Different appleid's

my itunes library has a different appleid that my iphone 4s. I want to put that library on my phone. Anyone?

Yes, both are named different, and have been syncing just fine - but we both used the same AppleID.
So sync is independent of AppleID?  What about the AppleID that you put into itunes' "store" menu?  If the 2nd iphone user now gets his own AppleID, how will that work?  Log in/ out of "store" for each phone sync??

How can I associate 2 appleids with one account or use a different Appleid for imessage as described in another post?
I have rejoined the iPhone community, not with one iPhone but with two. My wife agreed to move from the unenlightened!
I have set up both under my apple account and want to keep it that way. But I do not want iMessages going to both phones. I would like separate message queues but share all apps and other purches from the store.
I have created a separate AppleID for her but under Settings>Message>Receive At (it currently says 2 addresses) > ... will not allow me to change the current eMail address and when I add hers (her appleid) it errors out. The only thing I can do in the Apple ID field is to manage my account and not change it to hers.
How can I have 2 iPhones (and my iPad) on the same account but have separate identies?
    Thanks,
    LpGrumpy

    1. Yes. Restart with the Option key held down as needed.
    2. No, it won't be a problem.

  • How to install one app on several iPhones with different AppleID

    Hi all,
I have to roll out a view iPhones (approx. 500) in the next days and all of them need one app on it in advance before I can provide the user with the unit.
All iPhones should work with a different AppleID and the app has to be updated by iTunes Store in the future.
    To be more specific:
    approx 500 iPhone 5
    MobileIron is the app
every iPhone uses a different AppleID in the future
Is there any way to install the MobileIron app with NO APPLEID and the future used AppleID will be implemented into the app so that it will be updated with the real users AppleID in the future?
I think there must be a way without using an own "App Store" in the company or without a general AppleID for all users ...
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

I think Apple has this same problem with all of the MDM solutions that use an app.
Apple, Enterprises need to be able to push these MDM agents out, update and maintain versions.  Sharing an Apple ID and making every user bring their device in so we can use configurator is ridiculous when you purchase an MDM solution you expect to be able to handle app deployment without Apple Store interference.  Also ridiculous is making people that don't want Apple IDs set them up, we can't make people do this.  So we can't make them keep their apps up to date, and we have to have them bring their devices in to us to manually update.
Integrating Apple devices into the Enterprise is setting us back 20 years in support.  We've learned to automate deployment for everything now these devices come along with the app store and they are so consumer focussed that they cannot even be managed in an Enterprise properly.

  • Can't Log In with Different AppleID

I accidentally tried to log in with the wrong AppleID this morning and now I don't even get the option of trying to log in under a different ID.
Every time I try, I click "log in" and the next page that comes up already has the wrong ID listed and offers me the option of signing up for a new account. I click "Log out of this AppleID" and try again, but it ALWAYS auto fills the wrong ID and takes me to the sign-up page. I never get the option to re-write the ID.
I'm using a different browser right now to write this, but I don't want to have to use only one browser to be on this site. Can you tell me how to fix this problem?
    Thank you!

Well, that worked to a degree - I got to re-choose my login ID, so thank you very much for that. It looks like I can't login using Google Chrome, though. Now, my ID is just blank space. Very, very weird.
    Thanks anyway!

  • My iphone has a different AppleId (without an email address) and I can't find the password, but it keeps wanting this old id for app updates.

When I add a new app on my iphone I see the correct AppleId, but later when I try to update the app, I am shown an Id for which I have no password.  When I try to reset,I never receive an email.  Even if I remove the app and reinstall it (these are free apps), it happens again and again.  Anyone have this problem and a solution?

Are you trying to update old apps?  Those apps would be tied to your old apple ID, the one you use to purchase the apps.

