Differences between CTI OS Server and CTI Server ?

Hello community,
I've been working with CTI Desktop for a while but I'm not clear about the differences between CTI OS Server and CTI Server?
If you go to http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_CCE_Software_Compatibility_Matrix_for_8.5(x) and read note 10, they make diffrences between both products.
Thanks in advance,
Alejandro

CTI Server was the original CTI interface into ICM.  It uses a network communication protocol, GED-188 I believe, for communication between the client and server.  This is relatively difficult to program against.  CTIOS and it's related SDKs were developed to provide an easier method of developing desktops and integrating desktop applications.  CTI Server communicates with ICM, CTIOS Server communicates with CTI Server, and desktop applications using the various SDKs communicate with CTIOS Server.  Cisco may be looking to get away from CTIOS Server in the future because of their decision to integrate Finesse with CTI Server rather than CTIOS Server.  Hope that helps.

  • Difference between Oracle BPEL PM and SOA server suite

    Dear Experts,
Right now I am having JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 & Oracle BPEL PM Server 10.1.3.1 with me. Is that two enough to build Business Rules Engine with BPEL process & Human Task Also I having very big question that
Oracle BPEL PM Server and SOA server suite are same or different.
Bcoz, right now I'm have installed only Oracle BPEL PM server.. I didn't see or have SOA server suite.
    http://localhost:9700/BPEL/console --------> BPEL console
http://localhost:9700/em ---------> BPEL Enterprise Manager or SOA Enterprise Manager
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
1--> Right now I am having JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 & Oracle BPEL PM Server 10.1.3.1 with me. Is that two enough to build Business Rules Engine with BPEL process & Human Task.
No, Oracle Business Rules is part of Application Server and as such is installed with SOA Suite. Though with your current Jdev and BPEL PM you can build BPEL Process with Human Task.
2--> Oracle BPEL PM Server and SOA server suite are same or different.
Oracle SOA Suite is a set of tools ( BPEL PM, Oracle Service Bus, Business Rules, CEP, BAM, Oracle Web Services Manager and Jdeveloper).
Oracle BPEL PM is just a component for Orchestration of WebServices.
    thanks

  • Difference between NAC profiler/collector and NAC server

    Hi,
could anyone tell me the difference between NAC collector and NAC server?
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards.
    Giuseppe

Sorry edunn, but your description of the NAC Collector is not particularly helpful. If I may:
The NAC Profiler/collector is OEM'd from Great Bay Software. It performs automatic whitelisting of agentless devices, like IP phones and PBXs, printers, etc. In a NAC deployment without the profiler you'd have to go in to the NAC Server and manually enter the MAC addresses and/or IP addresses of devices that should bypass authentication and/or posture assessment. In a small environment that's not a big deal, but with multiple offices and/or subnets (with lots of phones or printers) this can be a hassle. Its also a big risk: If I know you're whitelisting by mac/IP I'll just go to a printer, print out its config page, set my NIC to have the same settings, and boom - I've just bypassed your $$ NAC solution, thankyouverymuch.
The nice thing about the NAC profiler is that its -not- static: every time a switchport goes up/down, or a new MAC address is detected, an SNMP trap gets sent to the profiler. You can also forward (via ip-helper) all DHCP requests to the profiler (it doesn't respond or issue an IP address, of course, but it does look at what options you requested.) It will look at the MAC vendor address, IP address, DHCP options, network traffic (via Netflow), SPAN port traffic, has an open port (eg. 9100 or 515 for printing) or a combination of the above, and dynamically whitelist agentless devices based on confidence level.
Its sort of like a reverse Turing test: if a device says its 'dumb' (no agent) AND acts the way its supposed to, it gets whitelisted. But if the Profiler starts seeing a supposed printer surf the Internet (or start receiving traffic on a port it should, or whatever), then it dynamically removes it from the whitelist, and now it will need to authenticate and pass posture.
You can define different profile groups and what parameters are required for each, and set which groups get whitelisted.
So basically the NAC Server is the gatekeeper, the NAC Manager is the global policy manager, and the NAC Profiler is the automatic whitelister.

  • Difference between ALBPM6.0 studio and ALBPM6.0 Enterprise server

Difference between ALBPM6.0 studio and ALBPM6.0 Enterprise server. Can anyone help on this.
    Thanks in advance.

