Differences between 3D Toolkit and Acrobat 3D

I've read all the messages in the forum but the distinction is still not clear to me. From what I understand the 3DT has more advanced tools to import and prepare the data (CAD files for ex.) to be used in A3D while A3D is more of an authoring software. Am I right? (Please bear with me as I still cannot install the A3D package; see my previous post.)
Will the two products merge in the future or will they remain separate?
Also: if one gets Acrobat 3D is there ANY need for Acrobat Pro V7.x.x or is A3D a complete superset of Acrobat Pro V7.x.x? Will it always be the case, i.e. A3D version v.x.x being a superset of the equivalent version of Acrobat Pro v.x.x ?
If so maybe a simpler marketing strategy would to incorporate all the 3D authoring capabilities in Acrobat Pro and sell the more advanced 3D Toolkit separately. That way people who already have tools such as Deep Explorer might not need to buy the 3DT... or maybe that is exactly the point ;> Thanks and sorry for the long message! Iam Nemo

Acrobat 3D is indeed a superset of Acrobat Pro 7.0.7. To answer the rest of your post is little more difficult. The two applications are merged, to a degree, so that the full experience would be lost if you simply had Acrobat 7.0.7 Pro and Deep Exploration. Think of the 3D Toolkit as an editor for the models or objects that are in a 3D annotation in a PDF. When a user selects "Edit in 3D Toolkit" while in a 3D annotation the model is automatically opened in the 3D Toolkit. The user can then make what ever edits or adjustments they want, and when it is saved the 3D annotation inside the PDF is automatically updated. There may be several other compelling instances where the 3D Toolkit is integrated with Acrobat but my knowledge of this area is somewhat limited.

  • Difference between AcroPDF.dll and Acrobat.exe while loading standard and  custom plug_ins

    Hi,
I want to know the difference of behavior when AcroPDF.dll loading the PDF file in the internet explorer and Acrobat.exe application loading PDF in context of plug_ins developed by Adobe or Custom plug_ins using SDK.
When I am loading PDF within Acrobat.exe all the plug_ins (Standard as well as Custom) loaded successfully and working fine but at the same time if I am loading a document within Internet Explorer, behind the scene internet explorer using AcroPDF.dll which is ActiveX for IE to load PDF and it is trying to load plug_ins (standard and custom) but some how my custom plug_in is destroyed or currpted and it is not working any more.
I want to know how AcroPDF and Acrobat.exe using AcroExch.App class or using any other thing to load plug_ins?

  • Differences between PDF (Interactive) and PDF (Print)

What are the main differences between PDF (Interactive) and PDF (Print)?
Now it seems to me that PDF (Interactive) is limited version of PDF (Print).
Any links to read about this topic?
    Thank you in advance,
    Mykolas

There's actually quite a few differences between (Interactive) and (Print).
Here's a list of pointers written by Michael Ninness (previous product manager of InDesign and now working at Lynda.com) http://www.lynda.com/michaelninness
I just got premission from him to post this (Thanks Michael!):
Here is some info for you regarding what choices are being made under the hood when you choose File > Export > Adobe PDF (Interactive).
Things that just happen or are included, with no choice in the dialog box:
Hyperlinks, Bookmarks, Fast Web view, Compress Text and Line Art, Crop Image Data to Frames.
Things that are not included, with no choice in the dialog box:
Visible Guides/Grids, Hidden and Non-Printing Layers, Hidden and Non-Printing Objects, Marks & Bleeds, No Ink Manager or Simulate Overprint options.
    Things that you can choose:
Security Settings, Embed Page Thumbnails, Create Tagged PDF, Create Acrobat Layers, Initial View, Initial Layout, Open in Full Screen Mode, Page Transitions, Image compression and resolution.
    Other:
    Fonts: Subset 100%
    Color Conversion: Destination
    Destination: sRGB
Profile Inclusion Policy: Include Destination Profile
    Transparency Flattener: No Flattening
And lastly, Compatibility is set to Acrobat 9 (PDF 1.7). This last point is important, and largely explains the main reason we split Interactive PDF out as a separate export choice from Print PDF. When you export an interactive PDF from CS5, included media is now written out to the Rich Media Annotation Layer, which means this content is played back via the embedded Flash Player within Acrobat Pro 9 or Adobe Reader 9 or higher. In previous versions, this content was written out to the Screen Annotation Layer, which meant this content was played back via QuickTime. This has been a long-standing headache for end users as playback across platforms was often inconsistent, would frequently break when Apple updated QuickTime, etc.
Lastly, if you want to include rich media in your interactive PDFs (SWFs, audio and video), the only formats supported if you want to target Adobe PDF (Interactive) are MP3 for audio and FLV for video. Other file formats will need to be converted to these formats before you export to Interactive PDF. For video files, you’ll be able to convert to FLV with Adobe Media Encoder. For audio files, you can use any number for free audio conversion tools, including iTunes.