  • Using a different appleID for facetime on iPad

I have a macbook pro and an iphone, both set up with my appleID. I recently bought two iPads for my children for school purposes. Both iPads have my appleID on them for apps and such. (I already purchased apps for my iphone and they're too young for their own appleIDs) I bought the iPads through my wireless carrier since I got a deal for adding them on to my existing contract. Therefore, both ipads came with their own numbers, although I can't seem to figure out how to make those numbers work with the ipads. I'm trying to figure out how to make the given numbers work on their individual ipads so they can facetime distant relatives without distrupting each other or me. (When one device receives a facetime request, they all do) Is there some way I can make this happen? While continuing to use my appleID for apps?  I apologize if I'm not being clear. Perhaps that's why I can't seem to figure this out for myself. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Find my phone is part of iCloud, so if she uses her own ID for iCloud you can't track her device.
A better solution would be to download and use the Find My Friends App.

  • My husband and I share the same email address. Is there someway to have different AppleIDs with the same email address?

My husband and I share the same email address at home. Is there some way creating an Apple ID using the same email address? We have multiple apple devices at home (2x iphone4, imac, mini ipad, and notebook) and want our emails from that one address to come through on the different devices.

No, you cannot have the same primary email address used for two separate Apple IDs.
However, you can sign into the same email address on your separate devices for the purposes of receiving mail.  Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts & Calendars > Add Account.
Apple IDs are for using Apple services, like the App Store, iTunes, etc.
Email addresses (while used as the NAME of an Apple ID), are separate entities.

  • Changing to different appleID

My existing appleID is my old email address, I also have an icloud/mobileme email address. I would like to change the appleID for iTunes to be the icloud/mobileme mailaddress. Will I lose anything by doing this, will I still be able to access things I have downloaded for AppleTV/iTunes. I am very hesitant to make the change until I am sure it is quite safe to do so.

Delete will only delete the account from your phone, it won't affect any data synced to any other device.

  • How do I authorize music purchased on a different appleID account other than mine?

    Long story. Here goes:
I was married for several years and during that time my now ex-wife and I purchased music from iTunes. Being married and foolishly adhering to that old adage that once two people are married they become one, we set up OUR Apple account using my then wife's (now ex-wife's) e-mail address and created OUR apple ID account under her name. Fast forward eight years, it has now been two years since my divorce and I have tons of music that was purchased using my ex-wife's Apple account. During the last two years, playing the music that was purchased with her account has not been an issue. I select my music that I want to listen to, hit play and it played. But ever since the latest update from iTunes, I now have a HUGE issue. The latest update requires computers to now be "authorized" to play purchased music and any purchased music must now be verified by the account ID and password used to purchase the music. This has created a catastrophe because my ex-wife has now of course changed her Apple ID password which means I no longer have access to about $1000 worth of music because of this new authorization bull crap!! WHY APPLE IS REQUIRING THIS I DO NOT KNOW BUT I DO KNOW I CANNOT AFFORD TO RE-PURCHASE  UNDER MY ACCOUNT THE  $1000 WORTH OF MUSIC I ALREADY PURCHASED UNDER MY EX-WIFE'S ACCOUNT. This has made me livid to say the least because this seems to be an arbitrary and completely random bull crap requirement from Apple. I have tried to resolve this through Apple support but since it is now nearly impossible to speak to a human at Apple, the email method of communication has yielded diddly squat. I doubt this "forum method" will be any more productive but I have to try. I have begun a social media campaign against Apple's methods of burying random and arbitrary requirements deep within their regular software updates. I've already paid for the music once. I won't pay for it again. HHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are in the process of getting divorced, put it in your agreement that the old ID gets frozen and nobody uses it going forward and then set-up new IDs for future purchases.  That way, nobody ever looses the old stuff.
    Bad suggestion.
If you  freeze the ID (simply meaniung each agrees to not make new purchases) then you both have two iTunes accounts to deal with - the old one and a new one.
Also, you legally cannot both use the content.
Just give the iTunes account to one or the other then each has only one iTunes account.
Make a deal. - You get the dishes, I get the iTunes account.

  • Iphone and Itunes each has different AppleID. How to get Itunes on the phone?

