Different hardware for GETVPN Key server

Hi,
Can I use different platforms for Key server and COOP key server ? I belive it is just IPSec or GDOI relation between the two and platform is not related. Can I have some guidelines or link from Cisco on this ? Please help

Hi.
With the AlwaysOn listener you should have a single DNS name to connect to regardless of which cluster node is active. Are you using the listener service? If not, please refer to the link below.

GETVPN Key server Cisco 7200

Hi,
I am using Cisco 7200 NPG1 as Key server for GETVPN. I have almost 500 Spokes. How many concurrent IKE sessions could be supported by 7200 box ?
I have heard that simultenous session limit for IKE is 100 ?

This is true to software crypto.
You get best scaling factor on 7200 with VSA. 500 seems a decent number. Are you seeing any problems?

IDOC with different hardware for both clients

Hi All,
I am creating a MATMAS IDOC and I have receiver client on different hardware.
I have performed distribute model view(BD64) at sender client and got at receiver client also.
Now when I generate partner profile at receiver client end. It is not working.
It gives message ' No messages have been defined for the selection conditions in the model'
Can anyone help me..

Hardware for Java build server

I don't know if this is the correct area for the question, so I apologise if it is not...
The company I work for is budgeting a seperate build server for our developers to use. We are currently 100% sparc in the server environment. Does anyone have any real work benchmarks or experience with using different architectures for compiling code? We are looking at benchmarks between T2000, V40z, and x4200. It looks like we will get all three to get our hands on to test ourselves, but wanted to know if this has already been done and documented somewhere. The server will not be doing any application/db/etc work, just compiling. Are the FP shortcomings of the T2000 any issue with java compiliation? Would a 2x or 4x dual-core opteron be faster? Thanks in advance.

Depending on the size of your projects, the frequency of buildcycles, etc., you might just pull one of your oldest servers out of your serverfarm (and put a new one in instead) and use that.
That's the way most companies (and individuals) do it.
That machine doesn't have to be blazing fast, it hardly matters if a build takes 10 seconds or 30 for example, as usually people won't be waiting for it (or if they are they have other things to do while waiting like smoking a fag or drinking coffee which they'd otherwise do after the build was complete).
At home I use an old laptop with a Celeron 400 and 196MB RAM as my buildbox.
For my single project it's plenty fast enough, taking maybe 2 minutes when on my P4-2.4 with 1.5GB RAM it takes just over 1 minute to build the same project.
It could easily handle a lot more too, but at the moment I have no need for that excess capacity.

Hardware for an iCal Server?

Ok this might turn into a bragging contest but mostly I'm looking into an idea of what sort of computing power we need to run our iCal server.
Currently it's this:
Mac Mini 1.5GHz Intel Core Solo
2GB RAM
OS X 10.5.4 Server w 10 clients
I have 52 users (iCal/Sunbird) currently (but only 6 connect at the moment) and want enough oomph to expand to as many as 75 users.
Right now the CPU gets pinned with Python taking up around 90% of the processing time at around 6 users. Initially the problem was that everyone (well, about 10 Mac users) attempted to sign on at once and the iCal clients all timed out since the server couldn't respond within 120 seconds. So we scaled back and overnight the 3 users who left their computers on and the 3 more whom I added one by one were able to get their Calendars synced. Going to 8 or more users however and clients start timing out again on a regular basis.
While I'm looking into an upgrade for the Mini to either a 2.0GHz, 2.16GHz, or 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo CPU (which I'll have to use a tool to manually set the fans to cool it off), I'm thinking this will likely still not be enough processing power.
An XServe (2x2.8GHz Quad Core w 2GB RAM and Unlimited Client Server - $3100) seems like overkill (I've been told I can purchase something new if necessary) and we do have a spare PowerPC G5 Dual 1.8GHz Mac which could also work. I'd prefer to not purchase an iMac (which was suggested) or a Mac Pro (slightly cheaper) if at all avoidable.

I would suggest troubleshooting the CPU getting pinned as a support issue. We run a Core Duo (solo) 2GhZ iMac in a similar environment with no problems. Are you authenticating locally, or connecting to another directory?

Why does my password save as a different "value" for my POP server.

When I log my info for my work account on the preference page in my .mac account, for some reason the password I use is changed to another "value" . I have looked at the keychain app. no problems there.
I can't get it to save MY password.
This laptop has had interesting problems since day one.

The resxxxxxx is your Verizon-created id (vzid). Every account has one, it's assigned when your account is created. Your PWS should by default be located at BOTH of the URLs you listed, even though the Site Builder only lists the vzid. (At the moment, they both show the default "This home page is under construction!" page, so I can't say whether this is working correctly or not.)

Ans:-
I don't think you can install individual certs for all of them. which is not possible, but you can install server certs for particular classes.
In one instance,you can have multiple h/w virtual servers each binded to one ip.
This is possible in iws 6.0,you can install different certs for different virtual classes.

Prd server restore/copy on different hardware

Our Client has PRD SERVER running ECC 6.0 .
u2022 SAP Release and Basis Release ECC 6.0, Kernel 7.0, Sup. Package level 15.
u2022 ORACLE 10G
u2022 Operating System : Windows (2003) NT 5.2 Build 3790 SP2
u2022 Hardware Model and Vendor : hp
PRD servers(2-machines) are configured in Microsft Cluster environment.SAP and oracle Database resides on MSA 1000 storage.
For the backups of PRD they use the HP Dataprotector 6.0.
Now they want to move to different hardware without using the cluster scenario (i.e now they will use single machine) but the OS and DB will be the same .
1st: whether it will be a Homogenous or Hetrogenous system copy?
2nd: can i use the hp dataprotector to restore on different hardware?If anyone has experience with restoring on different
hardware using dataprotector please share..

dataprotector is backup utility, for using this utility you have to configure dataprotector client on new hardware , after which you will be able to restore the database.

