  • What is the difference bt trns rsa5 and rsa6?

    hi,
    Can anyone tell me the difference as well as signficance between the two transaction codes : rsa5 and rsa6.

    hi hari,
    RSA5 --> To Install Data Sourcess from Bussiness Content
    In this step, you transfer and activate the DataSources delivered by SAP as well as partner DataSources delivered in your own namespace where applicable.
    RSA6 -->> Sub sequent process or Postprocessing of DataSources.
    In this section, you find out how to subsequently process DataSources or application component hierarchies.
    To adjust existing DataSources to your requirements, you edit them in this step and transport them from a test system into a productive system.
    You can also use this procedure to post-process the application component hierarchy.
    hope it helps,

  • Difference between RSA5 and AWB-- Business Content tab?

    Hi all,
    RSA5 is for installing the business content datasources.
    AdministratorWorkBench--> BusinessContent is also used for installing the Business Content Datasources.
    So what is the difference between these two options?
    Thanks.

    RSA5 is inturn a business content.. but it has data sources of the system, from the source system angle.. it will have the related code to pick the data
    in business content tab, you will have the data source and destination specific items. it will have the structures to transfer data
    ie, if you want to use load data from bw system itself, you wil have to install the data source from rsa5

  • RSA5 and RSA6.

    Hi,
    I have to enhance a BI Content data source 0FI_AP_4.
    I added a new field in RSA6 and populated data using a function module.
    When I am checking this data source in RSA6 it looks fine but when I see the same in RSA5 I can see the newly added field but <b>with checked status for "Hide" an "Field Only" options.</b>
    Why it is so like this??
    Thanks much in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    RSA5 is before the trasfer of datasource to BW system
    RSA6 is the Post Processing ie after trasfer to BW system
    Once the Data source is transfered to BW system, the relevance of RSA5 is not more for that data source.

  • Difference btn WD and VC

    Hello All,
    Can anyone tell me/send me the links reg. the advantages and disadvantages of VC over :
    Web Dynpro for ABAP
    Web Dynpro for Java
    BSPs .
    Regards,
    Deepu.K

    Hi Bala,
    What you have understood about VC is absolutely correct. In short Visual Composer is a browser based modeling tool that allows to create applications on existing data services. The data services can be connections to transactional (RFC, Web Service, Portal JDBC) or analytical (SAP BI, JDBC, SAP Query, XMLA, ODBO) backend systems. In addition you can build User Interfaces, that can be either rendered in Web Dynpro or Adobe Flash/Flex.
    But on the other hand, you are wrong in saying "<i>same being done thru GP</i>". CAF GP is different thing all together. The entire concept of CAF (Composite Application Framework) revolves around building composite applications. CAF is broadly divided into 2 parts: CAF Core and CAF GP. CAF GP is a framework for modeling and managing workflows using simple and user-friendly tools. It can be used to implement processes in your enterprise that involve multiple contributors and use various services.
    In very simple terms, think of a scenario where you have a Web Dynpro Application, a Visual Composer Application, a Web Service etc., and you wish to make a process (workflow) using all of these, where these different applications act as dependent steps (dependent in terms of parameters passing from one step to other), then CAF GP is the tool which will help you achieve this.
    You can now see my answers on the following threads for understanding more on Visual Composer and CAF GP:
    What is visual composer?
    Do let me know if you have any more doubts.

  • RSA5 and 6

    Dear All,
            What is the difference b/w RSA5 and RSA6. If I create a datasource in RSO2 where does it appear before and after activating?
    Regards,
    Ratish
    [email protected]

    Hi Ratish,
    All business content data sources available in RSA5 and u can activate them using transfer data sources
    In RSA6 u can find the data sources which u have created(generic) and business content data sources

  • The datasource present in RSA5 or RSA6 should be there in BI content.

    Hi to all.
    I want do extraction on datasources present in RSA6. Now I have observed that, that datasource is not there in BI content. I have checked for some other datsources and they were also not in BI content.
    Now my question is that all the datasources present in RSA5 or RSA6 will be there in BI content or not? If not then how can I take them there?
    Thanks in advance.
    Vinod.

    Hi,
    Replicate the Data sources into BIW after activation.And then select the source systems (tick mark) in BI content Activation scrren in BIW.  And then drag and Drop the Transfer rules with data flow before.Now you can see that respective Datasources are also collected.

