Different colored screens

Hello, both my friend and I own Iphone 4's. When we look at our screens, they look completely different. His has a very visible yellow tinted screen, and mine is more 'white' looking. I will post an image as soon as I can, but is this normal? Why are the screens such different colors?

the yellow tint on the screen that you mention could be the adhesive that hasn't been fully dried when it came out of the production line. Normally, as genius would also say is to try to use it for a week, and if it doesn't disappear you can go get a replacement, but they should dry out. So give it a week.

Different colored screen on start up

Recently when I open my computer, the screen comes up in different colors of light blue, green, yellow and a few others. It looks sort of like a tie-die shirt. The first time it lasted about 5 seconds, the second time about 20 seconds and the third time I turned off the computer and restarted it because I did not think it was going to clear up. You can make out the proper screen in the background, but not very well. Any guesses?

Please don't understand me wrong but in your first posting you didn't offer any single useful information. To be honest I don't understand what happen exactly.
Either take a little bit time and explain us the problem or go to service, put the notebook in front of them and show technicians what happen exactly.

Take it in for repair or exchange. Be prepared to write a pretty big check unless you bought AppleCare+.

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task:

It will be one or the other dependant on what is found when they analyse the iPhone

No. They will not. The replacement will be identical to the old one. You always have the option of buying a brand new phone for the full retail price.

first try a different usb cable, remove all other usb devices, and try a different port in back on desktops if possible. if no luck see these

I switched the usb port and did the whole recovery holding of the buttons ect... And it worked, the computer detected the phone and i was able to click restore. However, the computer says preparing iphone for restore and it is still doing the restarting thing where the apple fades away and then comes back like it is restarting. If i can somehow get past this i will be able to go back to factory settings and resolve my problem, but this is where i am stuck.

Multiple different colored vertical lines all over screen?

I have quite a few different color vertical lines across my screen. They are yellow, purple, blue, green etc. It started with just one or two and now there is probably close to 75, some tightly grouped and others here and there. Can anyone tell me what it is? Is my video card going out or something? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

I have a single red vertical line down the very left edge of the screen of my 2006 17" MacBook Pro. It has appeared over the last day or so and is there most of the time, although it occasionally disappears for a short while.
Do you think this could be a similar issue?

DUAL MONITOR BUG: One Picture – One Monitor – Different Colors!

There have been several threads discussing that Photoshop CS4 and OS 10.6. show wrong colors in dual monitor setups.
The first one to prove this with a screen capture was jb510-LJ0JJQ in August 2009: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2207312#2207312
Eight months and three OS updates later the problem is still there and makes professional work with more than one monitor a nuisance.
Here's another actual example: A picture and its 100% identical copy showing different colors on one screen!
Here's how to repeat it – try this at home ;-)
1) In the finder make a copy of a rgb picture.
2) Open one of the two identical pics in photoshop.
3) Drag it to the other monitor.
When releasing the mouse button you may see the bug already: the colors will "switch".
4) To verify this go to system presets - monitors - and change the primary monitor (by dragging the menu bar to the other)
5) Now open the identical copy you made in step 1) and see the difference!
Here's a synopsis of suggested workarounds:
1) disable open GL (which seem to makes no difference on my setup)
2) click "desaturate monitor colors" but set desaturation to 0 (which prevents visual switching in step 3) (only if openGL is ON) but also leads to a wrong display in step 4+5
3) make the hardware calibrated monitor your default monitor and strictly avoid changes or dragging pics to the other monitor (which seems to be the only reliable method)
4) some guys even force both monitors to use the profile of their hardware-calibrated monitor (using color sync) to make sure they see what they should see on at least that one monitor. What a stone-age workaround for the the world's leading imaging program!
Considering that reliable colors in professional (=multi monitor) settings should be the most basic function of photoshop this mayor malfunction should be solved with CS5! Otherwise we might have to live with it for some more years...
Have Adobe and Apple realized this bug and on their agenda? Will it be gone with OS 10.6.3? Can anyone explain the reasons for this bad bug? Is there a "officially" recommended workaround?

But man, this is no minor bug! Consistent colors are the by far most important basic function of photoshop. If you cannot rely on the colors in photoshop you can as well use "Preview" and "Word" for print production ;-)
Carson, how did Apple react to your complaint? What do you mean with "they don't get it". Do they not see it? Or can't they get it right?

Yes. Well, sort of: instead of a "path", set the pen tool to "shape" in the tool properties. Then set the fill colour to transparent, and the stroke colour to the colour you want. You can also set the stroke width.
Not perfect, but at least you can see the path more clearly - the anchor points and handles still remain the default colour. Open the path panel, and right-mouse click the path shape to create a selection based on that shape. The Paths panel menu also allows you to create work paths based on that shape.
Unfortunately when you try to move the handles the black thin outline appears again until you release the mouse button.
This is one of several things that works better in Photoline: in Photoline, once the path is set to a specific colour, editing the path uses the actual colour and stroke width. which is extremely handy for creating path based selection with awkward background colours and/or a high resolution screen. In Photoline the handles and bezier points are also much, much larger, which makes it rather simpler to work with as well - especially on a higher resolution screen. And when selected the handles and points are a clear red with a black outline - again easier to spot and identify. I just works better, in my opinion.

Colored Screens

I was downloading the IOS 6 on my iPod Touch 4g when it crashed. It has had a blue screen on it ever since last year and we can't get it to work. I have even restarted it by holding down the home and lock botton at the same time over and over again, but it shows the apple logo and comes back with a different color each time. I have even tried charging it after like this website says but nothing works. What do I do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I've got some students who noticed that Illustrator and Photoshop display completely different colors on screen for eactly the same RGB values despite Color Settings being synchronized.
Settings are:
CSF: North American Web/Internet (RGB color space = sRGB),
Proof Set-up: Internet Standard sRGB
Proof Colors turned On.
RGB Values: R=0 G= 162 B=211
But colors displayed are not close between Ai and Ps.
With Proof Colors turned off, both apps display the colors reasonably closely.
I teach Photoshop and Print Color Management, so I admit my knowledge of how Illustrator handles screen proofing and proof set-ups for screen destinations is not comprehensive.
I expect I'm missing some difference in the two apps' behaviour.
Any info from anyone experienced in this corner of the field appreciated.

Bad versions also for different color and contrast!!!!! Help

the master sharper than version is an issue for me also knowing that is due to antialiasing in monitor scaling (I print 200+ sport shoots in 1 hour at the end of ski races after racers seen them on monitor and give me ok for print - and need a fast but good software).
But further to this my AP2 on MBPro show the message "Proofing Profile: Apple RGB" at the bottom of the viewer for each image. If I press P key for Quick preview the message disappear but the master images is much more contrasted, darker, and of a different color (and sharper) but much more good than version!!!??? How can i work on a so bad version and also in full screen mode!
Speed is now good, but if no more good suggestion will arrive Ill'be compelled to swich back immediately to 1.5.6 or try again Adobe LR.

You've turned on on-screen proofing. Go to View>Onscreen Proofing to turn it off.
