Different country plants and different country warehouse

Hi all,
My client has plants in 2 diff countries, lets say Thailand and Korea and he has his one Warehouse in Singapore. I have assigned the plants to different company codes, but how will assign the Warehouse . What should i do?

Hi,
This you can do it in two ways:
1. Make three header under top level....one Product A, 2nd Product B ( as Billing element) and third as Common expense ( only cost). Now 1st & 2 nd WBS, you have to have sales order linking with individual lint item, for third you will accumulate all the common expense till the period end then make a reposting of the same in desired proportion to both products WBS hierarchy
(This is if you want to have a track on the common expense as well.......like planning, budgeting & control)
After this reposting, run RA for individual billing element and hence you will all the complement detailing and control over Revenue and expense with respect to Product A and Product B individually.
2. If you don't want to maintain that kind of detailing the common expense and keep track of it through project, then have cost centers accordingly and make an assesment/ distribution with respect to expenses accumulated at those cost centers for the period to the respective WBS under each product. Then execute the period end processes for the project.
Or
You can try with have two more line items in the costing sheet as an overhead against common expenses with respect each product.

Use Tcode - VI78 to find alternative country key
T coe - OY01 for vehicle country key
001 (European standard formatting), 002 (Italy), 011 (Switzerland) and 014 (Austria) use the vehicle country key of the relevant country. If no vehicle country key has been maintained in Customizing, the country key of table T005 is used instead. If, for the sender country, the indicator for printing the country name in foreign addresses is set in table T005 , the system does not use the country key, but generally prints the country name in the last address line. Check the sap Note: 1509425.

FR Studio - Is there a workaround for the issue with referencing data from a grid with a different DB connection and different # of dimensions?

Hi,
I am trying to reference a column in a different grid with a different database connection. I did some research in the forums, and it seems like this is a known issue with FR Studio. The issue is that if the 2 different database connections have different # of dimensions, then the reference will throw an error.
For example, what I'm trying to do is below:
In grid2.column[A], I have the following formula:
grid1.column[A]
The result is an error.
The ultimate goal is to have a basic variance formula in the grid between grid1 and grid2, which have different database connections with a different # of dimensions. Is there a workaround at all to this bug? The example of the basic formula is below:
grid1.column[A] - grid2.column[A]
Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks for the detailed response Mike.
The issue with trying it in Grid1 vs Grid2 is that Grid1's DB connection has more dimensions than Grid2's DB connection. I can't change the DB connection to a database with more dimensions because you have to be able to map all dimensions from the existing DB connection (Grid1) to the new DB connection (Grid2). This isn't possible, so instead I have to map Grid2 (less dimensions) to Grid1 (more dimensions). It just ignores the extra dimensions from Grid1. Does that make sense?

I have the following scenario :
The company has a plant in Dibrugarh and another in Plant Raipur .
It deals with product called SIG .
SIG is manufactured at Dibrugarh but sent to Raipur. So we have different valuation for the same material at two different plants . Now the second scenario is this product SIG is also procured from the domestic market as well as imported . This externally procured SIG either from domestic market or from foreign country is also sold to the customer. So what would be the valuation of this SIG . How many valuation types should it have . And what are the mandatory settings at two plants .

Split Valuation process is useful when the materials have to be maintained with more than one value based on certain criteria like
The following are some reasons for which Split valuation is used
Different origins of the material
Different grades of quality for the material
Different statuses for the material
Differentiation between in-house production and external procurement
Differentiation between different deliveries
In your case;
Split Valuation process is useful when the materials have to be maintained with more than one value based on certain criteria like
Imported materials and local material based on the origin of purchase so that the valuation of the final product manufactured can be valuated accordingly
For Activating Split valuation certain settings have to be done in customization and in the Material Master record.
Activate split Valuation for the Valuation area (In SAP standard system the split valuation is set as active by default)
MENU: - IMG  Materials Management  Valuation and Account assignment  Split Valuation Activate Split valuation
Define Valuation Category and Valuation type for the material in the customization
MENU: - IMG  Materials Management  Valuation and Account assignment  Split Valuation Configure Split Valuation
Note : Valuation category specifies which criterion should be used as the basis for differentiating between the various partial stocks ( origin, quality, production etc)
*The valuation type specifies an individual characteristic of a partial stock ( Origin u2013 imported/local , Quality u2013 (high/low) Etc)*

for the payment terms , you can change in the line item in the sales order level ,
for the delivery ship to party address , in the sales order , go to item data or header data - > partner functions - > select the ship to party , you will get the address of that ship to party , change it
I found only this way but i have not seen the affect as i am not in front of SAP system

Access two EAS with different Essbase versions and different java versions from the same p.c.

