Differences between Premiere Elements 11 and Pro CS6?

Hello,
I would like to know the differences between Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 in relation to video editing. If someone can point me to any resource on the web like a comparision chart of features, differences etc that would be perfect. I understand the Premiere Pro CS6 would have a lot of extra bell and whistles, special effects etc... but what I would like to know if there is a difference in terms of the the quality of the Final Product?
Our needs for a video editor are very simple. We need to create simple titles and text overlay to show the name of the speaker and/or topic. A few times we the audio was not recorded on the video camcera but we do have the audio recorded for the event on a separate audio recorder in .WAV format. So we would like to sync up the video with this audio. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
And in cases where the audio was recorded with video, we would like to increase the gain/volume for the audio or clean up some hum or background noise. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
That is it, we do not need any special effects or animations etc... Please let me know if Adobe Premiere Elements 11 can help us meet our needs. If there is any other software that would be more suitable please advise.
Thank you!

I cannot speak for CS6.  Here are thoughts from a new APE11 user's view:

APE11 provides simplicity and good functionality for this stated need.

If your video and audio contain a clap, you can manually sync by sliding the audio peak along the video.  The audio wave form will be blanked out when sliding, with a frame counter showing how many whole frames you have moved the audio at each moment, so it is a "drag, stop, compare, drag another frame or two, stop, compare" process that works.  (Finer adjustment than whole frames is not possible.)  Once the sync is achieved, select both audio and video track and link them. (The stability of the sync over time will depend on the accuracy of the recorder, and can pose a problem in long recordings. )
increase the gain/volume for the audio or clean up some hum or background noise. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Elements 11?
APE11 allows adjusting the volume levels and also provides level normalization if desired, but more involved audio cleanup such as hiss and hum removal, compression, or auto gain are not available.
Please let me know if Adobe Premiere Elements 11 can help us meet our needs. If there is any other software that would be more suitable please advise.
You should download the APE11 trial to judge for yourself how well it will meet all your needs.

How much difference is there between Premiere Elenebts and Photoshop Elements VII?  Considereing upgrading, but need to know how much time I will have to spend in training?

It’s certainly worth considering the bundle PSE10 & PRE10 which is very favorably priced. The two applications seamlessly integrate. There are some interesting new video features - even for bringing your stills to life.
New color correction tools make it possible to enhance video clips, just like photos.
It’s also possible to burn HD quality movies to both Blu-ray disc and onto standard DVD’s. PRE10 is Adobe’s first consumer package with 64 bit support for enhanced performance (Windows 7 only)
Mac users were first introduced to PRE9 and can now use SmartSound® to add a variety of royalty free music soundtracks that automatically adjust to perfectly match the length of their movies.

  • Difference between WBS element and internal order?

What is the main difference between WBS element number and internal order number?
    Points will be given!

    Hi,
    WBS:
The work breakdown structure (WBS) is a model of the project that organizes project tasks into a hierarchy.
It is the functional basis for further planning steps in a project, for example, for process planning, cost planning, scheduling, capacity planning or costing, as well as project control.
It gives you a clear picture of the project and facilitates the coordination and implementation of the project from a management standpoint.
It shows the work involved in a project.

    Internal order:
Internal orders are normally used to plan, collect, and settle the costs of internal jobs and tasks. The SAP system enables you to monitor your internal orders throughout their entire life-cycle; from initial creation, through the planning and posting of all the actual costs, to the final settlement and archiving:

  • Is there a path for projects between Premiere Elements and Premiere Pro?

As an educator who has been teaching FCP7 for several years, we are preparing to purchase new equipment and most likely go to the Adobe Suite.  However, I want to know if Premiere Elements is functionally similar to Premiere Pro, and if it would be a good option for beginning students prior to moving to Premiere Pro.

    rich experience
Premiere Elements is an excellent program and is in many respects not a second citizen to Premiere Pro.
The principles of the programs are the same. And, although some Premiere Elements features might not be as full as Premiere Pro, they
can get most of the tasks done.
Is this your first experience with an Adobe product in your teaching facilities?
If you have not, please work through or have your IT people work through the program permissions angle on this matter.
Premiere Elements works from a User Account with Administrative Privileges. With volume licensing in a school or company
    environment, this can create problems.
Another consideration is the level of support help to expect from Adobe once you have purchased the product.
At the Premiere Elements level, often you are directed by Adobe to Ask the Community (us, user to user) and in some limited ways Adobe Chat.
I have noted that Premiere Pro support channels are far more "enhanced".
Will someone be looking at the tryout before purchase to assure the compatibility of the product with the computer environment and project goals?

  • I'm trying to understand the difference between Photoshop Elements and Lightroom software.

Does one have things the other does not?

    Hi,
Lightroom is to manage photos and produce derivative images without ever modifying an original file. Its processing functionality has a narrow feature-set covering the most common needs of professional photographers whereas Elements is a simpler yet powerful photo manipulation tool. Elements is designed to satisfy the needs of photo enthusiasts who like to manipulate images.
You can also go through the thread to understand the basic difference between PSE and Lightroom.
    Check if this helps.

  • What is the difference between Ps Elements and CC PS?

