Differences between standard and enterprise editions

I have applications deployed to both AS7 standand and enterprise editions.
For development we have dynamic reload turned on. So when I touch a file .reload in the expanded application directory $ASHOME/domains/domainname/instancename/applications/j2ee-apps/appname/.reload the application gets reloaded.
In platform and standard editions this only reloads the application whose directory the .reload file is in.
However, in enterprise edition, every application seems to get reinitialized.
I could be mistaken as we have different applications deployed to both environments. The applications on enterprise edition might just be logging more information during initialization.
Or maybe there is a configuration option that allows individual applications to be reloaded versus all the applications being reloaded.
Has anyone else run across this?

Hi,
I think you are talking about Database versions, so this is not the right forum since this is Forms's forum.
Look at this link:

Hope it helps you :)

Enterprise vs Standard : technical view
If you install Enterprise you must:
    - install Enterprise whith all the modules
    - apply the patch 8.1.5.0.1
(if all the modules weren't installed, the patch fails because
he tries to relink non installed products)
If you install Stardard you must:
    - install Standard
    - no patch required !
    Enterprise vs Standard : package
Standard is good enougth for a lot of purposes. It includes
TextRetrival, Java inside the database, etc.
With Enterprise, you can by additional products like Spatial
    data, Time Series, etc.
    Hope this helps,

  • Differences between standard and enterprise ??

    Hello everyone,
Where could i find an exhaustive list of all the differences between Oracle 9i standard and Oracle 9i enterprise. Recently, i wanted to use a function based index but it is forbidden in Oracle 9i standard... Are there a lot of other "surprises" like this one ?

This http://otn.oracle.com/products/oracle9i/pdf/o9i_family_features.pdf is a reasonably exhaustive list of the feature differences between Enterprise and Standard. I believe it is complete, but can't guarantee it.

  • RAC Differences for Standard and Enterprise Editions of 10g

Are there any differences between RAC implementations for Oracle 10g SE and RAC option for Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition (except CPU numbers limitations and CRS&ASM necessity)? I heard some buzz what RAC for SE have only HA abilities.

We havent seen any differences. 10g is still 10g.
One noted requirements is for SE support you must use the ASM software. Functionally the RAC portion appears to be the same ..

  • Differences in 10g Standard and Enterprise Editions

I found on the matrix of items enabled in 10g standard and enterprise edition that the standard edition does not have Oracle Data Guard, but it does have standby database. For a standard edition database with a standby database configured (manually since the GUI isn't available in STD either), do you have to manually copy the log files to the standby server, or will this automatically be done using standard edition?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Can you use a standby database using standard edition?

  • Differences between standard and pro versions

I was reading the comparision of these two Acrobat versions and for Pro it says:
Edit and enhance photos to add to your PDF communications with Adobe Photoshop® CS5.
Quickly transform static PowerPoint slides into compelling, interactive PDF presentations with Adobe Presenter
Rapidly combine screen recordings, narration, video, slides, and more into a rich media experience with Adobe Captivate® 5
Does that mean that the Pro version includes Photoshop, Presenter and Captivate programs as well? Or, what are the differences? As an aside, the new look and feel of the Adobe website is confusing at best. Seems geared to being flashy, not useful.
    Regards, David

Acrobat does not included those other packages. One of the pages that always struck me funny (maybe I have a twisted mind) but has this artistic background is the updates page. The background looks like a lacy bra to me. It is the first thing that comes to mind every time I see it. That is a problem with abstract images (that are typically unnecessary and waste bandwidth), that a lot is in the eye of the beholder. Actually, I have heard from many others that also see the bra.
OK, back to Acrobat. There are several aspects of Acrobat that allow you to have links to the other products built in, but they are not included. The page at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/buying-guide.html?promoid=JIJYS provides some info, but a lot is missing. For instance there are differences with PDF Optimize and Reduce File Size I think (sorry, I do not have Std to check). One important one that is part of pro is the preflight option. Apparently Std does not include portfolios or allow PDF comparison according to the chart.
If you are into forms, then Std apparently will do them as AcroForms (my preference, partially because of familiarity), but does not include Designer if that was your preference. Some of the enabling for Reader is not available in Std. Also, Std does not allow embedding Flash. Std is limited for some of the products that include PDF Maker (not a big one for me, but might be important to you).
That is a quick summary based on the chart. However, be aware there are some other features that the chart does not seem to cover. For the difference between Std and Pro, I would suggest getting Pro. The big hit is the initial cost of the product, not the step up to Pro. In a business plan consider the time that might be wasted trying to do some of the things in Pro that are not in Std. Those are the types of issues to consider. Many folks consider the cost to be large, and for a small business it is. However, in the long term it may be worth the cost.
Keep in mind that many large CAD packages in engineering run about $30,000 for a single license, half the cost of the engineer that would use it. Some other tools are about $15,000. In that view, Acrobat is cheap (except for cheapskates like me).

  • Difference between standard and actual activity rates

    Dear All,
My client is having a process in which while downloading KOB1 the system is giving report of all the process orders wise  activities confirmed in that month against some cost center.
Now when i am going into line item it takes me to process order confirmation display where activiies to be confirmed and activities yet to be confirmed are displayed.
After that cost center report S_alr_87013611 is displayed wherein actual rates(quantity ) is displayed for that activities.
Now the system shows difference between actual and standard activities.
The difference is the calculated in excel on the basis of KOB1 report and difference is loaded process order wise  on calculation done in excel through LSMW (for transaction KB21n) wherein difference quantity is posted from cost center to process order.
Now client needs automation in the sense that no excel calculation should be done and difference should be posted for that month for each process order in the ratio calculated in excel.
Kindly provide any solutions if any, avaliable in standard or Z development has to be done.
    Thanks and Regards,
    VLM

    Dear AP,
Have you any idea about how in above case Z development is to be done?
    Regards,
    VLM

  • Difference between Standard and Regular Purch Org

    Hi Experts,
what is the difference between standar purch(used in pipeline procurement ,consignmnet and stock transfer)
    org and regular purch org
    Regards
    Sameer

    Hi,
If several purchasing organizations procure for a certain plant, you can define one of them as the standard purchasing organization for the transactions "pipeline procurement", "consignment" and "stock transfers".
In source determination for stock transfers and consignment, the system automatically utilizes this standard purchasing organization. In the case of goods issues of pipeline materials, the purchasing info records of the standard purchasing organization are read.

  • HT2523 What is the difference between Pages and Text Edit? Pros and Cons?

I just purchased a Macbook Pro, and I am currently exploring its features. I see that it comes with Text Edit, which seems to be its form of Microsoft Word...but I also know that you can purchase "Pages" for the computer. What is the difference? Pros and cons of each? I will be a freshman in college in the fall, so I need something that I can do lots of writing and editing on.

TextEdit is a simple basic text editor. Far from what MS Word can do. This is Pages:
