Differences in CRM

hi
this is shankar,
can any body tell about difference between MICROSOFT CRM and SAP CRM and give breef explanation about it.
Thanks and Regards
Shankar

Microsoft has a product called as Microsoft Dynamics which includes CRM and it still is in the nascent stage as Microsoft is a very late entrant in Enterprise Solution Business.
So the diferences would be that MCRM has very limited features of CRM whereas SAP CRM, being in market for more time then MCRM, has more features which are customer oriented and is accepted by the Market.

  • Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.

Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.
Does CRM 2007 use the WebUI?.
    Jason

My fault for not putting my question forward correctly.
I have worked with CRM 7 a few times now, but my experience has jumped me from CRM 5 straight to CRM 7, having never touched CRM 2007.
I now have an opening to work on CRM 2007 so I was intrigued to know what it physically looked like. I assume it does not use the WebUI interface?.

  • Difference between CRM and R/3

    can anyone clarify on these...
What is difference between CRM and R/3
Also about CRM sales order vs R/3 Sales order why we go crm in this case .

First, it is expedient to state that both SAP Business One and SAP R/3 are built on the concept of client/server architecture. So how do they differ? Let's first understand the relationship in a client server setup. A client server is a computer system design standard in which the client machines requests and gets back information from a distribution machine called the server.
SAP Business One as said earlier is based on client/server architecture, howbeit a "2 tier": strictly, clients and server. This technology is often referred to as a fat client. This is because all processing and business logic are carried out on the client.
SAP R/3 is based on a three tier client/server technology. Typically, it is made up of three functionally distinct layers namely: the user interface, business logic and database.
The user interface, which is otherwise known as the presentation server displays the interface for users' communication with the SAP system. It is often referred to as the SAP GUI. As a matter of fact, it is a program called sapgui.exe. The application server is where the business logic and data manipulation takes place. Data processing, SAP administration tasks and client request/feedback management are handled within the business layer. The database layer is synonymous to the database server and it typically acts as a data repository for tables and other database objects and structures.
Ideally, an R/3 system is composed of one database server, one or more application servers and one or more presentation servers. SAP Business One on the other hand is composed of a database server and one or more presentation servers.

  • Fundamental difference between CRM & SD

    Hi,
I am basically a technical guy in SAP. I would like to know the fundamental difference between CRM & SD or SCM & MM or for that matter PLM & PM/QM. Can anybody explain.
    Thanks.

    Hi Harikrishna
Sales & Distribution (SD) basically covers Sales (Enquiry  Quotation  Order) & Post Sales ( Delivery  Picking  Packing  Transportation  Invoicing.) processes
Where as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) covers pre-sales processes. e.g.
How / which are the different ways client is getting in touch with the customers. There may be scenarios where customers on their own contact company ( Field Sales) and company sales representatives contact customers (Customer Interaction Centers & Internet sales). You need to map such processes in system for generating u201Cleadsu201D
Next is what happens after the leads are generated. How these leads are filtered and further converted to opportunities. Whether any sales methodology is followed for tracking the opportunity.
Once the opportunity is matured, if order is created directly or first  enquiry and quotation is required before creating the order.
Similarly what processes are followed for marketing products. How and when marketing plan are created. If there are any marketing campaigns. How are the responses to the campaigns tracked. What types of offers they make to the customers. How do they create target group/segmentation for running these campaigns.
    Similarly for service.
Once you understand this, the process is mapped in CRM .i.e. you will configure the system which will track following
    Planning Campaigns  leads  opportunities  Activities  enquiries  quotations  order  order replicated to R/3  or SD etc.
Please let me know if this explanation answered your questions.

  • What's the difference between CRM 5.0 and CRM 2007?

  • Difference between CRM  5.0 and 4.0  version.

    Hello Experts,
Please let me know the exacat difference between CRM 5.0 version and 4.0 version.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi Koti,
There are some significant differences between CRM 4.0 and CRM 5.0.
    1. IC Web : Locking and Handling of entities should be handled explicitly in CRM
4.0 where as the same is handled implicitly in CRM 5.0.
    2. In 4.0 most of the Std Classes can be inherited but in 5.0 most of the Std
Classes cannot be inherited as they are made as Final  Classes.
    3. CRM 5.0 and 5.1 so on.... versions have introduced CRM specific User Interface which is very flexible and simplified as you can jus drag and drop the objects for creation of custom application.
    Thanks
    Siva

    Hi Shoukath,
The ERP system communicates with SAP CRM using CRM Middleware.
Please find the below link for more details on CRM Middle ware
    [CRM Middleware|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm60/helpdata/en/76/5ea438c42a5b2ce10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm]
    Where as
PI is a middleware like many others. It is well suited for connecting SAP systems with each other and with non-SAP.If your focus is not on SAP systems, other solutions might be a better choice today. SAP XI provides an integrated workflow engine that allows to define adapters to non-XML-protocols and mappings to convert data content from source to target.
Process integration provides the infrastructure for business applications, that run in distributed systems. Process integration acts as the messaging middleware for service communication(both SAP and Non-SAP), connectivity, transformation and portability.
Applications can also be connected directly with Web services (including the Web Service Reliable Messaging standard).

  • What is the difference between CRM basis and regular basis?

    Hi! Experts:
Is CRM basis different from regular basis ? I mean anything extra for CRM?
    Thanks!

    Christy,
Five years ago there was a major difference, now it really doesn't differ much from ERP.  Basically as long as you can administer a full netweaver landscape(all technical components), then you can do CRM admin.
The CRM middleware role is sometimes a basis person, but generally most companies have a "hybrid" person for that role(think functionaltechnicallimted basis).
    Take care,

  • Difference between CRM User and Employee

    Hello!
We are using the webclient UI and with HR integration and I am confused as to the difference between the concept of a user and an employee. Is the user the SU01 where as the employee is the HR record? How do you determine whether to assign a user/employee to a position and then to a business role?

    Tiffanie,
The concept is quite simple. All the employee of an organization constitute "Employee" of an organization. Out of the total employees only a few will be using CRM, having CRM logon access. So this employee becomes the "User".
So a CRM User should be an employee of the organization. But all Employee will not be a CRM user.
Hope this give you some clarity.

    Shyamak

    Hy All gurus...
I just started in CRM 5.0 and i was wondering what is the difference in between CRM 4.0 And CRM 5.0 and other version of CRM.
If any body can send me sme useful links that will be a great help...
    Thanks In advance

    Hy,
THE Messages and Alert are independent of JAVA in CRM 5.0
where as in CRM 4.0 they are dependent on java.
Difference i found is of interaction at an height level with user,
The IC WebClient Architecture section was
redesigned completely to offer a better
    interaction to the IC WebClient
    technology.
Abstract graphics explain how the technical components of the IC WebClient play together in the
    architecture concept.
To handle indvidual objects , Wide seen has been covered to get a clear vision in comparision to crm 4.0.
