Almost correct. The above mentioned options are in fact
included on the cd, but normally (production use!) you will
have to pay extra money for most of the options.
Using Oracle for Linux is planned to be free for developers,
if you want to drive your enterprise-wide database with
Oracle for Linux you will have to pay the same license fees
as for every other Un*x system. Don't even look at the prices
if your money bag isn't really fat ;-)

Robert.

  • Is SQL Server Express 2012 the same as Enterprise, BI and Standard?

We are a software company in the process of modifying code to work with SQL Server 2012 & 2014.  We are doing development work and testing on SQL Server Express 2012. (We plan to move to SQL Server Express 2014, soon.)  Is SQL Server Express
the same code as Enterprise, BI and Standard?   Will our tests and dev work be valid?  Should the need arise at a customer site, will SQL Server Express database migrate to Enterprise, BI or Standard?

    Hello,
Yes, you can use detach/attach or backup/restore. Alternatively, you may want to perform and edition upgrade
of an existing SQL Server instance when possible.

There is no "Grid Infrastructure 11gR3 Enterprise edition and Standard Edition", is only Grid Infrastructure 11gR2.
About Oracle Clusterware (Grid Infrastructure) licensing.
At least one of the servers in the cluster is licensed for Oracle Database (SE1, SE, or EE)
A cluster is defined to include all the machines that share the same Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) and Voting Disk.

    About Database licensing.
    http://www.oracle.com/us/products/database/enterprise-edition/comparisons/index.html
Note : Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC), is an option to Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition and included with Oracle Database 11g Standard Edition (on clusters with a maximum of 4 sockets).
If you move to Oracle EE you must purchase a separate licence to use RAC option
    About Installation:
Nothing changes on your current setup of Grid Infrastructure 11.2
Just install a new fresh installation of Oracle Database (On current clusterware) chosing E.E during Install. Configure the database/services to start from this new ORACLE HOME. Nothing change on Database all previous backup and features used still unchanged. Using this new Oracle Home new features are enabled to be used by your databases.

  • Differance betwwen alternative calculation type & condition base value.

    dear expert
wats the differance betwwen alternative calculation type & condition base value in pricing.
    vicky

    Hi,
AltCty - Condition formula for alternative calculation type:
It is an alternative formula for the condition type that can be used instead of standard formulas.
For example, let us take the Profit Margin which can be both + / - , so here this routine will help us in generating the value which can be either + or -. Profit margin is not a condition type so it cannot be classified as +ve or -ve in the V/06.Ex.: 950 0 Profit Margin 11. So we assign 11 - Profit Margin.
AltCBV - Alternative formula for condition base value:
Formula for determining the condition basis as an alternative to the standard.
It is used as a basis to calculate value of the condition type instead of using it from the "FROM" column.
Ex.: Freight - KF00. Freight is calculated based on weight, volume etc. and not on the base price. In pricing there is no entry of weight from which the value can be referred like we do for discounts using base price. We have to get the value from the Material master. In this column we can mention the value as 12 - Gross Weight or 13 - Net Weight.
During pricing, the system will consider the value that is mentioned in this column and determine the freight based on this value.
Suppose we have Net weight: 100 kgs and Gross Weight: 150 kgs. And if we mention 13 in this column then the Freight condition KF00 will be calculated using the weight as 100 kgs.
And both of them are routines written by APABers in VOFM.

    JJ

Looking at the times, I see this only takes a fraction of a second but my startup time is still much much longer than it ever was or should.
Does anyone have any idea on how to get rid of this? I deleted the Captive Network Assistant.app from my computer but the checking continues. It seems to be a rarely mentioned issue doing a web search, and nothing like this, although  it's referred to in certain articles.
    Really weird.
    Gregg

I'd take another look at your startup log.
If you look closely, you'll see that all those log messages occurred in the space of 30 milliseconds - by comparison, a human blink takes about 150 milliseconds.
So while I don't doubt you're seeing slow startup time, I don't think CaptiveNetworkSupport is the culprit, per se.
Fortunately, since every startup event is timestamped, it should be easy enough to determine what task is taking the most time.
As for CNS, it's not just an iOS thing - it's standard in Mac OS X, too. I'm also under the impression (but can't confirm) that it only checks the networks that you've previously connected to, so check System Preferences -> Network -> AirPort -> Advanced -> WiFi and delete any networks you no longer use or expect to connect to.

