Different behaviour ABAP vs JAVA Runtime for mixed value in total row

(BW 7.01 Support package 08)
I hope you may have anr good idea on my issue as I couldn't find anything in OSS messages or other source to solve the issue.
Description:
I have a query ,where we calculate sales variance ( current versus prior year) over several countries. Country is shown in row, where so the key figures (3x) current sales, prior sales and sales variance is displayed in columns.
Issue:
Current and prior sales is not displayed on 'overall result' as the sum over all countries is a mixed value of different currencies and therefore is displayed as * value. This is totally correct.
However sales variance is displayed differently in ABAP Web runtme to JAVA WEB runtime
ABAP Web runtime -> mixed value is displayed as * value
JAVA Web runtime -> mixed values is calculated and displayed regardless of mixed currencies
So please let me know, if anyone had the same experience and would have a nice solution or hint for that issue

Hi Christian,
Did you check the display options in your Qurey Designer?
If you don't find, please use T-code RSRT may be you may find a helpful option.
Concerning the display of currencies, I think that you need to configure a parameter in T-Code SPRO.
finally, the support package 08 of you BW version is old, may be you need to upgrade it.
In my society, we resolved many issues by updating our support packages.
But ask your administrators about consequences before making it.

Alternatively launch the Java Preferences in the Applications/Utilities folder, that will prompt whether you want to install Java or not.
Software update isn't showing you anything because Java needs to be installed first, which it isn't by default. You either go through the Java Prefernces or download and install manually. After that Software Update will notify you of future updates for Java, although if you do that today with above methods you'll have the latest version

You can also use the kXML parser from the Enhydra organization (http://kxml.enhydra.org/). This is a package of XML parsing and DOM generation utilities specifically designed to run on small devices. Note, however, that to make it efficient for small devices, they are not W3C compliant.

Where can I get Java Runtime for photoshop CS4

I need to install Photoshop CS4 on my Mac Mini running Yosemite 10.10.1 but it requires Java Runtime, where can I download this software, better still is there another as good as photoshop software that does not require Java, anyone in the community have any ideas.
Meanwhile, I wish to thank the community for all there help in 2014 and all the other years. Happy New Year to each and everyone one of you that give us so much support, I look forward to learning more.

Seperate ABAP and JAVA stack for BI

Hi,
We already have running a ABAP stack with BI 7.0 on Oracle/AIX
We are now going to install the JAVA stack with the following software units (AS JAVA, EP, EPC, BI JAVA) to a seperate AIX server. I do have the following questions:
1.) The installation of the JAVA stack will also create a new database or is it possible to use/connect to the database of the ABAP stack
2.) How are we going to connect the ABAP server to the JAVA server. Will that be with JCO or RfC or something else.
3.) Installing the JAVA on a seperate server, how the handle the user store. Creating its own or can we use the user store of the ABAP such as in a dual stack installation ?
4.) Other issue's what is worth to mention

You can have different installation options.Amswers below
1)As you are installing in a different system It will create a sepatate database and the connection will happen through jco/rfc.
2) jco/rfc will be used for connection
3)User store will be selected according to the installation mode mentioned in the installation guide.

Connectivity between ABAP and Java Stacks for BI

Dear all,
our BI developer have to use BW Analyser for showing and changing of BW reports in Java based NetWeaver Portal.
Initially just ABAP stack (SID DCE) was installed. In Februar 2014 I installed also an Java Stack (SID JCE) and got dokumentation for
connection to ABAP Stack from SAP Support, it is attached. Further help from SAP Support is not possible, they mean that this
case belong to consultion issues.
Follow activities were sucessfully done:
1. RFC connection DMSAPERP4DEV_PORTAL_JCE was created in J2EE engine
2. RFC connection DMSAPERP4DEV_PORTAL_JCE was created for Portal
3. Portal Server Settings were maintained for portal
4. Singe Sign-In in BI was maintained
5. BI Certificate was imported from BI
6. Portal Certificae was exported from Portal
7. Portal Certificate was imported into BI.
By processing of attached SAP guide it was a problem at step 7 "Create BI System in the Portal"with the
creatig of BW system name. Under "System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape"
I found no systems which are maintained with the Portal Content Studio. I take a template "SAP_R3_Dedicated"
but can not change the system name to "SAP_BW", it is still "Dedicated Application Server for R/3 System". All other
properties was set fine.
At step 8 of mentioned guide I face the next problem - there is no system names under "SAP Reference System"
under "Administration -> System Configuration -> Configuration for User Management", because the system
name on the step 7 could be not set correct, so I can not choose any.
Please advice how to proceed here.