  • Does anyone know the difference btn the following statements?

    Hello,
    Do you know the difference btn the folllowing two statements?

    ifnull("Fact - Purchase Order"."ABC VTX Estimated Tax",0)
    I am still new to the business: so if one statement is: ,0) and the other is: ,0) 2) what is major difference among them?
    will appreciate your help

    ROUND(IFNULL("Fact - Project Budget"."Current Budget Cost",0), 2)If "Fact - Project Budget"."Current Budget Cost" is null then setting to 0 value and then rounding for 2 positions
    Rounds a numerical expression to n digits of precision.
    Example
    This example returns 2.17 as the result.

  • Difference between Null and null?

    What is the difference between null and NULL?
    When is each used?
    Thanks,

    veryConfused wrote:
    There is a null in java, but no NULL. null means no value. However, when assigning value, the following is different:Although the empty String has no special role. Null means, the referential type is not assigned (doesn't refer) to a specific object. The empty String is just another object though, so seeing it or pointing it out as something special when it actually isn't at all (no more special than new Integer(0) or new Object[0]) just adds to the confusion.

  • Difference in Null and Empty String

    Hi,
    I have been wondering about the difference between Null and Empty String in Java. So I wrote a small program like this:
    public class CompareEmptyAndNullString {
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              String sNull = null;
              String sEmpty = "";
              try {
                   if (sNull.equalsIgnoreCase(sEmpty)) {
                        System.out.println("Null and Empty Strings are Equal");
                   } else {
                        System.out.println("Null and Empty Strings are Equal");
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    This program throws Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
         at practice.programs.CompareEmptyAndNullString.main(CompareEmptyAndNullString.java:10)
    Now if I change the IF Clause to if (sEmpty.equalsIgnoreCase(sNull)) then the Program outputs this: Null and Empty Strings are Equal
    Can anyone explain why this would happen ?
    Thanks in Advance !!

    Saish,
    Whether you do any of the following code, the JUnit Test always passes: I mean he NOT Sign doesnt make a difference ...
    assert (! "".equals(null));
    assert ("".equals(null));
    You probably have assertions turned off. Note the the assert keyword has nothing to do with JUnit tests.
    I think that older versions of JUnit, before assert was a language keyword (which started in 1.4 or 1.5), had a method called assert. Thus, if you have old-style JUnit tests, they might still compile, but the behavior is completely different from what it was in JUnit, and has nothing to do with JUnit at all.
    If you turn assertions on (-ea flag in the JVM command line, I think), the second one will throw AssertionError.

  • Difference between GUI_UPLOAD and WS_UPLOAD

    Hi,
    Please make me clear about the difference between GUI_UPLOAD and WS_UPLOAD. In which cases we need to use these modules...??
    Thanks,
    Satish

    I would suggest to always use the GUI_UPLOAD.  I say this because this is the function module which is used in the GUI_UPLOAD method of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.   Really, you should probably use the class/method instead of the function module.
      data: filename type string.
      filename = p_file.
      call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_upload
             exporting

  • Difference between char and varchar, also the difference between varchar2

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain me the difference between char and varchar, and also the difference between varchar and varchar2...

    Varchar2 is variable width character data type, so if you define column with width 20 and insert only one character to tis column only, one character will be stored in database. Char is not variable width so when you define column with width 20 and insert one character to this column it will be right padded with 19 spaces to desired length, so you will store 20 characters in the dattabase (follow the example 1). Varchar data type from Oracle 9i is automaticlly promoted to varchar2 (follow example 2)
    Example 1:
    SQL> create table tchar(text1 char(10), text2 varchar2(10))
    2 /
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into tchar values('krystian','krystian')
    2 /
    1 row created.
    SQL> select text1, length(text1), text2, length(text2)
    2 from tchar
    3 /
    TEXT1 LENGTH(TEXT1) TEXT2 LENGTH(TEXT2)
    krystian 10 krystian 8
    Example 2:
    create table tvarchar(text varchar(10))
    SQL> select table_name,column_name,data_type
    2 from user_tab_columns
    3 where table_name = 'TVARCHAR'
    4 /
    TABLE_NAME COLUMN_NAME DATA_TYPE
    TVARCHAR TEXT VARCHAR2
