  • How to insert different headers/footers according to recto/verso format in Pages 5.0 ?

    I formatted a document on Pages '09 with two different headers and footers because I print it recto/verso. When I opened this document with Pages 5.0 my headers/footers do no longer appeared and when I try to re-put it, I did not find where I could make them different according to a recto/verso format. Previously this function was situated in the section tab of the inspector. Does this function still exist ? If yes, where ?
    Thanks.

    Hi, Alizé.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    You can still format headers and footers in Pages 5.0.  Here is the self help guide that walks you through this process.

  • Different Headers and footers in case of multiple layouts

    Hi
    I have a requirement in which we have 4 layouts in one concurrent program and the layout to be selected is to be decided by the value of DFF at Invoice header level.
    The 4 layouts have different headers and footers for which i am trying use single template (RTF) or multiple sub templates through Import functionality in XML Publisher but not able to show different headers and footers in one document. Also i have tried with the ?start:body?> and <?end body?> tags but facing issues in displaying different headers and footers in one document as we cant call the same body tags again in one rtf.
    I am able to show different headers/footers data for 4 rtf templates by using import functionality as below but the footers can get shifted to next page if the line level records increases.
    Can someone please help. Want to know if its possible to have this functionality. Thanks in Advance.

    The possibility to have different headers/footers for 4 pages in a single word document. Is this functionality possible?
    I want to generate report in which the Invoice header DFF value will decide which template to pick up from 4 layouts and every template has different header/footer.
    i am trying use single template (RTF) or multiple sub templates through Import functionality
    There are two ways in which i am trying to achieve the solution.
    1. I am adding 4 layouts in a single document.
    We can't use the <?start:body?> and <?end body?> tags in one file multiple times so i cant go with this option.
    2. I am using import functionality in which i am registering one Master template which will call 4 sub templates as per the DFF value and that layout will be populated.
    Code for Master template
    <?if: TRX_TYPE ='INV'?>
    <?import:xdo://LLCUST.LL_TEST_LAYOUT1.en.AU/?><?call-template:SubledgerTemplate?>
    <?end if?>
    <?if: TRX_TYPE ='CM'?>
    <?import:xdo://LLCUST.LL_TEST_LAYOUT2.en.AU/?><?call-template:SubledgerTemplate2?>
    <?end if?>
    Code for Layout1 template(LL_TEST_LAYOUT1)
    <?template:SubledgerTemplate?>
    <?call-template:SubledgerTemplateHeader?>
    TAX INVOICE 1
    Invoice Date:TRX_DATE
    Invoice No: TRX_NUMBER
    Lines data
    <?template:SubledgerTemplateHeader?> Header1<?end template?>
    <?template:SubledgerTemplateFooter?> Footer1<?end template?>
    <?call-template:SubledgerTemplateFooter?>
    <?end template?>
    But here after importing the RTF we need to call the particular template (<?call-template:SubledgerTemplate?>) which can't be combined with the <?start:body?> and <?end body?> tags. So the Footer will not be static at its place.
    Please suggest or let me know if you need any more info or i can forward you the template etc.

  • How can I create different headers in Pages 09?

    I hope someone can explain to me how to solve this issue: I'm creating a simple training manual and I want the different chapters to appear in the header of the page - Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc. Left and right pages are different because the margin has to be different for binding. Chapter 1 ended on an even page (a "left page.") I inserted a Section break at the bottom of that even-numbered page hoping to start a new section on the next page (odd numbered), and change the header to Chapter 2. However, to my surprise, when I changed the header to Chapter 2, all the previous headers for odd-numbred pages also changed to Chapter 2. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
    On the Layout inspector, under Section, I only have checked the option "Left and right pages are different." Everything else is unchecked. I'm using version 4.2 of Pages 09 under Mountain Lion OSX.

    "Left and right pages are different because the margin has to be different for binding.
    Chapter 1 ended on an even page (a "left page.") I inserted a Section break at the bottom of that even-numbered page hoping to start a new section on the next page (odd numbered), and change the header to Chapter 2. "
    For the specifications above, the Inspector settings for Section 2 should be as shown in the image below:
    Section break at the end of the text for Chapter 1. If you have "Section starts on" set to "Right Page" your next section will start on the first recto page after the section break, inserting a blank page if necessary. You can also set this menu (red arrow) to start the next section on Any page (it will start on the next available page) or the next Left page (it will start on the lext verso page—an unusual setting).
    Page numbers may "Coontinue from previous section" or may re-start for this section, beginning with a value you set in the box (purple arrow).
    Left and Right are different (green arrow) allows a different header or footer on facing pages (eg. Book Title on verso, Chapter title and page number on recto). Note that this setting does not change 'Right' and 'Left' margin options to "Inside" and "Outside." That change is made by checking the Facing Pages checkbox in the Document Inspector.
    Finally, unchecking 'Use Previous headers & footers" allows editing the headers and footers in one section without changing those for the previous section. Note that the edits will take effect in the section containing the insertion point when the edit is made.

  • How do you create different headers on each page of a document in icloud pages?