Hi,
I need to regularly access Essbase 11.1.2.2. and Essbase 11.1.2.3 EAS from the same client machine.
They are on, and must be on, different versions of java, is there a way to have both versions of java installed but each using the correct version and without the two java versions causing any kind of problems?

Hi Robert... I assume this is web-launched?
I spent a day or so trying understand the intricacies of the JNLP protocol and create shortcuts that will invoke web-launched EAS with the appropriate version of Java. I can get one version of EAS to use the 1.6 Java Web Launcher, and the other version of EAS to use the 1.7 Java Web Launcher - but both Web Launchers eventually invoke the same version of Java! There are switches in the JNLP syntax that seem like they should allow you choose the actual Java version that gets invoked, but I just could not make it work.
You can use the Java Control Panel (in Control Panel) to enable and disable the relevant versions before launching EAS.
If you find otherwise I would love to know (or if you find out how to control which versions are enabled or disabled via command-line script).

How to manage seasrch directories for different TestStand projects and different users?

I am working with several others and we share some number of directories and at the same time own different directories for each projects. Problem rises when there are duplicated VI names are created by two users working on two different projects. Search path has to be manually changed to avoid loading a wrong VI. Sometimes user forgets to change and load a duplicated VI name. Is there a better way to manage th search paths?

Matt's comments above regarding the SearchDirectories object only apply to TestStand 3.0.
Under TestStand 2.0.1, you have to manage the settings in the config file Testexec.ini. You can also have read access to the search directories by accessing the .Data.SearchDirectories array property that is returned from Engine.ConfigFile().

My ipods stuck in recovery mode. Says error 9 when it tries to restore. I've used many different USB cords, and different computers. I've also downloaded itunes many times. And apple mobile device is installed. Please help me out.

This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
Since it appears you have done everything else, disable the security software on the computer.

Issue in Passport Country 2 and Passport Country3 in ESS Portal

In SAP Portal Personal Data -Passport Country 1 All datas are getting saved in Overview Screen
But in Passport Country 2 and Passport Country 3 datas are not getting saved in Overview Screen and not getting the data from the backend also.
In V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP i have maintained UseCase and Active Subtype as
05 185 z1(Passport Country1)    A5
05 185 z1(Passport Country 2)   A5
05 185 z2(Passport Country3)    A5
Can any one please let me know how to pass the values backend and viceversa in Passport Country 2 and Passport Country 3

What are the country ?
You should check the setting of the table V_T588UICONVCLAS. This use a conversion class that get information of backend for display in the portal .

Partition Restore Cold Backup Different System and Different Version DB

Is it possible, can we restore the cold backup at different database version and different operating system(but same ENDIAN_FORMAT) ????????
My original system HP-UX (64-bit) and database version 10.2.0.3.0 i have cold backup and i want to partion restore on Linux Redhot 5.5 (64-bit), database version 10.1.0.4.0 .
If it is possible. How can i do this.

Plants in different country

Dear All,
We have two plants 1100 in India (IN) and 2200 in Bhutan (BT) and assigned to same company code 1000 (IN).
We have assigned same tax calculatuion procedure to country IN and BT. Created Tax codes in IN and BT.
Transactions in plant 2200 (BT) will be all same as that of plant 1100 (IN)
Is this the best practice to process the scnario like this ?
We have sale process at plant 2200. While extending material to sales organisation - at Sales Org 1 tab - Tax data is coming with country IN. What could be the reason ? Are there country settings for Sales Organisaton.
As we assigning Plant in country A to company in country B, isn't in conflict.
Please throw lights.

Its not correct that creating the two plants in same company code if they are located in the different countries
if the plant is in the other country at the time financial statement will change with respect to that country.
tax procedure will be assigned at company code level only when you assign the tax procedure for the company code it will be applicable for both the plants which are u assigned to that company code,

HCM Absence types- need to display in different languages in the same country based on user language preference

We are implementing in Belgium where we need to have absence in both dutch and French for the different user sets. Is there anyway to set up one absence type but have the different translations for the different user groups. There was a document ID 1619320.1 that referred to the fact that if the absences were created by a seedfile then they would be translated. Has anyone come across this issue whereyou need to display the same absence type for more than one language in the same country and how did you do this or did you have to set up separate absence types in the different languages which I do not want to do

If you are using Captivate 4 multi languages is a
posibility..
Set a User Variable to pass the language you want to a Flash
SWF whic is embeded (This can play and hold multiple audio tracks).
For example Captivate 4 will pass "french" to the embeded flash SWF
which will play the "french" track.
OR
you could just use branching ;)
