Different Business Cases where SAP needs to be Inegrated with outside world

Hello Experts,
Can I get some info, where SAP R/3 needs to be integrated with out side world(Business Flows) that are most commonly used in all industrial sectors.
Inrgraton either with XI/PI or any other Interation tolls in the market.
Thanks & Regards,
Srikanth

Dear Srikanth,
Please go through the link:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/46d6c25d-0b01-0010-06a9-8e8218753c02
Traditionally, integrating SAP applications with the outside world used to be extremely difficult, due to limited interfacing provided by SAP. EAI vendors like IBM and webMethods addressed this business need, providing SAP adapters as part of their integration offerings. Recently, SAP has also addressed this issue through its SAP Net Weaver/XI offering.
Please let me know in case of any spcific queries.

Rakesh

  • Business case

    HI SAP-XI Guru,
can you please discuss some business cases where we
need SAP-XI in real time project.
    Thanks & Regards
    Krishna

    Hello,
For example you want to exchange data between SAP and Database
    SAP and Non SAP
In general if you need to communicate between two hetergoneous systems it can be done through middleware (Which is EAI ) and PI is SAP product.

  • Provide me a business senario where we have to use muiltple BAPIs

    Dear Friends,
I am calling Bapis in Sap using  JCo calls and creating instance in the SalesOrder object .And now i want to test calling multiple Bapis to achieve a business requirement. So pls friends with ur experience provide me a  nice business situation where we need to call muiltiple Bapis in a particular sequence and then Commit it.
Pls Do Tell Me ,Whether I have To Commit after Each Bapis Call
Or at last one Commit for all the Bapi calls we do the  Work.
    Waiting for ur responses.
    Thx
    jeevan

    Hi kumar
If u want to update the data in the transaction which is dealing with multiple tables then we go for multiple BAPI's.
Usually for huge data updation we use multiple BAPI's.
    For example.
To update the batch characteristics in the transaction msc2n we want to use multiple BAPI's.  suppose u have the material, batch and the plant as a header item which has a ration of 1:1 and for this header item u have n numbers of characteristics to update which is of different Behavior. then we want to use multiple bapi's.
No need to call commit after each bapi. U can code it at last.

  • Integration between SAP business one to SAP CRM, CRM to ECC 6.0

Scope: We have been told to prepare Integration process which is a part of out project plan. Here we have 2 business cases where our SAP XI comes into picture.
    1.     SAP business One talks to SAP CRM through XI to exchange DMS business data.
    2.     SAP CRM talks to SAP ECC 6.0 through XI to exchange master data.
Suggestions:  What kind of adapters (includes proxies) do we prefer to get the data transferred in both cases with high performance level.
Appreciate your response with proper reward points.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hello,
you can use Proxies for performance benefit for transsferring data between CRM to XI and ECC to XI system.
Also you can use ALE -IDOC communication between your ECC system and XI for master data communication

    Hi All,
I am quite new to sap-xi. i have practised some of the scenarios that can be done with xi.
I was just trying to visualise some of the real time business requirements where SAP XI is used.
    For example
Some may have used Sap XI to transform data between file server and SAP system or may a web serve asking for details from sap system to display datas or some times sap xi systems sits betweem an integration server (like biztalk etc) and sap system.
Can anyone of you can give me some of the real time requirements you have dealt with over the years
in terms of business functionality and servers involved in the whole system?
    Thanks

  • Master Data Governance - The Business Case

Hi, I'm trying to help out with getting a business case for improved Master Data Governance over the line ;  It's fairly easy to work out the ITs costs of fixing Master Data related tickets ; it's not so easy to determine the overall opportunity cost to the business of poor MD Governance ; should I take a sampling approach ? How would you go about it ? Thanks in advance John.

    Hello,
Not sure what sampling approach is, but it certainly help build a business case if you can provide sample data and case studies.
You may refer the SAP Provided PDF and presentations, to build your Business Case.

  • Business scenarios where PO/GR/INV documents dates in past

    Hi buddies,
Can someone please give me some business scenarios where we need to feed the PO/GR/INV document dates in past.
    Regards,
    Sachin Narvekar

    Hi,
    1. You can post an invoice to the last period of the previous year. The procedure is the same as for posting to the previous period.
You must note the following feature: If you post an invoice receipt before the goods receipt to the previous year, a balance results on the GR/IR clearing account. Since you cannot post a goods receipt to the previous year, this item cannot be cleared in the previous year. The open item is carried over into the current fiscal year as a balance carried forward; it can then be cleared by the goods receipt posting.
    2. If the stock value shanges...
    3. Price change...
    4. Account Balancing ..in banking..
    Hope it helps..

  • SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe with SAP CRM

    Hello community,
I'm sure most of you would have seen the exciting videos showcasing the use of SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe with SAP CRM 2007 & SAP CRM 7.0. In case you haven't, you can find a couple of them [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d05bc7e9-0183-2a10-17ab-cf77195fcdec] and [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00fddbc0-e3c9-2b10-05b4-dd1aced4ad12].
What I would like to ask of the community here is to share some of the experiences and feedback regarding the use of SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe with different business processes in SAP CRM, be it order managemnt, activity management or business partner management. Any implementation examples would be great!
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi again
I solved the problem by installing the Adobe Designer 7.1.
Now my next problem is that I have no ADS (Adobe Document service).
That makes sense to my Adobe forms newbi brain. My guess is that the ADS must run on the JAVA stack and my testdrive is a ABAP stack only.
My next shot will be to install an JAVA testdrive on top of my ABAP testdrive and see what happens.

  • Should SAP seek out "negative" business cases from knowledgeable SCN'ers

A few years ago, I had the privilege of contributing a "positive" SAP business case to Mark Yolton's dossier (it had to do with the help that SCN'ers gave me during two real development crises caused by my client's HQ getting nosy in a way that the client didn't expect.)
My question now is the following.
By fortunate or unfortunate coincidence, I currently have a ringside seat to an amazing drama in which an upstart "agile nimble" product is beating the pants off a less-than-agile/less-than-nimble product that SAP recently acquired.  This drama is unfolding at a major US organization, and involves the organization site-licensing the "agile nimble" product for units of the organization to develop stuff on their own that they would literally have to wait months or years to get if they asked the organization's IT team to try and create the same stuff with the "dinosaur" product.  (Plus, believe it or not, SAP's dinosaur is actually lacking many features that come "standard" with the new upstart product.)
This situation is not pleasant to watch ... I am not only professionally committed to SAP, but think very highly of the company (with some relatively minor differences of opinion), and I hate to see the SAP product trounced at this organization because SAP apparently can't see the writing on the wall (or which way the wind is blowing, if you prefer a '60's metaphor from the last century.)
So - I am sure that I'm not the only SCN'er who's in this situation - i.e. not the only SCN'er who has the opportunity to be a first-hand witness to a business case that isn't working out well for SAP.
And if this is the case, shouldn't SAP be seeking out SCN'ers who can provide first-hand accounts of why and how an SAP product is doing poorly rather than well?  (Think here of the model of the Weather Channel, with its network of committed viewers who send in bulletins, photos, etc, in severe weather emergency situations.)
Or should SAP emulate the ostrich (i.e., stick its head in the sand) and choose not to obtain "early warning signals" from SCN "eyewitnesses"?
Is that question "loaded" enough for everyone?  I hope so, because SCN'ers could provide a valuable source of free valuable information that SAP would have to pay marketing consulting firms some pretty hefty fees to otherwise obtain.

    Stephen - you wrote:
The only problems I can think is how does a company know that the person reporting it, is not a competitor trying to throw you off course or some other person with less than pure intentions than reporting what they have seen.
And it's funny that you see the problem in that direction, but not the problem in the other direction, i.e. the problem with relying on info directly from clients.
Here's just one of many reasons why SAP can't really rely on info directly from clients.
Assume some outfit has been using a certain SAP product for many years, and furthermore, that the champions of this SAP product within the outfit are all relatives of Dilbert's famous character Mordor ("Preventor of Information Technology)".
Assume also that one important reason these Mordors like  the SAP product is because they know it will help them keep their own locked-down centralized control of IT (relative to both data access and new development).
Finally, assume also that there are champions of some new upstart "nimble/agile" competitor to SAP's product within the same outfit. i.e. a group of folks who have actually used the new upstart product to jumpstart IT development that the Mordors would either never do, or take years to do.
Who do you think SAP is going to be able to talk to if it approaches this outfit for feed-back?
Do you really think the Mordors will ever let SAP near the champions of the new upstart product?
If you do, I've got the proverbial ocean-front property in AZ and the Brooklyn Bridge to sell you.
What SAP should be doing in this case is licensing the nimble upstart as a reseller and figuring out how to feed this upstart from the SAP "centralizing" product, i.e. let each product do what it does best.
But SAP will never ever learn that this is what it should do if it listens to the "client" in this case.
Because all it will hear is the chant of the Mordors.
    Best
    djh
PS - and remember also the classic Cold War scenario, where the Soviet military had much in common with the US military in the sense that they both wanted to maximize their shares of the overall national budgets.  In the same sense, there are probably plenty of Mordors inside SAP who are only too happy that SAP will only hear from the Mordors at the client in the above case.  The internal SAP Mordors don't want to have to rethink their Weltanschauung, do they ?

  • Business-use-cases for SAP BusinessObjects BI in Sports

I have been scouring various SAP resources to find any information on SAP BOBJ in Sports and Entertainment. Do you know of any specific use-cases where BOBJ can help professional sports team franchises, specifically within the Finance LOB? I.e. using analytics to increase ticketing revenue or gain meaningful insights into operations.
