Difference in MRP between Planning with and without Final Assembly

Hello Friends,
1) I want to get myself clear on this topic like, in the case of strategy 40, MRP RUN takes place for multilevel planning and makes planned order for FG, SFG and Raw. now how is it different with Strategy 10 ??
2) In case of Strategy 50 (Planning without Final Assembly), after making MRP RUN, what are the inputs will be shown in MD04 for FG ??
Regards and Many Thanks,
Rahul

Hello,
Planning with final assembly:
1. Stocks on hand reduces the PIR during MRP run.
e.g. if stock is 100 and PIR is 100, MRP run will not prompt 100 for procurement. if stock is 0 and PIR is 100, MRP run will prompt 100 for procurement.
2. Sales order creation reduces the PIR.
e.g. if PIR is 100, sales order 90, PIR becomes 10(withdrawal 90).
3. Delivery reduces the Sales Order.
Planned independent requirements are consumed by incoming sales orders so that the master plan is always adjusted to suit the current requirements situation.
Planning without final assembly:
1. Production quantities can be planned effectively.
2. Procurement of the components is planned by means of planned independent requirements entered at finished product level. The system creates special planned orders at finished product level for these planned independent requirements. These orders are only relevant for production once a sales order for the finished product exists.
3. The sales orders for this strategy are entered as individual customer requirements and are maintained in a separate segment in the planning run.
5. Final assembly is triggered once a sales order has been entered.
6. An availability check is performed on the basis of planned independent requirements.
7.The incoming sales order consumes the planned independent requirements.
Hopes it helps. please revert back.

  • The difference between the upgrades with and without MO?

I did many upgrades without maintenance optimizer.
But I did not use maintenance optimizer so far.
Could you summarize the differences between the upgrades with and without MO?
    Thanks!

The upgrade is the same, procedure is the same, glitches are the same, tools are the same. The only difference is, that you MUST use maintenance optimizer to confirm the supportpackages in your download basked before you're able to download them.

  • Difference between with table name with * and without *

    Hi..
I had seen some of the standard abap that the table name had *, like *ekpo. What is the meaning? What is the difference between with * and without * ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rishika

    Hi rishika,
    1. This is actually a facility provided in abap syntax.
    2. It is usually checked while saving a record.
    3. For eg.
    If we have one variable
    EKKO
    and another *EKKO
(They both are same only, with same structure)
    (but two different variables)
    4. The functional meaning, for usage purpose,
    of *EKKO is OLDEKKO.
    5. While saving the transaction,
the data is saved only if there is any change
    in the values.
    IF EKKO <> *EKKO.
    *--- SAVE
    ELSE.
    MESSAGE 'NO DATA CHANGED'
    ENDIF.
    6. We can aswell use any other variale
    eg. oldekko
    oekko
    myekko
    etc,
    7. But for business meaning,
R/3 has the facility for *
    1. we can use almost everywhere.
    2. just copy paste
    report abc.
    TABLES : T001.
    TABLES : *T001.
    DATA : ITAB LIKE EKKO.
    DATA : *ITAB LIKE EKKO.
    DATA : NUM TYPE I.
    DATA : *NUM TYPE I.

  • What is the difference between Planning cycle and Delivery cycle?

    Hi gurus ,
After created the planning calendar for store ,  I have the same option value for planning cycle and delivery cycle (planning calendar) in the MRP area data for site specific material master , so what's the difference between these two field ?
    Thanks in advance ,
    Ryan

    Hi,
If you have to deal with more complex situations, you can define a delivery cycle in the material master record in addition to the planning cycle. In so doing, you determine the days on whichthe vendor delivers his goods. The delivery cycle is entered in the material master record as a planning calendar in the Planning calendar field.
You enter a delivery cycle if the delivery date (or the goods receipt date) depends on the day on which you order the goods. For example, you carry out the planning run and place your orders on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you place the order on Monday, the delivery is made on Wednesday, if you wait until Tuesday to place the order, the delivery is not made until Friday
Where as Planning calander is Three character number (numeric or using letters) that specifically identifies a PPS-planning calendar. The difference between Planning calender and delivery cycle is If you have selected the MRP type "MRP" and have set a period lot-sizing procedure according to planning calendar, you enter here which planning calendar is to be used.
If you selected the "time-phased planning" MRP type, the planning calendar that you specify here defines the delivery cycle. This specifies the days on which the vendor delivers the material. You can enter the planning cycle in addition to the delivery cycle

  • I need to know the difference between planned SKF and Actual SKF from business view and when I can use one of them ?

