Differences between iOS and computer views  of a course?

So this year not all of my students will have iPads so anything in my course has to be accessable via a computer/itunes connection. I have created my course, completed the profile, written my outline and started adding "materials" and posts. The course has been published and shows up under our school.
Any .pdf's I add to documents/materials or post as an assignment show up on both the ios devices and computers/itunes/itunesu.
Any .jpgs I add to materials/images or post as an assignment show up on the ios device but show as "ios only" on the computer/itunes/itunes u view.
When I  "Add Post" then add to the "Message" field, it is pushed to  the ios devices and shows up as a message, it shows up under the course on the ios devices but never shows up on the computer/itunes feed.
Is there a list of what you can put into your course that will show up on both ios devices and computer/itunes connections?  Will .mp3's, .mp4's work? or will they do the same as .jpg's?

Hi,
I just posted a response to another question regarding iTunes U on a PC or Mac. Although it doesn't completely answer your question, this part of the response from Course Manager Support does address it:
If you were to make a publicly available Collection on iTunes U, students could download or view many course materials such as lectures and podcasts. But to maximize the full functionality of a course, such as subscribing, reading posts, and viewing assignments, the iTunes U app on an iOS device is currently a requirement.
It may be worth it to ask support to see if there is a more comprehensive list of the differences. Please post what you find out here.
Thanks,
Ken

-the user_sy_privs shows the system privileges the current user is really using during its session
-the session_privs view shows the system privileges the current user can use during its session(he does not use them obligatory)

  • Difference between dbms_stats and COMPUTE STATISTICS

    Hello everyone,
Can anyone tell me what is the difference between:
    dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(
        ownname => 'me',
        tabname => 'ORGANISATIONS',
        estimate_percent => dbms_stats.auto_sample_size
      );and
ANALYZE TABLE ORGANISATIONS COMPUTE STATISTICS;I guess both method are valid to compute statistics, but when I run the first method, the num_rows in USER_TABLES is wrong.
But when I execute the second method, I get the correct num_rows.
So, what is exactly the difference and which one is best?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
It's not recommended to use ANALYZE statement to collect Optimizer statistics. So you should use DBMS_STATS.
Else, about the number of rows, as you used an Estimate method, you may have a number of row which is not accurate.
What is the result if you choose this:
    estimate_percent => NULL
    NB: Here, NULL means COMPUTE.

  • Version differences between mobile and computer with forced upgrades of $10 plus $20 dollars?

Currently running Numbers v2.3 on Laptop.  Recently purchased the latest Numbers mobile app for my iphone for $10 such that I can sync to iCloud both ways.  So, I created a spreadsheet on my computer and shared to iCloud.  I then edited the spreadsheet from the Numbers mobile app and saved that to iCloud.  When attempting to open the spreadsheet at a later time from my computer, Numbers will not allow me to open and instead forces me to upgrade the application to view it for an additional $20.
I'm in disbelief that this is the case but cannot find anything else preventing me from opening the spreadsheet.  I'd like to have someone confirm that this is the policy that Apple has set forth?

  • Performance difference between tables and materialized views

    hi ,
I created a materialized view on a query that involves partition table in it.
When i used the same query and created a table out of it <create table xyz as select * from (the query)> ,the table got created quickly.
So does that mean performance wise creating table is faster than creating/refreshing the materialized view ?or is that due to the refresh method i use ?Currently i use a complete refresh

I created a materialized view on a query that involves partition table in it.

So does that mean performance wise creating table is faster than creating/refreshing the materialized view ?or is that due to the refresh method i use ?Currently i use a complete refresh Well, for starters, if you created the materialized view first and then the standard table, the data for the second one has already been fetched recently and so will reduce your I/O due to caching, and will therefore be quicker. There are also other factors such as the materialized view creating other internal bits that are required to allow for refreshes to be done quickly, such as the primary key etc which you haven't created on your second creation.
What you have shown is that two completely different statements running at different times, appear to operate with different speed. It is not a comparison of whether the materialized view is slower or quicker than the create table statement.

  • Is there any difference between 10g and 11g M Views?

    Hi,
I need to give a demo on and working examples of materialized views. The requirement is this: Master tables are in a 10g R2 DB, MV is in a 11g.
I just create a DB Link in 11g to point to the 10g DB and then create the MV in 11g.
Will there be any problems creating a 11g MV using 10 Master tables?
My question is are there any significant differences between 10g and 11g MViews??
    Thanks & Regards,
    Channa.

You have to be careful about your versions. 10g could be 10.1 or 10.2 11g could be 11.1 or 11.2
    I wouldn't have an 11.2 database with a database link against a 10.1 database.
In fact, even with 10.2, I would try to ensure that I have a "high patchset" (10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5) although, in theory, 10.2.0.1 should also work.

  • What is the difference between 'workbookk' and ' view'?

    Hi all,
What is the difference between 'workbook' and 'view'. I check some document but I don't see there is big difference.
    Thanks.
    J.

    hi John,
We use workbooks for excel formating, like font changes, lay out changes etc...
Workbooks into which queries are inserted are no different in appearance than other Excel workbooks.
They can be saved as files, copied, sent and (using Excel functions) edited however you like and even supplemented with other data.
Views are primarily used for BW Web Reports, it is similar to the concept of workbooks is for BEx.A local view can be accessed only within a workbook in which it was saved, where as a global view can be accessed globally in the system, it is not attached to a workbook. Only Global view can be used in BW Web Templates.