Studio is the integrated development and test environment. As such, it's intended for designing processes, creating the UI for the screenflows, creating the objects and introspecting services that you want to tie into the process. Studio has a runtime engine that can be used by a single developer for testing purposes. It runs a little database called Derby and a Tomcat Web Server - again so the work done by a single developer can be tested on the developer's machine at runtime.
Enterprise on the other hand is the production environment. Unlike Studio, it does not have the capability to develop projects. It is the runtime environment where many end users can concurrently run their instances on an industrial strength engine. It can run on a standalone JVM or an application server.
Studio is for development. Enterprise if for Dev/QA/production environments where many users need to hit the engine and many instances need to run concurrently.

  • Differences between Weblogic Server and Weblogic Server Suite?

    Hi
What is the differences between Weblogic Server and Weblogic Server Suite, beside licens costs?
    Regards
    /Martin

WebLogic server standard edition, you get the WebLogic with no clustering.
Clustering is available in the WebLogic Enterprise Edition.
The WebLogic Suite also gives you Coherence and JRockit real-time
A desciption of the various products can be found here: http://www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/application-server/index.html

Can it be that you are a little bit arrogant ?
Why you don't simply use that little text field on the left side of this page or use a search engine ?
    One example:

  • Diff. between content server and archive server(SARA on content server)

I am very interested about difference between content server and archive server. Is there content server supplied by SAP and archive server by third party producers or something else?
If so dditionally what needs to be done to archive data (via Sara) on content server. I did it on sap R/3 4.0 on an archive server. Is it huge difference to do it on 4.7x2 on content server?

    Hey,
The content server is used to save documents,
and SARA (and other third party producers) are used to archive old data.
    For example:
You should use Content server - When you need to save un-structured data about worker (e.g: pictures, documents and etc) .
You should use SARA (and other third parties) - When you need to move to archive old
worker which have left your organization before 5 or more years (there for they are not relevant for you)
Here is some more information about Content server
    from help.sap.com:
"Therefore, besides the SAP database, an external content server is always available in every SAP system installation. In this way, the necessary technical infrastructure is provided for all document-centric applications and business scenarios that do not require a long-term archiving solution"
Here is some more information about SARA and archiving
    from help.sap.com:
"Data Archiving removes from the database application data from closed business transactions that are no longer relevant for the operational business. The archived data is stored in archive files that can be accessed by the system in read-only mode."

  • What is diff between oracle application server and weblogic server?

what is the exact difference between oracle application server and weblogic application server?

The difference between Oracle Application Server AND WebLogic Server has been discussed in a lot of forums dated 2008 and earlier comparing OAS10g with WebLogic10.0/WebLogic9.2
But, now since Oracle has taken over WebLogic, this is not really important.
Now, OAS has no further releases post 10g. WebLogic Server will be the Oracle's strategic application server going forward.
So, if your query is for choosing one of them for a new environment, you are better of with WebLogic Server 10.3.6 OR WebLogic Server 12g
As we will not have further releases of OAS and also OAS10g will be end of life soon, we recommend Oracle WebLogic Server.
If you still want to know the differences, here is one such old oracle documentation link that talks about it

  • Different between shared server and dedicated server

could you explain difference between shared server and dedicated server.

Oracle has two modes, a shared server mode and a dedicated server mode. In dedicated server mode (the default), the Oracle server creates one process per connection.
This quickly limits the number of connections the Oracle Server can support due to the following:
1.There is an OS limit on how many processes/file descriptors can be supported
2.Oracle has an internal PROCESSES parameter that prevents it from launching more than the specified number of processes.
When it is anticipated that these limits may be exceeded, which frequently happens for 50-100 concurrent connections, you should either configure Oracle in shared server mode or increase the limits above, so that many concurrent connections can be supported by each Oracle process. Oracle states that running in shared server mode is slightly slower than in dedicated server mode.

I am trying to create the Content Repository using the Tx- OAC0, given the the following details as
    Content Repository name--- DMS_xxxx
    Document Area - DMS
Storage Type -- HTTP Content Server
    Version -0046
HTTP Server --- fully qualified host name of the Content Server
    Port Number --- 1090

not available, thought it will create, even created later
Physical archive path --- SAME as  Physical Basic Path

When I check Tx- CSADMIN-- it gives an error saying the "HTTP error : 4010 (authorized) ' Permission denied: adminContRep&configSet"
I am not sure what user should i use for this and what should be  the information of ContentStorageHost, ContentStorageName and Storage need to be provided.