I need just to know the difference between plan SKF and Actual SKF in business example and when I use one of them.
    thanks

    Hi Salaam,
Statistical Key Figure (SKF) is a base to allocate the cost between cost centers. Usually, common cost centers cost should allocate to respective department cost centers on monthly basis.
Some of SKFs are: Calculating floor rent on SFT, Telephone charges on No. of units, and employees head count is with "Each" in SAP.
Apart from Ajay's reply, you can consider the Canteen exp in an organization. Assume Admin, Fin and Mfg departments are getting food services from Canteen. Here, total monthly cost of Canteen exp should be allocated to respective departments. Here, we use SKF as total head count of each department and distribute the cost.
Planned SKF is what you planned on the beginning of a period. (Assume head count was planned as 30 in the month beginning)
Actual SKF is what exactly you consumed over the period. (Actual employees provided canteen services during the month is 25)

  • Difference between Planning Version and Simulation Version

    Hi friends,
What is the difference between Planning Version and Simulation Version?
    Thanks,
    Debi

    Debi
There are a lot of threads in this forum that give detailed info about version concept. Also you can refer to help.sap.
Anyways , planning version is the version against which your live cache data is stored.  The data against this version is the one that the planners and buyers are going to refer to or use to make their planning and buying decisions. Data against the planning version is nothing but data relevant to the business .
There may be instances where you would like to simulate some scenario. If you want to do trial and error analysis and at the same time if you do not want to impact the actual business data , then you create simulation versions and simulate your scenario.
For example your actual sales orders received for the month of March may be 100 CS. This is the actual number that will be stored against your planning version. Lets say the demand planner wants to find out what will be the impact if there is a sudden bulk demand from a new customer for 500 CS - that is if he wants to do a what - if analysis then he can create a simulation version and try to check the impact .
    Thanks

  • Physical inventory with and without handling unit managment

    Hello all,
I would like to know what is the difference between physical inventory with and without handling unit management.
    Pl. advise.
    Thanks,
    Maxx

Assuming you are referring to WM inventory, it is very similar.  Inventory is conducted at the SU level in WM if you are HU managed.  One of the most widely known issues is the lack of ability to post differences of nested HUs at the WM level.  If you are not using nested HUs, the process is the same as storage unit management without handling unit management.

  • PlayEvent - with and without the TemporalProxyElement

I looked through the bug base and didn't see anything on this topic:
I'm testing the way the PlayEvent works and have found a difference between
using a SerialElement with and without the TemporalProxyElement.
Test 1:  (standard SerialElement with 3 videos )
    video1:  evt.playState = playing
    video1:  evt.playState = stopped
    video2:  evt.playState = playing
    video2:  evt.playState = stopped
    video3:  evt.playState = playing
    video3:  evt.playState = stopped
Test 2:  (standard SerialElement with 3 images using TemporalProxyElement )
    image1:  no event fired
    image2:  evt.playState = playing
    image3:  evt.playState = playing
    image3:  evt.playState = stopped
My thinking these 2 tests should be identical. Is this correct or a bug?
I don't see any dependable way of using the PlayEvent under these conditions.

    Hi,
This may be coming from limitation of imageElement (image vs video), but I have a bug file logged here with an example in case, so that our eng can take a look.

    Hi friends,
Somebody can pls tell --Difference of upgrade between SAP4.7 and ECC6.0 in terms of sap SD module or any links for this.
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
Your question is a little general...Maybe you could go to sap help portal to search for the documentation for upgrading to 600.
As I know, we have some new functionality in release 600. For example, shipping point determination with storage location, automaticly outbound delivery creation after saving stock transfer order...
Also the screen is different for most list transactions like VA05.

  • Bex Report with and without BIA . . Fails with a dump EXPORT_TOO_MUCH_DATA

    Hi Folks,
We have a report thats has been running well in production for more about 18 months. This month it did not complete execution.
We did implement BIA couple of 4 months back and the run times have drastically reduced after the BIA. Now this query execution results in a Dump with and without BIA.  FYI the underlying cube has 195,876,020 records only.

Referred to the below note 0001232573
which says to have 'RSRCACHE_ITAB_COMPR'  parameter using report SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN
Note say the below (It might be a little tricky, to find an appropriate value for 'RSRCACHE_ITAB_COMPR' as it heavily depends on the query-specific data structures that are stored in the cache. The general recommendation would be to start with a value of about 5000. Test this with a query, that dumped previously. In case the dump persists reoccurs, reduce the value of the parameter significantly. Otherwise, if no dump occurs but you face noticeably longer runtimes, increase the parameter.)
We are trying not able to get to the right parameter value. (changed it from 5000, 4000, 3000, & 1000) without much  help.  Did any of you had to change this parameter. How low or High can this parameter be changed?
We would like to understand if changing any other parameters would help in RSADMIN table would help?
Any thoughts from the experts would be appreciated
    Thanks,

    H i
1.The Vat ( Tax ) is applicable on basis of Customer and Mareial Tax classification.
    2. So as far as material is concerned , group all VAT applicable material in One Division
    Say in FMCG Company
Divisions are Soaps , Skin Care , Shampoo etc
Create Sub Divsions say for Eg Soaps-------Soaps 1( Taxable) & Soaps 2 .( Non Taxable ) and acordingly for other divisions
And then Create Sales Areas accordingly.
All this will need Reorganisation of your Sales Area