  • Difference between MIDP1.0 and MIDP2.0

    Hi ,
I want to know the difference between MIDP1.0 and MIDP2.0.
Can any one give the clear idea about this.
    Thanks,
    D.Mahendhar Singh

The biggest two differences are the Game API (javax.microedition.lcdui.game package) that gives support for full screen apps, sprites, and tile engines; and the CustomItem class that lets you create your own items that can be appended to Forms.
There are other differences (like the ability to access the pixels in an image), the push registry, etc.
If you download the Wireless Toolkit (2.0 or higher) and look at the API documentation you will notice that in several places there is a "Since: MIDP 2.0" added at the bottom of method and field descriptions. Those are the differences basically.

  • What is difference between sy-tabix and sy-index.

    SAP Seniors,
Can you please let me know what is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix.
I read the SAP help, it is confusing for me. it looks like both are same from help. please help me.
    Thank you
    Anitha.

    HI,
Here is a brief description of difference between SY_TABIX and SY_INDEX and using them with several conditions.
    SY-TABIX
Current line of an internal table. SY-TABIX is set by the statements below, but only for index tables. The field is either not set or is set to 0 for hashed tables.
APPEND sets SY-TABIX to the index of the last line of the table, that is, it contains the overall number of entries in the table.
COLLECT sets SY-TABIX to the index of the existing or inserted line in the table. If the table has the type HASHED TABLE, SY-TABIX is set to 0.
LOOP AT sets SY-TABIX to the index of the current line at the beginning of each loop lass. At the end of the loop, SY-TABIX is reset to the value that it had before entering the loop. It is set to 0 if the table has the type HASHED TABLE.
READ TABLE sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line read. If you use a binary search, and the system does not find a line, SY-TABIX contains the total number of lines, or one more than the total number of lines. SY-INDEX is undefined if a linear search fails to return an entry.
SEARCH <itab> FOR sets SY-TABIX to the index of the table line in which the search string is found.
    SY-INDEX
In a DO or WHILE loop, SY-INDEX contains the number of loop passes including the current pass.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Pavan.

  • What is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix and where both are using ?

what is difference between sy-index and sy-tabix and where both are using ?

    hi nagaraju
sy-tabix is in Internal table, current line index. So it can only be used while looping at the internal table.
sy-index is in Loops, number of current pass. This you can use in other loop statements also (like do-enddo loop, while-endwhile)
    SY-INDEX is a counter for following loops: do...enddo, while..endwhile
SY-TABIX is a counter for LOOP...ENDLOOP, READ TABLE...
Here is an example from which you can understand the difference between sy-tabix and sy-index.
Itab is an internal table with the following data in it.
    id Name
    198 XYZ
    475 ABC
    545 PQR.
loop at itab where id > 300.
    write :/ itab-id, itab-name , sy-tabix, sy-index.
    endloop.
    My output will be :
    475 ABC 2 1
    545 PQR 3 2
Sy-tabix is the index of the record in internal table.
sy-index gives the no of times of loop passes.
So, for the first record in the output (475 ABC), 2 is the index of the record in internal table and as it is first time loop pass occured, sy-index value is 1.