  • Dark areas in photos looks different in Loupe and Develope

First let me say that I´ve created a similar thread in lightroomforums.net.
Let me also add that I´ve made extensive research on the web and also read this post: Why does the color and or tone of my image change after import?
    This is my current setup.
    I run lightroom 5.6, OSX 10.10.
I have been shooting with a 7D or a EOS M in RAW, Adobe RGB With picture style set to standard and no JPG´s.
I have imported my photos as DNG´s with no develop settings applied and build previews set to 1:1 (I have tried different settings here).
I have my Catalog Settings / Preview Cache set to 2880 pixels, quality: High (I have also tried different settings here) (I have a very big screen)
    Now to my problem.
Now when I review my photos in 1:1 (or any other size) the dark areas looks good in develop module but when i go back to Loupe the dark areas have a slightly brighter, less contrast look.
This problem only occurs in the darkest parts and does not effect the rest of the image. The overall picture looks the same except for the very darkest parts.
I have tried different monitor calibration settings but the issue persists.
I have tried to create a new catalog, import some new shots but with no difference.
I have also done the same but instead of import to DNG´s I have copied the CR2´s, no difference.
I have tried to optimized the catalog and I have also "Update DNG previews and metadata", no difference.
When "edit file in photoshop CC" the version of the photo that opens in photoshop is the "Loupe" view.
This only happens with RAW/DNG files and not with TIFF or JPG.
Here is a picture that in my case looks very bad in Loupe view but significantly better in Develop View: Dropbox - IMG_3662.dng
I will also try to post two screendumps at 2:1 from the the two views. The picture with more darks in it is the screendump from the develop module and the less dark is from the loupe view.
Why is this occurring? How can I stop it?
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    UPDATE:
I have taken 4 new shots with the same setup as described above.
But with different color settings and picture styles.
    Adobe RGB - Standard
    Adobe RGB - Neutral
    sRGB - Standard
    sRGB - Neutral
With the same results. Dark areas look darker in Develope module.

  • Re: tracing execution and standard Forte messagefilters

    Pierre,
There is a tech note describing some of the trace flags that will show
you interpreter profile information. This interface, the information
produced, etc. may change in future releases that's why it's a tech
note and not in the documentation set.
    Hope this helps,
    Bobby
This note describes how to use the execution profile collector built into
    the Tool Interpreter.
NOTE: THIS INTERFACE IS UNSUPPORTED BUT IS MADE AVAILABLE AS IS TO USERS
UNTIL A SUPPORTED INSTANCE OF THE FEATURE EXISTS.
THE SUPPORTED VERSION WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT FUNCTIONALITY AND FORM.
The Tool Interpreter contains an execution profile data collector. The
    collection
information can be displayed as trace output or the raw data can be collected
by the program for further manipulation and display. This information
describes the current level of support available. It is possible that this
mechanism will be updated in future releases and/or integrated into the
    TOOL debugger.
The profiler only counts intructions executed in the interpreter, it doesn't
account for time spent in C++ code. However it is sill useful in finding
problems in interpreted code and for viewing the dynamic call flow of the
    application.
The following trace information is available:
    TRACE CALL-RETURN
This trace outputs a single indented line for each method call and
another single line for each method return. The line is indented an
amount equal to the call depth of the task calling the method. The
    following information is displayed:
    Task Id
    Task Name
    Method Name
    Method Instruction Count
    Task(Id=5,Name=InitialLom)Method(Name=Forte.TopClass.StartUp)
    Task(Id=5,Name=InitialLom)Method(Instructions=10)
This is enabled using trace setting trc:in:50:1.
This trace can also be used to see the control flow of an application.
    TRACE TASK BY METHOD
This trace outputs information about a task and all of the methods that
where called during it's execution. Each method contains information
about the number of times that the method was called and the total
number of instructions consumed by the methods execution. The task
contains the totals of all calls and instructions performed by the
task. The methods are sorted in descending order of instructions
    executed.

    Other potential future features:
The profiler doesn't record when some interpreted TOOL code invokes a method
on a object which in implemented in C++. This causes some profile
information to be lost. If the C++ code invokes a method that is
implemented as interpreted TOOL the BYCALLTREE profile will not show the
C++ code. Thus it could be confusing because it appears that the
interpreted code called something totally different than the what is
    expected.

