  • What is the difference between mySAP2004 and SAP ERP 2004?

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me what is the difference between mySAP2004 and SAP ERP 2004?
If someone has the document, then please mail me at [email protected]
    With Regards
    tiffny

    Hi Tiffny,
actually I don't see a difference as "mySAP2004" is not an official name for anything
There is "mySAP ERP 2004" which is the marketing name for a bunch of functionality provided by several different bits of software components.

I really want to know if these functions (or) similar functions are supported/availabe in MySQL.

What's so hard about finding a "best linux distro for installing Oracle11g"? The supported distros are listed in the fine Installation Guide for Linux. At the top of the list is Oracle's own Oracle Linux, which is in the same family as Red Hat.
so i am planning to switch to MySQL. Please help, Thanks in advance.

  • What is the difference between ERP2004 and SAP 47 Enterprise?

Currently we have SAP 47 Enterprise with WAS 6.2. I understand ERP2004 is NW and 6.4 sp9. Can any one please let me know the major difference between ERP2004 and SAP 4.7 Enterprise ( more from abap / workflow view)?
    Thanks
    Swamy

From Abap point of view some of the major add-on in erp2004,netwever :
    1) Development of webdynpro studio for java development for portal and iviews.
    2) Major abap development uses <b>Abap object oriented</b> methodology, rathet hten old conventional Abap,i.e MVC model (Model,View,Controller) where in it uses concept of classes, interfaces, etc.
    3) Advanced BSP tech using MVC model to develop web based modules
    4) It is closesly integrated with web-based CRM and BW/APO

  • What are the Basic Differences between Oracle and  MS-SQL server Database?

    Hello,
anybody pls Guide me about the Differences between Oracle and MS-SQL server Database.and also IBM Databases also
    Regards,
    Balaram

SQL Server only works on Windows-based platforms, including Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows CE.
In comparison with SQL Server , OracleDatabase supports all known platforms, including Windows-based platforms, AIX-Based Systems, Compaq Tru64 UNIX, HP 9000 Series HP-UX, Linux Intel, Sun Solaris and so on.
    The SQL Server  advantages:
SQL Server  holds the top TPC-C performance and price/performance results.
SQL Server  is generally accepted as easier to install, use and manage.
    The Oracle  Database advantages:
Oracle  Database supports all known platforms, not only the Windows-based platforms.
PL/SQL is more powerful language than T-SQL.
More fine-tuning to the configuration can be done via start-up parameters.

  • What are the differences between Oracle and other NoSQL database

    Hi all,
I would like to know what the differences between Oracle and other NoSQL database are.
When and why should we use Oracle?
Is Oracle NoSQL database link with Big Data Appliance?
Can we use map-reduce on a single personal computer? How should we install Oracle NoSQL database to use map reduce on a single personal computer?
Do we also have eventual consistency with Oracle NoSQL database? Can we lose data if master node fails?
Are transactions ACID with Oracle NoSQL database? How can we prove it?
    Thanks.

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/nosqldb/overview/index.html
Is Oracle NoSQL database link with Big Data Appliance?Yes, Oracle NoSQL Database will be a component of the Big Data Appliance.
Can we use map-reduce on a single personal computer? How should we install Oracle NoSQL database to use map reduce on a single personal computer?Yes, I believe you can run M/R on a single computer. Consult the various pieces of documentation available on the web. You may run Oracle NoSQL Database on the same computer that you are running M/R on, but it is likely that they will compete for CPU and IO resources and therefore performance may suffer.
Do we also have eventual consistency with Oracle NoSQL database? Yes.
Can we lose data if master node fails? If you run Oracle NoSQL Database with the default (recommended) durability settings, then if the master fails, a new one will be elected and data is not lost.
Are transactions ACID with Oracle NoSQL database? How can we prove it?Yes, each operation is executed in an ACID transaction. The API has the concept of "multi" operations which allow the caller to perform multiple operations on sets of records with the same major key, but different minor keys. Those operations are also performed within a transaction.

  • Difference between oracle and BEA JDBC Drivers

One of our application plan to move from BEA JDBC drives to Oracle drivers.
We use Weblogic 9.2 as application server and Oracle 10g as the database.
    Questions
    =======
    1. What is the basic difference between these drivers and how do we decide which one to use.
    2. What can be the impact of moving to Oracle drives from BEA on the overall application...?
    3. Other than change in the jdbc.datasource.url = jdbc:oracle:thin:@, do we need to take anything else into consideration.
Pls. let me know in case any further details are required.
    Thanks in advance.

