Difference between Workflow and Alert management
HI all
Let me know the difference between workflow and alert management. ?
In Workflow if we want to trigger alert or mail.
We can use SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 FM send mail.
But in alert we can use different method?
Can i know wht the exact difference between two?
Hi,
email messages can be sent with both technologies...
If you need to send just a simple email, use the ALM.
If you need to send email and wait something adding additional flows....use the Worflow.
Remember that with ALM is not possible to attach something to the email.
You can add additional steps like web addresses in order to perform further activities.

Differences between inband and outband management IP
Hi All
What is the difference between inband mgmt IP and outband mgmt IP
and How could I configure the inband as when I tried to configure it I received the following error:
vlan"xyz"resolved to unsupported vlan ID
as in attached
BTW the procedure I used to create inband mgmt IP
1- create vlan group includes all vlans created globally (vlan of data traffic and mgmt traffic)
2- modify the inband profile from the LAN tab to be:
Inband vlan group: the created in point 1
Network: vlan of data traffic
3- from service profile of certain server I changed the inband mgmt with static IP ( in the range of data traffic vlan) and use the network of data traffic vlan
Thanks in advanceThanks Walter
You are very helpful
I tried the procedure you provide me with
The management IP range 192.168.2.0/24 vlan 2
the data traffic IP range 192.168.3.0/24 vlan 3
I tried to use different IP range(192.168.4.0/24 vlan 4) for inband management IP and I can open the inband KVM but the VMs on the server could not be accessed (the uplink ports are trunk for vlan 3,4) and the ports in the core SW are trunk for vlan 3,4 also.
also I tried the same range of data traffic but I could not open the KVM inband and the error of vlan"xyz"resolved to unsupported vlan ID appeared again
so any advice
thanks in advance

Difference between Workflow and Integration Process
Hi Experts,
Can someone please explain, what is the difference between the workflow and integration process(BPM).
Thanks
SreeHi Sree,
Integration Processes are :-
--Message based
--Interface focused
--Cross component
--Have no support for human interaction
--Enabled with SAP XI
Workflows are:-
--Object based
--Human focused
--Intra-application
--Have no support for mapping, routing or message transformations
--Enabled with the SAP Web AS
However, most automated business processes involve a combination of the two.
I hope this clear your doubt.

Difference between workflow and webflow?
i created one workflow.
i need to configure to web(webflow).
user should complete his work with webflow .
What configurations need to made for created workflow to make it for Webflow?HI,
None! The name 'WebFlow' was established during the internet boom to highlight the internet features of SAP Business Workflow. But nowadays, the internet is no longer exotic and it makes no sense to focus on a User Interface in the Web Browser (e.g. the Universal Worklist iView in SAP Enterprise Portal user package) or an internet-based protocol such as wf-xml. So WebFlow is synonymous with SAP Business Workflow and vice versa.

Dear Experts,
I have few doubts and request your expert inputs to clarify my doubts.
What is the difference between action and workflow? How do I decide that I need an action in a transaction and not a workflow and vice versa?
Your earliest response is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
SMTPHi SMTP,
First of all, as I mentioned action is nothing but an executable work item which is designed in the workflow itself. In other words, Workflow is like your OOPS class. At run time, workflow instances are created just like objects of classes. Now, the steps designed in the workflow are called TASKS and the instances of tasks are called WORKITEMS. Now, the work items where any user action is required are called executable work items. ANd the work items where no user action is required (for example, sending an email in background) are called non-executable work items.
Whether to go with development of workflow or not depends upon your business scenario. If your requirement is only to send an email and you find any BAdi or exit where in you can write your logic then there is no need of creating a workflow. If there is a defined business process with defined users and time lines, then you can go with the development of workflows.

What is the differents between Policies and Preferences in Group policy Management Editor
What is the differents between Policies and Preferences in Group policy Management Editor?
Policies: If you delete a policy in GPO it deletes its registry files form the clients. Policies don't tattoo the registry. Policies Settings are permanent as long policy is in effect i.e. Desktop Backgrond. Policies are applied at Computer
Startup, User logon and Manual and automatic refresh. Takes Precedence over Preferences.
Preferences: Even if you delete a policy form Preferences tab the registry files will still available on the systems. Preferences tattooed the registry if you want to remove the registry entries you have to do it manually. Preferences exampl
is i.e. mapped drive. Settings applied with preferences are not grayed out. Not available in Local GPO.