BEx report -two different calculations for a result for one key figure how?

Maybe someone could help me with the following, we have a requirement to setup for one key figure two calculations for result rows. One result (average) for one level, and on a higher level -grand total have a (sum), as for our business it makes sense to do it this way. We have setup average for this KF, we get correct results (see below values 7,5 & 6,5) however for the grand total (across multiple products) so for one level up we need to have a different calculation. How could we achieve this?
Here is an example:

This could be achieve only IF you upload a hierarchy for product inventory with different levels, wherein each level show subtotals and finally grand total will be shown at the end of the results.

How to set up different realms for each server ?

I am using weblogic 6 sp1.I have a domain with several servers. i want to assoicate or use different custom security realm for each server.However -on weblogic console- there is no 'Target' tab in the Security node ,and no way to set up multiple Security nodes.How ca i do this (or can i)?

How do I set up different hardware controls for different patches in mainstage?

I'm using Mainstage 3.0.4 and a Novation Impulse.
I created a concert, with the drawbar organ as my first and most important patch. I assigned the hardware controls on the Novation exactly how I wanted them, with the sliders controlling the drawbars, and the rotary controls changing the distortion, reverb, etc. It was perfect. I was happy.
Then I added a new instrument (a new patch, not a new channel or anything like that), a Wurlitzer. Once again I assigned my hardware controllers as I wanted them, and was happy with that.
When I saved the concert, and went back to my organ patch, my settings didn't stay the same, but they still work for the Wurli.
My question is this - do I have to have a new concert for each instrument patch I want to use, if I need to assign different controllers for each patch? This would be stupid! If not, what I am doing wrong, that I can only set up one set of hardware controls per concert, instead of per patch?

Essbase 64 bit on Windows 2003 Server: recomm. Hardware for Calcparallel ?

1 year ago, we migrated to system 9.3.1 for Hyperion Planning - as usual, this includes Workspace, Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, SmartView, Shared Services...
everything is running well on acceptable speed and in general 2-3 times faster than our old environment- essbase 7, planning 4 on (HP DL580 G3 windows 2003 32 bit servers, with each 4 Xeon monocores @3 Ghz)
we decided 1 year ago for 3 windows servers, each with 2 Xeon quattro-cores (=8 cores @ 3.0 Ghz)
1st server Financial Reporting + Workspace (Windows Server 2003 SP2, HP Proliant BL460C G1 with 2x Quattrocore Xeon E5450 3.0 Ghz) 8 GB RAM
2nd Server Planning+Shared Services (Windows Server 2003 SP2, HP Proliant BL460C G1 with 2x Quattrocore Xeon E5450 3.0 Ghz) 4 GB RAM (8 GB would have been better)
3rd Server 64 Bit Windows 2003 with Essbase (Windows Server 64 bit SP2, HP Proliant DL380 G5 with 2x Quattrocore Xeon X5450 3.0 Ghz) 16 GB RAM
as our planning application is quiet big and we run a lot consolidation & datacopy at night, we depend on parallel calculation.
We mainly use command calcparallel 4 - but on 64 bit system, calcparallel 7 should be possible as well
We plan now to extend the system for other regions/2nd application
My Question: the new consultant confused me today, that essbase would regard 1 physicial quattrocore processor as 1 core for parallel calculation - that a machine with just 2 physical cores is not a really powerful machine... and that we better think about new hardware- that a quattrocore is just 1 core for essbase analytics - is this true ???
so did we actually choose a weak environment with only 2 (Quattro)-cores) for Essbase ?
Can anybody confirm if there is a difference for essbase between having e.g. 4 Dualcores and 2 Quattrocores ? (Besides the fact, that it will cost more, as we have to lease a bigger Server with more processor-sockets- and that it will cost a lot efforts to get the system changed)
P.S.: EAS console shows 8 cores for the Essbase Server in properties
Applicationlogfile shows: calculating in parallel with [4] threads (we use command calcparallel 4 in businessrule)
- our nightly calculations take between 60 and 120 minutes- if we avoid fragmentation (run dense restructure every 4 weeks) and keep the system clean and lean...

thanks for the helpful link - the long discussion reminded me again, that pure cores and cache is not all, what makes up a good essbase application -
I will test with calcparallel 6 (in comparison to 4) on our 64bit environment - just to see if I can achieve a 10, 20 or 30% improvement...
In addition, I must admit, that 50% of our 1-2 hour calculation is calculated in serial/ not parallel... so I expect an additional 5 to 10 min improvement, not more.

Limit for license key Process Server Service. JCL_ FTP is exceded

We are getting strange error in Redwood. Now we are not able to start process servers. Process servers were running fine and we were able to run jobs. For some activities in UNIX server we stopped the unix process server and now we are getting strange error while starting process server
9:52:51 PM: JCS-102204: Limit for license key Process Server Service. JCL_ FTP is exceeded; limit is 0, changes require 1.
And we are not able create any new process servers also with job definition type System or Job Chain. While creating we are getting same error.
We have license ProcessServerService.JCL_FTP with the value true.
To create new process server we don't need any JCL_FTP license. Don't know why we are getting strange error.Please help me on this.
