Differences in 10g Standard and Enterprise Editions
I found on the matrix of items enabled in 10g standard and enterprise edition that the standard edition does not have Oracle Data Guard, but it does have standby database. For a standard edition database with a standby database configured (manually since the GUI isn't available in STD either), do you have to manually copy the log files to the standby server, or will this automatically be done using standard edition?
Thanks,
Jim
Can you use a standby database using standard edition?

Difference btw cf8 standard and enterprise
hi,
i've downloaded the pdf from adobe website stating the
difference btw standard and enterprise edition. But i'm quite
puzzled on this:
Enterprise feature that runs through the Enterprise Feature
Router (EFR). These features will run in the Standard
Edition. However, all features running through the EFR will
be limited to one shared simultaneous request.
What is EFR? And does it mean that for standard edition, all
the tags fucntion remains the same except that it only allow 1
request of such tag at 1 time?"What is EFR? And does it mean that for standard edition, all
the tags
fucntion remains the same except that it only allow 1 request
of such
tag at 1 time?"
For the effected functionality. This does not apply to all
Standard
Functions, just new Standard Functions that previously where
Enterprise
only such as gateways. Standard not has gateways, but only
one at a
time. I believe the same applies to some of the advanced PDF
functionality and similar features. -

Differences between standard and enterprise editions
I have applications deployed to both AS7 standand and enterprise editions.
For development we have dynamic reload turned on. So when I touch a file .reload in the expanded application directory $ASHOME/domains/domainname/instancename/applications/j2ee-apps/appname/.reload the application gets reloaded.
In platform and standard editions this only reloads the application whose directory the .reload file is in.
However, in enterprise edition, every application seems to get reinitialized.
I could be mistaken as we have different applications deployed to both environments. The applications on enterprise edition might just be logging more information during initialization.
Or maybe there is a configuration option that allows individual applications to be reloaded versus all the applications being reloaded.
Has anyone else run across this?Hi,
I think you are talking about Database versions, so this is not the right forum since this is Forms's forum.
Look at this link:

Hope it helps you :)

RAC Differences for Standard and Enterprise Editions of 10g
Are there any differences between RAC implementations for Oracle 10g SE and RAC option for Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition (except CPU numbers limitations and CRS&ASM necessity)? I heard some buzz what RAC for SE have only HA abilities.
We havent seen any differences. 10g is still 10g.
One noted requirements is for SE support you must use the ASM software. Functionally the RAC portion appears to be the same .. -
Difference between Solution Manager and Enterprise Edition
Hi all,
Please can someone help define the key differences between the standard Solution Manager and the Enterprise Edition?
I have done my research but can only find the usual marketing material and benefits from SAP. Ideally, the key functionality and main benefits of Enterprise Edition would be appreciated.
Regards,
-RohanHi, enterprise edition is the Solution manager with EHP1 or SOLMAN in SPS 18, we did the upgrade already and some SAP specialists came to do some initial configurations.
More workcenters are the key functionality in this version altough this was released in earlier SPS's, to be sincere with you, SAP specialists that came for the service told us that this new version is oriented to workcenters and some improvements but he did not know all the new functionalities besides workceneters.
Workcenters are a nice way of working and keeping the whole landscape at sight as far as my short experience. -
Difference between Standard and Enterprise Edition
I need documentation on the benefits going to Enterprise vs Standard. We are currently on Standard but to plead my case I have to have doc to back this up to justify purchasing Enterprise. Any help would be great.

Selection on Oracle 8i Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition
I have seen "Oracle8i: A Family of Database Products" which states the feature difference between oracle8i standard and enterprise edition, for example, failover, parallel server, ...
However, if I only use one databse in my application then it seems that there is no difference between standard and enterprise edition.
Is there any significant difference between those that I must use enterprise edition one, e.g. performance???Hi,
Can anybody give me a short explaination about the differences between the Standard Edition and the Enterprise Edition. Is the standard edition a fully qualified development and production environment?
Regards,
Joshua The diff between SE and EE has to do with what you license. SE for example, is not licensed for REP and Parallel Server but that might not stop someone from implementing them ? I consider SE and EE to be 'fully qualified development and production environment' but that is just my opinion.

Enterprise vs Standard : technical view
If you install Enterprise you must:
- install Enterprise whith all the modules
- apply the patch 8.1.5.0.1
(if all the modules weren't installed, the patch fails because
he tries to relink non installed products)
If you install Stardard you must:
- install Standard
- no patch required !
Enterprise vs Standard : package
Standard is good enougth for a lot of purposes. It includes
TextRetrival, Java inside the database, etc.
With Enterprise, you can by additional products like Spatial
data, Time Series, etc.
Hope this helps,

Step by step upgrading exchange server 2010 standard to enterprise edition
step by step upgrading process exchange server 2010 standard to enterprise edition
Exchange standard and Enterprise edition have the same ISO image. it's just the license that you have to enter and corresponding features will be enabled. If you are planning to upgrade existing Exchange 2010 Standard to Exchange 2010 Enterprise then simply
apply the licenses of Enterprise edition. But if you want to upgrade to Exchange 2013 enterprise then install exchange 2013 in your environment and apply Exchange 2013 Enterprise edition licenses. Hope this answer your query. Thanks.
Kindly mark this as answer if found helpful. Thanks.

What is the difference between 9i standard edition and enterprise edition
hi,
who can tell me what is the difference between ora 9i standard edition and enterprise edition?? relevant http links are also appreciated. thank you!
regards,
iron teung. If your 'professor' really said that then I think you need to find a new college!I agree. 11g is a superset of 9i. In fact, you can tell 11g to run in 9i compatibility mode.
>
I firmly believe that you would do well starting with
9i and then going through the new features with each
release to 11g.Since 9i is officially about to start it's second year in 'Extended Support' (which, due to the surcharge in support fee, will likely see a drop-off in adoption) I would encourage anyone studying Oracle database to start with 10g.
But the idea of starting at 9i is not bad.
>
'Client' is the software required to
access/interact/maintain an Oracle database remotely
from a client machine. Different features become
available as you progress from Personal to Standard
to Enterprise editions. They are cost related to
whichever license you buy in a production environment. One point of confusion is that Personal Edition really is targeted for the Developer and therefore includes all capabilities, features and options of Enterprise Edition turned on and included in the license. (Except RAC and OEM packs) When I draw a picture, I put Personal Edition at the top as most capable. -
Difference between standard edition and enterprise edition?
Is there any document describing the feature differences between Oracle 9i standard edition and enterprise edition?
Specifically is Oracle Text bundled with the standard edition?
Thanks a lot
JamesHi,
Check this document:
http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=112591.1
Apart from the features that are present in E.E. and not in S.E., there is little difference (except the license price...).
Note that some seperately purchased options are only available with E.E., not S.E. (e.g. Partitioning, Enterprise Manager Packs).

Oracle standard edition one and enterprise edition difference
Can the stadard edition one support user roles and access priveleges for them, for example can I create a user called u1, create an access privelege read_only and assign u1 to read_only.
Also, can I do database audits on the standard edition one database.
Can also be reached at [email protected]
Appreciate your response.
ThanksHello,
Here is the basic difference between Standard Edition One and Enterprise Edition
Oracle Database Standard Edition One :
Oracle Database Standard Edition One delivers unprecedented ease of
use, power, and performance for workgroup, department-level, and Web
applications. Standard Edition One can only be licensed on servers with
a maximum capacity of two processors.
Oracle Database Enterprise Edition :
Oracle Database Enterprise Edition provides the performance,
availability, scalability, and security required for mission-critical
applications such as high-volume online transaction processing (OLTP)
applications, query-intensive data warehouses, and demanding Internet
applications. Oracle Database Enterprise Edition contains all of the
components of Oracle Database, and can be further enhanced with the
purchase of the options and packs.
