Difference of mrp  md50 & md02  whle doing mrp and production orders

Dear Gurus,
Please tell me the difference of mrp md50 and md02  also the production order difference from md04 and co01
regards,
muralidhar.t

Hi Murlidahr,
MD50 - Is Planing run for Sales Order. It can run MRP upto the last Level of BOM or in SAP terminology it is SINGLE ITEM MULTI LEVEL. Planing MD02 is also Single Item Multi level but there is one big difference and that is MD50 is concider those materials also which have MRP type M0, while MD02 is not useful in case of MRP type M0.
MD02 - Single Item Multi Level. It is used for Planing for Single Item. But it will explode the all levels of BOM and generates the Planing Proposals for all level of BOM components.
MD04  - Stock Requirement List.
CO01 -  Create Production Order Manually. You will find Orders (upto Teco) in MD04 also.

  • MRP Generated production orders greys out Sales Order and Customer fields

    Hi there,
The MRP generated production orders greys out the Sales Order and Customer fields for some reasons. These fields are really important as they link the production order to the sales order and the customer's purchase order. Could the SAP team please fix this or advise alternative way of getting the sales order and customer info on production order? Thanks.

    Hello
MRP only poulated this fields in case the material master has been set up with a strategy group hich is make to order (normally 20). Otherwise MRP summarizes all the requirements from different Customer orders and creates a production order

  • Run MRP for production order/maintenance order has been release

    Hi all,
please tell me how to configure for running mrp for production order/maintenance order has been release. as you know, i want production order has not release will not appear in MD04. I think that is the way for running mrp will not take care about this production order has not release
    Thanks all

    Hi Hoai,
It is impossible to exclude production order from net requirement calculation in MRP run. You may take a look at the online documentation under the PP-MRP area.
    Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP)
       Planning Process
         Net Requirements Calculation
           Net Requirements Calculation for MRP
But there is a way to temporarily exclude production order from MRP. That is you can set the 'delivery completed' indicator in 'Goods receipt' Tab in in production order. Please note that this order will not appear in MD04. Actually to some degree, this order could be considered as completed because ticking the indicator could set status 'DLV' for the order. But you still can execute confirmation, goods issue and goods receipt activities. This way is just a workaround. You may
    consider it.
Or maybe you can consider the useage of BADI: MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA to change the MRP run data to see if this could fulfill your requirement.

  • Difference between process order and Production order

    Hi Experts,
Can any buddy tell me the difference between process order and production order. Why process order is used for process industries. Why do we use recipe for it and routing for production order ?
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Amit
There is a difference between production order and process order.
Supposing a 10,000 lit tank is being manufactured in discrete manufacturing. You have to follow the necessary routing steps and can make by physically seeing its development stage by stage. For this type production you can have a production order.
In case of process of order if some chemical in a reactor is loaded with intial temp of 30 C and need to be heated to 80 C then there is phase change. Hence we use Heating as an operation and the change of temp is phase. For such type of process we process order.
Hope this is useful. Pl reward.

  • No FI document generated while doing GR for Production Order in MTO Scenaro

    Hi All,
In material master the strategy group is 20.No FI document generated while doing GR for Production Order in MTO Scenario. Then strategy group changed from 20 to 50 but still No FI document generated while doing GR for Production Order in MTO Scenario.
Could u please let me know whether FI document is generated at the time of GR against production order in case of MTO scenario.

    Hi,
While doing GR with ref to Production order check whether price is picking up or not for the production order.

  • Difference between MRP and MPS..

    Hi ALL,
I am aware that MPS planning is done for the materials which are high-valued....Main aim is to reduce costs and to increase planning stability...
Also these type of Materials can be planned using MRP...
Then why do we go for MPS Planning only...?
    Thanks..
    Regards,
    Ameya K.

    Hi Ameya,
    MPS
1.In the MPS run, the materials  marked MRP Type  as MPS (ie. M0,M1) only will be included . The planned orders are created at the MPS Material level only.
2.The BOM is exploded for next one level down only.Further level will not be exploded, that means Dependent requirements are created for the BOM components one level down, further level will not  processed.
This allows MRP controller can ensure that the MPS items are correctly planned  before any MRP run takes place. This allows the planner to check and change the planning result, before any MRP run takes place for other materials.
For example, consider this business scenario, suppose one wants to do planning for finished Goods once pre week, but it is necessary to do planning for their components on daily basis.
so for this exmple, you can define Finished materials with MRP type as MPS and all the components with MRP type as MRP.
MPS run is carried out before the MRP run. So that the Planner can ensure planning result before the MRP run.
    MRP.
MRP Run will plan  all  BOM level of  Materials.
i hope i have tried  to clear your doubt some what.

  • MRP and purchase order delivery date

    Hello
    Question about MRP
we would like that the MRP run takes into account purchase order with a delivery date in the future
Say the MRP run 10th of Oct we want that all purchase orders open with a delivery date in the future takes into account the quantity that needs to be ordered TODAY
    EXAMPLE
    Minimum stock 5
    Wse stock 0
Purchase order delivery date D+1 10
    Lead time is 5 days
So if you run MRP the systems proposes 5 to order today but they do not want  to order 5 because there is a coming purchase order D+1 of 10
Does anyone knows how the pruchase order of 10 is taken into account in the MRP run ?