    I have to have a different header on my title page than the rest of my paper.  I believe I did it once before but it may have been in the regular pages program on my Macbook Pro.  I was wondering if there was a way to do it on the icloud and ipad versions of pages due to I do most of my work away from my laptop.
    Thanks!

    I found on my computer, if you click on the header you can change it on each page.  There is also a place in Set Up under Sections at the bottom of the page that has a drop down to create a new Section either 'Starting with this section' or 'After this section'.  Hope this helps.  Also at the top there is a place under Headers & Footers to  choose either 'hide on first page of section' or 'match previous section'.  I believe if you deselect the 'match previous section' you can easily change the header or footer for each page.

  • Different headers on each page of a Pages document

    I searched for this, but every answer seemed to be some variation on "there's no reason to put a different heading on each page of a document". I do require this function, though, and was wondering if there's any way to do it.
    Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Printing error with odd/even pages

    Apologies if this is the wrong group, I looked for a more
    appropriate one
    but there doesn't seem to be one on this server. If there's a
    better place
    to ask this question, please let me know.
    Anyhow, I'm using Acrobat Reader, latest version (I updated
    off the Adobe
    site after first noticing the error just to be sure), and I'm
    having a
    couple of serious bugs when it comes to printing odd-only or
    even-only pages
    of a multi-page document. (I don't have one of those snazzy
    re-feeder
    printers that can do both sides, so if I want to print
    double-sided I have
    to do first one then the other.) At any rate, the problems
    are thus: on a
    document which has an odd number of pages, if I tell it to
    print all
    odd-numbered pages, it will invariably skip the first page.
    This one's not
    that serious, as I can just manually print page 1 after the
    fact. The
    really annoying problem occurs when I try to print the
    even-numbered pages.
    What happens in this case is it prints the first page (i.e.
    Page 2) *twice*.
    Once on the back of page 1 and again on the back of page 3.
    Needless to
    say, I now have to throw one of them out and redo it. (I've
    taken to
    printing the even-pages first now, so I can use the backside
    of that extra
    page 2 for scrap paper, whereas previously the extra sheet
    was basically
    useless as it was printed on both sides.) The bug does not
    seem to occur
    with documents that have an even number of pages. Only those
    with an odd
    number. Doesn't matter if I choose back-to-front or
    front-to-back. Doesn't
    matter what printer I use, I've tried 3 different ones (and
    made sure I had
    the latest drivers for each) and it happens in every case.
    I'm guessing
    that there's some confusion in the software as to the number
    of pages it's
    supposed to print. If a document has an odd number of pages,
    there's one
    more odd-numbered page than there are even-numbered pages,
    and it's getting
    it backwards, printing one more even-numbered page and one
    less odd-numbered
    page. Anyhow, it's really annoying, and a waste of paper and
    ink as well.
    Any ideas how to avoid this? (Seriously considering editing
    the documents
    and adding one blank page to the end of every document with
    an odd number,
    though it seems like that shouldn't be necessary...)

  • BIP (OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1): Different Headers on 1st page, middle pages, same header on last page as 1st page

    Hello,
    This is a much discussed topic but I still couldn't find a resolution.
    The report I am trying to convert from Oracle Reports is an Invoice. The requirement is as follows:
    On Page 1 The full header including company logo, bill-to, ship-to address, invoice number etc. Standard Invoice header stuff should print 1st page.
    Page 2 andl subsequent pages should print a scaled down version of the above header to conserve space (and paper)
    Last Page should have the Invoice Summary.
    In case of a multiple page Invoice this setup works just fine. I have followed examples available in userguide as well as on the web. Used Different First Page option, created section break so that header on first page can be different than on subsequent pages.
    PROBLEM:
    The issue is that in case of a single page invoice, it prints with the scaled down header, invoice details and summary.
    The requirement is that for single page invoice, the Full header and summary appear. I have put  <?start@last-page-first:body?> <?end body?> so that the summary appears on the single page invoice but the FULL header does not.
    I have tired to follow (http://winrichman.blogspot.com/2008/08/different-page-header-and-footer.html) but it doesn't seem to work.
    How can I create the necessary breaks in Word so that I get Full header on 1st page, scaled down header on other..pages and in case of Single Page Invoice, include FULL header and Summary on one page?
    Thanks,
    Manish

    Hi Tim,
    Forgot to mention that there is also a 3rd page which needs to display Part 3 and a different header text which is not something from page 1 or 2.So I guess the even/odd pages in page setup wont work as the 1st page header will be displayed on the 3rd page which is not what is expected.
    I think this is not achievable in MSWord. Is this possible if I use a PDF template?

  • Is it possible to have different headers for each page for the Pages app?

    I just purchased the Pages app for my ipad and it happens to be one of the best apps i've ever bought.  However, I'm having trouble figuring out how to have different headers for each page of the same document.  Is this possible to do?

