Differences between publishing changes and publishing site?

Hi, I don't host via .mac but I have a host account with 1and1.Com, which serves as host to seven websites that I run. I recently upgraded to iweb09 because of its direct publishing (tired of paying for fetch licenses)..well I just ran into my first big issue..at the time of piblishing the site I get a question whether to publish the entire site and to publish the changes. I attempted to publish the whole site but when I visited my site nothing had change though iweb stated my upload was complete. Should I just be publishing the changes to my host? or continue doing the entier site publishing even...or am I missing something?

I'm sorry I can't answer your query but I was wondering if you could tell me what I put in the Directory/Path line of the ftp server settings panel?
I had to republish all my sites after loading iLife 09 ... and the ones I sent up to MobileMe are fine, but I can't get a connection to my other hosts because I don't know what info to put in the Directory/Path line. Can you help? Tks, Maureen

  • Differences between Publishing sites and publishing enabled document library

    Hi
what is the main differences between Publishing sites and publishing enabled document library
and how to enable publishing for document library?
    adil

Publishing Sites is an out-of-the-box site template designed to publish web pages and it comes with a pre-built workflow or without (depends on which template you pick). It comes with libraries such as Pages library, Publishing Images, or Site Images.
It is configured to fully customized the master pages (or add new ones), and page layouts.
There is no such thing as publishing enabled document library. A document library is not designed to publish web pages. You can have Site Pages library in a team site, but if you are looking to fully brand a site collection, then this is not your answer.
You will need to use a Publishing Site to fully brand your Internet or Intranet site.
You can enable the publishing infrastructure on any site that is NOT a publishing site, but this does not turn your provisioned site to a publishing site. It simply turns on publishing features, such as navigation management, master pages/page layouts management,
    publishing workflows, etc....

  • What is the difference between packet-speaker and packet-publisher?

What is the difference between packet-speaker and packet-publisher in Coherence?

I believe that both are responsible for sending packets on the network. The packet speaker is used by the packet publisher when the publisher determines that there is a good chance that the send operation will block. By allowing the speaker to handle the potentially blocking send operation the publisher can continue to process outgoing packets.

  • Difference between task request and change request

What is the difference between task request and change request during sap implementation. In general how many tasks will generate during a normal company inmplementation by any functional consultant?

    Hi,
Change request and task request are same. But generally change request is generated during newly created objects or reports that are transported and task request is used when u regenerate the change request by modifying that object again and transporting it in new change request.
A particular change request may contain multiple number of task request but that number depends upon number of objects u transfer during generation and transportation.
Pls do reward points if ans is useful.

  • Difference between At new and on change statement?

What is the difference between at new and on change statement? Please explain with an example.

    hi
on change of differs from at new in the following respects:
It can be used in any loop construct, not just loop at. For example, it can be used within select and endselect, do and enddo, or while and endwhile, as well as inside get events.
A single on change of can be triggered by a change within one or more fields named after of and separated by or. These fields can be elementary fields or field strings. If you are within a loop, these fields do not have to belong to the loop.
When used within a loop, a change in a field to the left of the control level does not trigger a control break.
When used within a loop, fields to the right still contain their original values; they are not changed to contain zeros or asterisks.
You can use else between on change of and endon.
You can use it with loop at it where . . ..
You can use sum with on change of. It sums all numeric fields except the one(s) named after of.
Any values changed within on change of remain changed after endon. The contents of the header line are not restored as they are for at and endat.

  • Difference between on change of and at end of :

Hi Can any one explain me what is the exact difference between on change of and at end of .
    I know the basic differences.
But i would like to know in which case we can use the above two statemetns.
    Suppose :
Matnr   plant       sloc       movementype      date                          qty
    12       001          002           261                12/11/08                    10
    12      001          002            261               12/11/08                      11
    12      002          003            261               12/11/08                      12
Here i need to add the quantity based up on the material,
If the materials is maintained in different plants then it should give the total for for that particular plant.
Please help me how to build logic to this :
    Regards,
    Vinay.

ok sure i will give it to u.
    MATNR       PLANT          SLOC            BWART           BUDAT         QTY1           QTY2           QTY3             QTY4            QTY5

Here i need to write the logic for that material usage :
This material usage will be caliculated based upon the movement types in that particular month :
    The formula is :
    AT END OF BUDAT.
         FINAL_VALUE_WA-KWMENG12 =   ( W_QTY261 -   W_QTY262 ) + ( W_QTY201 - W_QTY202 ) + ( W_QTY551 - W_QTY552 ).
          CLEAR : W_QTY261,W_QTY262,W_QTY201,W_QTY202,W_QTY551,W_QTY552.
        ENDAT.
Here iam writting the logic as at end of the month iam caliculating.
But what my question is if we have same material in different plant and the usage is in the same month
then i think this query is going to fail.

  • What's the difference between SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 Team Sites?