Unfortunately, one of the weakness of SAP MRP is if a purchase order and/or production order is late, MRP will tell you to order it again instead of expediting.
We have overcome this and other issues with our own economical planning enhancements. If you are interested you can contact me with your contact information

  • How to ignore Assembly Scrap of MRP during Production order Creation

    Hi All,
We want to ignore the Assembly Scrap maintained in MRP View during production order creation.
We are maintaining assembly Scrap for planning so we do not want to remove that.
Please let us know if any User exit is there during Production Order Creation.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Dear Amit,
Assume in CO01,once after entering the total order quantity the system proposes the scrap quantity field separately, now
remove this quantity for scrap field and press enter and once again adjust the total quantity and check for what quantity the
system is proposing the BOM components.
check whether this works for your requirement.

  • MRP and Minimum Order Recom. Batch Sizes

I would like Purchase Order recommendations to be generated (MRP) based on minimum stock levels. If the stock is below the minimum Qty, then a PO is generated, but the minimum order Qty is ignored:
    Scenario:
    ItemCode: ABC
    Minimum Stock in WH: 40
    Current Stock in WH: 22.984
    Minimum Order Qty : 10
MRP Generated Recomended QTY : 17.016
As this item is purchased in lenghts of 6m's, ordering 0.016 will not be possible. We also need to order a minimum of 10.
As you can see the minimum Order Qty is ignored. The recomendation is suppose to be in batches of 10, so for this item it should have been 20.
    SAP : B1 2007 A SP: 0 PL:47
Any help will be apreciated greatly

    Hi,
Welcome you post on the forum.
Minimum Order in B1 only define the lowest order qty. It doesn't imply this is a minimum order unit. Try Order Multiple to get what you want.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • MRP and return orders

I need MRP takes in account the return orders created in sales. They must be considered as receipts.
    How can I do it?

Could you explain it a little more?
    I have found the note 6062082 :
    3. Question:
Can I activate the transfer of requirements for returns deliveries or
returns orders and can I use it in any form?
    Answer:
No. The ATP processes requirements (that is, entries in tables VBBE and VBBS)
always as planned issues. There is no option to process these requirements as
planned receipts. Consequently, returns can never be regarded as planned receipts in
    the ATP check.

  • Error when doing GR for production order with serial number

I'm not familiar with serial number and equipment management but I'm trying to help my user resolve this issue.
This product is returned from customer site.
I saw that this material is being reset in IQ02 from status in warehouse to become Available when the material is consumed in the production order via 261 movement type. So now the status is available. Then the user went to change a new serial number. Later, GR for production order is done in MB31. Errors are encountered when prompted to enter the new serial number.

  • Why does cutting and pasting ordered lists no longer preserve the line numbers

I often cut and paste ordered lists from web sites (track listings) to put with my downloaded tracks. Until the last update (not sure which version I was using with ubuntu 8.04 but it would have been the latest for that distro.) the line numbers were copied along with the ordered list, but they are not any more, so I have to type them all back in manually, which is a pain.
I have uninstalled firefox 9 to try to downgrade, but don't know which version would still work.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • Incorrect component in production order by MRP

On conversion of production order via MRP, in production order one of the component is incorrect with reference to BOM where
as on creation of PO manually by T code CO01 the component is correct even in planned order too it is correct by manually.
suggest any clue for the above.

    Dear ,
    Please check the following :
1.BOM validity and componenet valididty  while MRP run .Basically , during MRP run , system cheks set up in MPR4 view -BOM Selection and Explosion Indicator  and then explode the BOM with its compoenet having correct valididty date .If  the componenet does not have correct valididty (From and To date )  , then BOM may be selected without this compoenet  and generate planned order as well as subsequenetly , carried out the same in Production Order .
2.In case of Direct PO , you have Production Order Basic Finish  and Start date which comply with the BOM Valaidty including this component so system will copy the BOM along with all the component listed inside .
3.If you are maintaining PVs with differenr BOM Alternative and routing with Lot size and valaidty , if it is not matching  according to MRP4-2/3 indicator in BOM Slection /Explosion methods , then it may selecting the other alternative not having thew companet listed .
Check in test system and come back

  • MRP and MPS

    Hi,
what is the main difference between MRP and MPS ?
    Regards

    Hi,
The task of material requirements planning is to guarantee material availability. The system calculates which materials must be procured or produced at what time and in what amounts so as to provide the quantities required.
Using MPS you can carefully plan important parts or bottleneck parts in a separate planning run at the highest BOM level before the planning results have an effect on all of the production levels.
Lead time scheduling and the calculation of capacity requirements in MRP and MPS provide the basis for the creation of a master plan that corresponds to capacity planning. This way the MRP controller obtains information about possible bottlenecks and overloads. Before the master plan becomes effective and the planning results affect subordinate BOM levels, the MRP controller can make changes that affect capacity for chosen materials.
    Scheduling:
Before capacity planning can take place you must create capacity requirements within lead time scheduling, that is, determine the production dates. The system only generates capacity requirements if it executes lead time scheduling using the times specified in the routing.
Scheduling in MRP and MPS determines the basic dates and the production dates for the planned order. The basic dates define the earliest and latest dates for production. The production dates use the times in the routing to determine the start and finish of production as well as of the individual operations.