Differences between M30 and M40 /Power management
Hi!
I own a M30x and have a problem with the power management utility run by restricted users. (XP Prof/SP2 - Toshiba Power Management Utility 1.27.2.1.
A restricted User cannot access the tool and the notebook runs in full power mode whether it has power supply or accu-supply.
In this forum i read that m40's latest power saving tool can be accessed by a restricted user.
So, the question is clear: What's the difference between m30 and m40 notebooks? Can I use m40's power saver on my m30 without causing troubles?
TIA,
GeorgHello Georg
As far as I know the tools and utilities are not the same for every notebook model or series. The notebooks have different hardware configuration and every tool is designed to work properly with own series.
Optical they are all the same or resemble but I am pretty sure that you can have problems using tool on your unit designed for another notebook model. -
Credit Management: Difference Between Static and Dynamic Credit Check
Hi,
Could anyone tell the difference Between Static and Dynamic Credit Check?
According to website: http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/sd/difference-between-static-and-dynamic-credit-check.htm ... this is the answer:
====================
Simple Credit Check : Tr.Code - FD32
It Considers the Doc.Value + Open Items.
Doc.Value : Sales Order Has been saved but not delivered
Open Item : Sales Order has been saved , Delivered, Billed & Transfered to FI, but not received the payment from the customer.
Static Credit Check it checks all these doc value & check with the credit limit
1) Open Doc.Value / Sales Order Value : Which is save but not delievered
2) Open Delivery Doc.Value : Which is delivered but not billed
3) Open Billing Doc.Value : Which is billed but not posted to FI
4) Open Item : Which is transfered to FI but not received from the customer.
Dynamic Credit Check 1) Open Doc
2) Open Delivery
3) Open Billing
4) Open Items
5) Horizon Period = Eg.3Months
Here the System will not consider the above 1, 2, 3 & 4 values for the lost 3 months.
====================
Question 1: Could you further explain the above information, if there is any?
Question 2:: What is the Tcode to customize settings of:
a) Simple Credit Check (isn't this same with b) below?)
b) Static Credit Check
c) Dynamic Credit CheckHi Tanish,
Diff between Static and Dynamic Filters.
Example One at report Level.
Create a variable for a Infoobject say ,Material .
1)In the Query Designer and if u restrict it to some 10 materials at query level, the report will display for only those 10 materials only. This is Static Filter.UR AHrdcoding it to those materials. You cant change them at Query Run time.i.e not changeable by user.
2)If u give the variable as input ,and when u run the query ,u can can choose the material, may 10 may be 1 or may 20 .It is dynamic.Changeable by user at run time
Example Two at DTP and Start Routine Level, say Document Type.
1)If u give filters in Start routine it is Static as u cannot change it in Production, not changeable by user.
2)f u give filters in DTP it is Dyanamic as u can change it in Production.U can give any doc type,Changeable by user at run time.
Hope it is Understood.

What's the difference between WorkflowTask and WorkflowJob in SAP MDM API?
Hi Support,
Could you tell me the differences between WorkflowTask and WorkflowJob in SAP MDM API? And which can represent a workflow in Workflows tab in MDM Date Manager.
Thanks & Regards,
SongHi Songxu,
Workflow Task: It is the task(workflow steps like Process, Approver etc) assigned to different user during Workflow. User's use the workflow tabs in Data Manager to view and process workflow tasks. see page 91/654 of Data Manager Guide.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/4b/72b8aaa42301bae10000000a42189b/MDMDataManager71.pdf
Workflow Job: Each workflow is invoked as a job that can consist of multiple records that move through the steps of a workflow (how many records are involved into your Workflow) as a group while simultaneously maintaining record-level granularity. Once the job has been launched, it moves automatically from step-to-step and from user-to-user, showing up in the inbound task queue in each useru2019s Workflows tab for disposition and processing.

What is the difference between RFX and Reverse Auctions.
Hi friends
What is the difference between RFX and Reverse Auctions? Is Reverse Auction a tool.
Can we perform Reverse Auctions in Live Auction cockpit.
Regards
SuryaA commonly used term in bidding is RFx. This is a generic term
used to describe different types of requests. RFx includes, for example,
Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for
Information (RFI), etc.
Reverse auctions include many of the same features as Bid Invitations, including (but not limited to) the following:
Copy with reference
Auction search
Open Catalog Interface
Internal / external attachments of any type
Customer fields
Error log
Change log
Template management
Business partners at line level
Workflow approval of bids
PO / Contract creation (via Bidding Engine)
XML export
Yes you can perform reverse auctions in live auction **** pit
