Different content from time of purchase

So yesterday, I decided to buy The Wire season 1 from iTunes based on the fact that the 'preview' showed it was in 16:9 (widescreenformat). Last night, I downloaded one episode to confitm that it was indeed widescreen, and it was.
However, today, when I try to download the other episodes, it is NOT in 16:9, but rather in 4:3 (non-widescreen). When I 'preview' it, it is not in widescreen - in fact, when i try to download the same episode i did last night, it is also in 4:3, not widescreen.
Can somebody tell me whats going on? Is there a fix to this? The only reason I bought i from iTunes was because it is in widescreen format.

It is normal for the Touch to come out of the box with an uncharged battery. Even if it were charged, it will do nothing directly out of the box (aside from show the iTunes plug-in graphic). It has to be plugged into a computer/iTunes before it can be used in any way.

Restore to different disk from Time Machine backup

Using Snow Leopard. I installed a larger hard disk in my Macbook Pro just over a week ago, and kept the old disk. Time Machine had worked before the update and continued to work after the update. So I did another week of work and created new documents, etc. hopefully all backed up.
Then the new larger hard disk crashed, so I had to revert to my old disk which still had the old data on it. The old disk was named xxx180 and the new disk large disk xxx500. The user name and account name were the same on both.
With the old disk now back, if I look into Time Machine, I can only see backups containing data from dates previous to the upgrade, but all of those files are already on my disk. The later dates are there in time machine, but they have no files.
I have tried migration assistant, but it says that I can't have 2 user accounts with the same name - I don't want to re-create the account, just restore a few files.
I have booted from the Snow Leopeard disk and gone into Disk Utility to 'restore from Time Machine', but it says that the large disk information is 475 GB and will not fit onto the old small disk. I know that I only added a few documents and that they shoud fit on the spare space on the old small disk. The difference is only a few days of important text documents.
Can I see the backup files on the Time Machine disk other than through the Time Machine application?

Is there a file browser which can play DVD contents from Time Capsule?

Using File Manager (free Zheng) app I can reach all my files on the Time Capsule (3TB) from my iPad Air2 (64GB). Also I am able to play video content MP4. So far so good.
However I have also several DVD VOB files of homevideo. These I can play on my iMac using DVD player or VLC.
Is there a way to play the DVD content just as easy as the MP4 files do on my iPad? Most file browser do not support this.
I have read a solution to perform it via a server via my iMac. However this is not to my liking.
Should it be possible to re-direct a file URL to lets say VLC player like Stratospherix filebrowser can do?
Is there a good file browser which can play VOB DVD contents?
Can anybody help me before buying several apps and perform the trial and error method ?

I'd recommend File Explorer (orange icon on the iOS app store) - find your NAS with it and try and play your media. It has a video decoder built in so should be able to handle your MP4s. If not, Plex is very good - but would require £2.99 and your Mac to be on when you wanted to watch on your iPad. Let me know how you get on.

Transferring content from Time capsule

I backed up our computers on Time Capsule. Our Imac has crashed and I need to access the backup files from that computer ( on the Time Capsule ) How can I do it. I tried Migrating assistant but it didn't transfer my photo library. How can I access those files ?

Migration Assistant should have transferred everything (unless you omitted things).
By default, the iPhoto Library is in the Pictures folder of a home folder, but some folks move it.
Normally, Time Machine only shows the backups for the Mac it's running on, so to see the ones for a different Mac, you'll need the Browse... option, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #17.
Since you're on Lion, if you have iPhoto '11 you can't browse or restore individual photos. See the pink box in FAQ #15.

Restore Individual Package Contents from Time Machine Backup

Sorry to have put this in the wrong forum, but I posted the question some time ago in the Time Machine forum and have had no responses...hence giving this a go.
I'd like to be able to restore individual photos from iPhoto in order to test backups without restoring the whole of my photo library. Is it possible to do this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks for your reply. I've had a go, but unfortunately that still doesn't work. Rather than the iPhoto Library folder being a regular folder (like it was in previous versions...I'm currently running version 8.1) it is a package, so that in order to see its contents, you have to right-click it to see the dated folders inside it.
This is fine in the regular Finder window, but in the TimeMachine screen, the right-click function is disabled, so I can't see any way of selecting the specific date that would enable me to restore only one or two photos....it might be that this is a problem I need to contact Apple about.
Finally, can I just say it did amuse me to see that Mr. Dee was helping Mr. Gee (puerile I know).

