  • What's The Difference Between Syncing, Transfer and Impo

I see these options within MediaSource 5. What's the difference between them?
Also: how is the My Music folder (where I keep my mp3's on my computer's hard dri've) different from the PC Music Library?

Import and Transfer mean the same thing. They just add the tracks that you have selected to your MP3 player. Sync is more intelligient in that it automatically decides for you whether to transfer or import tracks to your MP3 player. So, if the tracks already exist in the MP3 player, it won't be transferred or imported.

  • Differences between sync, fullsync, and their eff varieties for messages

I'm looking at messages to use in Application Designer and trying to understand some of the built-in ones. For example, I'm looking at LOCATION and see 4 different messages:
    1) LOCATION_FULLSYNC
    2) LOCATION_FULLSYNC_EFF
    3) LOCATION_SYNC
    4) LOCATION_SYNC_EFF
What is the difference for each? Would like to know how it's done in PS so I can mimic them for other tables.

    Hi,
The FullSync services are there to initially send over all the data, in your case the entire Location table.
You should run this once, when initially integrating with another (PS) application.
After this these services should be deactivated.
The FullSyncEff services will only send over the data that is current on effective date, so only active locations at the moment, based on current date.
You should run this once, when initially integrating with another (PS) application.
After this these services should be deactivated.
The Sync services will send data over every time a location is changed, added or deleted and are triggerd upon saving the page.
These services should stay alive, to keep the environments in sync.

    Hakan

  • Differences btw stb and digital adapter

can someone clarify what are the main differences  between a stb and a digital adapter besides size and price.
i know you cant receive any hd signal right?

 DCT-700 Standard Definition Digital Adapter
    (Dimensions: Width: 5.50” (13.97 cm), Depth: 6.60” (16.76 cm), Height: 1.75” (4.45 cm), Weight: ~0.85 lbs (~0.39 kg))
     Features:
 Can decode and play all Standard Definition (SD) channels
 Has Coax Out (Screw in) and Composite Out (Yellow, White, Red) to TV
 Is much smaller than our other Set Top Boxes (STBs)
     Restrictions:
 No High Definition (HD) content support
 No data features whatsoever (No Program Guide, VOD, Widgets, Games or IPTV)
 Cannot participate as a video client in a Multi-Room Digital Video Recorder setup (MR-DVR)
 Cannot view photos or stream music or videos from Home Media on the customer’s PC
 There are no buttons or displays, just a Power light – it requires the Verizon remote to operate
 QIP-2500 Standard Definition Digital Set Top Box
    (Dimensions: Width: 14.72” (37.4 cm), Depth: 10.00” (25.4 cm), Height: 2.75” (6.9 cm), Weight: ~5.5 lbs (~2.50 kg))
     Features:
 Can decode and play all SD channels
 Has Coax Out, Composite Out, and S-Video Out (Round plug with 4 pins in it)
 Has full data features – IMG, PPV, VOD, Games, Widgets and IPTV all work fine
 Can participate as a video client in a MR-DVR setup (SD recordings only)
 Supports Digital Optical Audio and Digital SPDIF (also known as Coax Digital) Audio
     Restrictions:
     No HD content support
 Cannot view photos or stream music or videos from Home Media on the customer’s PC
Also there are DVR and HD stbs etc -- if you want any info on them just let me know.  That is just the comparison of the digital adapter and standard stb.

  • The difference between SOAP adapter and WS adapter in PI 7.1

    Hello all,
can anybody explain what is the main difference between SOAP adapter and WS adapter in PI 7.1?
    I have checked this [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/0d/5ab43b274a960de10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
but was not able to find the real difference.
Or better, what can I do with WS adapter I can't do with SOAP adapter? What are their advantages/disadvantages?
    Thank you all, Igor.

In addition to RM, ws adapter also support other ws standard like SAML which is not available in SOAP adatper. Beside:
if your sender or receiver is SAP system, you can also monitor the message in the sender/receiver in addition to the PI box. This is a very good thing, because sometime the MONI in PI shows nothing wrong, but the MONI in your receiver will show you error message that's only related to the receiver system.
However, if you define ws sender CC, and your ws client doesn't support RM, you will have issue sending ws request.
And ws CC will generate ws runtime in PI box, if your configuration is wrong (like user name and password not correct), even if you correct it, the ws runtime sometime won't be regenated based on the correction. In this case you need to delete the ws CC/agreement, and re-create it with all correct information.
Beside make sure your basis team configured the PI system properly regarding ws. If not, you will have lot of pain to figure the problem which was my case.

  • Where can I get accessories and power adapter for Powerbook 180c

My father just bought me second hand a Powerbook 180c. It looks to be in great condition. But it can't be checked to make sure as the battery is dead and the power adapter was not with it. I've looked on line at various stores, Office Depot, Staples, Amazon, Buy, etc only to find that they either do not carry Apple products or the accessories and power adapters would not work. Or the prices are disgustingly high. Due to illness I cannot work and my parents are on a limited budget. Does anyone know what sites carry accessories and power adapters that will work on the 180c without breaking the bank, atleast a power adapter for now, to see if the 180c even works? Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I'm not sure that a retail store will still carry an adaptor this old unless it's a generic one.
I just checked mine, as Jan says it is 7.5V DC at 3.0A don't get the older version which was for older PowerBooks as it was only 2.0A. The part number on my 3.0A is M5652.
This fellow on eBay seems to have lots.