There are two ways of doing it :
    1) add your own trace instructions (calls to the LogMgr) at the appropriate
    places,
    2) use the traces of the Forte Interpreter !
If one relies on solution 1, then it relies on what the developers have
written (and thus sometime forgotten to write !) in their code.
If one relies on solution 2, then potentially it can get as much information
as is available to the interpreter (and the debugger ?), in a fully
independant way since it uses directly the code itself and not added trace
    instructions.
So solution 2 seems quite interesting.
Unfortunately there are some potential problems :
    a) I haven't found in the documentation an exhaustive description of the
logs the Forte tools do. The only and very short description is on page 148
of the System management Guide. It's far from being exhaustive. So it
    requires playing with the filters.
I recommand trying trc:in:1-63. I guess "in" stands for the interpreter.
    - level 1 seems to give the call tree,
    - level 255 seems to give almost the code !
    b) since the flags are not documented by Forte, how reliable and stable will
they be in future versions ?
    c) what happens for compiled partitions is not clear to me (I have not tried
    it yet).
So my question : are the message filters used by the Forte Tools like the
interpreter described somewhere, i.e. in some Tech Note (I don't have access
    to them yet) ?

    Pierre Gelli,
level 255 is the most detailed you are right on tracing..... As for documentation
you will want to get ahold of several good tech notes that your Forte
rep or support can get you which provide alot of the info you are after.
Let me know if you can't do this and I can send you some of this info, but you are
best to get the latest and greatest directly from Forte.

  • Enterprise? Standard?

What's the difference between Enterprise Edition and Standard
    Editon?
I've thought Enterprise Ed. would be bigger than Standard, but
    it wasn't.
I wanna know what's the difference between Enterprise Edition
    and Standard Edition
    null

    Mainly scalability and reliability.
Enterprise Edition (in general, not specificly Linux) comes with
more reliability options such as replication and redundancy,
allowing for fault tolerance and/or faster recovery in a
disaster, as well as performance enhancements such as parallel
servers/querying, not to mention the added priviledge of paying
five times as much per user license than workgroup edition. So,
basically, with regular 8i, you lose certain backup and recovery
(point-in-time tablespace recovery, incremental backups, etc)
options, redundancy (standby database, replication, etc) options,
performance (parallel servers/queries, other types of indeces,
etc), security (row-level security, Advanced Security option,
etc) options, plus other misc things.
Certain "pay extra" options are also only be available for EE,
such as the tuning pack, spatial data, advanced security, etc.

  • Difference Between Enterprise and Personal Editions?

    Hi All,
I want to install Oracle 9i on Window XP Pro. I am wondering what is the difference between the Enterprise Edition and the Personal Edition? Do they both come with the Enterprise Manager clients that I am used to using?
    Any advice much appreciated.

    Hi Alex,
You can get the information from the "doc" directory in the "disk1". If case you do not have it, I had copy it here for you. Hope it can help you to know more about the differences before choosing which one to install. I too have the tough time deciding until I came across this information.
Enterprise Edition: If you select this type, Oracle Universal Installer installs a preconfigured seed database, networking services, licensable Oracle Options, database environment tools, the Oracle Enterprise Manager framework of management tools, including Console, Management Server, and Intelligent Agent, Oracle utilities, and online documentation. It also installs those products most commonly used in data warehousing and transaction processing environments.
Standard Edition: If you select this type, Oracle Universal Installer installs a preconfigured seed database, networking services, Oracle Enterprise Manager framework of management tools, including Console, Management Server, and Intelligent Agent, and Oracle utilities.
Personal Edition: If you select this type, Oracle Universal Installer installs the same software as the Enterprise Edition installation type, but supports only a single user development and deployment environment that requires full compatibility with Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition.

  • Upgrade from CF 8 to CF 10 Enterprise or Standard?

Trying to decide whether to go with CF10 Enterprise or Standard. If we were to develop our web applications using the additional features that only Enterprise provides and a client wants to host the site on their own server, would they have to be licensed for CF 10 Enterprise to be able to use the added features of our application or would they be able to run the cheaper CF 10 Standard version?