Even after disabling in app purchases (General > Restrictions) and setting the password requirement to 'immediately', I tried another in app purchase (for a smaller amount) and again it went straight through without asking for a password.

Restore data to different laptop from time machine

Hello! All my data from my old macbook was saved in TM on an external HD. Now I bought a macbook air and would like to restore some of my old data from the external HD (TM) to my new laptop. The air has less memory than the old macbook had. How to choose the data I need for restoration onto my macbook air?

Apple does not make a device suitable directly to do what you want.
There are NAS devices from the big three that provide proper raid disks, mirrored backup, rsync and itunes servers.. although the itunes may not do what you need. Netgear Synology Qnap.
But the solution often adopted by Apple fanbois.. is to use a Mac Mini as a media centre. You don't need a brand new one.. even a 2ghz C2D from a few years ago will work well enough.. you need to add disk capacity via firewire.. would be preferred as it is much faster than USB.

With your traveling, the mini's smaller size might be better for you unless you need the10 inch screen. Otherwise it's more of a personal preference. Going to a store that has a display model of both and playing around with them should give you a good idea.

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these). Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above. As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library.

Can you download online content (extra titles, menus, etc) to a different computer from where Premiere Elements 13 is installed, and then transfer it to the offline computer where PE13 is installed?
I purchased a new computer and installed Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements 13 while I had the computer connected to the internet. I no longer have the computer online, so can I download the extra content to a different computer, then transfer it to the offline computer where Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements are installed?

The Content download is only from within the opened project/program (disc menu display - customization area) and requires an Internet connection.
When it comes to Content download, you should be able to transfer the Online Folder (with all its content already downloaded) on computer 1 to a USB Flash Drive and use that USB Flash Drive for the replacement of the existing Online Folder in computer 2. Please see details...

This all depends on the content in Online Folder from computer 1 being downloaded from within the program. All the blue bans in the upper right corner of the display thumbnails gone before transferring Online Folder from computer 1 to USB Flash Drive.

Migrating content from an encrypted Time Machine external disk (will not easily work)

I recently purchased an SSHD to upgrade my Mac. I preferred not to completely restore from Time Machine, but rather to install a new copy of Mavericks on the new disk and then migrate my TM content afterwards. At the end of installation, Mavericks proposed the option to migrate data from a TM backup, which I chose.
It turns out that the Migration Assistant did not recognize any disk, perhaps because it was encrypted, nor displayed any way to select the volume and unlock it by entering its password. Despite what Pondini says the Time Machine backups disk was not seen by the Mac: as workaround I had to create a fictitious user, log in, unlock the disk (that was immediately recognized by the system) and then run the Migration Assistant from there (by the way, after 4 hours I finally logged into my migrated account and found out that apps were not imported at all!)
I find all this quite not…applish! I could have preferred to unencrypt the TM disk rather than
Is there anyone facing this same experience? Hope that this, if it's a bug, will be fixed, otherwise I'll have to make a TM backup on a secondary disk (which I don't own so big).

Well a google search would appear that disk utility will show you the disk regardless if it's mounted or unmounted. you're best bet would be to unmount the disk in finder, shut down the computer completely, unplug it from a power source, and then unplug the firewire...
I think this is your safest bet but then again, I'm not that worried about ejecting my disks.
you get no error messages when you right click and eject the disk in in disk utilty? you said you have a my disk, do you mean My Book by western digital? I know that they load software onto the machine for encryption purposes. have you tried ejecting the disk from there? I uninstalled said software so I can't tell you if there is an option for that or not.

How do I copy content from an entire row of one table into a different table? When I try to copy/paste the selected row into a row of the same size and configuration in another table in the same document, the cells change width, the formatting and border thicknesses change, and the text gets squeezed. When I was working with tables in Microsoft Word, there was no problem selecting text from a row in one table and placing it into a similar row and configuration in another table.

Isn't it possible that I connect my iPhone to a computer of a friend, to put some free mp3 on my iPhone?
I manage my library manually, but it always wants to sync everything with the computer of my friend?!

For reasons that are beyond our ken Apple have designed iTunes in such a way that the content of an iPhone can only be effectively managed from a single *iTunes library*. This restriction is normally presented as being from a single computer but the distinction is important. I can and do manage my iPhone from any computer I chose by dint of having my library stored on a portable external drive. For data security I clone this library onto both my home and work computers so that I have three copies of all my media and the database files.
Note, iTunes protected content can be authorized on up to five computer operating systems at any one time. Protected content from up to five different accounts can be added to any one device. Protected content from each account can be added to as many devices as you can lay your hands on.
