that the "convert to SDII file" produces files not readable by ProTools.
It was my understanding that using the convert to SD II files via the audio bin is used, it would produce BWF files for use in Protools. And if you use symbols like / in your track names the files won't get converted or bounced!
Also would it not be cool if LE8 had a feature that could render BWF files small enough to send via internet file sharing and transfer apps, in other words a built in file transfer feature. Am I asking for too much.

Export audio is good to move the tracks to another application or computer for further editing.
Bounce renders the mix into a stereo track in 2 basic ways: PCM, i.e. uncompressed, or compressed (like AAC, mp3 etc.).
PCM can be AIFF, Broadcast WAV (even if it's written only WAV those are BWF), and SDII that's the standard file type of ProTools.
Note that PT doesn't use interleaved stereo files but two separate files for left and right channels, i.e. filename.l and filename.r and if you save in this way PT will accept those files for sure.
Uncompressed audio files cannot be compacted (in fact, that's why they're called uncompressed).
These days there are a lot of Internet services that permit to transfer several Gb (up to 5) for free.
If you are thinking of something like Digidelivery then you should put your attention towards Digi's products, not Apple's ones.
    cheers
    rob