My computer is a PC and I had an apple id, but didn't know it.  My phone gave me a new one with my new email address.  Now they don't match.  How do I put my Itunes music on my phone?
    Thanks!

My question led me to some other good questions.  I saw I can change the id in my phone to the one in my itunes.  I would rather let go the one in my itunes and change the itunes one to the one on the phone.  How can I do that?
    Thanks!

  • How best to manage AppleIDs for different countries?

We live in Canada, but have a recreational property in the U.S. where we spend several months each winter.
We use AppleTV in both locations, and as such, we have to have AppleIDs associated with both the US iTunes Store and the Canada iTunes Store (which of course means that we have to have credit cards in both countries, which we do).
This is frustrating as we often have to buy the same content twice so as to be able to watch it in two countries... but I understand that this is probably a content owner imposed issue about distribution rights, and not due to Apple.
We used to easily manage this by just switching the AppleID (& country of store) on our MacBooks as we travelled back and forth.
Then Apple introduced a constraint that one could no longer switch between AppleIDs on hardware such as MacBooks and iPads (I believe that one can switch to a new account any time, but cannot switch back to a previously used account until a period of time passes, which I believe used to be 90 days).
Now it seems that one cannot do these account reversals more often than one per year.
It seems like it is getting to the point that one has to have a portable hardware device for each country and use a different AppleID on each in order to have access while travelling to the content that one has paid for in the past.
This was not the case years ago when much of this content was purchased.
Further, when doing upgrades, it is easy when prompted to enter the "wrong" AppleID and then unintentionally lose access to the store in the country that one is currently in (now for up to a year!)
Is there a better way to manage one's accounts across different countries?
Given the constraints on AppleIDs, it is not something that is easy to figure out through experimentation.

We can start applications in a particular screen, since Snow Leopard, similar to what Linux has been able to do for some time; however, these screens are not really desktops, since we can't dedicate certain shortcuts/icons to only appear on certain screens.
Thanks, Eric.  Perhaps I wasn't clear in the above.  I realize we can start applications in certain desktops, but that is NOT what I'm after.
What I would like is the icons (i.e., shortcuts, directories, files) that appear on the desktop, to be different for each desktop.  Such that if I go to Desktop 2, I can place all my game icons/shortcuts there.  Then if I switch to Desktop 3, I might have all my Office programs there, but not my games.  Does that make sense?
Eventually I might also want my Dock to have different icons based on what desktop I'm using, but I figure that's even more difficult.

  • How can I send a book made from my iPhoto to a different country from mine?

    Hi,
My Apple ID is registered in Spain, I have made several calendars and books no problem. However, now that I want the book to be sent to Scotland, the page doesn't allow me to. I have tried several things:
    - Adding the Scottish address as default address
    - Change region of my Apple ID to UK
    - Saved all those changes, restart the computer
    ... but no success.
I would be very grateful if you could help me with this,
    Many thanks in advance,
    Rocio

The only way of doing it was changing the country of my apple ID and that meant erasing all the products bought from my Spanish ID (books, music, etc).
It is easier to create a different AppleID for  different countries than changing the main AppleID to a different county. Better keep your main AppleID as it is.
But you are right. The country restrictions are a nuisance in this world wide web of stores. It is so irritating. I am in Germany, and when I want to buy a book by an English author, I usually can only buy the German translation at the German Store, not the original version.

  • HT1206 we have only one computer and we are a family of four how do i keep my music apart from my kids music on itunes ? all of us have different id's and passwords but everytime we plug my iphone or their ipod touch we end up having the same apps ,games

how do I keep my music on itunes apart from my kids? everytime I connect my ipod to my computer I end up with a lot of apps and all thier songs on my iphone.

Do you mean you all have different AppleIDs?  But, do you also have different user accounts on the computer?
Simplest thing is just give everyone their own user account on the computer - they log into their account and sync their devices from only their account.  Keeps everything separate and neat.
