Differences between MacBook Air MD761D, MD761D/A and MD761D/B?

Hey there,
I just wonder which model I should buy or what the differences in the shops are.
Does someone know what the differences between the numbers
MD761D, MD761D/A and MD761D/B are?
Can't find even these numbers on the official apple website.
Thank you very much!
Matthias

marginal value, indeed.
But some shops and internet sites operate with it instead of all technical specifications. So it's not so easy to understand what they are talking about.
And in some other companies the /B stands for - don't know the English word - products which was sent back from the consumer and you won't know if it is ok or only dirty or have a problem with the quality.
So I try to find out if there is an official meaning vor /B.

  • Difference between Macbook Pro 13 MD101HN/A and Macbook Pro 13 MD102LL/A

    Hello,
I just wanted to know the difference in tech. specifications or any other difference in general for the following Macbook pro 13" models:
    1. Macbook Pro 13 MD101HN/A
    2. Macbook Pro 13 MD101LL/A
    3. Macbook Pro 13 MD102LL/A
As of now, I have come upon these models only. So what is the basic difference? Which is the best?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
All the computers are Mid 2012, and the difference between the first two are that one is designed for India and the other for other countries. They are the same computer but for different markets.
The third one is the high-end 13-inch MacBook Pro, that has got 8 GB of RAM and a 750 GB hard disk. Also, it has got a better processor. This is the one with the best hardware of all the three you mentioned, so if you want more performance, consider this Mac

  • What are the major differences between the air and the pro

what are the major differences between the air and the pro?

In a nutshell, the Air is a lightened, more compact system than the 13" Pro counterpart. The Air loses some hardware features to accommodate the physical downsizing.
    No FireWire port
    No built-in optical drive
A lesser performing CPU to retain battery charge life, and adequate cooling.
    No Ethernet port
    No Kensington lock slot
The Air does have a superior native resolution at 1440 x 900, and a standard SSD that does make up alot of the speed differential, and then some. Of course, the 13" Pro can be optionally configured with an SSD.
You buy the Air if the physical size an weight savings are demonstrably more important than the features lost.

  • Whats's the difference between MacBook Pro 13 and 13.3 ?

This, Whats's the difference between MacBook Pro 13 and 13.3 ?

Firstly, you are not in MacBook Pro forum, so you need to get your bearings.
    2nd check the specs page
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro
Then Bing/Google for reviews, Ars is always good but dozens have done one.
2011 brings Intel Sandy Bridge processor boards, Thunderbolt, SATA3 (6G) along with options for SSD and much more RAM (can save buying RAM and doing the upgrade yourself)

  • Can you give me some ideas on which to buy between macbook air and macbook pro?

I am going to start another year in college very soon and I need a laptop to handle my school work or projects. I don't know what to choose between Macbook Air 13" (2013) and Macbook Pro 13" (RAM 8GB - Not Retina Display). Here are what I need to do on computer:
         - Long time surfing through the internet.
         - Social network : Facebook, Instagram, Line, Skype ....
         - Watching movies online (mayb more than 3-4 hours)
         - Typing documents or making slide shows.
         - A lot of documents, HD videos/movies, photos and music.
         - Using some graphic/plan design programs such as CorelDraw, Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCad and so on. (Monthly but I still have to use it.)
         - Games are no needed cuz m not a gamer.
That's all or maybe more, but I can't think of right now. My money is around 1500$. If you guys think I might need Air, should I configure it to match my expectations? I hope to having some good ideas from you. Thanks in advanced.

Ive got BOTH the Pro and AIr youre interested in, for what YOU say you want, Id get the Air.
Since you said you were only going to "some graphic/plan design programs", the Air is perfect for moderate Photo editing.
    and you said no games.
Air has fewer parts, only one moving part (the fan), lite as an Ipad (almost) but a full powered computer.
No HD heads to crash, fewer parts = simplicity = less to fault.
Runs cooler than anything else out there (which = durability).  Heat is a killer on a scale of 10X over that of accidents.
Pack around a regular notebook around about 20 days, then an Air, .....after that the standard laptops stays at home.
Air is the only Mac that has Haswell, 802ac wifi, and incredible 12hr. batt life in 13" I5.
Get the 13" much longer battery life, and the screen real estate is better, Ive owned both 11" and 13".     13" also has an SD card slot the 11" doesnt have.

  • What is the difference between Ipad Air with code MD787B/A and MD787FD/A??

Hi - what is the difference between Ipad Air with the code MD787B/A and MD787FD/A ??

You can see the model number in Settings>General>About>Model. The model number has a two-letter code, a number and some more letters. The last part stands for the country/region. The first letter can be "F" (refurbished), "M" (normal retail), or "P" (personalized / engraved). For example MC605B is the model MC605 and B is for the region.
What country does my device belong to?

No difference other than one is for the Russian market. Specs on both are the same, standard Apple Store issue versions.
Of course the screen choice of anti-glare, glossy, high res or low res is not included.
The default is likely the cheap glossy and low res.

The first model was originally sold in the UK or Ireland, while the second came from a different country, probably one in the Middle East. They're operationally identical.