    Tommy,
    One of the limitations of Pages for iOS on your iPad is that Pages can't create sections per se. The best you can do is insert page breaks and then assign different columns to that page. The problem comes with the headers and footers - in iOS Pages, the headers and footers apply to the whole document, not the individual sections as you would find in Pages '09 on OSX.
    The workaround is to create your document on OSX, insert the needed sections and headers, save, then transfer the Pages document to your iPad either as a working "blank" or as a new document. The headers and footers will reflect the sections you created in OS X, but you won't be able to add any new ones or new sections on your iPad.

    I want to have different headers in Pages. I want to be able to set them and not have them be the same. For example I want ii then iii and so on...How do I do that?

    Hi BelleDesign,
    "Headers" is short for "Continuing Headers."
    Use a Header when you want recurring information on a series of pages in your document.
    If ii, iii, etc. are page numbers, you can place them in Headers using Insert > Page Number, then formatting the page number to lower case Roman numerals.
    For more on Headers and Footers, see Chapter 3, Working with document parts in the Pages '09 User Guide, available for download via the Help menu in Pages. Discussion of Headers and Footers starts on Page 54.

  • Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work

    I've got following problem: Printing only odd/even numbered pages does not work. Not in Preview, nor Adobe Reader. I Don't know why. i'm using a hp Color LaserJet 2550L. I just worked fine, but I cannot remember the time this failing first occured. I really hope the problem will be solved quick and easy.
    Thanks so far
    Bastian.

    Mine does not work either. I have trashed prefs, rewrote permissions, ran Disk Utility from a separate HD, etc. and I cannot get this feature to work.
    I got 45 odd pages to print last night and now it won't print odd or even pages. I am reduced to printing every backside page one at a time. If I would have known about this problem before I could have saved myself an hour and just printed them all on single sided sheets. I tried to save paper and now I'm screwed (timewise)......
    Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,

    How do I change headers and footers in one single document in Pages? I would appreciate any help as this seems to be quite frustrating. Thanks so much!!

    Why are you not sure whether you have Mavericks or not?
    And what version of Pages are you talking about?
    Insert a Section Break and uncheck the copies previous option.
    All the Headers and Footers are the same within a Section.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro ver. 9.4.2 Portfolio Welcome Page, Headers, Footers

    Acrobat 9.4.2 Portfolio Welcome Page, Headers, Footers
    I recently upgraded to Acrobat 9.4.2 and now cannot save welcome page, headers, footers in portfolios I create. Portfolios created in previous verisions of 9.X.X. properly display welcome page, headers, footers in 9.4.2. Anyone with ideas? Is there some setting I am missing?

    Josh, thanks for responding. Following summarizes my workflow:
    - Files selected via Windows Explorer, "Combine supported files in Acrobat" option.
    -  Select PDF portfolio, Combine.
    -  After portfolio is saved, Acrobat opens in the Home Page view displaying thumbnails of the converted files and Edit Portfolio already selected.
    -  Select Welcome Page, Image and Text insert same.
    -  Select Header, Logo and Structured Text, insert same.
    -  When finished, select Done.
    -  Select Save Portfolio icon.
    -  Deselect Edit Portfolio.
    -  Close Acrobat.
    -  Open portfolio, either double-clicking portfolio file name or starting Acrobat and selecting Open, file name.
    - Acrobat opens portfolio in Home view. The Welcome Page icon is grayed out.
    The above is my normal workflow; however, I observed that if after creating the portfolio's Welcome Page and Header and when exiting the program, if I receive the message "Do you want to save changes to the por tfolio before closing?", the Welcome Page and Headers are in fact saved. This is a very workable solution to the problem for me. There seems to be something going with saving via the icon. If for reason I do not receive the above message and the program exits, the Welcome Page and Headers are not saved.
    My operating system is WIndows XP Pro, SP3. BTW, 9.4.2 works fine on my Windows 7 machine and another XP machine with 9.0. Thanks in advance for your offer to help, but the workaround described above works and lowers my frustrationlevel considerably.

  • Odd/Even pages with data from two tables

    Hi Forum,
    Can you please extend help/suggest with the following scenario:
    I have two data tables and one table records needs to be printed on odd pages (Front page) and the other table records need to be printed on even pages (Back page). I need alternating front and back pages based on data records in the tables. Also second table will be having lesser records when compared with first table.
    I'm able to get the alternating Odd/Even master pages. But the first table is being printed in both the odd/even pages first and then the second table is being printed in both the odd/even pages. How can I restrict the printing of the first table on odd page and second table on even page?
    Thanks for your help/suggestions.
    ~Madan

    You can play with pagination tab in your LCD tab, but I have never learnt enough to be able to use it effectively.
    If I were in your shoes, I would alter the DDIC structures in the backend so you will only display it in the form, without any suicidal actions through the pagination, scripting or similar stuff.
    How: If you need to alter pages, you can do that in your backend, right?
    Like you can have a structure page with attributes:
    - up/ front: data for the front page
    - down/back: data for the back page
    and you will alter the data in the table with this structure as a line in your ABAP program and will use to form to display the trnaformated data only.
    Well... I don´t tell it is clear/right/ proper solution and cannot tell if there are any obstacles which will not let you use this scenario in your case, but you could consider this as an option...