It clearly says the problem is with virtual memory. SO you need to change your virtual memory settings using configtool.
See the relevant note.940893
Make changes in the VM parameters for Bootstarp, Dispatched and the server nodes. Your -Xms should be less than equal to -Xmx.
Restart the cluster then.
It should work.

Java runtime for servers

Hello all,
not too familiar with these terms. I was wondering what does server runtime mean? Assuming i want to develop a SIP application server, what should i get in terms of runtime?
My understanding is that runtime is the JVM and it varies depending on the platform e.g. mobile devices use J2ME, regular PCs use JSE, etc. Is my understanding correct?
Any clarification would be very much appreciated?

Where do I get Java Runtime for Snow Leopard

I'm doing some design work for a programmer. and last month he told me that mine was probably outdated, and that I needed the latest JRE (version 7u5) to run his .jar app. I don't really want to use a PC for that...so I'm trying to get this running on my Mac.
I went to oracle's website and the latest update is for Lion, I don't know where to find the latest one compatible with now leopard. Does anyone where this is?
And another question, does anyone if that installing JRE if this could compromise the security of the Snow Leopard?

Why not? It's a simple thing to dual-boot and you get to run the appropriate Java JRE on your Mac. The only expense is the $20 Lion costs and the time to DL if from the MAS. Do note that you have to get a redemption code via e-mail from its online store's telesales agents: 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775. That allows you to run both OSs, get the job done, and, when finished, you can always erase the Lion volume, leaving you exactly where you are now. BTW, if you do DL Lion, quit the installer and save a copy of that Install Mac OS X Lion.app so you don't have waste resources DLing it again, either to reinstall it or recover it. The ill-designed installer deletes itself during the installation process.

There are various whitepapers and the like on this.
As far as which objects may be collected, it's just any object that isn't referred to - directly or indirectly - by one of the root set of threads in the JVM.
Collecting algorithms vary from jvm to jvm. You'd do better to search the web for a whitepaper on the subject.

Parameters for Java runtime for all users

We have a app that need this parameters:

How do I distribute this settings to all users running Windows?
What I can see is the settings i the users profile and I can not find any place to put this settings so that all users already running on that pc get it.

Create a shortcut on a mounted drive, the users run the app from the mounted drive.
Email all the users the shortcut as an attachment.
This is no elegant solution, though Web Start works well.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment wrong

I am changing my PATH (on NT4) for Java from JDK1.2.2 to JBuilder's JDK1.4, and get such error:
Registry key 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment' has value '1.4', but '1.2' is required.

You still have 1.2 jvm (run time). Download and install 1.4 runtime from sun and you should be ok.

Buggy java runtime in 10.1.2 AppServer ?

I'm using external jars (via java importer) within my forms app in 9.0.4 application server. After migration to 10.1.2 we have trouble with one of them. We found out, that using this jar in a 1.4.1_01 / 1.4.2_07 / 1.5.0_05 environment works fine. ONLY in 1.4.2_06 (this one from 10.1.2) we get exceptions. (SOAP Exceptions if using the soap.jar from jdev)
My question: How can I use another java runtime for these external jar's in webforms? Setting JAVA_HOME in default.env has no effect.
How about updating the AppServer-JDK?

unfortunately, this doesn't help. At this point we decided to update the JDK globally.
(1.4.2_06 -> 1.4.2_07)
This finally solved our problem.

in my project setup, I currently have defined two JRE entries.
Both of them show up in the Java Preferences installed JREs,
however, no matter what I do, it's always the 32-bit JRE that gets set as default.
Can I force the 64-bit JDK to be the default Java runtime for the workspace?