  • Difference between Premiere image and export

When I export a sequence from Premiere Pro 5.5 to H.264 or MPEG2 the image is sloightly brighter in Quicktime than Premiere's playback. How can I get them to match? I am using a calibrated Apple monitor, running Lion. I am used to dealing with ICC profiles for stills, printer profiles, etc. It seems that with video, I may not have the same control over output. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

There are three ways of tagging in the QT Edit app in Pro Media Tools:
    1. Color - this allows you to specify NTSC, PAL or HD and it sets the appropriate primary, transfer and matrix for the particular format.
    2. Color Space - this allows you to tag it with an ICC profile as you would an image.
    3. Gamma - this allows you to specify the gamma the file was created at, such as 1.8 or 2.2. However, it's only there for backwards-compatibility. Apple does not recommend this option because it has been replaced with the more advanced Color tag. You can add only a Color or a Gamma tag and when you add one, the option for the other will disappear.
You can see what it's going to look like in the preview window so I'd recommend trying out various settings until it looks right. These settings are located in the Encoding Attributes tab that appears when the video track is selected in the track window. You may need to click the + button to add the necessary tags.

  • Difference between Logic Express and Pro? ro

Is the actual logic part the exact same? Is it that with the Pro you get all the extras? (soundtrack pro, qmaster, logic node, compressor, main stage, wave burner, jam packs). Is that what makes it the "pro" version? Or does the actual Logic app offer more abilities? If so, I can't seem to see much a difference. thanks

The app itself is indeed the same, but the included content and plug-ins are different.
This Apple support document details all the differences:

  • Differences between Premiere Elements 8 & 9

    Hi,
I am brand new to digital video editing, so this is probably a dopey question.  I have successfully (I think!) installed Pre El 9 and Photoshop El 9.  As I am finding the programme less than intuitive, I have been looking for help both online and via books.  I got what seems like a very helpful book from the library but it is for Pre El 8.  In fact, most of what I am finding seems to relate to Pre E 8, or annoyingly flips me into information for Photoshop Elements 9.  I am struggling as it is, so I don't want to work through this book and find that big chuncks don't relate to the programme I have.  I have emailed Adobe support and all they said was that Pre El 9 is more enhanced in terms of performance.  Does that mean that the two programmes look and are used in exactly the same way and its behind the scenes stuff that has been improved or are there extra features in 9? Any help any one can give me would be greatly appreciated.

  • Is there much of a difference between fatal1ty regular and pros?

i see theres a little bit different specs, does it make a big difference sound wise?

YES!  At first appearance it might seem to work fine seem not to be important, but WiFi is inherently always going to be slower and MUCH more failure prone that Eithernet.  And streaming video, especially HD video, is not at all fault tolerant.  You can get it working fine if you have decent WiFi hardware, but will likely get errors about lost network connections, interruptions in playback, lag, etc.
Probably half of the issues posted for ATV are WiFi related.   Since moving mine back to WiFi I have almost no issues.
I would put one of your other devices on WiFi that is not doing streaming video or buy the hub.  It will save you a LOT of frustration.

  • Timecode differences between Quicktime/Resolve and Pr CS6

I have some DSLR MOVs which I added timecode and and a reel name to using qtChange (which reads the .THM files along side each clip). I did this to make moving the project from Pr to Resolve easier.
However. For most clips the timecode which is shown in Premiere is different from the timecode shown in Quicktime 7 or Resolve. Why is this? It's making conform a pain.

I checked my specs, and everything seems to be fine. The only things it doesn't meet are the recommendations for Adobe SpeedGrade, which I don't plan on using.

  • The difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers

Does anyone know what is the difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers? I can not find anywhere on Google. Also in the tutorials I have seen, suggesting DVD Studio Pro markers, but it did not mention the chapter markers.
    Thanks,

"Adding Chapter and Compression Markers to Your Sequence
Once you have your edited sequence or program finished, you can add markers to the sequence for use on DVD. Markers are reference points you can place within clips or sequences that identify specific frames. There are two kinds of markers you can add that directly relate to authoring a DVD—chapter markers and compression markers.
    • Chapter markers allow DVD authoring applications to create a navigable chapter list for your exported QuickTime movie. Chapter markers force MPEG keyframes (known as I-frames) at their location, since the DVD specification requires an I-frame at each chapter point.
    • Compression markers identify areas of abrupt change and include two types: those that are automatically inserted by Final Cut Pro at all edit points, and those you manually place in the clip or sequence. Like chapter markers, compression markers force I-frames at their location, although in this case it is for better quality encoding, and they are not used to create a chapter list.
Note: When you export a QuickTime movie, you have an option to export various kinds of markers, including compression, chapter, or DVD Studio Pro markers. *When you choose to export DVD Studio Pro markers, Final Cut Pro actually exports chapter markers and all compression markers.* This includes compression markers you set manually, as well as ones created automatically by Final Cut Pro at edit and transition points."
From the Final Cut Pro User Manual.

  • What are the major differences between the air and the pro

what are the major differences between the air and the pro?

In a nutshell, the Air is a lightened, more compact system than the 13" Pro counterpart. The Air loses some hardware features to accommodate the physical downsizing.
    No FireWire port
    No built-in optical drive
A lesser performing CPU to retain battery charge life, and adequate cooling.
    No Ethernet port
    No Kensington lock slot
The Air does have a superior native resolution at 1440 x 900, and a standard SSD that does make up alot of the speed differential, and then some. Of course, the 13" Pro can be optionally configured with an SSD.
You buy the Air if the physical size an weight savings are demonstrably more important than the features lost.