    Hi there,
What are the differences between SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 Team Sites?
If I would like to develop a professional corporate website with SharePoint technology (because the company allready uses Office 365), do you recommend using SharePoint 2013 (in the cloud) or Office 365 Team Sites? And why?
    Thank you very much!

You cannot make SPO Team Sites anonymous-enabled, therefor they're a moot point for a public website.
While slightly out of date, take a look at this:

  • What is difference between additive delta and new status for change record

    Hi Experts
Can any one explain me about the difference between additive delta and new status for change record with example
if any one has a document please post it iam thank full to u
    thanks
    Ahmed
Please search the forum before posting a thread
Edited by: Pravender on Feb 12, 2012 1:54 PM

    Hi
Additive delta --- We will get the changed quantity.
say suppose you have sales order and quantity like  1111   30 which is loaded to cube(BW).
now same record qty has changed from 30 to 40. As we have additive delta, we will get new record as 1111  10.
new status for change record: This is same as like After image delta type in standard SAP data sources. for every change in record you should have new record.
say if you have any number which will be generated by system for new/changed record, then you can use this.
You can use this option when delta option set to "numeric pointer"

  • Differences between Siebel Analytics and OBIEE

    Hello Experts,
Can anyone explain me what are the major differences between Siebel Analytics and OBIEE. I know that the look & feel and cost have got some changes. Other than that can any one tell me any functionality changes or enhancements that took place?
    Thanks in Advance

Just looking at the OBIEE platform, I think one of the major differences between Siebel Analytics (7.8) and OBIEE (10.1.x) from a functional point of view is that Oracle added/integrated BI Publisher in OBIEE.

  • Difference between BlankInternet#0 and CMSPublishing#0

    Hi All,
I am doing an export and import using powershell in sharepoint 2013
I need to export a sitecollection and import the same site collection as subsite in new site collection, when I do this am getting an error saying that the import cannot be done because both the templates are not same.
the exported site have blankinternet#0 template and the importing subsite is having
CMSPublishing#0 template, when I search on internet I am seeing both the templates are "Publishing site" then what is the difference between the two...please tell me how to create a
BlankInternet#0 site and which template should I use to create this.
Sarath Sannadi Sharepoint Dev at Saksoft

There is great difference between. you need to create site where both template should be same.
    CMSPublishing#0
A blank site for expanding your Web site and  quickly publishing Web pages. Contributors  can work on draft versions of pages and publish  them to make them
    visible to readers.
    blankinternet#0
This template creates a site for publishing  Web pages on a schedule, with workflow  features
enabled. By default, only  Publishing sub-sites can be created under  this site. A Document
and Picture Library are included for storing Web publishing assets.

  • What is difference between bex analyser and bex browser

what is difference between bex analyser and bex browser . please explain what are use of both and what we do in both.

    hi
    Bex Browser
The Business Explorer Browser (BEx Browser) makes it possible for you to access all document types of the Business Information Warehouse that are assigned to your role or that you have stored in your favorites. You can select and open documents assigned to you in the BEx Browser or store and manage new documents in the BEx Browser.
Document types that you can work with in the BEx Browser are:
    · BW workbooks
    · Documents that are stored in the Business Document Service (BDS)
    · Links (references to file system, shortcuts)
    · Links to internet sites (URLs)
    · SAP transaction calls.
    · Web applications and Web templates
    · Crystal Reports
    Bex Analyser
The Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx Analyzer) is the analysis and reporting tool of the Business Explorer that is embedded in Microsoft Excel.
    Features
You can call up the BEx Query Designer in the BEx Analyzer, in order to define queries. Subsequently, you can analyze the selected InfoProvider data by navigation to the query created in the Query Designer and create different query views of the data. You can add the different query views for a query or for different queries to a work book and save them there. You can save the workbook in your favorites or in your role on the BW Server. You can also save the workbook locally on your computer.
Beyond that, you can precalculate the workbook and distribute it by e-mail to recipeients or you can export it to the Enterprise Portal and make it accessible to other employees in the company.
You can start queries in a standard view (with a Standard Web Template set up in Customizing) in the Web browser and forward the URL or continue to navigate on the Web. Similarly, you can export the Web query to MS Excel 2000.
Overview of the Functional Area of the BEx Analyzer:
    ·        BEx toolbar
You access the functions of the BEx Analyzer from the BEx toolbar, which takes you to the BEx Open dialog box where you can open existing queries, or to the BEx Query Designer where you can create new queries or change existing queries.
    ·        Evaluating Query Data
The BEx Analyzer offers convenient functions for evaluating and presenting InfoProvider data interactively. In the BEx Analyzer, you can add queries to workbooks, navigate within them and refresh the data. You can also process the queries further in Microsoft Excel or display them in the Web browser in a default view.
Navigation of a query allows you, for example, to filter characteristics on a single value, drilldown on all values for a characteristic, regroup characteristics and key figures in the rows and columns of the results area, or hide key figures. Navigation results in different views of the InfoProvider data. In addition, a range of further functions is available which allow you to edit a query interactively (for example, sorting, cumulated output, among others). In addition, you can use the editing functions in Microsoft Excel in order to set up individual format templates, to print results areas, or to create graphics.
    ·        Queries in Workbooks
Queries are inserted into workbooks so you can display them. When you insert a query, a link is made between the cell areas of the worksheet and the data of the InfoProvider upon which the query is based. A link therefore exists between the Business Explorer and the Business Information Warehouse Server (BW Server).
When inserting a query into the workbook, a VBA routine is automatically generated in the workbook. You can also connect the Business Explorer with your own VBA programs (Visual Basic for Applications).
You can create workbook templates, into which you can insert your queries. Workbook templates can contain pre-determined items for the area of the query, formatting settings, logos, VBA macros, and so on.
    ·        Precalculating workbooks
You can precalculate and distribute workbooks with the BEx Broadcaster, which is a Web application you get to form the BEx toolbar. The system generates MS Excel workbooks with historical data. You determine the time for precalculation yourself: You can have workbooks precalculated at a predefined time or they can be precalculated whenever data in the underlying InfoProvider changes. You can have the precalculated workbooks sent by e-mail or you can export them into the Enterprise Portal, where you can make them available to employees within your company.
    Activities
To start the BEx Analyzer, choose Start ® Programs ® SAP Front-end Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Business Explorer Analyzer.
You can also access the BEx Analyzer via SAP Easy Access ® SAP Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Menu ® Business Explorer ® Analyzer or in the Business Explorer Browser using the Business Explorer Analyzer symbol in the menu bar.
Hope this will solve your issu