  • The difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers

Does anyone know what is the difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers? I can not find anywhere on Google. Also in the tutorials I have seen, suggesting DVD Studio Pro markers, but it did not mention the chapter markers.
    Thanks,

"Adding Chapter and Compression Markers to Your Sequence
Once you have your edited sequence or program finished, you can add markers to the sequence for use on DVD. Markers are reference points you can place within clips or sequences that identify specific frames. There are two kinds of markers you can add that directly relate to authoring a DVD—chapter markers and compression markers.
    • Chapter markers allow DVD authoring applications to create a navigable chapter list for your exported QuickTime movie. Chapter markers force MPEG keyframes (known as I-frames) at their location, since the DVD specification requires an I-frame at each chapter point.
    • Compression markers identify areas of abrupt change and include two types: those that are automatically inserted by Final Cut Pro at all edit points, and those you manually place in the clip or sequence. Like chapter markers, compression markers force I-frames at their location, although in this case it is for better quality encoding, and they are not used to create a chapter list.
Note: When you export a QuickTime movie, you have an option to export various kinds of markers, including compression, chapter, or DVD Studio Pro markers. *When you choose to export DVD Studio Pro markers, Final Cut Pro actually exports chapter markers and all compression markers.* This includes compression markers you set manually, as well as ones created automatically by Final Cut Pro at edit and transition points."
From the Final Cut Pro User Manual.

  • The difference between an iphone and an ipod touch?

i want to know if the difference between an iphone and an ipod touch is just that the iphone is like a phone that has internet and is a phone. or what else is it?

The iPhone includes the same as an iPod Touch but also includes a phone, a camera, and a GPS radio.
In addition to having internet access via wi-fi, the iPhone also has internet access via the cellular network, so as long as you have cellular reception with the iPhone, you have access to the internet in addition to having access via an available wi-fi network.

  • The difference between system restore and last good known configuration

    hi,
what is the difference between system restore  and last good known configuration.
in which situation you use system restore ,and in which situation you use last good known configuration.
very short answer wil be enough.
    thanks
    johan
    h.david

Last Known Good Configuration deals only with Starting Windows eg. a bad registry or incorrect driver is preventing Windows to start. It recovers the registry settings of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet
While System Restore uses restore points to return your system files and settings to an earlier point in time without affecting personal files. Restore points are created automatically every week, and just before significant system events, such as the installation
of a program or device driver. You can also create a restore point manually. You can undone system restore but there is no such option in Last Known Good Configuration.
Last Known Good Configuration is disabled in Windows 8 or,Windows 8.1 by default.
Try using Last Known Good Configuration if you can't start Windows, but it started correctly the last time you turned on the computer.
Try using System Restore to return the system to an earlier point in time when things worked correctly.

    difference between sy-datum and sy-datlo

    hi,
The GET TIME statement synchronizes the time on the application server with the time on the database server and writes it to the field SY-UZEIT. SY-DATUM and the system fields for the local timezone (SY-TIMLO, SY-DATLO, and SY-ZONLO) are also reset.

  • What is the difference between Topic Keywords and Index File Keywords?

What is the difference between Topic Keywords and Index File Keywords? Any advantages to using one over the other? Do they appear differently in the generated index?
    RH9.0.2.271
    I'm using Webhelp

    Hi there
When you create a RoboHelp project you end up with many different ancillary files that are used to store different bits of information. Many of these files bear the name you assigned to the project at the time you created it. The index file has the project name and it ends with a .HHK file extension. (HHK meaning HTML Help Keywords)
Generally, unless you change RoboHelp's settings, you add keywords to this file and associate topics to the keywords via the Index pod. At the time you compile a CHM or generate other types of output, the file is consulted and the index is built.
As I said earlier, the default is to add keywords to the Index file until you configure RoboHelp to add the keywords to the topics themselves. Once you change this, any keyword added will become a META tag in the topic code. If your keyword is BOFFO, the META tag would look like this:
    <meta name="MS-HKWD" content="BOFFO" />
When the help is compiled or generated, the Index (.HHK) file is consulted as normal, but any topics containing keywords added in this manner are also added to the Index you end up with. From the appearance perspective, the end user woudn't know the difference or be able to tell. Heck, if all you ever did was interact with the Index pod, you, as an author wouldn't know either. Well, other than the fact that the icons appear differently.
Operationally, keywords added to the topics themselves may hold an advantage in that if you were to import these topics into other projects, the Index keywords would already be present.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick
