Different but identical installations
I've not seen one like this on here yet and please bear with me:
I have 2 installations of CC, 1 on an iMac and the other on a MacBookPro. Both machines are running OSX 10.8.4. I installed the new CC version (now running 1.0.0.181) via a simultaneous download (I didn't download on 1 machine and copy across) and installed all the available apps.
On my iMac I now have a Launchpad icon for PhotoshopCC and CC but not for Encore - Encore also does not show under Applications under Finder.
On my MBP there is no icon for CC (although it is in the menu bar at the top, so I can live with that), but Ps has vanished - it was there yesterday but not today! It is visible under Applications but not within Launchpad - that is annoying, I don't want to have to open up Finder everytime I want to run an app. Also on my MBP I DO have an icon for Encore CS6 and it shows within Applications.
One other confussing issue is that the app updates seem to come at different times to each machine - sometimes one will have an update and the other won't at all.
For neatness (and to satisfy my OCD) I'm trying to have 2 machines that work in the same way and look as similar to each other as possible (the sync settings helps with that - simple idea but really helpful, thanks for that Adobe).
Overall CC is working fine and I'm happy with it and think it is a huge step forward for people like me who just couldn't afford to buy all this software on an individual basis, but any advice on these annoyances would be great.
Oh and I'm also getting that annoying close-down pop-up that somebody else has mentioned on both Macs, but it doesn't seem to stop the machines closing.
Further to above - I've sorted the Encore CS6 issue on the iMac, but the other stuff I need help with still.

Different behavior of installer depending on language
Related to my efforts to have a more informative installer message when someone re-runs the same installer (see this thread), I have encountered a language-specific difference that seems fishy.
If I build two installers of the same app, one with English as the installer language and the other with Simplified Chinese as the installer language, I get a different message if I run the English installer after the Chinese one. It refuses to install, and it says: Cannot Install. <appname> Files (higher version already installed)
That is a fairly informative message - more so than the usual "no software will be installed or removed" message that arises when one re-runs the exact same installer. But it does not seem correct.
The strange thing is that nominally the packages are the same version, and the English one was built after the Chinese one, so if there were any auto-incrementing that would not explain it. A peek at the setup.ini shows near-identical content with a different Package GUID in the [Distribution] section, a differernt [Localization} section and different GUIDs in the [Parts] section.
I'm planning to just ignore the behavior - but I'm a bit uneasy that it is a sign of potential bigger issues.

Go to Solution.For some reason, when the versions of the installers are the same, but the installer languages are different, you get the same message that would be displayed if the installed application's version was higher. Note that, in general, if you try to install a different build of the distribution with the same version number, it will proceed with the installation. When the installer language is different, though, it does not install. I've filed a bug report (#323423) to address this inconsistency.

I am unable to reinstall Photoshop CS6 (I do have the serial number) on my Macbook Pro 10.9.5 (Mavericks os). and am getting the message "Installation on case-sensitive volumes is not supported. Please choose a different volume for installation." I am further told that "Adobe apps cannot be installed on case-sensitive drives, you need to Install the product onto an HFS+ or HFSJ non-case-sensitive drive."
What I don't understand is this: I originally bought and installed Photoshop CS6 back in March 2013, and it worked fine. Yesterday my hard drive had to be replaced and my computer person salvaged as much of what was on it as he could, but now I have to reinstall Photoshop. 1) Why did it work before and it's not working now? 2) Is there anything I can do that does not involve reformatting the hard drive?It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.

Got the answer to the identity installation error 80003 blackberry app world
***hi guys I have found the resolution for the error "Blackberry identity installation failed 80003" here's the answer: Go on your blackberry menu and select "Options" Select "Advanved Options" then select "TCP/IP" then tick the fi...rst box that says "APN Settings Enabled" Then on the second row next to APN type 'internet'. Exit and save the settings and try to open the App world again. You have to reboot your phone. After that your App world will work again :-)
Not sure if this will help, but a lot of people having problems with the BB ID update manage to get it working by doing the update when your wi-fi is on and connected. Give that a go and see if it works, otherwise you might be able to use an older version of AppWorld - you can get one (browse on your phone) at http://santo.asia/repository/bb-file/BlackBerryAppWorld.3.0.1.29.OS5/AppWorld.jad

I'm trying to run the installer for firefox on widows 8, but the installer doesn't start.
Earlier today I tried to run Firefox and it didn't start, so I went and uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall it, but the installer would not pop up. But in the task manager I see Firefox 32bit installer is there.I've tried running it with my antivirus off. The installer worked before, and I was able to run Firefox. None of the other programs I've download are doing this.
please run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx microsoft safety scanner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan]. also make sure that your security software isn't blocking the installation of firefox though...

Design for a small but secure installation

My company is starting a migration from dovecot on Linux using OpenLDAP to Microsoft Exchange using Active Directory. We have fewer than 10 employees, want to self-host and want a secure design that won't break the bank. I originally thought
to have the mailbox server running on one of the two domain controllers and the client access running on a separate server in the DMZ. I've started to re-think this in favor of two independent servers.
Is there a design document out there on options for where to place which server in different scenarios? I see lots of information about large enterprise installations but nothing much for the small but secure installation. Management is set on having
Exchange in-house, so hosted Exchange, no matter how much "more better" that would be, is not an option.

According to your description, I know that you want to migrate to Exchange server on AD from IMAP server.
If it is the case, I suggest check following articles:

Blackberry Identity installation failed - Please help
Hi I recently upgraded my blackberry app world and received the following message after reboot:
Blackberry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80003)
I am unable to access the blackberry app world at all. I have downloaded the latest version again from the Blackberry website, and still this 80003 error persists. Each time I try it is the same, suggesting that the 'server' that is supposed to veryfiy or install this item is faulty, offline, or does not exist.
How do I solve this problem?pease help,
thanksI have been having the very same problem but to no avail. I have even tried registering my Blackberry ID on the desktop but all user names seems to be in use; even the simplest of simplest.

Could you please let me know what version of OS are working on.
You might receive this error when you attempt to install on a drive with the HFS+ Case Sensitive file system, which is not supported for installation of Adobe Creative Suite 6.
So, please try installing on a drive that has been formatted with a supported file system.

Have you not got the music on your computer and/or on backups on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs ?

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." When I then tried to run iTunes (assuming that, since the new install failed, my older version was still OK) I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114". I tried then uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it fresh, but encountered the same problems. Help!

Repair youe Apple Software Update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install.
If you don't find ASU in All Programs, go to Control Panel, Add & Remove Programs. -
i was going to upgrade from 10.6.8 to mavericks 10.9.2, but the installer program notified me stating my appleworks 6 app will not run on the new set up. is there a procedure to keep or switch my documents in order to obtain the mavericks upgrade?

I suggest that you clone your current drive with 10.6.8 to an external drive. If you have any issues after upgrading to Mavericks, you can boot back into 10.6.8.

How do i stop photoshop cs4 from quitting unexpectedly when saving a photoshop pdf? i attempted to download the adobe drive 5 but the installation keeps failing. I went through the process of clicking through the how to's and the troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that I need to install the adobe drive 5 but I can not complete the installation. I may be incorrect on this so I need immediate assistance as I have poster and ad deadlines. I also tried disabling the gatekeeper and solution 3 on the troubleshooting of slow saving on photoshop.

Thank you!Are you attempting to save the file to a network location instead of your local hard drive? If so, this is probably why you are encountering an issue and why Adobe Drive would be the solution. As we've documented, it is a bad idea to open from or save directly to a network source: Networks, removable media | Photoshop | CS4 and later. Drive can help you get around this by setting up an Adobe supported virtual connection to the network. Thus, if installing Adobe Drive is the solution you need and your need help with installing Drive, please post to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
If you are not saving to a network location, then Adobe Drive is not going to be the answer. Then we'll need to know more about the file you are saving. -
Okay - just realised that the last screen was just asking for a "title" for my question!
I have Adobe Acrobat XI standard, but would like to trial the "compare documents" feature on Pro. I tried to download a trial version of Pro, but the installer indicated that "it detected a more fully featured version of the product" - presumably my standard version? - and stopped installation. It is not clear to me what my options are for either upgrading to Pro, or selectively purchasing the "compare documents" plugin (if possible). I am using what is presumably an Enterprise version of acrobat (i.e. my employer owns it, not me) - so not sure what limitations that results in. I think this is a simple question, but would be grateful for advice.- You can't install Acrobat Pro alongside Acrobat Standard. You will need to remove Standard to be able to install Pro.
- You (probably) can't upgrade your license if it's a part of an enterprise license. The entire license will need to be upgraded.
- It's not possible to install just the "Compare Documents" function as a sort of add-on to Acrobat Standard.