  • What's the difference between photos and albums

I'm trying to figure out what the difference between photos and albums is on my ipad 'photos' programme.
What I'm really trying to do is to delete photos from my phone so that I'm not going over 5GB on my icloud and I don't want to lose them, so I'm checking to see where they are stored on ipad.

    Hello julian
As far as what iCloud backs up, it is backing up the photos and videos in the Camera Roll. If you want to ensure that your pictures are backed up, then follow the steps in the last article to import them to your computer. One thing to note is that you cannot import your albums that you create. If those photos are not in your camera roll, import the photos to your camera roll.

  • Can anybody give me the difference between Catt and Ecatt

    Hi gurus,
Can any body give me the difference between catt and ecatt.

    Hi,
I think this is new technology in sap.
I know little bit of this can u go through this.
eCATT (extended Computer Aided Test Tool)
    What is eCATT?
eCATT is an SAP Testing Tool used to automate & test business scenarios in R/3. Each test generates a detailed log that documents the test process and results. If the testing is smooth without any errors, this means that the business scenarios mapped in R/3 are correct. If the test results in error then the problem can be analyzed using the error log that is generated.
eCATT enables automatic testing in SAP GUI for Windows and SAP GUI for Java.
    Features of eCATT:
Following functions can be performed using eCATT:
    Test transactions, reports and scenarios.
    Call BAPIs and function modules.
    Test remote systems.
    Check authorizations (user profiles).
    Test updates (database, applications, GUI).
    Set up customizing tables.
Test the effect of changes to customizing settings.
    Perform load testing.
    Check system messages.
Integrated with Test Workbench, so allows proper management of scripts using SCAT transaction.
    Supports CATT migration to eCATT.
All eCATT Objects are Repository Objects. Therefore one can take advantage of Standard SAP Transport Tools.
eCATT Objects can easily download & upload in XML with XSD format.
There can be several versions of Test Scripts, which allows different implementations with different releases.
The separation of Test Scripts, Test Data & System Data allows for a considerable degree of reuse.
    Why eCATT?
CATT is no longer supported by SAP for the creation of new developments. Hence all the test scripts developed in CATT are now need to migrate/Update to eCATT. Comparative to manual testing, the following are advantages of using eCATT:
Due to automation, testing time is reduced to a large extent.
Due to automation, less manpower is required for testing. This helps financially.
Due to automation, manual errors are reduced to large extent. Hence results in error free testing. This helps, as no further problems will occur while the usage of R/3 system by end users and hence increases the efficiency.
Proved to be extremely useful in implementation projects.
In regression testing, automated test scripts are an ideal method of quickly detecting errors. Automatic test logs make it easy to reproduce test results, enabling fast analysis and planning of further activities, leading to cost savings for the customer.
    Differences between CATT and eCATT?
Till date, CATT could only be used with the R/3 system. eCATT (which is available with SAP Web Application Server 6.20) covers the automatic testing in SAPGUI for Windows and SAP GUI for Java. For other GUIs and Applications, eCATT provides an interface for external tools. This allows companies to perform automated tests from an SAP system in a complete IT solution landscape across system boundaries. These new options enable complete automation of solution landscapes under standard Windows and Web-based user interfaces- resulting in low-cost operation of an IT Solution.
eCATT (extended Computer Aided Test Tool)
    eCATT requisites
Web Application Server (WAS) 6.20 or more.
    SAPGUI 6.20 or more.
R/3 4.6C or more. (Target system must have sufficient support package level (Details available in SAP Note 519858) or SAP R/3 Enterprise Release 4.7).
Before creating Test Scripts using eCATT, some system settings need to be done:
    Maintain table T000.
    1.      Go to transaction SM31
    2.      Enter T000 and chose MAINTAIN.
    3.      In the Change View “Clients”: Overview screen, select the relevant client and choose “Details”
    4.      In the “CATT and eCATT Restrictions” field, select “CATT and eCATT allowed”.
    5.      Click on SAVE.
    Enabling scripting at the Front-end
    1.      On any SAP GUI screen, choose “Customizing of Local Layout”.
    2.      Choose Options
    3.      Choose “Scripting Tab”
    4.      Select “Enable Scripting”
    5.      Click Apply and then OK.
Enabling Scripting on the Application Server
    1.      Go to transaction RZ11.
    2.      On the Maintain Profile Parameters screen, enter sapgui/user_scripting.
    3.       Choose Display.
    4.      If the Current Value is not set to TRUE, then click on Change Value:
    5.      Enter TRUE in the “New Value”.
    6.      Click on SAVE.

Is there a difference between AirPrint and printing via usb printer plugged into an AirPort Exreme?
    Big difference.
AirPrint for one will not work via USB, so you will not be able to print from an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad using this type of connection unless you look at additional software....that may or may not allow this option.
Assuming that you get the All-in-One setup using the USB port on the AirPort.......only printing is supported.
You will not be able to use any other advanced features like maintenance, scan, copy, fax, etc when the device is connected to the USB port on an AirPort.
If you plan to use the HP for other things, I would strongly recommend that you connect it to your computer.
My printer does not show up in the add a printer option on my iMac when plugged into the extreme.
This usually indicates that your printer model is not supported. Check with HP Support to see if they have any updated Macintosh drivers for the 5610 that you could download and install that might allow this.

Both are used for data hiding then what is the exact difference ?This is the picture I have:
When you encapsulate something you get an inside and an outside. The outside is the abstraction. It describes how the encapsulated entity behaves viewed from the outside. This is also called the type. Hidden inside is the implementation. It holds detail information about how the type's behaviour is accomplished.
It's a very simplified picture but I think it's quite accurate and it works for me.