"1. What is the basic difference between these drivers and how do we decide which one to use."
They are totally different products made independently by different companies.
"2. What can be the impact of moving to Oracle drives from BEA on the overall application...?"
As long as your application uses standard JDBC APIs, the impacts will be minimized, and
unpredictable, some running faster, some slower... Any bug list for one driver will be
different than for the other. If you use any driver-specific extension APIs, they won't
    be in the other driver.
"3. Other than change in the jdbc.datasource.url = jdbc:oracle:thin:@, do we need to take anything else into consideration."
Also changing the diver/datasource class name, and reviewing any arguments/driver properties.
Property names and functions are usually driver-specific.

  • Hi can some tell me what is the difference between sapr3 and sap business 1

is there any difference between sap business one and sap r3 if i learn sd module

    Hi Siva,
The SD module from R/3 is completely unrelated to the business processes and technologies used in SAP Business One (SBO). R/3 and SBO are completely different products and direct comparisons are difficult. I don't think learning one will help in any degree in learning the other. With R/3 you tend to specialise in one area (eg SD) as the complexity and scale of implementations requires this specialisation. With SBO, a single consultant would be expected to know the whole product. SBO is a much simpler product designed for small to medium sized companies so the processes are much more generic.

  • Differences between Oracle and Oracle Rdb.

My background is mainly VMS, and so I have grown up (since 1984) with DEC Rdb (now Oracle Rdb). I am starting to get into Oracle, and therefore, starting to learn the subtle differences. With this in mind could someone educate me as to the default transaction type when using SQLPLUS (using interactive SQL it's READ WRITE). What is the initialization file called for SQLPLUS, and are there equivalents to the logical names SQLINI, SQL$DATABASE, SQL$EDIT, etc.
If there is someone out there with experience of both, may be you could ease my pain by posting your pearls of wisdom, or tips, here to help me along the way.

OK, I'll try a few, having moved from VAX/Rdb to Oracle 10 years ago.
Oracle's default transaction state is read-write, isolation level READ COMITTED. This means you generally don't need to do a "SET TRANSACTION" at the start of a transaction, and certainly don't need to keep doing commit;set transaction to see the latest values.
In read-write transactions Oracle does not lock rows on read to maintain consistency in the way Rdb used to. Usually people use SELECT ... FOR UPDATE, or update directly (without a separate select) rather than using isolation SERIALIZABLE, which is the equivalent of Rdb's default.
A script login.sql is executed at the start of a SQLPLUS session. On Unix, it looks for this in the current directory, and the home directory.
On UNIX, SQL$DATABASE becomes "export TWO_TASK=dbname"
On Windows, SQL$DATABASE becomes "set LOCAL=dbname"
I strongly recommend Tom Kyte's Expert one-on-one Oracle book to help your transition, and his web site asktom.oracle.com
    Good luck, and welcome.

  • Sorting differences between Oracle and SQL Server

    Hello All,
This question is related to both Oracle and SQL Server
I have a requirement where I want to compare 2 tables line by line. One table is in Oracle and other table is in SQL Server
And suppose that both of the tables don't have a primary key. Now when I sort the records using order by clause for a column then -
Rows having null values in that column of Oracle are placed at the bottom.
Where as Rows having null values in the same column of SQL Server are placed right at the top.
How can I make either of them to behave like other.
My sole aim is to have same order of occurrence of rows in both Oracle and SQL Server tables so that I can compare them line by line.

    For example :
    select * from emp order by comm;
So all null value in comm column are at the end.
Now if you wish to get them on the top of select output then :
    SELECT EMPNO,ENAME,JOB,MGR,HIREDATE,SAL,NVL(COMM,0) COMM,DEPTNO FROM EMP ORDER BY COMM;
Means i am using NVL (oracle function) function. If comm column is having null value it will converted to zero value at the time of exectuion of select query.
So, now comm column is having zero value in select output and SQL Server is having nulls at the top. I do'nt know who to make nulls to zero in SQL Server. So issue solved.

Which career is most rewarding one in terms of Salary, Job Security and Least amount of workThat's entirely up to you. No one but you knows what you consider important, what you find interesting, what you find satisfying.

"Which career is most rewarding one in terms of . . . Least amount of work"
"which career will be . . . easy to learn"
Since "easy" and "least work" seem important to you, I'd suggest a career in something besides IT. I could make some specific suggestions but run the risk of insulting people who work in those areas.