  • Difference between EDN-DB and EDN-JMS implementation

    Experts,
Looking for a difference between EDN-DB and EDN-JMS implementation. We have EDN implementation going on, where multiple source systems will be publishing business events. Events can be published using SOA Suite or JMS Bridge from AQ and MQ. In this scenario which implementation approach is suited better ?

Oracle Apps Adapter can be used for many other products other than E-Business Suite (JD Edwards E1, OTM, and others).  The apps adapter was mainly used in ERP systems and was strong when you needed have added functionality other than just polling a db for a status / calling a stored procedure...  It could connect out to other business services, xml gateways and so-on.
From a technical aspect / development perspective I always thought of that the Oracle Apps Adapter simplifies the development but, may is not flexible. The App Adapter's strength is the services that are difficult to integrate with (business services, xml gateway). If you need to hook in to these types of services, use the APPS adapter. (Again like it is named the "Apps Adapter" its for interacting w/ other applications to enable real-time processing / functionality.
That being said the dbAdapter can be very powerful but, like it is named is database focused (to poll some table to know when to kick off other logic and enable real-time functionality through database interaction.
Looking at the Oracle 12C Roadmap I had heard that there is more planned for the Oracle Apps Adapter moving forward, especially as Anuj said in the "Financial Apps" side of the isle at Oracle. Who knows what is real and what isn't though =]
    Hope this helps!

  • Can Anybody explain me the difference between  a Bapi and a webservice?

Can Anybody explain me the difference between  a Bapi and a webservice?

    Hi Anil,
    <b>BAPI</b>
BAPI is a library of functions that are released to the public
as an interface into an existing SAP system from an external
system.A BAPI function is a function module that
can be called remotely using the RFC technology
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA.
In this case you only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI. It is not possible to connect SAP to Non-SAP systems to retrieve data using RFC alone. RFC can acces the SAP from outside only through BAPI and same is for vice versa access.
    <b>Webservice</b>
In simpler terms, WebService is an application on the Web/Internet. Wheneever Service is requested by the user, it provides the service (i.e Request/Response)
A web service is a collection of protocols and standards used for exchanging data between applications or systems
In SAP world, we can expose an application into the Webservice. For e.g We can expose ABAP programs into Webservice.
XI uses SOAP adapter to communicate with webservices see below...why only soap adpater???
-> Some remote clients or Web services providers are only able to communicate by means of SOAP messages
->SOAP adapter enables you to exchange SOAP message between remote clients and Web Service Servers and the Integration Server.
-> The SOAP Adapter provides a runtime environment that includes various SOAP components for the processing of SOAP message.
-> You use the SOAP adapter to connect such systems to the Integration Server directly
-> The SOAP adapter uses a helper class to instantiate and control these SOAP components
->The SOAP adapter receives a msg from the remote client or Web service provider, converts the SOAP protocol into XI msg protocol and then sends the msg to the Integration Server to be processed further.
Basically  RFCs BAPI are all SAP oriented, Webservices are language / environement independent. So, all one has to do is publish a Webservice and any external system by providing the data in the correct format, can get the approopriate response back.
see these links to know more abt webservices..
