Different display of thread lists
Ok, now I'm seeing the lists of posts with some threads having text descriptions vs the little "folder" icons, and once again this is using Firefox vs IE8

Seems virtual desktops are overpromoted - and in fact not about virtual desktops (changing content on the desktops). The socalled virtual desktops are right now
no more than app switching on different displays.
Dangerous game again from Microsoft promoting things as something they are not.
Virtual desktops are already a well-defined concept - and people will expect the desktop to be able to change content (be dynamic) ... the data and launching programs for documents, different backgrounds.
... but as others may already have stated in other threads: (Right now) Windows 10 does not contain virtual desktops/displays/screens. Not at all.
A skeptical hypothesis - hopefully it is not so, and we will be able to work with data in a valuable way. The data is on the desktop anyway today - so why not make it real virtual desktops? I simply do not understand the decision.
So here comes the skeptical hypothesis - it's not a Steve thing. It's Microsoft still looking for that next revamped business model to finance their future.
So the freak kind of virtual desktops (virtual desktops in Win10 a lie?) will disappoint - have already begun to do so - and seems Microsoft is just taken up with inserting an additional intermediary step towards relaunching the appstore and hiding
all the user data in cloud again. Really, hiding the difference between data availability - not making the cloud something MORE but making the local system something LESS. The NEXT BIG thing? So we're going to loose file system, folders and the general ability
to form concepts of our own - and get a freak system? The NEXT BIG thing - data integration? Because data was hidden away now. Also in local systems. Artificially creating new problems - rather than solving new interesting ones?
We need to able to pin the data onto the display whether desktop, start screen, what ever. It's also on the feature requests. Desktops/Start Screen/Original displays for workflows/whatever actual starting points on login ... needs to have
more links than application from appstores and application containers linked to them.
If any more app (read: not cloud, data) but appstore, appstore, appstore
application containers hiding the data away comes into the UI I am going with Linux. I am that close ...A better name would be Virtual Display Layouts ... Virtual Screens ... Virtual Start Screens (please let us be able to pin files/folders to the Start Screen, a requested voted for feature for Windows 10).
You see, go back and read the topics for Windows 8 ... you will learn the Start Screen is/was the new desktop - and should have been made virtual.
So please get your act together and stop confusing everything ... and make on coherent system. Drop the Start Screen - and go with the virtual desktop
(put the Start Screen technology into the virtual desktop - and let users pin folders and files there as requested ... both local and in the cloud) -
Infopath forms are not displaying in the list

I have created an info path form template after customizing a list form using infopath designer. But it is behaving weird. After submitting the form it is not displaying in the lists allitems view rather it is displaying from designer but directly
under the list not in the items folder.
1) Any idea why this is happening?

I have feeling that you made a mistake while saving/publishing or filename in submit option (I don’t think List InfoPath form let you set up different submit option).
Sometimes, it is much faster and easier to re-do it again. I recommend you to following the article below. You can skip most but please pay attention on the start (beginning of Part 2 – Customizing)) and on the end (Part 4 - Publishing)

Display a Linked List ADT in JTree ?
Most of the Swing examples that I have noticed for building a JTree have used many different ADTs, but I haven't noticed any examples to use a JTree to display a linked list (not necessarily the LinkedList class though). I was studying Data Structures & Algorithms, and the majority of the examples for Binary Trees, Red-Black Trees, and 2-3-4 Trees use a form of a linked list to connect all of the nodes together.
Isn't it, or should it, be possible to use a JTree to display a linked list ADT ? Or am I missing something somewhere ?Maybe, if you only had a reference to one other node in the object that is being linked together.
What if there was a node object that contained three references ?

How to display a bulletted list
Hi All,
I'd like to display a list of agreements to the user as a bulleted list. It's all the things that the user is agreeing to when they submit the application.
What would be ideal is if there is a controller that I can bind to an array, and it will display each item in the array as a single bulleted list item. The list of agreements will vary depending on how the user as filled out the application, and if I do it this way I could simply pass in a collection with all the items they are agreeing to.
But I haven't been able to even figure out how to display a bulleted list. I've found some posts online that address how you might do this if you're working on an editor, but I don't need editable text--I just want to display a bulleted list to users. It seems like this is a basic feature that must be in Flex 4 somewhere, and I don't want to go reinventing the wheel.

-JoshOk, here's what I came up with for a bulleted list that you can bind an ArrayCollection of String items to. Thoughts? Any issues with this implementation?
I looked into a custom ItemRenderer, but this seemed much simpler and it's all I need in my case--a bulleted list.
I'm aware that no escaping of the input strings is being done, but that's actually intentionally--I may wish to pass in strings that include additional markup to make certain words/phrases bold.
The reason for the getter and setter on the dataProvider property is to ensure that anytime a new assignment is made to that property the change listeners are setup.
I'm interested in feedback on how I could do this better or differently, to best take advantage of the facilities Flex offers.