  • What is the difference between MacBook pro 2011 and 2012

What is the difference between MacBook pro 2011 and 2012

understanding that at the time of the question, there has not been any Macbook Pro 2012, now it is later and there is.
    The difference is:
-CPU being used (2011 models: Sandy Bridge, 2012 models: Ivy Bridge)
    -Graphics (2011: intel 3000 + on 15"/17" ATI, 2012: intel 4000 + on 5"/17" nvidia Geforce 650M)
    -USB (2011: USB2.0 only, 2012: USB3.0)
    -Bluetooth (2011. 2.1 + EDR, 2012: 4.0)
Ivy Bridge CPUs are smaller and are a little bit more energy-efficient.
Other than that, currently the devices are not much different in respect to performance (Apple's graphics driver performance is known to increase during upgrades, though, so the performance gap may widen up)

actually i am new to mac so i am confused between macbook air 13 inch and i mac. which one should i buy? i will be installing windows 2 on it..

An MBA is a portable while an iMac is a desktop and is not portable. You could install Windows on either provided each had sufficient memory installed and a large enough hard drive. The iMac is better equipped for this from the outset, but the MBA can be adequately configured if you are willing to spend the money to do so.

  • Sharing content between macbook air and imac

    Hi there,
I appreciate this is a naiive question but i want to share content from my imac to my macbook air (music and photos not on my stream). Everything (calendars etc.) is all synched up using the cloud but can I simply connect my macbook air to my imac and drag away?
    That seems too simple!

If you want to share just a few gigabyte of data and aren't concerned about putting stuff in the cloud, consider DropBox. Or....
    1) Open System Preferences on both computers & select the Sharing tab
    2) In the left side of the dialog box there's a list of sharing services. Turn on File Sharing (I also use Screen Sharing which lets me control one Mac with the other. Convenient at times) In the top give each computer a meaningful name if you haven't already.
    3) Give the computer a minute or two and then from one computer (doesn't matter which) open a Finder window and look under the shared are of the sidebar. (You may need to turn on the shared devices in the Finder preferences)
    4) in the dialog box enter the user name and password for the computer you are trying to share not the computer you are logging in from.
    5) you'll get a window of your user directory and from there you can find the data you want to copy onto your computer. You can also copy data from the computer you are using onto the computer you are sharing.

  • Difference between mackbook air & mackbook pro

Can anybody tell me the difference, so i could make a decision?

The NEW macbook Pro and Air are EXTREMELY close in form factor
The newest macbook Pro is essentially a larger macbook Air with Retina display and options for speed in increasing prices up to an independent graphics and quad core processor.
both Air and new Pro now have PCIe SSD and permanent RAM.
The Air is the lightweight portable form factor, fast to boot and shut down, but with longer battery life than any of the macbook pro in 13"
Now the new macbook Pro and macbook Air are extremely close in form factor and nature.
    both have 802ac wifi
both have permanent RAM, no superdrive
both are slim profiles and SSD
The only real differences now between Air and Pro....are (in the most expensive Pros) faster processors and quadcore processors and top end model autonomous graphics and the Pro has HDMI output.....and of course the retina display
both are now "very good for travel"
Other than features the form factor of the Air and Pro are VERY close now,....so now its merely a matter of features and price more than anything.
You need an external HD regardless of what you get for backups etc.   Drop into an Apple store and handle both and make your choice based on features, such as Retina or non-retina, .... both at a distance now look like the same computer.
The Pro weighs more, ....but nowhere near what it used to just a month ago on the older macbook Pros
The NEW macbook Pro is a different creature entirely than the older macbook Pro, .....the new Pro is thicker than the Air, but id frankly call the NEWEST Pro a "macbook Air with Retina display" , or
Maybe a “macbook Air PRO with Retina display”
Instead of Air VS Pro now,.....its really a smooth transition from Air to pro without comparing say, 2 different creatures, now its like contrasting a horse from a race horse.
Either one in 8gig of RAM (preferably)... the 4gig upgrade costs very little,  the I7 you will notice only 15% faster on heavy applications over the I5, and NOTHING on most APPS.....I5 has longer battery life.
As you see below, the non-Retina 13" AIR is 82% of the Macbook with Retina display in resolution
there is no magical number of pixels per inch that automatically equates to Retina quality.
    http://www.cultofmac.com/168509/why-you-might-be-disappointed-by-the-resolution- of-those-new-retina-display-macs-feature/
A huge internal SSD isnt a game changer for anything, you need an external HD anyway
what you WONT READ on Apple.com etc. is that the larger SSD  are MUCH FASTER due to SSD density
"The 512GB Samsung SSD found in our 13-inch model offers roughly a 400MB/s increase in write speeds over the 128GB SanDisk/Marvell SSD"

After some advice, I am new to Apple and looking to purchase either the MacBook Air 13inch with 256GB and 8GB mem or the MacBook Pro 13inch with retina 256Gb and 8GB mem. I am an assistant principal in a primary school and also studying my masters at university. I don't play computer games and I don't watch movies. I do store photos and videos of my kids and music on iTunes. I also like browsing the net with numerous windows open, check email etc. I am really wanting long battery life as I do a lot of my work on the couch - not close to a PowerPoint. Would the air do the trick or will it soon be outdated as Apple move towards retina display? Both air and pro seem very thin  - almost the same? And not much difference in weight either so both very portable which is also a necessary requirement. Just can't help dreaming about that 12 hour claimed battery life. Any helpful advice/opinions, very much appreciated. Thanks

It's not likely that you'll get 12 hours in reql life. Those benchmarks are set under very strict controlled conditions. Kind of like mileage per gallon claims on cars. If 16GB of ram is an option at all I'd highly recommend you get that. As far as storage 256GB isn't alot, consider storing some things on an external thunderbolt real