  • Sync/Async and Async/Sync Bridge in JMS Adapter

    Hi,
I have scenarios using both the Sync/Async and the Async/Sync Bridge in the JMS Adapter. In general this works fine. There is just one thing that caught my attention.
In the Sync/Async Bridge, the correlation in JMS is done
JMS Message ID of Reqeust --> JMS Correlation ID of Response
In the Async/Sync Bridge, it is done
JMS Correlation ID of Request --> JMS Correlation ID of Response
which seems strange as I would have expected to work the same for both ways...
I'm following exactly the setup described in the 'How-to correlate JMS' guide.
Has anybody experienced the same thing or am I missing something important here?
    thanks for your help
    regards,
    Peter

    Hi,
If I get it right the MQ queue gives a response message back to XI. The message looks okay on MQ queue, but in XI it's empty.
So I guess the problem must be within the channel that picks it from MQ queue. Did you configure any  modules in it that might screw up the content? Is the the message empty as soon as it arrives in XI adapter engine? Pls. check in RWB Monitoring or End-to-End monitoring.
Do you have other channels that pick up messages from that or another MQ queue which do not show such an error? Are they configured exactly the same way?

    Kai

  • Difference in idoc adapter header mapping between SP14 and SP19

    Hi All,
    i have a very strange problem.......i have 2 XI systems : XI-sandbox and XI-dev.....
    XI-sandbox is on XI3.0 SP19 whereas XI-dev is on XI3.0 SP14...........
I have a file->XI->idoc scenario which is same on both XI-sandbox and XI-dev....
in receiver idoc adapter, i am using header mapping for sender service and in the sender service i am using XPATH of a field of control rec of idoc.........
this scenario works fine on XI-sandbox which is on SP19 and the idocs are sent to SAP R/3 sandbox...........but this scenario on XI-dev gives error in SXMB_MONI in XI-dev of Call adapter - "No party conversion found".........
So my question is that is there any difference in idoc adapter header mapping between SP14 and SP19.........
    Thanks,

    ><i>so i cant use apply control rec values from payload.........</i>
    rajeev,
I know this has nothing to do with the original problem but please do bear.
If I undertood you posts correct, the Sender Partner Name is set in the Idoc Control record in the field SNDPRN in the mapping using some mapping logic.
Now, this is the partner name with which the idoc is to be posted to thge R3 system.
if yes, then like I have pointed above, using "Take Sender From Payload" in the Receivcer Idoc Adapter is a better option as pointed in the SAP help as well.
As you are already populating the idoc control ecord with SNDPRN just make the SNDPRT as LS and then select "Take Sender from Payload" in the receiver Idoc adapter and the Sender Partner Name will not be taken from SDNPRN just as you want.
This is different from "Apply Control Records From Payload" .

  • Difference between webservices model and adaptive  webservices model

    hi
Can any one explain me regarding Difference between webservices model and adaptive  webservices model.
    Thanks

    Hi,
In old WS Model, ithere was no concept of logical destinations.
There if you are using a WSDL located on a server and if the location of the WSDL
changes, your application won't run. The deployed application using the WS Model will have trouble finding
the WSDL. As a result you'll have to again import the
model. Moreover old WS Model does not have re-import functionality.
But incase of AWS Model, you can desine logical destinations and even if the location of the WSDL changes, all you have to do is change the new url in the Visual Admin and not import the model again.
You can visit the following link for more details:

  • Difference between Idoc Adapter and Proxies..

    HI XI Guru's,
I am new to XI, I wanted to know what is the difference between Idoc adpater and proxies. When and what should be preffered ?
    Warm Regards,
    - Priya R

idocs which mean - (intermediate documents)  are standard  document formats which sap systems use to store as well send data from one system to another. If this is the format in which data has to received by R/3 then you will use idoc adapter in XI.  idoc adapter can be used to communicate between systems is with  SAP release higher than  3.1.X. Communication using idoc adapter is always asynchronous.
proxies are available for communication between  SAP systems with version WAS 6.20 and above. They support both synchronous as well as asynchronous modes of communication. Generally when you are looking at developing new application using WAS 6.20 and above then you can design the interfaces for this new applications in SAP XI and generate the required code for these interfaces automatically in SAP systems using transaction code - SPROXY in the case of ABAP Proxy and in the case of Java proxies the code is generated by SAP XI system itself. You only have to implement these interfaces in your new application. So, basically you have to only worry about building the application and the interface part is taken care by XI itself. you can also look at using proxies when data has to be inserted or fetched from custom/standard tables in R/3 using XI.
,idoc adapter can be used for commuincation between ABAP stacks only but Proxy can be used for both ABAP as well JAVA stack.

  • Difference between OA Adapter and DB Adapter

    Hi All,
i am very new to SOA, Let me know the difference between OA Adapter and DB Adapter.
    thanks
    Hari

The EBS (OA) Adapter is mainly a sort of wrapper around DB and AQ adapter supporting the different interfaces of EBS including Business Events(AQ).
The adapter introspects the Integration Repository. And it sets the responsiblity/application context for you when connecting. The ebs-user and responsibility are set in the wsdl. Using the database adapter you should take care of that yourself.
Honestly, if you're basically using custom-plsql api's or the pl/sql api's of ebs (eg. TCA) then you're perfectly fine with the DB-adapter. The only thing is that you should set the responsiblity in the pl/sql yourself (for example in the intialization block of the pl/sql package).