CD cover not displaying in Album List view
A couple of my CDs cover art doesn't display in Album List view (second button from left of the 4).
However the art is definitely there. If I click any song in the CD, the art shows in the lower left, "Now Playing"
Or if I select a song and then CMD + I the art shows in Summary and in Artwork tabs just like
all my other CDs.
I own the physical CD and ripped it and imported into iTunes and then scanned the art, saved
as .jpg and then selected all the tracks, clicked CMD + I and pasted into the Artwork square in
the Info page.
I've done this same process TONS of times so I am at a loss why this is happening or how to
fix it.
Thoughts?Its the Allman Bros live at the Fillmore. 2 CD set. I have different art and names for each.

and then the front cover for CD1 and a scan of the back of the CD cover for CD2, so all is different. Except the band name.
I deleted the art for each song and first imported to all the songs of each CD at one time. Each song had the art but the display of the whole CD still didn't display as before.
Deleted the art in each song one at a time, then this time Added the art to each song one at a time. Same problem. The art is 500 px at 72 dpi. I also tried saving the art as .png. Still didn't work. Ugh.
Now... you're suggesting that I trash the Album Artwork folder. Since I've imported manually about 100 CDs that iTunes didn't recognize, won't I lose all this work? -
Company Hierarchy Displayed as Flat List
Dear Experts,
I have a problem as described below.
My query has 0COMPANY in its column. The hierarchy for 0COMPANY has been defined but not activated by default. Whenever users from Group A execute this query, they need to view 0COMPANY as hierarchy by activating it via Property.
However, what happened is that, they are unable to view the hierarchy and the company and its subsidiaries are being displayed as flat list.
I suspect this has to do with authorization but unable to figure out what causes it to happen. Could anyone give me some pointers on how to move forward?
Notes:
- In RSECADMIN, I have Authorization: Z_COMPA
- 0COMPANY is included in the Authorization Structure.
- I have the node 050005 defined in Hierarchy Authorization
with the following settings:
Type of Authorization for a Hierarchy = 1
Hierarchy Level = 0
Area of Validity = 0

I have copied the query into a different name and tried to change 0COMPANY hierarchy setting as active by default. However, I got the following error message in Query Designer:
Erros: Default values 'Drilldown Characteristic' 'Company' are not permitted for display hierarchy 'HIER1 100'
Is the error message related to my problem? I have checked the Hierarchy Attributes Settings in RSH1 and noticed the followings:
- Do Not Display Leaves for Inner-Nodes in the Query (Checked)
- Display Behavior for Leaves of Internal Nodes Not Changeable (Unchecked)
- Suppress 'Unassigned' Node (Unchecked)
- Root/Totals Item Appears Above (Selected)
- Drilldown Start Level: 00
Is my Hierarchy Attribute Settings caused the problem?

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi. (In a hotel, you can't do this.)
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

Check boxes are not being displayed in any list applets
Issue: The check boxes are not being displayed in any list applets in the system. A check box can be marked in the system, but as soon as the user clicks anywhere outside of the box the check box 'visibly' disappears. If you hover the mouse over the check box it displays a 'Y'. However, check boxes are working fine for the form applet, the issue is only with the list applet.
I verified the checkboxes work fine in the thick client and in production. However, it is the testing environment, which belongs to client, that is showing the above behavior. I think there is some setting that is missing for them. But I am unable to figure it. I would really appreciate if someone could help !!
Thanks in advanceOne way that you could make it work (just tried it out again) is to use the windings font
and use the checkboxes from there. However, you need to register the font with xml publisher. In the template builder for Word, you can put a configuration file under:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\XML Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config
(depnding on your installation). The file should have the name xdo.cfg or xdoconfig.xml.
There is an example file: xdo example.cfg that you rename and change accoringly.
The font is there setup for windows 2000 as an example. Select the correct font
path - for my XP it is:
<font family="Wingdings" style="normal" weight="normal">
<truetype path="C:\WINDOWS\fonts\wingding.ttf" />
</font>
Then you can put the symbols into your RTF template and it will be rendered.
At least it worked for me - with 5.6.2. (Availbable on Wednesday or Thursday), but
I am pretty sure I tried it before with 5.5.
Didn't have the 5.5 manual with me - so I have to check what that says again..

If use Grid in BG u will get o/p In ALV List Itself, second thing is u will get Croped o/p bcos of Print Format 65255 , in this case u have to create/change a new Print Format only for BG jobs like 651000.
for more info ask ur basis person to create a new print formats in such cases.

On my solaris server, there is an application which, in order to display some information, opens the browser. The server can be accessed thorugh X windows by various users. The issue is that whn firefox is open on one display, it fails to open on another display.
The resolution for this problem as suggested by a lot of users on various forums is to create different profiles for various firefox instances. However, everytime my application will launch firefox, i will have to invoke it with -P option which will pop up the profile manager. I do not wish to show the pop up for creating profiles:(. Is there some way to allow multilple instances of firefox to run on different displays?when you lock the preferences with the mozilla.cfg file in the firefox program folder as it's described in the mozillazine kb article above, it should apply for all users...

Custom playbar does not display in the list of available widgets
I followed the steps described in the "Skins" page of the Captivate 5 help outlined here:

Now my problem is, that my custom playbar is not displayed in the list of available playbars (neither in the Project->Skin Editor->Playbar nor in the list of widgets). If I just duplicate one of the existing playbar files in Gallery/Widgets/Playbars it's listed without problems.
I use Flash CS5 to edit the playbar and tried to publish it as AS3 and AS2 - no success.
Are there special settings I need to set in the publishing settings to get my playbar in the list? Anything else I'm missing?!
